1721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 22, 2022, 08:28:12 AM
It's def wrong to say the UFC is past its prime.  As a company, it's more than thrice over larger than what it was 10 years ago and they're still growing.  They have the biggest PPV events in MMA, biggest non PPV events and obv have the biggest roster of fighters.  And it's not just that, they have most of the best fighters in MMA.

And it's funny how the other guy doubles down and says the Eagle FC is close to the UFC's level.  Khabib is just starting to realize how hard it is to be a promoter.

But I will say this, there was a time when it was the golden years in the UFC from a fan's perspective.  It was when Demetrious Johnson, Dominic Cruz, Aldo, GSP, Anderson Sliva, Jon Jones and Cain were all title holders at the same time.  Good times.

I have re-read his post and is seems that he said opposite - "there is no MMA promotion that is close to UFC level of fame". But the fact that he has mentioned Eagle FC shows that he is a new guy here Cheesy Bellator seems to be the most popular and biggest among "MMA but not UFC" promotions. Strikeforce used to be one step below UFC. They also had regular events, big name and huge rewards. But UFC bought them Cheesy I think he is confusing crazy hype and overall popularity. During Khabib vs McGregor, world media was indeed more on a hype than today.

Did you notice, that after Drew Dober beat Bobby Green this weekend, he has now in lightweights top15, and, we see no Tony Ferguson there now Smiley

Well he did say that it's not in its prime anymore and that its popularity is waning.  To that I say, I bet to disagree.  He prolly isn't really following the UFC that much or for that matter, MMA.  Like it or not, the UFC has been gotten a lot bigger than it has ever been.

Dober deserves it...  He's been with the UFC for a long time now.  I could be wrong but I think he was at the top 10 at 155 back in the day.  He's 34 now and could still be in good match ups.  Just nothing to expect as far as climbing to top 5 and a title shot goes.
1722  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to play poker with crypto ? on: December 21, 2022, 12:57:42 PM
Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I played poker with crypto, back then I used betcoin.ag but they closed their poker rooms.
Does anyone know a trustworthy place to play poker with crypto ?

Thanks

For the best poker site, there's no other choice except GG Poker.  It has the best game selection, the site that accepts BTC with highest traffic and it's as trustworthy as the best poker site can be.  You're money is prolly safer at GG Poker than at your typical crypto exchange.  Lolol.

But I think BTC as a deposit option depends on which part of the world you're at tho.  Go check...  And never ever use VPN's when logging in a poker site.  They don't like it.

Some people who are part of Bitcoin still don't believe in the four year cycle, foolish for them.

I think it has been a good model but really..  Careful now.  The '4 year cycle' will keep on working until it doesn't.  Don't use it as a crutch and be ready to adapt at any possible moment.

It could be just like the rainbow chart.  In case you didn't know, have you guys seen what happened to the rainbow chart?  Yeah, apparently there's another version now because the first one stopped working.  Cheesy
Probably, but you have to still think though that we have the bitcoin block halving that occur every 4 years. And we have seen it as the catalyst for a eventual bull run. So for me the 4 year cycle will not work if we that bitcoin block halving will stop working as well as the start of the push to a new all time high.

And we all know that the block halving is designed by Satoshi to happen every 4 years, just saying.

Just because there's a halving every 4 years doesn't mean the 4 year cycle would go on forever.  If that were the case then all other coins that would have a halving every 4 years would also have a 4 year cycle that would go on forever?  It's much more than that.

And what if BTC doesn't follow the same pattern after the next halving?  What then?  I'm not saying BTC won't trend up again but you guys are saying it under the wrong premise...  I've been saying 'whatever you do, don't look at the rainbow chart' but look how it is rn.

Schumacher could be driver no. 2 if Mercedes commits with Russell to be their first driver.  I don't think Merc could acquire Verstappen or Norris as they both have long term contracts with their teams.  They could tempt Leclerc away from Ferrari tho.

I would love to see Leclerc at Mercedes.I don't like him personally as a driver but this year he showed great skill and performance in those races where Ferrari had the upper edge.Beautiful battle in Silverstone between three drivers and one of them was Leclerc,he won in Austria with the gas pedal not working at all and a few more good deeds by him.

