I noticed this topic immediately after the OP published it on the board (I have notification for meta is ON). The reactions I am seeing are as I expected. I guess I just became a fortune-teller  Digaran,why did you resign from being a merit source? Scratch that,you apparently knew that you were unfit for the community. So why again reapply?
Can anyone bring me a reference that says the resignation came from him? By the way OP, thanks for all the entertainments which are keeping us (can not guarantee others but me for sure) engaged. This is only teaching how to change the 2FA of your Google Account to a new device. It has nothing to do with other websites (specifically Kraken). 2FA codes from Google Authenticator aren't stored anywhere, so you can't "recover" them. OP can't restore his codes. He will need to contact every website support and ask for help. From the same article above: [...] You'll need to visit each site individually and scan the QR code with your new device.
That's why I use andOTP (lets me backup my encrypted codes to the cloud). Seems like you are right mate. I am trying to get a hand on Authy seems like then have a backup system. I wanted to see andOTP, hack my phone is showing errors... can't figure out the issue. |

When you create contents, make sure you focus on quality not quantity because good contents can help you to get merits. This might help... I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by:
- Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc.
- Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.
While we will not be directly moderating this, I encourage people to give merit to posts that are objectively high-quality, not just posts that you agree with.
Do not beg for merit excessively.

I can't really say if it's spamming or not. Because creating 16 post within one and a half hour is clearly possible, specially if you're having interaction with one of the members here in the forum. But with these services that are translated to one another, i can't say.
Although the report button is at the bottom right of each individual posts. You can click it and state there whatever you think the member did wrong or violated.
You completely misunderstood the whole scenario I am talking about creating topics not engaging in conversations. |

We could charge a $50 fine for every red tag removal for garbage posters and not scammers. then forum could pay that money to hire more moderators to deal with garbage posters. they should pay the price. if they keep posting garbage after paying the fine and having their red tags removed, we should tag them again and then increase the amount of the fine for the next removal of their red tags. Your sales speech is not strong enough IMO to change the merit structure. You are thinking while wearing your own shoes  ...any tips you good guys have on how or where do I have to be to get them merits?
I suggest Instead of commenting on everything create some good contents that will benefit the members. It's not that complected at all to receive merits. Examples are all around your. You chose which side to take... Stay the way you are or with those who are receiving merits constantly?

I disagree comparing with grading system. It's not any institution that you have a curriculum/syllabus to follow. Merit awarding view for two persons is not the same. Receiving merit depends on few things... # Someone with having sMerits reading your posts # His mood on that specific time while s/he reading # Their taste of reading etc There are no certain rule to spend sMerits which turns to merit for you. I certainly agree with other views you provided. It's a place of seeking knowledge and hanging out with the community. |

Yes, for sure it will be scam. Make sure you give them enough time to review your documents. Don't take any harsh step unless you are completely satisfied that they are not giving your the access of your account after having everything valid from you. I was wondering why is this aggressive and frustrating title LOL I have no doubt that theymos does not love the forum, he himself is human. Put yourself in his shoes. How would YOU manage a BIG community like BitcoinTalk if you were him? IMO it's not easy task. Make a topic in the local section and discuss this demonstrating that there is a need for a new moderator. Try to find a list of names that is a consensus. Then send this list to Theymos.. It is not an election, but a list would help him to decide which one to nominate. Yes, this is more reasonable one. Discuss it in the local section. If the local board really are in need of new moderator then just ask theymos with your nominee. |
