change bitcoin to btc://
2762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Opportunity and 4chan on: February 12, 2011, 10:33:17 AM
Now as for using BTC for donating to 4chan since the traditional pay operators won't accept them, that is a valid option.  It would only pull in those 4channers who were going to make a donation anyway, and would thus be more likely to think it through as a payment method rather than a get-rich-quick scheme.

+1

Use an escrow servie to hold your customers payment, do the site, if they're satisfied then you'll get payment. Clearcoin is a bitcoin escrow.

It's a good book, I just hope the movie adds more dept to the characters and doesnt mess up the message.

If it meets your requirements how much are you in for?
don't know, 300btc at least, depends on how much is needed, could be up to 1000btc or so.

Fair enough, will give more details over the coming days.
2766  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Looking for co-investor(s) for credit rating and bail bond system on: February 11, 2011, 09:03:33 PM
No I've already looked through some of your code for BC so I am a little familiar with what you've done. I think the most difficult thing is going to be getting facebook/linkedin integration working. I'm sure there are some ruby gems for this. I'll get back to you with more details on the engineering/design side.
facebooker gem does that well.

Also, do you want cash or the promise of future earnings (equity) in payment?
I'd rather get money upfront money than promises.
That's what the capital is for after all Wink

I'm wondering just how rich you are(regards bitcoin), you've been doing very well with bitcoin, feel free to leave me wondering.

Or you can just install mod_passenger for apache to run Rails apps as easily as PHP ones.

Yes it's a possibility. I'll have to think about it because my server architecture with apache is working well. Introducing a new mod for apache needs testing and security adjustment. I think it's easier and more customizable when you run your own server.
That's like saying you'd rather host PHP websites using WAMP because mod_php needs testing ...

Don't be too hard on him, he's not an IT professional so he doesn't know.

if you come up with a good plan,
i might be interested in investing.

would need some more info than "..it should have good income.." though, before i decide about the amount i'm willing to invest. Cheesy

I'll have more details in the next couple of days, but as far as income it will make I don't know, I can only come up with revenue sources, not guestimates for actual income.

If it meets your requirements how much are you in for?

I'm applying for the coder position. Do I need to present what I've already developed ?

This also means that all our development needs for this are covered for the moment.

2771  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Looking for co-investor(s) for credit rating and bail bond system on: February 11, 2011, 08:39:04 PM
Is this a marketplace or it will be a bitcoin corporation?

A bitcoin corporation that will provide these services and charge for them.

have you seen the bitcoin-otc web of trust? (link in sig)

Yes, the problem with otc-wot is that new users have no trust, this is a way to reduce the risk of working with new users, see original idea in link at top.

It will also integrate otc-wot into the rating system

Proposal:

I will pay 8 BTC for a $10 T-Mobile To Go refill code as offered in the other thread, under the following terms:

1. You must send the code first.  Once I receive it and successfully apply it to my account, I will send the bitcoins.
2. I will send the bitcoins directly to someone that you owe bitcoins to.

This requires agreement by both stevenbucks and someone who is owed bitcoins.  Any volunteers?  The bitcoin receiving address should be posted to the thread so anyone can verify that the payment was made.

I agree to this, but im not sure who get it first - i owe noagendamarket and bitlex the most and for the longest persiod of time, should i pay the ones who i owe the least "to take care of them" first, im not sure what to do

noagenda first, bitlex second. I;m probably last.
2774  Economy / Marketplace / Re: $10 t-mobile minutes for 8 bitcoins!!! on: February 11, 2011, 08:32:54 PM
Anyone thinking about doing business with this person should read this first, it's a bad idea until he has proven himself trustworthy.

He's offering a service that is needed and valued by his customers.  For your own self-interest, wouldn't it make more sense to ENCOURAGE him to be successful with it?

It seems things are being worked out, see other thread.

2775  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Something wrong with MtGox? on: February 11, 2011, 08:30:48 PM
I've never had any dealings with him so I can't say anything.
2776  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Something wrong with MtGox? on: February 11, 2011, 08:21:40 PM
Little under 2 weeks ago i decided to withdraw some money from my MtGox account, i was suprised to find i couldnt send it to my paypal account. So i requested a direct deposit transaction.

The owner requested the needed information like IBAN , name and address, since that it's been dead silent.
I sent two emails after that asking about the transaction, one over a week ago, one two days ago. No reply.

My account still tells me the cash is there, but i would realy like to get it transfered, so im wondering whats going on and if anyone else is experiencing similar issues.

isnt there a min amount withdrawal for bank to bank transfers of $800?

2778  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Stockmarket on: February 11, 2011, 08:17:31 PM

Yeah I'm working on it too.  I'm not sure how exactly would this be implemented.  I've experimented several solutions.

I want to mention something though.  Such a stock market doesn't have to be organised by corporations themselves.  Stocks can be sold on "second-hand", in a parallel market.

I've already sold 1 eBay share and 1 DRDGold share, using an auction process.  Search those terms in the marketplace forum.

That is meta-trading, and turns out is a different business model than a stock market. someone who is trusted needs to buy the original shares in their own name, and then trade the rights to those shares on a secondary market.

How are you having trouble with you stock market app? what language are you using? bash again?

2779  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Looking for co-investor(s) for credit rating and bail bond system on: February 11, 2011, 08:13:59 PM
I am up as a freelance developer or a low-level job of some kind.(Customer service? bug testing? Content writing?)

2780  Economy / Marketplace / Re: To the people i owe - my goals and offer list. on: February 11, 2011, 08:09:06 PM
I would say that whenever he's doing some work for someone from now on, the payment should be sent directly to the people he owes money.

That's a good idea, actually.

could be made a part of the bail bond system.
