1781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FIFA World Cup 2022: Tournament Discussion Thread for Qatar 2022 on: December 06, 2022, 03:26:00 PM
The final round of 16 games taking place is today:

Morocco vs Spain
Portugal vs Switzerland

Portugal vs Switzerland seems a victory for Ronaldo and his team but in the other game Morocco have an excellent chance to beat Spain and make it to the quarter-finals.

Really?  Never thought Morocco had the players to beat a top tier international team like Spain.  I fancy a win with a clean sheet for them.  And to make the quarter finals super interesting I'd really want to see Portugal vs Spain.  Other quarter final matches in the other parts of the bracket are Croatia vs Brazil, Netherlands vs Argentina and prolly the best match up of them all France vs England.  If the English squad goes thru, there's a good chance they win it all.  France is one of the tougher match ups in this World Cup.

Edit:  Ah yeah...  I get it now.  Morocco came out on top in their group and even beat Belgium.
1782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much initial startup to Start Cryptocurrency Casino? on: December 06, 2022, 02:42:49 PM
Hi guys I wanted to ask some of big family members who have experience in crypto and also in gambling. But my experience is not good in gambling.
If someone wants to start a Gambling casino online with Cryptocurrency than how much money is needed. I think that 100k dollars initial capital would be enough to satrt a better casino. Cause we have to promote and also do other such promotions.
So what are your thoughts?

A casino operator and casino software operator would not even consider $100k as a good capital to start a good casino, it could just go to the allotment for the winners and marketing I read one article that
Quote
You will also have to provide around $200,000 to $300,000 to cover large payouts when players win.
so that $100k alone is for large payouts as your reserves of course you should expect profit but you need a reserve for payouts, go check this article https://studybreaks.com/thoughts/how-much-does-it-cost-to-start-an-online-casino/

The cost of running a casino could go up to $2 million and the minimum should be at least $1 million for a decent casino that will gain support from gamblers you check the article I provided for the breakdown of the cost.

This one says that it would cost around 1.8 million USD to start one.  That's a lot.  For that kind of money I'd rather start something else like a small candy company or a small brewery for gourmet beer.  Lol.

Here's a break down of the costs from the article:

Software package – $250,000 and up
License – $125,000 more or less depending on the country
Website – $3,000 and up
Payment processor per year – $240,000
Staff – $150,000 or more
Reserve fund – $500,000
Marketing and Affiliate payments – $600,000

https://www.businessfirstonline.co.uk/other-articles/how-much-would-it-cost-to-open-an-online-casino-business/

^  That's no joke.  No wonder some sites take a long time before they pay out some people who hit a jackpot.  They were prolly still trying make the money to pay out.  Lol.
1783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: December 06, 2022, 02:33:03 PM
The FIA is thinking of changing the rules of the formula again.
This time they are talking about changing the penalties in case a team has to change engine parts over the limit.

Currently, anyone who goes beyond the limit of permitted changes takes a penalty on the starting grid, they are thinking of moving the penalty to the first pit box.

They think it's more severe as a penalty but I think it can have the opposite effect.

It's not about the effect, it's about fairness.  It's all about optics and how it will all look from the fans' point of view.  I don't want to see my favorite driver get pole but then get a 5 grid penalty and start at third row or something.  If he got pole position, I want to see him start from pole.  The same thing goes if my favorite driver got pole position because the guy in front of him got a penalty.

So yeah...  Getting a time penalty from the pit box is a good adjustment imho.  I mean what difference does it really make in a sport like F1.  We've seen Verstappen start from 10th on the grid and still get to the podium.
1784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: December 06, 2022, 02:25:21 PM

Yeah I like what I saw from Joshua Pacio's high light reels at YT.  But the other guy Brooks isn't a slouch either.  I'm not really sure what to think as I don't really know both these guys but the fans in Tapology has overwhelmingly voted for Brooks to win and the books that have a market open for ONE have Brooks at 1.25 and Pacio at 3.75.

