281  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: spec thread on how to do the ckpool-solo club on: May 20, 2015, 05:53:00 PM
@ jonnybravo0311   thanks

@ BitcoinPappi  please let us have  a btc addy in profile

@ mavericklm   please let us have  a btc addy  in profile

once we get the first 10

we can make the alt list of 10  and figure whom is passing  their turn from the first 10.

My hopes would be to start collecting from the  round 4 with  10   players on Tues.

We will use a new collection address for the new round.

about 0.515 btc from 10 people =  5 btc after nicehash fees   that will buy one 100th at westhash  and four 100th at nicehash.

total 500th for about 23 to 26 hours  with floating price.  of 0.0095 a th  to max of 0.0103 a th  not set in stone  a little lower or higher is possible

due to pricing including  a fixed 100th if  price is decent. (rare but it can happen)

Rough odds of your 0.515 btc share winning  odds vary a bit if price is lower or higher.

 1 block  =     5  to 1
 2 blocks =   25  to 1
 3 blocks =  125 to 1
 4 blocks =  625 to 1

ck will provide the address we mine to.

I would mange :

A) the hash rental
B) if a round hits  a block ck  will hold funds and I would setup funds payout with him.
C) this is why the list has your forum name and your profile btc addy for payout.

Lastly this is a lot more work then I thought it would be  so  1 round per  diff adjustment  with a max of 2 rounds will be most likely.

I hope to do  maybe 10 to 15 runs over the summer.

I would like to alternative my address. As a result i will prefer not to include a Bitcoin address in my profile. I will simply post it publicly when one is requested. For now you can use the one that payment was sent to.
282  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: spec thread on how to do the ckpool-solo club on: May 19, 2015, 06:29:11 PM
so every is paid but me.

here is what is left

https://blockchain.info/address/1CqbvmuJcLFDFzFewKmBVAaghXEtByzY9Y

and ezeminer is bouncing back 0.067   so 3.05387 + 0.067 =

3.12087 - 2.467 = 0.65387 in tips.

please  remember that I fronted load the original contracts  about .2 and I tossed in 2 or 3 fixed orders for .15

which would be about .35  so actual tip is .30  which is pretty nice.

if you only did this group about 1.001 btc became 4.8 or 4.9 btc  pretty good.

we still have more then  8 hours and 100th at westhash

and more then 10 hours and 400th at nicehash.

Please don't send coins

wait until I figure if I can make sure   I can do this again.

Nice. Thanks for organizing  and making the process very smooth.  We should hit another block within that time Shocked

286  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining! 49 blocks solved! on: May 18, 2015, 11:17:58 PM
We are missing out on some lucky streak . Hopefully the prices drop on nice hash soon. Would we increase our chances of hitting a block possibly by having 5 different works at 100 TH each ?
Theoretically it shouldn't make any difference at all. However I cannot vouch for potential losses in a massive mining farm setup designed to channel PH hashrates through only a few workers. While I've personally written a proxy (and am still actively developing it to be something much bigger) I can't vouch for the proxies anyone else uses. This is nothing to do with whether it's rental or otherwise. My gut feeling is a massive farm (>1PH) is less likely to be as efficient and have the same amount of potential hash loss as a medium sized farm. It's hard to set up a good farm and the larger the farm, the harder it is - but it's not a given that whoever set it up won't have made it as efficient, it's only generic advice. As I've already said, no one with >1PH has ever found a block on this pool (except for the private Avalon farm that was mining here when I first opened the pool) whereas there have been heaps of blocks solved from 1->600TH miners.

Thanks for the explanation. I was thinking along the same lines.

And we have about 5.5 btc left sitting idle.

I am also thinking to restructure  from the 200th west   800th nice spilt   .

to 1x 100 west  and 4x 100 nice.  I will pm all members.

well kano mentioned he had never seen a 1ph rental work .

 So 5x 100th 's worked

I have no idea if there is an accidental conflict of coding at the  1ph level.

but 2 blocks in the bank We are renting in groups of 100th from now on.
Actually that was me that said no 1PH miner solved a block on solo, but Kano has had concerns about rented hash for a while.

Congrats guys, updating to 53 Cheesy

So no credit to BitcoinPappi for making the suggestion that sparked the conversation ??  In either case the coins are good enough  Grin

Woohoo!  Well, how about that Smiley

And confirmed, thanks to p2pool finding the next block.