At Mercedes I doubt they have first and second driver but they choose one based on the results of the start of the season, they can't have first driver Russell if for example Hamilton wins the first three races.

Yup, I wouldn't mind seeing it happen too.  He's a good driver that hasn't reached his full potential yet because Ferrari has been sucking in strategy and execution as of late.  Vettel has a high opinion of him as a driver, even wrote him a note saying so when Vettel left Ferrari.  I don't get why everybody hated Vettel when he was winning with Red Bull and saying he's not a fast driver.  If that was true then why couldn't Webber beat him during quali or the race?  People seem to forget there are two driver, not one.  Lol.

And Merc would prolly have no defined first or second driver if it was Leclerc - Russell.  Other than that, it's Russell as first driver...  Blimey.

I am going to stick to my words and say that UFC is not in its prime days anymore.
Another thing is, I would say, that the popularity of the UFC is certainly decreasing, but not at a level that can be considered as “dying“.

Why? Just why you got such an opinion? They had events almost every week, while other promotions are lucky to have an event once per month. I think we are so used to their numerous events, that it becomes a routine, and some people, like you for example (no offence) thinks that its popularity is decreasing. Speaking about popularity - UFC were the only sport event that continued during pandemic and lockdowns. If no one would be interested in it, if its popularity would be "certainly decreasing", they would not ran all those events, and people rather switch to watching TV series on Netflix, instead of watching UFC events Cheesy Instead, they gained tremendous response and support during that time.

If you think that I am wrong, then what were the times when "UFC were in prime"?

It's def wrong to say the UFC is past its prime.  As a company, it's more than thrice over larger than what it was 10 years ago and they're still growing.  They have the biggest PPV events in MMA, biggest non PPV events and obv have the biggest roster of fighters.  And it's not just that, they have most of the best fighters in MMA.

Ferrari are claiming that they are back in their old strength again now. They are saying that they have the fastest car on the grid once again. I have heard about another thing also like they had to cut the power of the engine by a significant percent and this held them back from fighting with Red Bull at the same level.

Maybe they are saying the truth about winning their real power back now. We saw an example of it at the beginning of this season in the end. They were very promising. The only thing they need to do this time is to keep consistency. They need to work with better workers to have a season with minimum amount of problems. If we see them having durability issues again it would be a really big disappointment.

They're 'old strength' again now?  And how can that really be when their best engineer has already resigned.  People seem to forget that Binotto was the guy who has done a lot of the work on Ferrari's title winning cars with Michael Schumacher.  I think to really get their old strength back, the Ferrari F1 board should go to Binotto then grovel and plead for him to work with them again because if he goes to another team with money, say McLaren, then the rest better watch out.

I think from the two Mick has made a very good choice as we all know Hamilton cannot race for more than 2-3 upcoming seasons at maximum performance,he can race for much more but his performance would be on the downside rather than on the upside and Mick is just waiting for his time to come to show his skills.I see a big future for him at Mercedes and most probably at Mercedes believe in him too otherwise they would have not signed him up.

Ricciardo I think was forced to go there as he had no other options and I see him as a driver which has already gave his best in F1,he is a winner of races and even won with McLaren but unfortunately he could not get a seat for next season so he settled at Redbull once again as reserve driver.
And you imagined that Mercedes would replace Hamilton with Mick? There is absolutely no way that Mercedes would hire him, they would be able to get anyone aside from maybe Charles and Max, all other racers are fine for them, get Norris if you want, young talented driver after all.

The idea that they would get Mick to replace Hamilton is impossible, so much so that there is a chance they won't even keep him at reserve driver spot until Hamilton retires, they may get a younger better guy there as well. I still think reserve drivers should drive for F2 though, that would be a lot better and all should be there, it would definitely improve the chances.

Schumacher could be driver no. 2 if Mercedes commits with Russell to be their first driver.  I don't think Merc could acquire Verstappen or Norris as they both have long term contracts with their teams.  They could tempt Leclerc away from Ferrari tho.

This upcoming fork (not sure when it is) I need to read up on it.  It worries me somewhat really.  Seems like a big one.  But I need to learn about Seraphis etc.