Check it out at Best Fight Odds:  https://www.bestfightodds.com/

Here are the weigh ins.  What are these Asian fighters eating?  They're leaner and more ripped!  Lol.

ONE FC 164:  Ceremonial Weigh Ins

This is a great fight to watch then, both fighters will surely give their all to win, for me, I fully support Filipino fighters, If I have seen that a Filipino boxer or fighter has something to show over the fight then I will surely bet for him for support but if not I will still support him but not going to bet, but in Pacio's case I really think he got something that he will show and I am betting on that

As I said in my other posta above yours, Pacio got a little timid after the first round.  I'm not sure if it's something related to his cardio but it looked like the wrestling got to him.  But he did defend Brooks' TD's well from R2 - R5.  So Brooks stayed outside and came in with a TD or resorted to strikes without over committing.  It was a good game plan.

Another reason why Pacio was 'timid' was prolly because their game plan was to wait for Brooks to gas himself out which never happened.  He was bouncing around the cage for the whole 5 rounds.
1785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 06, 2022, 02:15:28 PM
What is next for Pavlovich? One more fight and in case of a win a title fight? Dont think that Pavlovich will manage to climb higher than he is now. Any good wrestler (*sigh* again a wrestler) will make an easy win. Pavlovich seems to be one tactics fighter. He is quick on hands, but barely uses legs. He is good at middle distance due to speed and reach. But on distance, dont think he will stay long against high kicks. On close distance - Overeem threw knees, got Pavlovich down and tko. Seems he is bad against submissions, even though he is from combat sambo.

Curtis Blaydes would make sense and we see how he fares against one of the best wrestlers in the UFC.  Another match up that I'd like to see for the Pavlovich is him vs Gane.  It's gonna be power vs finesse.  I think he loses to both but he got that powerrr that could change the outcome.  Lol.

1786  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 04, 2022, 09:13:13 PM
I always love these topics, it shows what people think at the start of the month, and then we see the real end of the month as well. Sometimes the majority is right, and sometimes they are wrong but there is one thing that is certain which is the fact that it's not general knowledge of what's going to happen. Correct me if I am wrong but I have never seen the community picking the right thing with like %80 votes, its always close, and its always a bit wrong, which means that plenty of people have no idea what's going to happen in the next 30 days, and that's a good thing for the market because that means anything could happen.

Lol yeah..  It's fun.  And it's good to know what the overall sentiment is for the month.

Anyway I'm seeing some guys thinking BTC would drop some more below 15k.  Sometimes I'm not really sure if it's really what they really think would happen or if it's what they want to happen.  I'm guessing it's the latter as a lot of people are starting to lowball and try get in cheap.

I don't vote in my own polls but leaning towards we already saw the bottom.  Dunno...  Could change next month.  Lol.
1787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Sentiment Poll for December on: December 04, 2022, 06:39:55 PM
^^ It seems that they are at lost with ETH right now, not sure if they are still going to categorized it as a commodity.

Quote
Behnam said that the only cryptocurrency that should be viewed as a commodity is Bitcoin, walking back from previous remarks made in October when he suggested Ether may also be a commodity.

https://fortune.com/crypto/2022/11/30/inaction-is-paralysis-cftc-chair-rostin-behnam-calls-for-regulation-in-the-wake-of-ftxs-collapse/

Anyhow, I voted No, just like BTC, I think ETH is has not yet lowest low for this month. Still possible that a negative news without the market will put the already shaky ecosystem into a big test and the price can still go down hard. And with that, I'm still not sold that ETH included, will not suffer from the impact of negative news and FUD.

But here's the thing, even though there's still gonna be some sht going on in crypto, is the market still gonna react negatively in the same magnitude as when the Terra Luna fiasco happened?  FTX's fiasco didn't really cause that much of a sell down imho...  Given how huge it was.  If it happened around January, we'd see BTC drop 50% in a couple of days imho.  Lol.

