2741  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto chip sales plummet on: August 26, 2018, 06:10:32 PM
Nvidia released absolutely dismal sales related to crypto chip sales today after market close. This is another sign to me that the bear market is not reversing any time soon.
I think it is the other way around. The decline of sales by the gpu manufacturer will only mean that the prices of cryptocurrencies could not keep up to the miner's expense that is why they don't see gpu mining profitable anymore. The decrease in sales of gpus does not mean that the bear market will still continue there is no point on connecting that, it just simply mean that the prices of cryptocurrencies and the block rewards they are getting is simply not appealing or profitable for them to still continue. Or it just simply mean that all the willing miners out here possibly are satisfied with the mining rigs they all have and has no plans of buying additional hardware anymore, especially when the new RTX gpu series of NVIDIA is about to launch.
2742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Casino Question on: August 24, 2018, 02:15:45 AM
Obviously this question needs to be answered by your partners and not in this forum. But to give you an idea starting your own Bitcoin casino will need a lot of money especially your bankroll needs to be sufficient for high rollers because you don't want that to be drained with just one day. Also maybe observing some gambling sites might help becauae you can actually see all of the player's bets and results with their provably fair system.
2743  Economy / Gambling / Re: SafeDICE.com ★ Bitcoin Dice ★ Monero ★ 0.5% Edge ★ Fast Cashout ★ Since 2014 on: August 23, 2018, 09:15:59 PM
I am pretty sure your funds are safe.

This admin is just very slow to respond to tickets. Basically it has been like this for years.

If you read back a few pages the motto for this site is "Its called SAFEdice because due to your funds being stuck... they are safe from being gambled".

I've commented on this thread a bunch of times, commanding the admin to hire someone to direct support - even part time. Because every few days or so, there is some issue that doesn't get addressed for days and days and people start calling it a scam since they don't get a reply.

I don't know but this is the first time I have seen SafeDice down for this long, they should have at least have a support staff updating the status of the website in order to keep their members' minds at bay. By the way did SafeDice replied to your suggestion? Because even if they did I don't think they have added any additional staff in their casino. What SD is doing with slow withdrawals and long down times is making them have more dissatisfied customers which will eventually be leaving the gambling site for good.
2744  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: where to sell my BTC (internationally) on: August 23, 2018, 04:10:45 PM
Don't worry about it too much, if the market priced Bitcoin at 100,000$ they would exchange it for 100,000$ in fiat. If they are a legit and registered company then they have the obligation to pay on what you have and how much it was priced during that time. I did a quick check on their website and everything looks legit as they also have AML compliance with their users as well as career opportunity for developers in their company I even check some Reddit pages about it and everything checks out. Now if you still having doubts or you still have a gut feel that they would runaway I suggest transferring and storing your 1 BTC in a local wallet provider as they also have the function of buying your BTC for Fiat, keep in mind that they also require KYC for a certain amount of transaction.
2745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Didn't send enough bitcoin to pay for a service on: August 23, 2018, 03:03:49 PM
What exactly are you buying that 6 decimal digits is not enough? I think the solution here is you just round up your payment to the millionths place to make it ample to what you need, because .000009BTC is only worth .058$ right now which I don't think is worth it for you to go in a lot of trouble. With the thing you just did just by sending a payment that is not enough you might be having trouble on finding and getting the refund back which is a very big problem that you will face they might not even be able to record your transaction officially, what you can only do now is try to contact the website and show them the tx id of your transaction, sometimes coordinating with their staff might solve the problem.

EDIT:
Can I just send my remaining bitcoin to the same address to kind of "fill" the gap that's needed?
I wouldn't do that, did the website coordinated and instructed you to send the remaining balance? If not please don't do it at all as you might now have 2 transactions that is not valid for the website. Just try to contact them first.
2746  Other / Meta / Re: Please help me on the issue of posting posts on: August 23, 2018, 02:16:49 PM
so i can report my programs. I am afraid that if posted too many times can not report
^ This right here is what keeps your posts being deleted, aside from your posts in the bounty campaigns your other remaining posts are containing very bad grammar, you cannot even put the word "i" in the right case. If you want your posts not to be deleted do not make them look spammy in other words you must put up a well thought post with good grammar. Putting up some general and common answers with a very bad grammar will increase the chances of your post being reported by other members.
2747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung says that smartphones are the safest way to store cryptocurrencies on: August 23, 2018, 10:29:17 AM
They do have specified that smartphones are the best option to store your cryptocurrencies for short to medium term storage. Which I am inclining to agree on, remember if you are expecting to spend cryptocurrencies within that year the best wallet you will be using is of course mobile wallets as this is ideal for payments on the go, of course you don't expect to be holding cryptos worth millions to mobile wallet apps but keeping a few thousands won't hurt as it is safe depending on the level of your security from both the app and yourself to your phone.

