At one point I felt they will be able to match the score but they could not yet, they were able to reach 338. Not bad by the Indian batsmen they did fight till the end. Very disappointed by the performance of the Indian bowlers if they had balled well then Australia would have not been able to score such a huge target. Still enjoyed the game as both sides batsmen performed really well.

Australian bowlers were wayward and they knew that India was never going to get there. There was a lot of complacency from the part of Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins. Starc has failed for the second consecutive match. He is a pace-bowling legend, but his recent performances are appalling. Series is decided now, with Australia leading 2-0. At least for the final match, Kohli can do some experimentation, resting players such as Saini and Chahal.
2842  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Election Is Over What Next? on: November 29, 2020, 12:41:07 PM
Elections are over, and most of the Republicans are debating about their chances in the 2024 presidential elections. They narrowly missed getting a majority in the House (despite gaining more than a dozen seats) and maintained their majority in the senate. The next target for the GOP is to gain at least 5 House seats in 2022, in order to get a majority there (as well as to maintain their majority in senate). It is going to be a repeat of Obama' second term, where GOP held majorities in House/Senate. I don't think that Biden is a powerful president who can navigate through the Republican majority in senate. Also, bad news for him is that apart from Murkowski, the Senate RINOs have almost become extinct.

But they should always prepare for a Kamala Harris presidency. I don't think that Biden will complete his term. His health is not that good, and there's a real chance that after some time he may retire as the president and will be replaced by Kamala.
2843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AIRDROPS ARE NO LONGER VIABLE on: November 29, 2020, 12:31:09 PM
It is actually very simple. Back in 2017, we had relatively few users vying for a large number of airdrops (many of which were successful upon their listing). There were some really good airdrops, such as eBTC. The number of users have grown manifold since then, but the number of successful projects have witnessed a sharp drop. So it is only natural for airdrop participants to contend with little or no rewards.
2844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be considered the “gold” of crypto investment? on: November 29, 2020, 12:21:12 PM
Rather than considering as the "gold" of crypto investment, Bitcoin should be considered as the original cryptocurrency. It was the original asset invented by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008. All the other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Litecoin have plagiarized at least a part of the idea from Bitcoin. Some of them may be more technologically advanced, but the basic idea came from Bitcoin.
2845  Economy / Speculation / Re: ATH will be in 2021! on: November 29, 2020, 12:11:15 PM
Right now it's hard to answer that question because the market is moving up and down, just when we think that we are heading to $20k suddenly the market make a big turn and drop to 11% I have a hard time to analyze if we are going to reach another all time this year, because of the volatility of the market.

That 11% drop occurred after a 90% spike. The problem in cryptocurrency market is that everyone want to talk about the 11% drop, but very few would acknowledge the fact that Bitcoin had almost doubled during the last 3-4 weeks. With any asset, we can expect a major correction after such a sharp rally. You can take the example of stocks, bullion or even real estate. What happened with Bitcoin during the last few days was very much expected.
2846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Police Seize 1% of Bitcoin’s Total Supply on: November 29, 2020, 12:01:16 PM
There was another news like that with 200 000 BTC confiscated from the police a few years ago, but nothing came out of it. We never heard anything anymore about those coins, and that was a massive one too. I guess this is what is going to happen again, and speaking of China, we wont hear about those coins at all.
It won't change the market as they won't sell the coins on the public exchanges. Someone with a lot of money will get himself some a cheap coins and the Communist's Party will be happy.

I guess that news was from 2017. Some of the countries don't want to reveal details about the seized assets and this is not just applicable to cryptocurrency. There is another chance that the information is being withheld, as the investigation is ongoing. Anyway, I would assume that the Bulgarian authorities are still holding most of these coins. Things move very slowly in these ex-Communist nations. It may take another decade for them to decide what to do with these seized assets.
2847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Tron Fees Going UP 4X on: November 28, 2020, 04:23:33 AM
I am surprised that there are people who still use TRX. I have always considered it as a failed innovation. Originally it was founded to assist with file-sharing of copyrighted content. But more than three years have passed and I have seen no evidence to claim that it is being used in that way. In short, TRX was another overhyped shitcoin, which failed to meet expectations from the cryptocurrency users.
2848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH high gas fee on: November 28, 2020, 04:04:47 AM
When I wrote this comment, the Ehtereum gas fee only 25gwei, and this is so cheap if compare to your statement in the thread, so I think you just need to wait until the gas fee becomes normal.