So yeah, I think it could be getting to a point where the market just doesn't care anymore.  Dunno...
1788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for the Next Great 1000x on: December 04, 2022, 06:27:56 PM
It must not be listed in any of the major exchanges.  This is not a hard rule but I noticed that 1000x coins are mostly unknown.
(....)
Super agree. Those coins are considered hidden gems, which do not yet really exist on some major exchanges.
Before, Kucoin Exchange is one of the exchanges that are good to spot some gems here which is to be considered to be 1000x in the future, but I don't know now if Kucoin Exchange is still good any suggestions?
But behind that, consider also other things, like tokenomics (very important).

Yeah, I haven't traded in Kucoin but looking at the coins listed over there, it looks like it's a safer version of Yobit.  Yobit was the nuts before 2018.  Don't know what happened to it and why everybody in these parts think it's a scam now.

As for which exchange is housing the next 1000x, I think it's gonna be at Cakeswap, Uniswap, Sushiswap, etc etc...  You just have to pick one of those ones that might be listed in the likes of Binance one day.

Stephen Thompson VS Kevin Holland ROUND 4 KO/TKO - LOST

I think Holland just Hype the people with all the trash talk he did before. But I was sure Thompson has something good to offer to Holland, and that's why I only placed 1 bet on that event and it was Thompson for the win.

I know it wasn't a big amount, but I really enjoy that fight. and love that x2.48.

The first round was complex, but from the second one, I knew Thompson has this match because Holland was just acting as a kicking bag.

Holland has a massive fight IQ deficit imho. Lol.  If you watched the match, Holland had Thompson on the mat twice with Holland on top.  Twice!  But what did Holland do?  He let Thompson stand up.  Cheesy  He played into Thompson's strengths and lost for it.

Oh and Holland was fighting with his right hand broken around R2.  So he really should've played it on the ground as Thompson had mostly no ground game.  :/
1790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / ETH Sentiment Poll for December on: December 03, 2022, 04:46:51 PM
Like BTC, November wasn't really great for WTH too.  And like BTC, it looked like ETH was going to start trending up for a while but then of course something shtty has to happen.  FTX.  :/  But it also feels like the market stopped caring and we're seeing some buyers scoop up some ETH at these prices.

We'll do exactly the same thing as the BTC sentiment thread.  Look at the chart below and answer the poll. I saw a guy asking for 'undecided' in the BTC thread.  I say no...  Let's not take ourselves seriously now.  Just have fun and answer yes or no.  Wink

1791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 03, 2022, 04:25:14 PM
That's a very good point tokeweed. I was going along the similar line of thought that Wonderboy has become a little washed, but looking at the opponents, and actually thinking about their styles you're probably right. Although, at times he was definitely getting out struck in some of those fights.

Holland has the chance to make a statement here, and put a legend on his record. I don't know what others might think, but I consider Stephen a legend at this point. Probably one of the most unique fighting styles in the UFC, mainly due to his karate background. They're quite rare, and even when there are fighters with that sort of background they tend to ditch the karate stance.

Natan Levy has a traditional karate background and kinda fights in a karate stance...  For the first couple of minutes.  Then he gets hit in the face and all the karate is thrown out of the window.  Cheesy

Anyway..  Here are the results for the weigh ins.  One guy didn't make weight.

Stephen Thompson (170) vs Kevin Holland (170.5)
Bryan Barberena (170.5) vs Rafael dos Anjos (170)
Matheus Nicolau (126) vs Matt Schnell (126)
Sergei Pavlovich (255) vs Tai Tuivasa (266)
Roman Dolidze (185.5) vs Jack Hermansson (186)
Eryk Anders (186) vs Kyle Daukaus (184.5)
Niko Price (170) vs Phil Rowe (173.5)*
Emily Ducote (115.5) vs Angela Hill (115.5)
Clay Guida (154.5) vs Scott Holtzman (155.5)
Marc Diakiese (155.5) vs Michael Johnson (156)
Darren Elkins (145) vs Jonathan Pearce (146)
Tracy Cortez (125) vs Amanda Ribas (125)
Natan Levy (156) vs Genaro Valdez (156)
Francis Marshall (145) vs Marcelo Rojo (145)
Yazmin Jauregui (115.5) vs Istela Nunes (114.5)