I haven't been able to find a decent digestible explanation of the changes, only marketing pie in the sky bullshit about how its gonna be better than sliced bread.

Has me concerned to the point I may dig up my cold wallets and cash out before the fork.

The videos on it are of such poor quality they are undecipherable.

If you find good material share. Cheesy

Please post info itt.  I'm not really that active in Reddit and CT anymore.  Got jaded when Fluffy got arrested.  I'm not one to judge and I'm not really sure who's telling the truth anymore.  I think he could still be one of the good guys but a part of me says never to trust anybody in the space.  You just never know.

Anyway as for the XMR/BTC chart, I'm surprised it looks good in the weekly.  If it breaks out the green bar and it flips into support, that would be nice.

1731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: December 20, 2022, 02:10:04 PM
^  Yup.  They def should work together if Bellator and the other smaller promotions really want to compete with the UFC.  But the thing is the UFC can buy them twice over if they see growth in these smaller promotions.  They did it with Strike Force and the did it with Pride FC.  I wouldn't be surprised if they started buying another small and struggling organization and turn it around to be profitable.  I think the UFC has a stake in Cage Warriors and LFA...  Not really sure but I'll look it up later.

And really, some competition against the UFC will be very good for us too.  More quality fights across different organizations.  Wink
1732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 20, 2022, 02:00:34 PM
It was a decent event overall for a Fight Night but nothing outstanding.  I guess it's better than nothing.  And I was kinda bored with the main event tbh.
Judges didn't find this fight boring because Jared Cannonier won by split decision, but I think he was slightly better and he deserved to win.
Cannonier had better percentage of significant strikes in that fight, but Strickland had more strikes and one takedown, so I can understand why someone saw him as a winner.
Since this was last UFC event in this year I expected to see much better fight car, but world cup drama was more than enough for me  Grin

I wasn't really into it after the second round tbh.  I kinda already knew it going to the distance just by the looks of it.  So I didn't really bother watching it a lot closer than I should have.  It's just after Matthews lost, that was it for me.  Lol.  My chance to break even for the event gone.  Next time, all the top tickets should be for main card matches only.  Matches in the main card are more predictable and less volatile.

Dehydroepiandrosterone - that is what USADA found in him. I am not a doc, but that does not look like harmless protein shake ingredient Cheesy The more medical and chemistry abbreviation I seen in the article, the more dirty that stuff looks to me. That crap does not look like a pill that you take once once you have a headache. You take it constantly to gain advantage. 6 month ban was truly a vacation for Green, specially if in their contract it is said that UFC are obliged to give a fighter 2-3 fights per year. I think 1 year ban + a fine from UFC is a minimum what a fighter that gets caught should get.

I think UFC is going easy on him because a lot of people have been talking about the prime days of UFC already gone. I think I saw this in a YouTube short where Jake Paul was talking about the UFC and not being the one great MMA organization that it once was. Even though I do not think that Jake Paul is that much intelligent human being, I have to say I agree with him on this point.

Because if we look at the past, we will see that UFC had multiple fighters, actually a lot of fighters who could bring in a good amount of revenue. A lot of fighters could still fight. But now they have only a few. Probably that is one reason UFC did not want to keep him away for a longer period of time. Because then there comes a chance of the fighter switching to other combat sports like boxing where he will make a lot more money.

Uh, k bruh, whatever they say.  UFC prime days are gone.  Lmao.  How can they say that, it's still growing ffs.
1733  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 19, 2022, 04:11:35 PM
Well, it's been two thirds of a month already, but for the little that's left, and early next year, we're going to be bored, very bored. Unless we have one more exchange going bust or news like that, in which case the price would fall, or we have good news, which is unlikely, we are going to stay in the boring $17k-$20k or so band.

Lmao yeah.  Where are those guys who were saying that we'd be having a Santa Claus pump this month?  It def doesn't look like Santa will be obliging us.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

But then again we still have 11 days til the end of the month.  Anything can still happen.  But for now, everything looks meh.  But all it takes is a little trend going up for a couple of weeks then we all start becoming more bullish again.

