281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Markets stabilizing or G20 bullish news? on: March 19, 2018, 10:32:05 PM
I don't really think the market is stabilizing or we're entering into a bull season, I mean literally 2-3 weeks ago cryptocurrencies were worth up to 50% more. We might be re-correcting, but I certainly can't consider this a bull season until we see a strong rally, at least past $9000. Still, I do believe now is a good time to get in, as prices are looking on the uptrend, at least for the short term.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine to Legalize Crypto Mining as Economic Activity on: March 19, 2018, 10:29:57 PM
If it was never illegal, how can it now be legalized? Are they just acknowledging it as a viable method to generate income?

Right now, mining is still profitable if you can get your hands on cards for market price, and pay low rates for electricity. Of course, mining the most profitable coin at the time makes it a lot easier to return your investment, but most people just stick to one currency and leave their machine running, generating a suboptimal ROI.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH vs NEO vs EOS on: March 19, 2018, 10:27:23 PM
Ethereum has been taking quite the hammering lately, when it was first announced it really did look like Bitcoin 2.0. However, the reality is the smart contracts are too resource intensive, and the solidity programming language is clunky at best. I would stick with NEO, being open to many other programming language gives is a massive advantage over NEO. As for EOS, I cannot comment as I haven't researched into it.
284  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long term vs. short term investing on: March 19, 2018, 10:25:05 PM
I'll try to summarize based on my personal experience, and how I would personally handle these different investments;

Long term
Look for stability, long-term potential and growth prospects. Look for cryptocurrencies that have the potential to develop a large userbase, particularly those that have great smart contract capability. Avoid ones that had a recent explosion in growth for no real reason, these are likely pumps

Short term
Look for coins with novelty value, but not necessarily long term potential, for example those associated with smart contract based games, or a catchy idea. Or, if they have a great marketing team behind them they might experience a price explosion.
285  Economy / Lending / Re: 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨ zazarb's Quick-Loans & Escrow 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨ on: March 19, 2018, 06:00:45 PM
Hello Zazarb,

Please provide me a repayment address. I am signing up to a new signature campaign and will be having the payment sent directly to your wallet for 4 weeks (0.0125 per week for 4 weeks). I will also send 0.003 now directly to that wallet to complete repayment of the loan. That is a total of 0.05 from the signature campaign, plus 0.003 directly to total 0.053

I am sorry it has taken this long, I did not intend for this to happen, but certain life events got in the way. But as promised, you will receive your repayment.

- Onnz

You can send payments to my usual address 3EzR7Qx1FH93XUiHPSvyuuPFXjbpimhqSm

0.003 sent;

The remaining 0.05 will be paid as 4x 0.0125 payments from the VIVIDtoken signature campaign.

Kind regards,
286  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What to offer my crowdfunding investors on: March 18, 2018, 08:49:22 PM
There is absolutely zero chance that you will bring an idea to life without some strong names in your team. Nobody wants to work to make somebody else's dream come true, everybody has ideas, an idea is not the valuable part. The valuable part is having the skills, focus and coordination to bring an idea to life. I do not believe you will be successful on any crowdfunding platform if all you offer your investors is a stake in an idea, unless your idea was already proven, and mostly developed into a workable product.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find a promising ICO? on: March 18, 2018, 08:46:04 PM
Icobench is a great website to find ICOs, but they are often listed after the preliminary funding rounds have begun, meaning you miss out on the best bonus/discounts. The absolute best way is to manually keep checking the latest announcement threads, read through the whitepapers and identify whether the ICO has as much potential as they claim. Take a look at the team behind it, and examine their roadmap. If it is feasible, and the team and plan look strong, then it's likely to succeed.
288  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] Vividtoken Signature Campaign - Hero/Legendary BTC/Token Payouts! on: March 18, 2018, 12:56:00 AM

Feel free to update your avatar and signature and let's get that address from Zazarb. Welcome to the campaign and keep up the good work (It's great that you are willing to resolve the loan situation by working for it, rather than just leaving/making a new account).

Thanks for accepting me. I've dropped Zazarb a PM requesting a repayment address, and have also left the same in his lending thread.

Updating signature components now.

Edit: Zazarb has replied on his lending thread with 3EzR7Qx1FH93XUiHPSvyuuPFXjbpimhqSm

Please update my payment address to this, I'll return in 4 weeks to change this back to my own address.  Cheesy

290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question for faucets: on: March 18, 2018, 12:43:56 AM
I have some advice for you.