We all hope that Ethereum 2.0 will bring us a solution for this because maybe we need to make an important transaction and we want not to wait, and when the gas fee is high no one we can do

A lot of people have posted here that ETH 2.0 is likely to result in a lower transaction fee. That may be true. But we don't have any idea about how much reduction will happen once it is implemented. There is a very good chance that by then the number of transactions would increase and that would undo any fee reduction that will be resulted as a result of ETH 2.0.
2849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Police Seize 1% of Bitcoin’s Total Supply on: November 28, 2020, 03:53:46 AM
This is really great news!!!

PlusToken scam was one of the largest such acts we ever had in the recorded history of cryptocurrency. There are estimates that close to 3 million people were scammed by the PlusToken promoters, with up to $10 billion stolen. I have to appreciate the Chinese officials in arresting the suspects and seizing the stolen money. I hope this would discourage similar scams in the future.

From the article, it seems to me that the seized funds will be attached to the state treasury. So is there a chance of the victims getting any reimbursement for their losses?

And also, will the Europol ever manage to do what the Chinese did regarding PlusToken? Onecoin scam also resulted in huge losses for many users. And the last time I heard, the mastermind (Ruja Ignatova) is still roaming around freely in Germany.
2850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rumours that Bitcoin was created in Russia on: November 28, 2020, 03:43:12 AM
The more we dig deeper it's more confusing and it doesn't matter whoever is behind the creation of Bitcoin as that person choose to be anonymous and what matters the most is the change Bitcoin has brought to our life and I am sure whoever creates Bitcoin did it with good intentions and we might come across so many such rumour and we shouldn't be paying heeds to those rumours.

Digging up IPs from 2008 and 2009 won't help us in reaching any conclusions. Unless the individual who created Bitcoins come forward and reveal his identity, I don't think that we will ever find out who he is. But until then, we need to ignore imposters such as Craig Wright, who is using this opportunity to scam inexperienced users with his BSV shitcoin.
2851  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase the most anti-Bitcoin organisation. Make #DeleteCoinbase great again on: November 28, 2020, 03:33:57 AM
If Coinbase refuses to help them, then they will get the necessary help from somewhere else.
I don't buy that logic at all. What about the Electrum scammers? "Well, if we hadn't scammed these users and stolen their bitcoin, someone else would have, therefore it absolves us of all responsibility." I don't think so. Maybe the IRS would have looked elsewhere to find blockchain analysis technology, and maybe it would have been as good as Coinbase's, but that doesn't mean Coinbase can do what they like without any repercussions. And it certainly doesn't mean Coinbase can act all high and mighty about it like they are doing the community a favor by selling them out to the IRS.

Not only can we blame Coinbase here, but we should blame Coinbase. They went out of their way to acquire the necessary companies and individuals to develop this technology for their own profit. They are selling out their customers and the entire bitcoin world to line their own pockets.

Delete Coinbase.

Here you are assuming that the conversation between the IRS and Coinbase was civil and voluntary. I am not sure about that. Given the reputation of the IRS, I wouldn't be surprised if they have used unfair tactics in their dealings with Coinbase. If you ask me whether Coinbase had the option to refuse the request from the IRS, then yes. They had that option. But if they do that, they can expect some retaliatory action from the other side. And in this case Coinbase probably gave in to the pressure, instead of creating a fight.

These are just my assumptions. Can be wrong.
2852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 27, 2020, 11:13:01 AM
If Dhawan or Pandya gets out now, the target will be unachievable. Virat got out too early and even Iyer proved disappointing. If Virat was on crease, the target could be achieved still as the RRR is not that high but 8 but without him, it doesn't look they will win this match.

Why so much dependency on Virat? India can't depend on him to win everytime. Other players also need to perform, during crucial matches. Shikhar Dhawan got out just now and India are struggling at 229/5. For me, there is zero percent chance for India to win this match. Still, I would like them to bat for the remaining overs, and get used to the ground conditions. It would help them for the next match.
2853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH high gas fee on: November 27, 2020, 06:02:44 AM
I have paid a transaction fee of more than $ 5 but I think it's still worth it when claiming an airdrop from Uniswap. It is common for transaction fees on ethereum to change depending on whether the ethereum network is busy or not. Hopefully the launch of ETH 2.0 will reduce transaction costs

I am hearing about this for the last two years. Ethereum 2.0 is a scam. IMO, Ethereum has run out of steam and the developers are desperately trying to keep the hype alive by bragging about ETH 2.0. They are implementing it even before the testing phase is over. There is a very good chances that vulnerabilities will be found and wallets will get attacked. Anyway, a fee of $5 per transaction is not at all viable.
2854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 27, 2020, 05:52:38 AM
Australia is scoring at a brisk rate now. They should, as the opening pair is at the crease. The Indian bowlers are really struggling (apart from Mohammad Shami). The pacers are struggling with their line and length, especially Navdeep Saini. On top of that Yuzvendra Chahal is unable to get much turn from the pitch. Indian captain looks frustrated and he has now brought in Shami.

