Can anybody tell me wtf did I just wake up to?  I see there's a Binance vs FTX feud but is it really that bad to get the whole market to sell down?  If so then this whole industry we're in will be looked at as one big joke.

And as I said if BTC fails to hold 20k then the bears have it.  Looking at the chart right now...  Yup, bears really have it.  :/  Just as when I was starting to think we're getting out of the woods, market says nope!  Cheesy

It's breaking down June lows.  Stay safe guys.

^  Yeah looks like it.  And no, I don't think it will go up a lot as these things need time going from sideways to slight trend up then trend up then finally a full blown pump.  It's going to take years just like the last couple of times.

What I really want to know his if we could start aping in without fear that we could be seeing another huge drop again.  If not, I'll be happy to start buying and build a good stack before everything starts going crazy positive again.
1886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 07, 2022, 06:20:59 PM
Phew, Spurs. Typical late rally. Every defensive player of ours save Robinson not at their best, Fabinho's been stuck in some hopeless run of poor games. But points are all that matter.

times are changing, and wishes with them, from title contender, now Liverpool is trying to reach CL, and it will be difficult with Arsenal, Tottenham, United, but also Newcastle (I would count out Chelsea from CL already)
Arsenal and Chelsea still without much fire, goalless

waiting for Newcastle, they are a good value @1.8, Southampton is playing same home/away, and bookies are valuing them more at home

Liverpool only know how to do badly in streaks under Klopp. Backing them all the way to do another 20/21 special though! You really think Chelski are out? They need Kante back, is all, and not another Sterling/Pulisic/Havertz etc silky pretender who wilts in Prem games.

I think we can stop calling them Chelski now as the mad Russian has gone and sold the club.  Sad

Anyway Arsenal!  I'm starting to see some comments online saying Arteta as something like a football tactical genius.  But is he?  I'm kinda back and forth about it.  He's a decent manager at the very least and the thing is Guardiola saw something in him when he made Arteta his assistant at City, grooming him to be his replacement at the time.

I guess the biggest test of the season for Arteta is going against his mentor.  :/

^  I'm kinda hopeful Adesanya would show us something new...  Like a new shade in his overall game plan like going for TD's?  As I said before, I feel like Adesanya has to incorporate some wrestling against Pereira and get his arms fatigued and take away some of that powerrr.  And if he has to do it, he has to do it early.  Like the first couple of rounds.  Dunno...  Just my humble opinion.

If Adesanya does do it again like he did Cannonier, k.  But it's gonna be risky.

Juggy, Haaland doesn't need 90 mins but I went for boring Mitrovic cause Fulham will keep a clean sheet today. Ha ha ha.

Haaland needs 30 minutrs tops.  But we'll see.

See, as it turns out, he only needed 10 minutes, even if it was ruled out offside, it was nominal and proves why you pick him if he's even playing 30 minutes. He knows exactly how to score goals, KdB knows exactly how to supply it. It was just so annoying to see how easy the assist was, everyone could see it coming for miles, yet no one could do anything about it except VAR.

Penalty given to Haaland of course, too, to complete the 30 minutes debut with a goal. Wasn't a good pen tbh haha.

Also, I had no idea Mitrovic has been injured for so long (another guy I'd pick even 25% fit) thanks Serbia haha. Makes note to remind myself to put picks in early so I can at least research.

Yup the guy has a knack for finding the back of the net.  And under Guardiola's tutelage he could be great.  I'm not really sure if he's gonna be 'Ronaldo great' or 'Messi great' but it could be close and could be deserving to 'have his own table' if you know what I mean.

Anyway, I'm looking at the World Cup brackets..  It could be a lot of fun.  I think I'm gonna bet on the outrights and parlay them with really good favorites of UFC events.  Not too degen, playing it safe.  I need to win once in a while.  Lolol.
1889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 06, 2022, 03:55:57 PM
The event turned out to be a banger of a card.  There were 11 matched and just two went the distance.

Results here:   https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/91921-ufc-fight-night

And wow, didn't expect Lemos to turn up the heat vs Rodriguez but it's Rodriguez's own fault.  She wasn't giving enough pressure at R1 to make Lemos slow down around R2 as she has bad cardio.

But yeah...  That's that.  Here's the countdown vid for 281!  Weeeee!

I don't care about the prize tbh.  I love hand history analysis and have been doing it a lot back in the day.  Just make a football bet with the prize or something and we watch the match.  That'll be something that's going to make us happy.  Wink

I suggest Liverpool to win and BTTS combo vs Tottenham.

And please post more of your hand histories here itt to avoid spam.  Would be glad to help as it helps me too in a way.  It's good practice away from the tables.