Stop using faucets, they are genuinely a waste of time. Unless you have a script that automatically claims faucet they are not worth the time it takes to generate a few satoshi. That being said, the highest paying and fastest paying faucets are usually associated with dice websites, where part of your referral reward is provided as an increased faucet cap.
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Is The Price Of Bitcoin So Volatile? on: March 18, 2018, 12:37:53 AM
Bitcoin value, unlike fiat currency is mainly driven by the musings of the mainstream media. The rules are simple, if media portrayal is mostly negative, then bitcoin will dip. If it is neutral bitcoin will trade sideways and slowly increase, if it is heavily positive, then bitcoin will spike. This pattern can be reflected in every peak and trough present in bitcoins chart.

Since there is no financial institution dictating the value of BTC, its value is literally determined by supply and demand. This is unlikely to change any time soon.

I trust you will my find my post quality satisfactory, and agree that the first 4 weeks of signature payments can go straight to Zazarb to repay my loan in its entirety.

Kind regards,

293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain BitCoin to someone who is not tech-savvy? on: March 17, 2018, 12:09:51 AM
Trying to explain the bible to somebody who isn't tech savvy is like trying to explain logic to a christian, it does not compute.

If I were you, I would avoid trying to explain it to them. Typically people who aren't tech savvy as those who are not open to new ideas, I mean they have missed the technological revolution because of their own ignorance, why would they have any interest in learning about Bitcoin?
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most creative solutions for 2018 on: March 17, 2018, 12:08:03 AM
I would say Zilliqa is probably one of the best ICOs I've seen recently, its smart contract technology really has the potential to change the world. I believe that it will be a big contender soon enough. Looking at Kepler, it also seems like a great idea, I'll definitely be keeping track of this for the coming months.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: alternative that rivals the ETH on: March 17, 2018, 12:02:50 AM
There are already a number of tokens that rival ETH if you're talking about its smart contract capacity, e.g. NEO and Zilliqa, however these two don't have the userbase behind them that ETH does, despite being technically superior. I don't think these will ever overtake ETH either so there really is no point having additional smart contract capable cryptos, as ETH will likely remain number one.
296  Other / Meta / Re: Yet Another Merit Thread (YAMT) But Hear Me Out on: March 15, 2018, 11:35:23 PM
I like the idea, this way people will be able to help a post gain merit, even if they don't have any sMerit themselves. Perhaps multiple people could recommend a post for meriting, and a counter would be increased on the side to represent the number of recommendations a post has. I also think that posts in the meta section should not be meritable, as probably over 75% of all merits have been given in the meta section, a section that was previously dead before the introduction of merit. I really don't think people should be merited for talking about merit.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Realization - Why All ERC-20 Tokens Are Shit on: March 15, 2018, 11:14:34 PM
With ERC-20 tokens you're not expecting to actually own part of the company, they're not stocks, so why would you treat them like shares? You can invest in organizations without buying shares, e.g. bonds, and credit. When investing in ERC-20 based ICOs, you should of course be certain that they have the potential to meet and/or exceed their offer, that way your money will be subject to little risk. Cryptocurrency is still new, it, in and of itself, has still not be properly regulated, so the regulation of ICOs is even less likely.
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Panic sellers, please head for the exit (and don't come back) on: March 15, 2018, 11:10:56 PM
Even once the panic sellers exit their positions, a new wave of nervous investors will quickly replace them. This is the cycle that has repeated over and over again. People buy in due to fear of missing out, they then catch word of some negative news, start to reconsider their investment, then exit on a loss. This situation occurs en masse leading to a snowball effect which eventually catches some of the stronger hodlers.

I don't quite meet the merit requirements, but I believe you'll find my posts of satisfactory quality.

I will change avatar/sig over once accepted.

Before going any further I'd like to know about the current situation with your negative trust rating. It has been left by a friend of mine and a great member of this community - zazarb. Care to explain what's going on?

I am in communication with Zazarb regarding repayment, I have not defaulted on the loan. The negative trust is slightly misleading as he will be paid back, just taking a lot longer than expected, he has been made aware of this.

In any case, I will not be able to join this campaign until Monday if you've still got slots left, as that is when my current signature campaign lapses.