As for the poll it looks like the guys who voted 'yes' are still right.  Locking the poll now...
1734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Sentiment Poll for December on: December 19, 2022, 03:55:02 PM
^  Not probably...  Surely!  Markets tend to move due to the psychology aspect of it all.  Just give it a couple more years to 'rest' and when everything starts looking rosier again, I'm pretty sure a lot of folks couldn't wait to get their money in.  And usually most folks get it in at the wrong time when everybody is already looking and when most of the market has already risen.

As for SHIB, it will rise but don't expect the hige rise it had.  For the next great 1000x, go check out the criteria in my other thread.  Cheesy  It could give you a better chance.  Lol.

^  Isn't he into ETH, DeFi and NFT?  I think he was fairly active in CT at the height of the last bull market.  He was asking everybody which coins to buy.  Lolol.

Anyway, had anybody tried live betting the UFC in the site?  I had a hard time doing it as the site is so fast in switching from the odds to 'suspended'.  I couldn't complete the bet everytime.  I was trying to make a couple of live bets in the last UFC event but to no avail and I gave up.

Just making it known so it could be fixed.  Thanks.

Here's an event that everybody itt would appreciate.  Hopefully some crypto books put up a market so we can make some bets...  It's good while we're waiting for a month before the next UFC event.

Bellator MMA vs Rizin FF

Date:  December 31, 9:00pm EST
Venue:  Saitama Super Arena, Saitama, Japan

Featherweight:  Patrício Pitbull vs Kleber Koike Erbst
Lightweight:  AJ McKee vs Roberto de Souza
Bantamweight:  Juan Archuleta vs Soo Chul Kim
Flyweight:  Kyoji Horiguchi vs Hiromasa Ougikubo
Lightweight:  Gadzhi Rabadanov vs Koji Takeda

I've always been curious how these guys from other major promotions perform if pitted against each other.  I know AJ McKee would prolly do well vs some of the top guys in his weight class the UFC.  And to a lesser extend, Patricio Pitbull.  He could be a top 10 guy imho.
1737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 19, 2022, 02:43:10 PM
I missed the event, I've missed a lot of them this year. Hopefully, get to watch a little more next year. Anyway, what was the event like? I saw some highlights of the fights I was interested in, but it seems it was a rather messy affair in some of those fights?

Said showed a lot of weaknesses in the highlights I saw. Maybe, hype derailed a little? Strickland always talks a big game, but he's so timid in the cage. It's almost like he's a cat pawing out with that jab at times. Obviously, scores him points, but it doesn't really go with his pre fight words.

I understand that this was the last event of the year too, so I guess we'll be seeing each other in the new year. I haven't checked the dates yet.

It was a decent event overall for a Fight Night but nothing outstanding.  I guess it's better than nothing.  And I was kinda bored with the main event tbh.

Here are the results in case you want to see them.

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/92365-ufc-fight-night

So yeah...  Pie shitter of the event for me is Jake Matthews.  I really thought that what Semelsberger did to him, he would do to Semelsberger.  Serves me right for placing a UFC noob at my top ticket.  But we live to learn, but then again been making the same mistake over and over.  Lol.  Makes me mad and I can't wait for the next event which is still a month or so off.

Guys, what about Kujira? What´s you thoughts about that?

Market cap is too high at 45m to be a 1000x coin imho as 1000x of that is 45b.  And there isn't much money coming in the Cosmos chain and I don't think they're coming in droves during the next bull.  I think for a better chance to get 1000x, look for coins with a market cap of 1m or lower.  Dog logo not necessary but I think it def will help.

Looks like the thread died a bit.  I hope my bet for 1000x gets some green shoots in and we get some interest back itt.  Lol.

^  Funny how that turned out.  I guess Morocco wants to win it more than Croatia does?  Croatia was set to win the whole thing and I guess losing the semis got them an adrenaline dump and they're playing a tad lower in performance than what they're really capable of.  Morocco on the other hand is making the best out of it.

And it's also funny how it's 2 - 1 at HT.  Totally unexpected to have it at over 2.5 in the first half.  I thought it would end with something like nil - nil or 1 - 1 at FT.
