281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: November 21, 2017, 01:40:41 AM
hello everyone.
i want to know what do you think about gambling bitcoin.. Does Beneficial or more losses?
Share your story here guys!  Grin Grin Grin
I havent tried gambling with bitcoin but i do gamble. Loosing or winning, I m the type of gambler who knows how to stop and i dont push my luck to the very end.
Gambling can be beneficial if used as a recreation but becomes a problem when people start to do away with recreations and becomes an addiction instead.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did you learn from your gambling mistakes? on: November 20, 2017, 07:53:18 AM
Many gamblers know that they can't win money from gambling but they keep on gamble again and again but not with a small amount. Some people even borrow money from others to gamble. That means they never learn from their past gambling mistakes.

Are you doing this kind of gambling mistake?
In winning people tend to continue playing on hoping to gain more and more but will end up on the losing side same with losing, they tend to play on hoping to get back what they have lost but in the end will lose more. This is a common mistake for gamblers that they tend to continue repeating. One must learn how to stop whether you are on the winning side or the other.

284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why trading is better than gambling? on: November 20, 2017, 07:33:49 AM
Hey! guys i need your opinion and help because i didn't know about this trading thing i only know about how you can earn bitcoin by gambling but still my friend told me that gambling is not the way to earn bitcoin but if you try trading you will earn much profit why is that so guys? trading is better than bitcoin? how? why? where to find that trading thing?
Trading and gambling both require strategy and a ton of luck but i would say that trading is much better than gambling. In trading you have a control over your money because you have the power when to buy and sell commodities that would give you profit while on gambling you must win to gain and you have no control over it.
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should I try to win back my loss? on: November 20, 2017, 07:07:19 AM
I have around 500 000 bets placed on FJ
It was a matter of time when this would happen ( placed a lot of bets on not Martingale, so it already happened a lot of times, just not with Martingale)

I got 16 losses in a row
Starting with bet 0.000001BTC
And last bet was 0.03BTC
Counting a 0.06BTC loss total

Now, my question is, should I try to win it back?

I have a total bank of around 1.6BTC on my disposal

Odds of me losing those 16 bets in a row were 0.00179%
Somewhere around 1 to 60 000

Now, if I place a 0.06BTC there's a 50.5% chance I'll lose
If I lose, I place a 0.12BTC bet,  0.505*0.505= 25.5% chance I'll lose
If I lose, I place a 0.24BTC bet, 0,255025*0,505= 12.88% chance
If I lose, I place a 0.48BTC bet, 0,128787625*0,505= 6.5% chance I'll lose

If I lose, I have a total loss of 0.48+0.24+0.12+0.06 (+0.03) = 0.9BTC (+0.03)

Is it worth it?
Should I cut my losses o.o

Odds of me losing 20 bets in a row should be 1 : 860 000
Which, with me having 500k bets, doesn't sound very good
If i were you i would have stopped on my 7th loss. We tend to keep on betting when losing hoping to gain back what we lost but we must learn how to stop. Live today and fight another game tomorrow

288  Economy / Economics / Re: what will happen to banks? on: November 19, 2017, 05:10:26 AM
Since banks profit from fees and blockchain will kill fees, my guess is banks will be negatively impacted.
Some banks are already stepping into the blockchain world.
But blockchain will not bring back the profits as otherwise.
Any thoughts?
Apologies if this is not the right place to discuss.
Thanks in advance.
Banks generates funds through the fees they collect from services they render to their customers (loans, transfer of funds etc). Bank is as good as cash itself, as long as majority seeks the services of a bank then its non existence would be impossible.
289  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: November 19, 2017, 04:00:36 AM
For true devotees of Bitcoin, the price of the digital currency is almost irrelevant. They believe in its inherent value or, more frequently, cannot see any value at all in the alternative of government issued fiat currency. Price is therefore not a concern. At the other end of the spectrum, for those that harbor what appears to be an irrational hatred of Bitcoin and anything to do with it, the exchange rate also matters little. They were screaming that it was all worthless when the price was at over $1000, and somehow convince themselves that an exchange rate of over 200 times what it was before that bubble proves their point. For the vast majority of people somewhere in the middle, however, the price of the currency in Dollar, Euro, Yuan or whatever terms is important.

