Yep, 200 coin balance and a magnitude of 30 is gonna take some time! If you guys wanna see what other people are earning with their magnitudes I urge you to take a look at the statistics here: http://www.gridresearchcorp.com/gridcoin/?result&t=Whitelisted_Project_LeaderboardAlso please read this on how to pick the right boinc project for your hardware: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/38205-newbie-must-read-how-to-pick-the-right-boinc-project-for-your-hardware/Hey traderman I just found out that payout timeframe limit got changed from 14 days to 6 months so that means I'm going to have to wait months to get paid? my POS says interest won't be paid until 130 days and DPOR says 23 hours so is there any way to calculate how long it will take to receive payout? Just so you know Cyberspacemonkey, I'm seeing exactly what you're seeing too. So I've also been benefiting from the answers to your questions. I started on Oct 25 My balance is under 200 coins (only what I've been able to get from faucets, I have not been paid for work yet) My Total Credit is currently at: 279,565 My Recent Average Credit is currently at: 20,467.39 My Magnitude is now showing: 30.00 Estimated time to earn next reward: 288 days Estimated time to earn POR reward: 23 hours (has said that for about a week now too) So you're not alone. Seems like this is just how it works.

Cyberspacemonkey, The 6 month period means that you will get paid for all boinc works done, before the period was only 14 days, so if you didn't stake a block within 14 days you would loose out. With the 6 month period you get paid for all boinc work!!! The estimate for staking on the wallet is a very very rough figure, which is very wrong most of the time. If you want regular payments, you will have to either increase your balance to get more interest blocks, or increase your magnitude by doing more Boinc work. Join the IRC chat. There are a lot of people on there that can answer just about any question you have. Hey traderman I just found out that payout timeframe limit got changed from 14 days to 6 months so that means I'm going to have to wait months to get paid? my POS says interest won't be paid until 130 days and DPOR says 23 hours so is there any way to calculate how long it will take to receive payout?

The cryptocointalk one! Holytransaction has added Gridcoin already and I would imagine that other merchants are probably going to add GRC in the future. Most of the discussion takes place here: https://cryptocointalk.com/forum/464-gridcoin-grc/ also check out the IRC chat: https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net:6667/#gridcoinThat will take quite a bit of time, but the major updated was Research Age. And Gridcoin is no longer a Scrypt coin. I was dabbling with this coin in the past, due to its concept. Can you guys sum up the huge spike in market cap? Did I miss something? Thanx I have been doing some research the past hour about the updates taking place and have also backed the project on Kickstarter . This has to be one of a few crypto's that has a long term future & noble cause. What about on the financial side of the coin, what are the plans regarding merchants and everyday banking etc? Thank you will visit links. Which forum is the most active regarding news and discussion?

I wonder how long it will take them before the first shipments of the PiGrid start going out? Good campaign. I bought my share. :-)

It is impossible to give any estimate on when!! It could be tomorrow or in a week. But when you get your next block, everything that you earned will be in it! That is how the RA system works. You will get everything earned since your last block. This system makes sure that the small guys get paid, the downside of course is that the small balance holders/magnitudes have to be patient. If you want to speed up the frequency of payments, you have to either get a bigger balance or increase your magnitude by doing more Boinc work. Last time I got paid was October 22nd, how long until I get paid again with a POR weight of 2445 and a Magnitude of 125? I keep using "List RSA" but it doesn't say when next payout will be.

Ye, we should prob mention that to Rob at some point. There were so many big things happening in the past few weeks that even if it was brought up, I doubt it would have been on the priority list. LOL, This is nothing compared to what we had before. This was the smoothest upgrade we ever had. Version 3.5.1.9 already. wow many upgrades going on I have to admit the Dev team behind this coin is superb. But something so simple as to correct that picture of the new logo being on top of the old logo when opening the wallet cannot be changed? I mean it's just a minor cosmetic thing, but c'mon lol

