281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's up with Ethereum? on: October 23, 2019, 06:30:19 PM
The market is dull but most of us expected ETH to outperform like it did in first quarter of 2018 post bull run when every crypto coin were going down and even the value of bitcoin was dumped but ETH was steady for a while and not sure why ETH is under hibernation mode nowadays. What might be the reason we don't see much movement in the price of ETH? I know all the altcoins are down but ETH is not same as them but I am unable to figure out the reason why ETH is struck.

Nothing will happen in the ETH front till the side branches for scaling are fully functional (should that ever happen) because the initial hype has passed). People are starting to slowly realize that the high price of ETH is actually a bad thing when considering why the chain was developed and marketed as. Cheering for a high price is like being happy at a bank for being able to pay higher fees.

The network has been holding on surprisingly well all things considered. The price tanked and getting a new exchange might be difficult to say the least but it seems the network is still running well. Makes me wonder if it is being planned for a pump should alts turn bull again. It will be an old network by then and with a "fair" launch.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHEN ETHEREUM KEEPS DISAPPOINTING on: October 23, 2019, 01:36:39 PM
There is a chance that ETH will develop into something that could become usable large scale in the future. I think the main issue it had so far was the over-hyped product combined with a cult like following. Theres also quite a few flaws in the tech itself that simply does not allow it to scale so all eyes are on the sidechains to try make ETH work.
The idea of using the main chain for all the dapps just doesnt work (at least with the tech ETH is using). The backlog it currently has (with almost minimal use of the chain) is plenty of proof.

I have been away from gambling for a while and now coming back its really nice to see that BitKong is still going strong. Are the different language speakers just for the languages that are listed or are you planing on adding some more ?

289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XEL - The Codable Decentralized Supercomputer - XEL.ORG on: June 02, 2019, 02:02:07 PM
What's the reason for the re-ANN? Just a renewed bitcointalk presence?

We want a thread that team has access so we can maintain it proplerly. This account (XEL-project) will always belong to the development team even if current team dissapear. First ANN thread belong to Lanister and second thread to ImI. As a result of this, we were never able to make any changes by ourselves. I hope this makes sense.

Yeah it does make sense. Hope you guys manage to keep going and get the project working as intended

I mean, pretty obvious from teh start tbh. Besides this is a really bad time to launch a charity coin. Theres so many out there already and many charities already accept crypto so most people will go with the reputable ones anyway.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is It Possible To Mine Without Downloading The Whole Blockchain? on: April 22, 2019, 04:04:03 PM
I'm interested in setting up a mining node but having to download the entire blockchain makes it daunting in terms of the storage required.

In particular I'd like to use XMR-Stak miner and use it maybe to mine Monero.

Is it possible to do this? I understand you can configure a wallet to connect to a remote node. I wonder if its possible to do a similar thing with a mining node.

The only real way to mine without downloading the chain is to mine in a pool i guess. And unless you have a massive farm (or are a gambling man, or do spec mining for specific projects) that is what you should most likely be doing anyway.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best 5 Unpopular Altcoins to invest in 2019 on: April 22, 2019, 03:58:40 PM
Vet and waves are popular not unpopular because a lot of crypto believer already know about both altcoins
And i agree if the prica of waves and vet for now is undervalued,,
Maybe now is the right time to buy both alts mate

For waves, the hype is pretty low aswell. It is not a unknown currency thats true but it really doesnt have the same type of hype behind it like many other (even smaller coins)do. I think it will pick up for waves in 2019 and i expect a run to at least 0.01 to happen.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best 5 Unpopular Altcoins to invest in 2019 on: April 22, 2019, 03:06:21 PM
Theres a few out there that seem to be undervalued at the moment. WAVES as you pointed out is one of them for sure. This bear market has been really good for weeding out the bad coins from the market. SO many have been destroyed under the pressure, most of them deserving to be rekt.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which one is the best stable coin? on: April 22, 2019, 03:04:07 PM
I would have to go with the tried and trusted USDT. While they all look scammy they provide a real way of moving capital for trading. These pegged tokens have provided a lot of volume and have been quite popular for securing fiat for shorter periods of time. They can also be used to make money at times of huge pumps as they tend to fluctuate aswell.
295  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to minimise the trading fee? on: April 22, 2019, 02:56:11 PM
Any recommendations?
Currently in Australia, I would like to seek for an exchange platform with lowest trading fee but also with regulation.
Don't shoot the unregulated exchange to me, I hope my currency to be safe.

I dont think the fees are high enough in most exchanges to have a real impact unless you trade very large amounts. As for an exchange, https://dassetx.com/#about should be pretty good. It is located in NZ and should be open to Australians aswell
296  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Check Out my Bitcoin Hugging Strategy!!! on: April 22, 2019, 02:49:14 PM
Hi Friends,

Open two accounts in Bitmex. One for going long and another for short. You should enter trade same time in both accounts. when the price moves in one direction you make profit either up or down. If it moved sideways re enter after doubling your initial amount. Continue this process when you are in green.

For Example:

Starting with 2 bitcoin by depositing 1 bitcoin each in two bitmex accounts.

Current Market price of Bitcoin is 5151

Long 440000 in one account with 100X leverage, Liquidation @5126, Exit price @ 5211.
Short 440000 in one account with 100X leverage, Liquidation @5176, Exit price @ 5091.

Assume the price reached 5255,

Your profit in first account is 0.98 btc.
Your loss in second account is -0.41 btc.

So Net profit is 0.57btc Smiley

If you lose trade in both accounts don't be panic.
Re-enter with doubling the initial capital that is 4 btc if that fails 8 btc and so on..

So plan according to your total capital because bitcoin may move sideways for long time. You can change the above Leverage, Liquidation and Exit price to your preference and stick to it up to green. You can use this strategy anywhere you want for trading.

If you like my strategy, kindly donate me to the following btc address:
1C4xfQt3thrHohaBUySNYKHbw2dz83SUJp

Thanks.

I mean, this is one of the worst ideas you can give out, especially to newer traders. First of all, new traders (well actually most traders) should stay away from margin all together. If you feel you need to use it, use low leverages. And opening counter trades is nothing new, pretty common tbh
297  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to keep your funds secured? on: April 22, 2019, 02:46:17 PM
Keeping funds secure really depends on what you are planing on doing with them. If you plan on keeping funds for a longer hold then you need to get them into a wallet you control. Best would be to a hardware wallet.
If you are actively trading tho, then sometimes it is better to leave the coins in open orders (i know it is risky, but by the time you send them to the exchange the pump might already be gone).
298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why we shouldnt panic sell on: April 22, 2019, 02:30:03 PM
Sometimes it is a good idea to panic sell, it really depends on the situation. If the "Panic" just kicks in then sometimes it is a good idea to just drop your bag immediately and chances are you will be able to buy back your original bag at a way lower price. Meaning you will have more coins + profit.
It is usually a bad idea to panic sell if its late panic, aka the huge drop already happened.
299  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trader for Hire on: April 22, 2019, 02:26:39 PM
As a word of warning to anyone whos looking to let someone else trade for them. Why does a trader need investments if he is so good at what he does? If he cant accumulate his own capital for trading then theres something obviously wrong here.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Binance Is Becoming Too Powerful (and really scary). on: April 22, 2019, 12:30:07 PM
It is far from too powerful, sure it is doing really well but its by no means becoming too powerful. Some of the changes (like trying to move towards decentralization of sorts and a few more things) are the things that the community has been hoping for ages. Binance is just the first big player to really do them, thats also why they are getting this much traction
