281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: May 18, 2016, 10:32:15 AM
I don't like to keep a lot of money on my PayPal account because they tend to lock accounts for suspicious activity even though there is nothing illegal going on with the transactions so I only resort to using PayPal when Bitcoin is not accepted by merchants I want to buy stuff from. Also PayPal is easily reversible and I would not use it to sell things out of fear for bogus chargebacks.
282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: May 18, 2016, 10:19:31 AM
Banks will be replaced with crowfunding and peer-to-peer lending platforms.

This is the future of finance.

Those platforms have some flaws ,but they will be removed soon.

The financial industry will become more transparent...

I don't think these platforms will be very popular. Peer-to-peer lending would only work if both the borrowers and the lenders trust each other and nowadays there are so many scammers defaulting online that it would be a miracle for this to take off and replace bank loans. And who is going to get your money back if the borrower runs away with your Bitcoins?

284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin on: May 18, 2016, 10:01:03 AM
I think the future of Bitcoin is promising. Bitcoin is like the jack of all trades of digital money. Some people would like to use it like a store of value while other are content using it like a currency of sorts to pay for goods and services. Bitcoin can facilitate both businesses and I am not saying that it's the perfect solution to everything but Bitcoin can be versatile and that's a big advantage.
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you trust stuff like Hashocean? on: May 18, 2016, 06:49:27 AM
I think holding Bitcoin is an investment in itself because there is a high chance that you could profit by an increase in the price of Bitcoin which is very likely to happen. Relying on cloud mining services to give you any profits in months is risky because their pricing and profitability estimates will not be accurate in the future.
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin halving almost there... brace yourselves :-) on: May 18, 2016, 06:41:25 AM
Guys how can we predict when will be the best moment to sell after the halving? Because people may want to hold for longer than it's actually needed and a lot of opportunities to sell for nice profit may be missed. How do we determine how much of a price increase is enough to dump our stash? Any tips are appreciated thank you.
287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to play gambling in a smart way? on: May 17, 2016, 11:40:02 AM
A smart way to gamble for me is to bet only small amounts of money for fun and enjoy the ride whether it's a loss or a win. I think there is no sure strategy for betting as you can't predict 100% what the outcome will be and all these popular betting systems have flaws so be careful if you are following one.
288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: May 17, 2016, 11:25:07 AM
I think Liverpool will win the Europa League trophy because Klopp is a very good coach and can motivate his team to play at their best but I don't think Liverpool has enough quality players to do anything remarkable in the Champions League though. They need a completely revamped squad for the next season or they will face problems in the Premier League again.

 Wink
im only panic holding btc

Yup I fully agree with you. I am panic holding as well because I am scared to sell too early and get screwed by accepting a much lower price than what the potential price may be down the road. Plus I have invested in Bitcoin what I can afford to lose so no panic selling for me and I will wait to the very end before unloading the stash  Wink
290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do to get bitcoins? on: May 17, 2016, 11:05:02 AM
If you want some quick cash and don't have any particular skills to show you can try participating in a signature campaign but you need a high rank account in order to earn any substantial amount. But if you have any skills like designing graphics or writing code or whatever else you can do, you can get paid a lot more. I would suggest checking out the Services section here on the forum or looking at Bitcoin freelancing sites.
291  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2017 Year of the Bitcoin on: May 17, 2016, 10:56:43 AM
My interpretation for 2017 being the year of Bitcoin is that Bitcoin is going to have more users, be more widespread and the price will reach a new milestone and hopefully surpass the previous record of $1200. I hope the block size debate will be solved by then.
292  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: Bitcoin Halving. Will Price go up or price go down? on: May 17, 2016, 10:48:47 AM
The price is going to shoot right into outer orbit and we will be so rich there will be no need to work any more Grin In reality I am expecting a modest increase to at least 50% and ideally doubling-up until the winter. By the way what do you mean by going sideways? Is this when the price doesn't change?
293  Economy / Speculation / Re: Since we know when Bitcoin will half, saying Bitcoin will go up is nuts! on: May 17, 2016, 10:29:22 AM
Okay if we presume the price of Bitcoin is already adjusted for the upcoming block halving and the market won't be taken by surprise because it's well-known when and what will happen to the trade volume, do you think the miners will be happy with the current price and will they be able to pull in any profit? Because after all the miners will be affected the most by this and not the speculators.
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Secret Information via Blockchain? on: May 17, 2016, 10:18:20 AM
Isn't it a little bit unsafe to send secret messages via the Blockchain as these will stay forever online and everyone will be able to see them? Wouldn't it be better to use an app that deletes every message after been delivered and read like Telegram? Surely we could encrypt and decrypt messages on the Blockchain but I think there are better methods out there for that.
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Purchased my 1st Game from Steam in the UK using Bitcoin. on: May 17, 2016, 10:07:30 AM
Oh congratulations mate on the purchase Cheesy Do you mind if I ask which game did you buy on Steam? I bought Doom with Bitcoin on Steam because I am a big fan of the series and been enjoying it a lot these past few days. Valve did a great job introducing Bitcoin on Steam and they surely have a lot of Bitcoin customers buying games.
296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin halving almost there... brace yourselves :-) on: May 17, 2016, 09:57:45 AM
I missed the 2013 $1200 price rise because I was skeptical at that time and preferred to stay aside watching the pump unfold thinking that it's risky to be involved but in the end I was the one who didn't profit anything because I was too scared to buy cheap and hold until the balloon popped. Well this time I am going to be prepared and won't sell anything until I am completely sure every last Satoshi is pumped before the big dump that will bring the price down to normal levels. Buckle up gentlemen because we are starting the rollercoaster ride soon Wink

one more here and it even is posted as an advertisement

Yep I saw that as well. I even checked out the site because I was curious to see how similar it was made to look to the official Blockchain website and it was an exact carbon copy. This scam is very dangerous because people on mobile devices can misclick on it as it's on the top above the legitimate site. God knows how many Bitcoiners have already fallen for this scam.
298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OFFICIAL EURO 2016 Information, Discussion and Tips Thread on: May 16, 2016, 11:08:04 AM
I think Belgium will be the dark horse of the tournament. They have a young but very capable squad and made a statement during the World Cup in Brazil. Everyone expects big favourites like England, Spain and Germany to be finalists but their teams are getting old and need a new generation of good players. France can do something big at home so they shouldn't be underestimated either. As for Italy maybe they will reach the quarter finals at best. Portugal have only Cristiano Ronaldo, can he haul the whole team to the final?
299  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we Manipulate Bitcoin price? on: May 16, 2016, 09:52:16 AM
Long term price/trend can not be manipulated.

But what if Satoshi Nakamoto decides to sell these 1 million Bitcoins? This can crash the market even in 2140 when every last Bitcoin has been mined and the price will be obviously more stable than today. Do you think such an event won't cause a massive disruption of the market?

Why all the Chinese hate? Someone beat you up with chopsticks when you were a little boy?

Nope but I had some Chinese-made goods go bad or not functioning right out of the box upon arrival  Grin
Jokes aside people should not hate on the Chinese because they are also human beings like us, the general concern is that they can control the Blockchain network at will and as we all know the Chinese condone unscrupulous business ethics.