*Missed weight

As for the betting side of things I think it's a parlayable event.  All the favorites should win except for a couple.  I got Anders and Rowe as underdogs.
1792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: December 03, 2022, 04:15:27 PM
Did anybody watch the ONE 164?  I loooved all of the matched except for a couple of them and sad to say the main event was kinda underwhelming if you saw the build up between Brooks and Pacio.  Brooks wasn't really going in the pocket and stayed mostly outside apart from the wrestling.  On the other hand it looked like Pacio got timid after the first round and kinda looked like he was just waiting most of the time.

Overall still a good event.  I'll say it again, ONE is way better than Bellator.

Here are the results...

1793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 02, 2022, 04:06:09 PM
^  I don't blame you, and if I were to bet, I'd also go for Holland.  But he has to use some offensive wrestling here instead of trying to out strike the guy.  A lot of people thinking Thompson is old and washed, me included, but I go back and see the last couple of losses were vs really good wrestlers and the last couple of wins were vs a prime Luque and the hard hitting Geoff Neal.

Those who is an expert in betting, dont you happen to know if it is possible to place a bet only on a fight outcome ? I mean is it possible to bet that the fights end method will be a KO, but without selecting who is going to be a winner? I think Tai Tuivasa vs Sergey Pavlovich fight is going to end with a KO, I just dont know who is going to be more accurate or lucky that day. These two has total of 26 KOs in 30 fight  Shocked

Hah yeah..  Would be cool if we could have those kinds of props.  Other good ones could be betting for the over and the under on TD's and total strikes.
1794  Economy / Speculation / BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 02, 2022, 03:51:01 PM
Ok...  November wasn't really that great for BTC.  To recap, it was doing great the first couple of days and looked like it was finally starting to break out and trend up higher until the FTX fiasco spoiled the party.  But then around November 22, the market seemed not to care anymore and started going up again.

The chart below doesn't really look all that good but if you have been following the price action everyday it feels like there aren't a whole lot of sellers left.  So hence the poll.

1795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: December 02, 2022, 03:05:04 PM
^  That's the thing, if Holland took a striking heavy approach, I think Thompson will be a problem.  Holland will have a hard time closing the distance as Thompson is mostly light on his feet and could kick from different angles.  It could prolly end up something like point fighting for Thompson.  Dunno...  But yeah, the last couple of losses were from fighters who are really good at wrestling.  Then again it's also possible that Thompson is washed.

Edit:  As for the odds, Holland at 1.57, Thompson at 2.36.  Oh...  Not much value for Thompson.  Lol.  I thought I saw he was at 2.75 or something.  :/  My bad.

There are some talks about Sebastian Vettel taking a little break at first, but then becoming a team principle.

I know that Horner and Toto is solid at where they are and won't change, but if it is possible then Ferrari, or even Aston Martin that he left, or any other team that takes him could really have a huge chance. This dude is the epitome of a great driver who understands the car, like Lewis for example is a great racer, but he is great racer behind the wheel, but when he is out, he is just a fashion icon or whatever, whereas Vettel understands the car itself just like an engineer as well and that could really turn a team into a marvellous future if he can be hired.

It's def a possibilty...  Vettel becoming a team principal I mean.  But def not a team principal for Ferrari.  Vettel lost his hair in that team as obv there was a lot of team politics at play.  He even said that he wanted to as Schumacher for advice on the finer side of team politics.  But it wasn't possible because of Schumacher's skiing accident.

Back in the day in Red Bull, Vettel would be beside Horner when he got a DNF and just be looking at the monitors or in the garage he'd be talking to Newey to understand more about the car.  And it was said that he worked very closely with his engineers in the garage, working all night until the wee hours in the morning.  So yeah...

He'll prolly be groomed to be Red Bull's team principal to replace Horner.