Gridcoin Research 3.5.1.8/MSI=36.0 Mandatory Upgrade (before block 364500) - Fixed getinfo/explainmagnitude/Literal error - Added witnesses field to Neural Network (When a supermajority of the NN participants agree on one CPIDs individual project RAC on a given day, the nodes will share the information during the quorum for the duration of the day) resulting in higher efficiency and less re-querying project sites for that distinct entry. Grid is no longer locked during syncing. Note that the sync should speed up after our next superblock. https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1331-new-coin-launch-announcement-grc-gridcoin/page-986#entry197918

Hey Amazing, what is the GRC balance in your wallet? If it is zero then you won't receive any reward. You need a positive balance. Can you come to the IRC chat on freenode and we can sort this out: https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net:6667/#gridcoinHi, I've been setting up BOINC and Gridcoin for the last week, trying to work out all the troubleshooting. I had trouble getting my CPID associated with the wallet because (1) didn't have any GRC balance, and then realized the coins I bought on Poloniex I couldn't withdraw. (2) Then it took me a while to get my RAC up high enough, but up to this point I believe I've gotten my cpid associated with my wallet and with the 3 CPUs I have BOINCing. I'm a little confused about why the wallet keeps sending out Beacons? The wallet has sent out 6 Beacons, yet during this time I still haven't received any incoming transactions in terms of reward for the computing work I'm doing. When I 'list cpids' I get the 3 projects I'm working on, and they all have true, and the same CPID listed. When When I 'beacon report' I can find my CPID, but there is a curious informality with the rest of the other CPIDs. It seems like they list the CPID left-hand column and the GRC address in the right hand column... "CPID" : "GRCAddress" But when I find my CPID in the list the right hand column has no GRC Address, but instead a "", mark ? Does anyone else know if this is normal? Am I going to start receiving POR or Staking rewards? I thought there were 2 super-blocks a day and I would be receiving daily payments (they way I do in pools for mining other cryptocurrencies) And when will I stop sending out beacons? Please, any clarification will be reassuring. I've been searching different forums for the answer but haven't found any resources yet.

I would use Bittrex, GRC has been disabled on Poloniex for the past week. My guess would be that they are taking precautions due to the upcoming upgrade on the 20th. anyone knows why on Poloniex Gridcoin deposits/withdrawals are temporarily disabled ?
thanks!
Same problem for me, I would like deposit on Polo some GRC but deposits/withdrawals are disabled from yesterday, more than 24h. Hope deposits/withdraws will enable very soon!

Have a read over this thread regarding Research Age: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/40141-testnet-research-age/It basically allows miners to get rewarded fairly for the amount of Boinc work they do. I think Poloniex has disabled GRC due to the upcoming 'Research Age' upgrade on the 20th of October. Also, make sure to watch all the Gridcoin tutorial videos on YouTube and please read this: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/38205-newbie-must-read-how-to-pick-the-right-boinc-project-for-your-hardware/anyone knows why on Poloniex Gridcoin deposits/withdrawals are temporarily disabled ?

blockchain troubles possibly ? hopefully not, mined intensively on SETI and no credits to my wallet (for like 2 days with a decent setup)
love the concept though... of this coin , makes sense, hence an entry on poloniex but coins stuck.. I dont like to keep cions on exchanges and withdraw them to cold storage as soon as I can
So Gridcoin will be getting upgraded again? wow, what's going to be different now?

Price of GRC has increased quite a bit over the past month, so I would say that it is, at least for me. Of course it depends on what kind of hardware you are running and the cost of electricity in your area. I hope this kicks off. Is it profitable to mine GRC at the moment (via BOINC projects not PoS)?

I did have a crash a few days ago running v3.5.1.2, but have not had any issues for the past 2 days. Gridcoin is one of the few coins in crypto with a real purpose. I remember some people having problems running wallet with Windows 10, has that been fixed yet?
Personally speaking the problem is Windoof 10 A lot of wallet have problems running on windows 10 if i remember correctly. News to me. I have seen no Windows 10 Gridcoin issues. Presently running v3.5.1.3-g-research. Edit: Update. I spoke too soon - this may be what people are talking about: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1331-new-coin-launch-announcement-grc-gridcoin/page-971#entry197079If so, it is apparently (maybe?) fixed now in v3.5.1.4.