I remembered the first time I downloaded my local wallet it asked me if I want to use my finger print as a way to unlock my wallet or a regular 6 digit pin or even both. I chose the 2 modes of security in order to protect my BTC more. It does not hurt by adding a little bit more protection to your cryptos on the go.
2748  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-22] China Bans All Crypto Events After Spending $3 Billion to Fund Bloc on: August 23, 2018, 09:37:18 AM
This news article might be confusing to a lot of people as it contains yet again several other news reports combined into one article. The ban issued was only to the Chaoyang District, which is only one District of China. The ban therefore itself is only effective in that district. This news article is acting like the ban is in full effect in the whole country. Please do not confuse local government ordinances to laws as just like what this news article did where it concluded that the whole country of China has this memorandum in full effect. Also local news like this one really don't need to be spread internationally as it can give the wrong idea to a lot of people especially to the ones who really don't read and understand the news.
2749  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US Taxes and Crypto on: August 22, 2018, 09:37:26 PM
Thank you Guys Smiley
please correct me if I am wrong. Assume I have couple of LTC and I want to  exchange it.. to lets say NEO or EOS you are telling me it is taxable event? Meaning, I will be taxed twice even though it is just 1 investment (assume, I bought 2 LTC , then I exchanged LTC to NEO and sell NEO lets say in the same fiscal year -- bought, exchange and sell  ? What about Like for Like? is it applicable here?
Nope, capital gains tax does not apply on each of your transactions/trade, just like how income tax works capital gains is recorded annually and it is based on the increase/decrease on your capital from the start to the end of that year. The only difference in rate would be your tax bracket you are under and if it belongs to a short term or long term capital gains tax. In the example you gave us this will be classified as short term capital gains as the buy and sell happened within the one fiscal year. Anything above 1 year after selling will then be classified it to a long term capital gains tax.
2750  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦋www.bet-well.com🦋 Unique Betting Platform for Cryptocurrency Price Prediction on: August 22, 2018, 08:55:24 PM
This is not the trading site, so you cannot trade your tokens to any other currency than ETH.

This is a platform where you are predicting the price of the most known Cryptocurrencies (so far BTC, ETH and XRP) and if you get the prediction right you get paid. You get paid from the people who didn't predict correct.

This has many advantages - so lets say that BTC goes up just 1% and you guest that right, you will earn profit. Now on trading platforms (ie Bitstamp) you would earn just this 1%, but here you could earn more than 100% of what you bet.

You are welcome to place a bet and check it yourself!
Please don't compare gambling to trading again. Yes if he is correct with his prediction of 1% gain in your gambling site he might (based on how you decribed that he won't win all the other parties' bets[1]) double his money. But the same thing can be said if he is wrong with his bet even with just 1% of a difference in the prices and he will surely lose 100% or all of his bet during that game unlike in trading where you will only lose 1% in terms of its paper value in his portfolio. So if you get what I am saying never compare your gambling site to trading to a newbie, they might have the wrong idea.

[1]
If you WIN you get your Tokens bet back plus a part of the Token (or Tokens) that other players lost (equal to your proportion of all winning bets).
2751  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-20] After the Bitcoin Boom: Hard Lessons for Cryptocurrency Investors on: August 22, 2018, 08:10:36 PM
That's what happens when investors jump into a investment they don't have any experience with, FOMO is really what set their portfolio on fire. Remember that you are really taking a big risk on catching up on a jumping cryptocurrency in the bull market when you haven't literally build any base with it yet. The result is you have a higher average compared to people who has already built a based and having a gain might take long as you really don't know on what price will it stop to go up. These is the typical scenario for those people who have bought BTC at 17,000$ and above during the December boom, the result is most of them have forgotten to offload their coins before they even get to taste their profits.