I'm more looking forward for the other ONE event happening this weekend.

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/91288-one-championship-164

I don't really know who these fighters are but the main event looks to me like it's between two guys who love to bang til one of them gets cracked.  Lol.  The champ is a Filipino guy at 125 but the dude looks like he could be at 135.  The other guy is American who looks like he has a wrestling background.  Should be good.

I also like the event from Singapore because I know some fighters there mostly Filipino fighters and their Muay Thai event where Superlek Kiatmoo9 is fighting that guy is really SUPER, a literal super in his name aswell, and the Return of Brandon "The Truth" Vera and mostly fights for those Filipino fighters Joshua Pacio, Geje Eustaquio, Jeremy Pacatiw, Jhanlo Mark Sangiao, Adonis Sevilleno, and Jenelyn Olsim most Filipino I would surely support them, and the beautiful Fighting kitten Lara Fernandez, She is not Pinoy but that is one hot chick,

^  Wait...  There's a fine if a Russian flag is displayed by the fighter?  I know Russian flags were disallowed in F1 but I didn't notice it was also the same in the UFC or even football.
No flags of any country will be carried by any fighter and that is the new policy by the UFC, if any fighters violate them, there wont be any fine but probably released from the UFC and that is how Dana White usually conducts business, his way or the highway  Cheesy.

Yeah..  But I think some people are trying to pin the issue totally on Dana White or the UFC.  He has his hands tied and he prolly doesn't give a fk which flag you wave around during walk outs.  You could wave a flag around that says the UFC sucks and he wouldn't care.  It's the United States gov imposing those rules as Russia is currently 'the enemy'.  It's a weird time.

Anyway, you guys got any picks and bets for this weekend's event?  There are some pretty good match ups in here...  Levy vs Valdez is gonna be good, Price vs Rowe, Hermansson vs Dolidze, Tuivasa vs Pavlovich and Nicolau vs Schnell.

It's always weird when politics takes over. The war sometimes extends to MMA matches.
Tuivasa is the only recognizable name on the list. Will go for Holland as long as he isn't fighting Khamzat.

Not just to MMA but they extend to all other sports and sporting events.  In F1 a Russian racer whose dad is an oligrach and somewhat connected to Putin was given the sack by his own team.  In EPL football, Roman Abramovich was forced to sell his football club Chelsea as he was getting hassled left and right.  It's crazy.

And yeah, I think there's only amfew guys itt who watches UFC events from start to finish.  To that I say, give it a chance, read about the fighters, the news, etc etc...

As for Holland vs Thompson, at first glance I got Holland but the more I look into it, Holland should win but I think the line should be closer imho.  Thompson's last couple of matches were against really in wrestling but Holland,  ot so much.  If Holland is gonna go into a striking battle then he's playing into Thompson's strengths.

^  Speaking of NFT's, I was just thinking about that and the criteria for finding the next great 1000x.  I think one of the rules could be applicable for NFT's and that is it has to have a doge logo.  Wink

Remember, one reason that I made that the criteria is because of Elon Musk.  As said, the guy could sneeze about doge and the thing pumps more than 10% in a day.  What more for highly illiquid markets like NFT's.

In this case I think the best advice is to always be one of the early birds when investing in any projects, nothing beats getting your tokens at a very cheap price and wait for a better pump.

1000x is not something that happens everything so it makes no sense hunting for one, those who invested in Shiba Inu at early stage wasn't expecting that incredible gains, belief me.

It is important to remember that not every new project can grow, in 2021 we will have thousands of projects, and only Shiba will be able to do that. It can be said that there will still be projects that can bring profit x1000 but finding it is not easy. In my opinion now is not the time to start hunting for those hidden gems but we should wait for the signs of bull season to make them easier to find.
not only in 2021 but specially in ICO days , remember that thousands if not million that fails and scam investors this is why the ICO days are gone and died with those scammers.

SHIB  on the other hand still not posing big potential aside from being Pump and dump meme coin.
a copy cat of dogecoin and another baby of Elon Musk.
