People are opening longs at 0.75% a day FFS! The entire USD Long end has been wiped...

Last time this happened, the price dropped 30% the 30 days following the spike. Obviously, this isn't reason to believe it will happen again in that same way, but it is a possible warning sign.

Is all the USD in long positions or simply reserved?
Dont know.. probably reserved now that you mention it.

If they wanted to collect coins, why wouldn't they just market order everything that wasnt theirs on $300? Or, some of the 7k+ that has been on or under $300 on BFX? Doesn't make sense.

It also doesnt make sense for it to be a real wall, unless they think this is the best way to offload a bunch of coins... (other exchanges rally, people go nuts on his wall, what happens after he don't care)

Loaded is a multimillionaire. And so are his friends and investors. If you think he can't push up the price because he already has tons of bitcoins, and all of his and his friends money are already in bitcoin, then you are dumb.

We are moving up so fucking deal with it, and quit trying to make an excuse for every bit of good news just because you shorted or sold at the bottom.

lol angry bagholders dont want their moment of euphoria ruined. like i said, last time he came and winked all of you delusional bulls did the same thing.

You and tarmi are sounding increasingly worried..

Worried about what, exactly?

Auction coins went for a good price. All I can say on the subject.

Good = high or good = low?

Probably above market, which is good. But does it really mean anything? No. It still relieved 50k of demand...

Who cares about Loaded? Last time he made a winky face the price was a lot higher, and people thought that somehow his wink predicted a new bubble. He's a guy with a lot of bitcoins, he can't push the price up.

wow!  Shocked

Unfortunately it's not being wired to an exchange.. We'd be into the 1000s with that lol
288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 09, 2015, 10:38:36 PM
bids getting thinner and thinner.. longs prepare for the squeeze.
I dont know about a squeeze, but the bids are thinning. Probably a fake wall, but Bitstamp did get about 4k of asks on 300 at once, so they look very unhappy with the current price.

Downward detour likely..

Finex wall was real, and eaten.

I missed it, what happened? All I can see is the 7m USD bidsum on Bitfinex, up from $4.8m earlier today...

Oh, so you're saying it's because of the dollar. But what do you think that means in terms of bitcoin?

I'm saying it's happening on Kraken because of the weak euro. I don't think it says much about bitcoin. (But higher bitcoin prices in USD on the other exchanges is positive for bitcoin.)
Ah, sorry, I misunderstood.

So far so good for the rise. Bids arent being retracted to market order, instead theyre up nearly 1/4th on BFX since the rise started. Very nice! Only 2k of shorts closed, too, so that's good.

Huobi looks overbought though. Generally when they are so one-sided it's gonna end up moving the unexpected direction.
292  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 09, 2015, 05:51:21 PM
ooh, $294 gonna fall tonight?
Certainly looks that way. Lots of nice bids piling up on BFX. Shorts closing though, so anything too spectacular is bound to collapse back down, at least temporarily.

Long term downtrend breakout on Kraken BTC/EUR 1m.  Smiley

Had to look this up. It's true. QE in the Eurozone might be a driver for rising bitcoin prices.
Small exchanges do random things all the time. There is no significance if they break an uptrend or downtrend before any of the real exchanges. Not to say they all wont. But who cares about Kraken?

It's not a random thing. The price is lower than on Bitstamp.

It still doesn't matter what an exchange that small does. It wouldn't matter if someone dumped down to $10 on Kraken. They mean nothing.

It's the USD/Euro exchange rate that makes this happen now. Not that Kraken is a small exchange.
Oh, so you're saying it's because of the dollar. But what do you think that means in terms of bitcoin?

To be honest, I hope we won't see a rally.

A slow and steady rise from here would be very bullish.

I hope this, too.

IMO a slow rising price provides the most pain to the market atm, as both, bears and bulls are stay uncertain about the possible outcome.
This. When the price moves too quick, shorts and longs fuel the rise/drop. So if this were to go to $300 you know the shorts will be around 13k or less. What happens then? More shorts open. Price falls again. If it goes up slowly, shorts will close and new ones will open, longs will open and others will close. Sustainable.

Buy $273.81

Im not sure if this is allowed? (I'm buying like the instant after a nice buy on BFX to $275). Ticker yielded $273.20, then I refreshed and it said $273.81.. so I chose the higher one.

Edit 2: And now they've bought up to $277 lol.

Edit 3: Doesn't look like such a steal anymore. I feel like this is gonna go down hard before my 8 hour trade delay is over