What to do with topics like these, report to a moderator?
You can either be part of the members cleaning the section or completely just ignore the section/s related to Altcoin discussion. If you choose the latter go to your Profile > Ignore Boards Preferences > Check boxes related to the Altcoin Discussion (Including Altcoin Discussions in Local Boards). By doing so you the boards you will check will be completely inaccessible to you, you can't even view them if you click the "Show unread posts since last visit" page which is very helpful as for my personal experience going to that page, you will see that most topics shown are ANN and Bounty threads of Altcoins.
2753  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Guide for getting + Merit on: August 22, 2018, 06:22:57 PM
This is very helpful for our newbie. To be honest, merit is very unfriendly to newbie. I just read the rank rules of the forum. I think that for a newcomer like me, I want to get 10 merits and then become Member takes a lot of time and may take more than 2 years.
How could you say that? You literally just have one post in the forum and your conclusion is "merit is unfriendly to newbie". I don't think you will last long in the forum expecting that ranking up will be easy here. Spammers and low quality posters have pushed the forum admins to create the merit system we have now and we all have to suffer the consequences, our rank is not associated with receiving more merits, it doesn't mean if we are Sr. Members and above we automatically are the favorites to receive merits, all of us must earn it and no matter what our rank is all of us must compose a well thought message that has no grammatical errors in it if we want to increase our chances of receiving even just one merit.
2754  Economy / Reputation / Re: MERIT ABUSERS, CHEATERS, ACCOUNT FARMERS - ICOForums Participants on: August 21, 2018, 07:01:28 PM
How I connected with those accounts?  Sending eth doesn't mean those are my alt accounts or connected account. 1st check those accounts post qualities than check my. This forum is full of fools and everyday it's increasing.
Oh please, this is not the first time you are caught having an alt account with, and actmyname actually have already tagged you with it. Yes sending ETH is not enough to say that Bushrat Jahan is your account but can you entertain us the reason why you are sending ETH to him? And also why you haven't posted a feedback about your transaction with him? Or is this just another case of "friends and family" and you are just sending money to the person who you just know for no reason? For a known multi-account user it is enough to convince any DT member to tag you again.
2755  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoins and a country's economy on: August 21, 2018, 06:04:47 PM
I can explain it in a lot of ways but it would take time if I did compose one. So think of it this way, citizens earning new money may it be mining, trading, or even just plainly accepting Bitcoin as a mode of payment will help the economy of that country as the new money flowing into their citizens' bank accounts would cycle to their country. The more money flowing inside their country would simply mean that their citizens would be giving the government a lot of cash in way of tax payments through their capital gains, income tax, and also other taxes that they usually pay in their country. But the cycle does not end there, the government having more cash would simply mean the government has more budget for projects, subsidies, and enforcement which will also give jobs back to their citizens. It is really just a cycle on how one thing can really improve the country's economy as a whole.
2756  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 Treasure Chest Is Back! 🎰🎰🎰 on: August 21, 2018, 04:27:56 PM
To be fair, they don't have much players, usually I see very low traffic here but situation here is like quality over quantity, plays bet huge amount of bitcoin, that's hard to see on other websites so regularly. Between sports bet and poker, to my mind for website sports bet will be more profitable because once FJ had poker with great design but there was a lack of customers while demand on sports betting is high. They need to get more popular and promoting of newly added sports betting will play a huge role in overall.
Exactly if they added more games without new players or even a demand for new games they would be creating themselves an internal competition between their games. There won't be an influx of more money the old players will just divide up what they currently spending on the other games the gambling site have added. It would simply mean two things no players on the new game or if they do have players it is their old members trying it out and they just simply divided what they are currently betting in the site.
2757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has 54% of the cryptocurrency market on: August 20, 2018, 08:41:33 PM
We are just seeing the benefits of Bitcoin being the market leader, when the whole market is in turmoil what more can we do aside from focusing our funds to the market leader? Yes it is going down (some people offload their cryptocurrency holdings entirely) but a lot of people have transferred their funds to Bitcoin as their safe haven and by the time the market recovers I am pretty sure that they will go back to their own bets.

BTC is proving its use during this tough times and a lot of people are actually taking advantage of it. I myself personally sold all my ETH and XRP in order to buy BTC as I notice both of them is falling much faster than BTC. When the right time comes I'll buyback them at a cheaper price.
2758  Other / Meta / Re: Meta board flooded by account recovery thread ( ban/locked and hacked account) on: August 20, 2018, 05:41:29 PM
I really don't think that this is a problem at all as long as it is about an account recovery following the guidelines for recovering via a signed message as sometimes a follow up thread is something that is needed to be done in order to get the attention of the admins but what annoys me is account recovery threads for bans on the reason of copy and pasting these are the one who we really need to focus our attention on as they will really never recover their accounts as it is permaban.

Although they all do have the exception of creating a thread in the meta section these people who are banned from plagiarism are really annoying on how they beg to unlock their account and how they will never do it again, accounts banned due to plagiarism can never be recovered and there is no exception. What we can only do is to report these threads to be locked or deleted so that it won't be on the first page again.
2759  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin not the choice of criminals anymore on: August 20, 2018, 03:01:12 PM
One probability of the drop is because they are using other cryptocurrencies based on anonymity like Monero, Zcash, Ripple as tracking the transactions with this altcoins is much harder compared to what we see in the blockchain of BTC. The shift in cryptocurrecy used in crimes is pretty prevalent as already the exchanges in South Korea have delisted the aforementioned cryptocurrencies as per order of their government. The South Korean government has mentioned that millions has already been laundered with these coins and they hope that the delisting will help lessen the attempts made through these coins, however they still are figuring a way on how to stop it completely.
2760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: withdraw/request conversion error BTC - mBTC on: August 20, 2018, 02:13:55 PM
I did not convert BTC to mBTC when withdrawing from the exchange and received a smaller amount than what was withdrawn.

Ex: withdrew 0.01000 BTC from exchange and had requested (wallet) 0.01000 mBTC. I should have requested 10.0000 mBTC.

Is there a way to recover the rest of what I had requested from my wallet? What are my options?

Here your option is to make another withdraw... if you do a withdraw of 9.99mbtc then you will have the 0.01 btc in your wallet after it arrive. Sometimes deal with btc - mbtc could be confusing, so, do your math before any move or things like this will happen. if the exchanger charge you a fee for withdraw then this kind of mistakes have a cost, but take it as a good thing, we always learn from errors, i'm sure this will not happen to you again.  Wink
You should take into account the withdrawal fees (some major exchanges have a fee of .0005 BTC) associated in the exchange by doing another withdrawal request biggiescopes should expect less than .01 BTC as he will do another transaction for the remaining balance not unless he has aN extra amount of BTC meant for the fees he won't receive the whole .01 BTC.