^  I'm just checking the scores at Flashscore and I'm seeing City is 1 - 1 vs Fulham and has commited a red card.  I think I should start watching the match now as it has become more interesting.

Anyway, what do you guys think of Liverpool to win and BTTS combo at 3.65?  Good value?  I know Liverpool has been losing lately but against clubs at somewhat their level, Klopp and his boys seem more motivated to get the W.  And I chose BTTS 'yes' because it's hard to imagine they'll get a clean sheet against Kane, Son and co.
1892  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for November on: November 05, 2022, 03:23:17 PM
It’s all up to the fed. It all boils down to FOMC tomorrow.

Basically if the rumors are correct and they will be dovish then we will get a bullish month. So far many other central banks pulled back on hikes and there was some QE with others. So people are speculating the same for the fed.

However there is the chance that they will be hawkish as before since these rate hikes didn’t do much to tame inflation just yet.

I will vote tomorrow on this poll.

Looks like the US stock market didn't like what the FOMC had to say.  Lol.  But the thing is even if the S&P 500 ended the day down 2% in the red, BTC still held 20k which I think is def a positive sign.  There's prolly not enougn sellers left to push the price down below 17k lows.

Anyway...  There are 10 votes for 'yes' and just 1 vote for 'no'.  C'mon, who voted no..?  Maybe we should have another poll guessing who voted no.  Who's been negative and bearish lately?  Cheesy

Not me,  Grin

I will agree that even if we have negative news, the price wasn't move that much and the support of $20k hold which surprises me. There are still fighting in the middle though, I see some selling but the buyers are there to pick those cheap bitcoins.

So yeah, probably we are not going to see any lower lows for this year. Come December we might see another bullish month, before we closes this year.

Yup it's prolly that and it could also be the crypto market is starting not to care what's going on with the more established markets anymore.  Lol.  At the end of the day crypto is still young and still is the wild wild west of finance.  It could move in a whole different direction while everything else is moving the opposite way.  Dunno...  It's just how I see it.  Crypto is must a different animal that could play by a different set of rules.

We'll see how it goes in these weird times but as long as it stays above 20k, the bulls have it.
1893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Sentiment Poll for November on: November 05, 2022, 03:13:51 PM
I really have strong guts because we also need to consider the Bitcoin block halving will happen in the year 2024, so within 1 year, there are still a lot of things to happen.
But if Ethereum will manage to hold above $1,000 then the bottom is already in for me, because the bottom in the year 2022 is the top of 2018 when bear market started that time.

With ETH emissions going way down since after the merge, I think ETH has more of a chance to hold 1k USD than BTC holding 20k USD.  All around there's just less sell pressure in ETH as the ETH miners are now out of the equation.

And it's not just that...  Come the next bull market, ETH could out perform BTC again and gain more in market cap than BTC can gain more for itself and make the gap between them smaller.  I feel like the 'flippening' narrative could be taken a lot more seriously at the next bull market.  Dunno...

^  Kewl.  I just saw the World Cup one and made all my picks.  I think I made the most common obvious picks anybody who has an idea about football could make.  Lol.

Anyway, here are my picks for the Majestic 7 for the next set of fixtures.

Mbuemo
Rodrigo
Trossard
Haaland
Calvert Lewin
Martinelli
Bowen.

I'm not really very confident with these picks so I'll prolly at least win some free bets...?
Looks good except for Bowen, I believe he lost penalties to Scamacca so now he is my to go man for West Ham. Anyway does somebody know what is the cut off time for Majestic 7? I would prefer to see line ups for early games before making my predictions. That is especially a case for City, they have the easiest fixture this week but high probability of Haaland and Foden not starting. De Bruyne is the only one I would be confident picking if i had to do it at this moment.

@tokeweed why did you select Haaland because he may not play much even if he makes it to the squad, hence that’s a bad selection in my personal opinion. Furthermore I expect that there will be some upsets with your selection as I’m expecting few favourites team’s to crash out, but then I could be wrong too as it’s more of a gut based feeling based on their form of their last few matches.

Yeah I'm aware he missed the last couple of matches and thought he could start this time around.  And looking at the line up now, it looks like I was wrong.  Lol.  I hope he comes in around the 60th minute tho and have ample time to get one in or at least get the opportunities.

The matches start in around a minute.  Good luck with your picks guys...

Literally submitted my picks moments before kickoff haha. All in a rush but who knows, rando favs get me lucky.

Edit- I had an hour to spare haha. FJ had the time in GMT.

Switched back to regular go getters today, cept for Trossard, so that means Antonio and Jesus on my list even though they haven't had the chance to be prolific lately (injury the former, form the latter).

Juggy, Haaland doesn't need 90 mins but I went for boring Mitrovic cause Fulham will keep a clean sheet today. Ha ha ha.