A lot of bitcoin investors put their money on bitcoin with the hopes of profiting from it thus the price of bitcoin is what really matters to them.
290  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if the government know bitcoin in your country? on: November 19, 2017, 03:51:34 AM
I think they will ban bitcoin because of the fearful that may affect of the economics of my country but i disagree there opinion because working bitcoin is very helpful for me especially the support financial.
I dont see our government banning bitcoin at the moment because they are focussed in their war on drugs but i do know that they are aware of its existence. If one day they will devide to intervene with bitcoin then expect to pay large taxes knowing how taxation runs in our country.
291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can gambling help you with your life? on: November 18, 2017, 04:56:42 AM
Hey! Good day i really need some answers because its about gambling in your life and other people are playing for it with heart and i just thought that how can gambling help you with your life? and do you gain something from it? does it help you to be wise or worst your attitude will change.. i need answers please!
One must learn how to control himself when in gambling. Win some or loose some, one must know when to stop or to continue playing. Gambling can be beneficial if we consider it as a recreation but becomes devastating if it turns to addiction specially in the case of loosing.
292  Other / Meta / Re: How about we start banning scammers? on: November 17, 2017, 06:19:08 AM
Hello,

I've been dealing on bitcointalk for almost a year, spent hundreds of hours here and did deals for tens of thousands USD worth of amazon balance.

I see the same things over and over - new users don't check trust scan (even if it's clearly red lol), belive in fake vouches, don't use escrow or even know what that is.

Scammers are creating multiple threads, multi accounts for fake vouches (look at this guy) or self moderating them. Hundereds or thousands of dollars are getting stolen every day from good people who just want to earn some money and do a honest business.

I think it's all about lack of internet awarness, people are vulnerable for attacks and deceptions with thieves getting more and more creative.
It's not new users fault really, they are unexperienced and expect forums to be the safe place. Getting scammed multiple times when you want to do honest business and make it grow does not really get you go back to this place for more deals.
The marketplace has over 6 million posts, really worth it to make it safer.

It's pretty hard to change human behaviour and spread the awarness with so many new users. Sticking posts like this to every sub in marketplace could help a bit, although people are too often lazy or unaware what they have in front of their eyes.

Why won't we take care of scammers for good instead? Or at least the most notorious ones? Clearing the marketplace and banning all the scammers would make it much safer for the new users.

I suggest mods getting to work and users helping them - I noticed many good people fight for the truth to protect naive members. Definietly hiring more moderators to help or giving trusted users some new permissions, at least to lock scammers PM system untill forum staff take care of him for good.

I hope you think the same, it's finally time to do some clean up. It's been the problem for too long, good people can't lose money every day because we lack action to protect them and make them want to stay for more growth.

//thanks for moving this to the right sub
Prevention is a lot way better than cure. Even if we ban scammers they will just keep on coming back. Secure your accounts and protect it. Have a fail safe passwords. Always bear in mind the presence of scammers and everyone is a target. Dont jump into transactions that are to good to be true.
293  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: November 17, 2017, 05:17:42 AM
It is said that bitcoin will destroy the fiat system but i believe that if this happens the world will change completly because banks and a lot of things will go out of market.
It is said that bitcoin will destroy the fiat system but i believe that if this happens the world will change completly because banks and a lot of things will go out of market.
With the emergence of other cryptocurrencies I really doubt if bitcoin would be used in general by 2022. Large institutions that uses fiat money will not simply allow the dominance of bitcoin or other cryptos over fiat money.
294  Economy / Economics / Re: why bitcoin is so much special than others currency ? on: November 17, 2017, 04:45:47 AM
This is so really hard to say special cause its difficult to explain specialty in short word
Some of them  are given below:

It’s a type of currency which know as peer to peer currency and this permit to send and receive money without help of broker or third party involvement
Every bitcoin holder can review their account information after sending money or receiving money from their account.
After all kind of transection bitcoin recorded sufficient proof of every client and account holder through different facilities.
Buying and selling process is so much easier than other currency
I think above mention quotation is sufficient for proving that how much special the bitcoin is.
Well one reason why it is much special is bitcoin is decentralized. Nobody controls bitcoin not unlike fiat money where an institution is controling it. Transfer of bitcoin is much easier than other currencies specially compared to that of fiat money and we do not also worry of fees in transferring them.
295  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if we use a one currency only? on: November 17, 2017, 04:35:05 AM
[Edited to make it more understandable question]
What if all nation use only a one currency or one global currency?, What will happen to our world?, What is the effect of every nation's or every country economy?, It can make people's unite each other?Any opinion. Cheesy

Having a global currency would, I think, be beneficial to some countries and at the same time would damage others. Buying powers of currencies would be eradicated because we are using only one currency and governments would have no control but a single worldwide agency would.
296  Economy / Economics / Re: What percentage of people on Earth will own Bitcoin by 2020 on: November 16, 2017, 06:41:52 AM
I've been running a poll for some time now about the value of 1 bitcoin by 2020 and it's safe to say a lot of different opinions and guesses are made.
This poll completes the other one and i'm really looking forward to everyone's input in this.

Tnx for your input  Cool

Hard to tell but i will put my peso on 10%. More and more people are becoming aware of bitcoins and are optimistic about it. Others are curious enough to even have a second thoughts of engaging themselves with bitcoins.
297  Economy / Economics / Re: how can bitcoin help the community? on: November 16, 2017, 06:12:48 AM
Bitcoin is promising currency, but somehow because of it's volatile value. How can bitcoin help the community? especially the 3rd world country.
More and more people are engaging into bitcoins because of its profitability. Profit and earnings would mean uplift on the way of life for everyone. Curiousity would hit others and will start following on what you have started.
298  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: November 16, 2017, 05:25:40 AM
Maybe not to get rich, but sure as hell to earn a decent amount of money with bitcoins.

How much money did you earn with bitcoins? Or did you lose some?

You have to have a great deal of luck and a great deal of risk to become rich with bitcoins. Risk comes when you tend to buy large amount of bitcoin with the hopes of profiting from it.
Im hearing a bunch of people getting rich by the day with bitcoins therefore yes, the dream of getting rich with bitcoin is indeed possible.

299  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: November 16, 2017, 05:01:08 AM
For the first time, when I look at the offers on LocalBitcoins.com, there are a half-dozen currencies ahead of the US dollar, offering a higher price for Bitcoin than US dollar users.

Euros, South African Rands, New Zealand Dollars, Hong Kong Dollars, Polish Zloty, Malaysian Ringgits.

It is no longer just the US, EU or even China driving adoption.  There is a market for Bitcoins in major countries all over the world.
Well at the moment we bitcoins are being used and accepted to buy commodities, being used as payments and are being accepted in on line games. If bitcoin would penetrate and be accepted by large institutions then there is a possibility that it would become a global currency.
300  Economy / Economics / Re: Being a Smart Person or Strategic on: November 16, 2017, 04:47:15 AM
Is it enough to be smart with just nothing to lean on and go on with your life? Because i feel that there are a lot of people who doesn't know how to handle their money with regards to see in the future. Is it enough to be smart and not be strategical or somewhat a person who has a lot of experience. Who would you choose?

For me it is required to be a master of both things like of course you can not have experience if you are not going to try and some people would think it's a waste of their time if they are doing what they know already like repeating their work over and over again. So it should be in a balance.
I think that you must possess both if you want to survive and succeed. An in depth knowledge of the things would make an individual smart and that would later on can be used to lay strategies for him to succeed.