Very nice my intuition on the previous post was spot on.

...

Another effect is also blatantly obvious and that is the effect on the pool's luck.
If a smaller pool has regular bad luck, guess what (yeah I'm sure this level of thinking is beyond your pay grade) that will turn miners away from the pool.

...

I am convinced this also happen to bitminter more then once.  back to back 99.5% blocks a 70% block then  a 97% block

this is when I started asking someone to run a solo pool.  less then a year ago but with my 58 year old memory maybe 13 months ago..

I don't worry about renting pools like nicehash or westhash being used as a middle man as much as I do stealth miners with a proxy attacking pps pools.

Scatter the orders a bit on nice-west hash and odds are you are fine as the risk of renting all from one evil dude lesson quite a bit.

But Ban and f2pool as pps run risks.

At  ckpool solo club members  we have  more then 5.5btc left  but price is high so we are frozen.

order #393756  at westhash 0.89993128 btc left

order #393760 at nicehash  4.62483203 btc left

fixed 5th at least we have action order  #394839  at westhash has  4 hours left (my gift to the club)

high is still 9,717,111,133.176263

17UhZWXLyiHmPmAb4VdFweGWRYY52qjxwp with ~20-50THs

It is really the luck of the draw. The group had over 500 THs and did not hit a block.
Yes but this miner has maintained 25TH for over a week (not sure how long).
Got home from work last night and saw I had a 33G bestshare. Got home and saw it reset, so what the hell normally I'd check the the thread. But for shits and giggles I ran my client and low and  behold 25 immature coins! Thanks CK for everything over the years, answering my early questions and all the work you and Kano do. Tips inbound as soon as it matures and for the curious it was my equipment no rentals. Good luck to all!

Congrats!! What type of miner was the lucky solver?
One of my rigs you've been renting a lot Wink

Congratulations Cool. If you share a link I think you will get some more rentals. People love renting machines that have already solved a block Cheesy.
https://www.miningrigrentals.com/rigs/19055
I took it offline for 5 days to try my luck. Will put it back online now Grin

Wow, that was one of my favorites to rent, always very reliable  Cheesy You should keep going with it and see if you can get some more blocks. Congrats!

Edit: Rented it for 24 hours to see if it has good juju. Bonus for you if it finds another block  Wink

LOL! @good juju

Interested in joining the group if you set-up another round, let me know Smiley

well I for one am pretty crushed doing this.

3 team shots

7.0 btc spilt 2 ways I lost 3.5 btc
6.0 btc spilt 6 ways I lost 1.0 btc
4.5 btc split 9 ways I may lose 0.5 BTC

And at least 2btc in other rentals all in the last 2 weeks

Interested in the group as well when it starts back up. Lets aim for 1 PH. PM me when you guys start again!
Selling soul for PH power....
Haha. Doing it only to make you and philipma1957 happy by increasing the chances to find a block; so that you may no longer sell your soul with no gain Wink

What kind of card is this? Why does it cost $800 on Amazon?

Is it better than the GTX 970?

Used mostly for machine learning tasks  such as deep learning or workload that can benefit from the parallelization that the many GPU cores offer. Anyways the seller has trust issues so use escrow if interested

Spoiler alert: you lose, and worse: you realize too late that your cross-dressing eroge games won't hold you at night in your single bedroom hovel.  Meanwhile the rest of us are partying on the surface of the fucking sun.

LOL. What ?

The things bitcoiners say oh man, always a good laugh reading these posts.   Love the enthusiasm

.....
Really neat, but we still don't know if this is at the wall yet?
It's a chip datasheet. "At wall" depends on many factors. DC/DC converter and PSU efficiency. So, if thats not specified all data covers only chip.

up to 25% extra power draw is to be expected at the wall with a gold rated PSU, depending on the design:
10-12% for the PSU, and 10-15% for the power converter that will drop your +12v to 0.6-0.9v

When using string design, you'll save almost all the loss from the power converter.
That's what you can expect from the "24 chips design" they announced at the same time as the 1 chip design.
I still believe that 18-20 chips would be a better choice if they go the string design route.

If some of you are interested in kicad footprint and library for the SF3301/GC3328 chip, I finished mine a few minutes ago.
I'll double check everything tomorrow and share with those interested.

Could you create a  Github repo or DropBox folder to share your work ? Do you plan on making your designs available  to the community ?