Haaland needs 30 minutrs tops.  But we'll see.

^  Heeey welcome back!

It's not that I'm being spoiled and want more action or anything.  I do appreciate the finer parts of the game which I've def seen some people find it boring like the wrestling and the grappling side of MMA.  It's just Adesanya talks big, almost berating his opponents and then when it gets in the cage, nothing...  It was just the last three of his last matches tho.  And the one vs Yoel Romero.
I didn't mean that you are spoiled, but when you watch people in US arenas are starting to boo any fight that is not full of blood and kick punching action.
Adesanya is one of the smartest MMA fighters and I don't expect him to change anything major in his fight style, but I want to see him making more risk sometimes.
I am sure his next fight with Alex Pereira will be very interesting to watch, his biggest challenge in Middleweight category.

True true but what can we do and how can we blame them.  Those people really went out of their way to go to the event, pay their hard earned money and go him in disappointment.  What I think Adesanya should do himself is tone down with all the talk during the build up going to the event.  The last one was really disappointing imho.  He was talking about how he wanted to express himself inside the cage and how he wants to show the world what he can do vs Cannonier.  Come fight day it was...  -_-

Hey guys, we're back for another sentiment poll for the month of November.  I present this chart below without any comments, predictions or any of my personal opinions.  I'm more interested in what you think and any insights you guys have with regards to the poll.  So yeah...  Just vote and drop a line or two and let's see where we are by the end of November.  Wink

But I gotta say...  It has been looking good.

1898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 04, 2022, 01:39:46 PM
^  Brighton and Nottingham Forest are really a league apart tho.

Quite an interesting bet and with big odds between the two, but I chose Arsenal as the favourite.
this is a difficult match in my opinion so I don't bet choosing both, because in my opinion they are equally strong and will maintain their position in the standings, even though the odds of winning are 50% and I'm sure one of them will come out as a winner or a draw, I hope you win the bet choose Arsenal, good luck

A difficult match indeed but Arsenal if they want to be staying ahead of City they are forced to win this game.Of course this is no easy task especially after consecutive bad results in the Premier League from Chelsea,at least they saved their face in the Champions League by winning during the midweek game. Most probably is going to end a draw and also most probably going to end both teams to score yes.I personally fancy an Arsenal win though in this weekend derby of London.

Cheslea hasn't had a loss at home yet this season.  Arsenal on the other hand has had one loss vs United and it was an away match for the Gunners.  It comes down to being another 'big test' for Arsenal as far as away matches are concerned.  They're schedule in away matches were kinda soft after the loss at Old Trafford, going against Brentford, Leeds and Southampton.

I think I had this match at 2 - 2 in hilarious' EPL pool.
1899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | Group Stage on: November 04, 2022, 01:29:15 PM
I think the clubs that have a real shot to go to the finals and win it are Man City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.  Not really sure about the rest but Liverpool could be a dark horse and may Napoli too.  I'll prolly start watching the CL a lot more closer as the KO stages awaits!

They missed the UCL because so long not to come, so Man City bought Haaland for quite a expensive.  Pep really longs to be able to bring a big ear to Man City. If I'm not mistaken, Man City have never been able to win when coached by Pep.   I agree that those three teams have a great chance of advancing to the semifinals. But I'm a big favourite with Man City, although there may be a lot of surprises that I can't predict. I'm looking forward to the draw for the first knockout round. When will it be done?

Oh for sure.  Did anybody itt see the video when they got eliminated at the semi final?  I think it was the UCL season before the one last year or was it the other year..  But anyway, in the video Pep and his coaches were thowing and smashing stuff in frustration and shouting 'why is the Champions League hard?'.  Something like that.

And I'd argue that the price tag for Haaland is 'expensive'.  I mean yes it is but City get what they paid for which makes it worth it.  So in the long run the club will reap more than the expense.
1900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 04, 2022, 01:17:51 PM
I used to be an Adesanya fan when he first came in the UFC.  But as time passed along, he became really cringey in interviews and press conferences.  And when it's time to fight his match in the cage, he became a bit boring the last couple matches.  It's prolly for stylistic reasons but still...  He got a bit boring.  But this one vs Pereira could get dicey for him as you guys already know why.  Then again could we see Adesanya add some wrestling in his game?  I think we could see Adesanya do more than a couple of TD's.  Dunno...  I feel like he has to.
Maybe he was always like that and we just didn't know him well before he signed contract with UFC.
He is not boring for me to watch, and some spoiled people are expecting fighters should always perform with KO's like monkeys in circus, it doesn't work like that.
Adesanya always liked to play on safe side to receive smallest amount of punches possible, or he would end up like Diaz brothers with bloody scar faces.