Thanks to all. @pakhitheboss ,@Vishnu.Reang and @onecall123 thanks mate.I watched the game on Sony LIV. And it's free. I just logged in with my Gmail and can enjoy the match for free.
Here is the link - https://www.sonyliv.com/sports/india-tour-of-australia-2020-21-1700000286/cricket-1st-odi-27-nov-2020-1000096958?watch=true

Confused about this. SONY LIV is not free. You need a subscription to watch full matches. May be for the first 10 or 15 minutes they may allow you to watch the stream for free.

2855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs more women. on: November 27, 2020, 05:42:27 AM
For a decentralized asset such as Bitcoin, you can't make distinction based on gender, race, language or religion. The majority of Bitcoin users may be male, but we don't know that yet. No one has ever prepared a "billionaire list" for Bitcoin holders. Obviously there is the Bitcoin distribution chart prepared by rpietila, which can be accessed here:

Statutory warning: multiple users have warned me that rpietila is mentally unstable and is currently undergoing treatment at a sanatorium in Estonia. So use the tables with caution.
2856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 27, 2020, 05:27:09 AM
300+ score coming..

Is Hardik Pandaya playing as all rounder or specialist batsman? Not sure why selectors giving him chances when he's not fit to ball any single over. He's consider all rounder, right? Fair amount of good specialist batsmen are sitting out and warming the bench because of Pandaya.

At this rate, 300 should not be a problem for Australia. David Warner is not getting much of the strike as Finch is chewing up a lot of balls. For India, if they can tempt Warner to play a rash shot, then it may give them an opening. But for now, both the batsmen seems to be at ease and the spinners are not troubling them much (Ravindra Jadeja & Yuzvendra Chahal). India needs to break this partnership.
2857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: November 27, 2020, 05:13:11 AM
Australian bowlers will always have the advantage of playing in the home ground. Indians bowlers will take time to adapt to those conditions. You cannot expect them to perform from day one. Both Indian bowlers have the ability to perform exceptionally well in these conditions but you have to give them some time.

This is why I wanted a few practise matches for the Indian team ahead of these ODIs. But for the BCCI, warm up matches represent a waste of time and effort. If they can't get revenue out of something, then they'll strike it off. Personally, I feel that India could have played one or two practise matches against the Australian first class sides, such as the Queensland Bulls or the Tasmanian Tigers.
2858  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Supreme Court Cuomo Religious Decision on: November 27, 2020, 05:02:49 AM
Cuomo was unfairly targeting places of worship, especially within context of BLM rioters/protests which went on unchecked. Good on the conservatives and ACB on this decision.

If Cuomo want to apply law, then he should apply it equally everywhere. He is placing a 10 person occupancy limit for the places of worship, while his own party is encouraging rioters to march with their BLM protests where 1,000 or 2,000 people can be seen at once without any face-masks or other protective equipment. SCOTUS did the right thing by stepping in.

BTW I can understand John Roberts. He is nearing retirement and Biden is known to be very generous to those who fall in line.
2859  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-11-18]Mexico’s 2nd Richest Man Reveals 10% of His Liquid Assets Are in BTC on: November 27, 2020, 04:52:17 AM
Nope, Bitcoin isn't the most liquid asset out there and that is for all kinds of assets not labelled as fiat currencies, this includes stocks and mutual funds since they aren't in a liquid form. When we say liquid asset we are talking about assets that are acceptable for what it is as a mode of payment and as of right now fiat currencies are still the most accepted mode of payment out there. But you are right to say that they are not here in the long haul since companies like this one always likes to adop and open up their options just to maximize their profit.

I agree. Going by this definition, Bitcoin is not a completely liquid asset. Similar to bullion or stocks, we need to convert Bitcoin to fiat first, before it can be used for making payments. But then, we need to look at the ease of converting Bitcoin to fiat. Nowadays, the obstacles have been removed and it is relatively easy to do this. On the other hand, if you want to sell stocks, then you need a demat account, go through all sorts of KYC documentation and then select a particular stock exchange which will operate only for a specified period.
2860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 27, 2020, 04:42:07 AM
Seeing the revenue earned by BCCI through IPL most boards started their own leagues and to date they have not been able to equal the revenue amount of IPL.

And this is where things go wrong for the other boards. Everyone want to copy the IPL and establish their own franchise T20 leagues. They never do proper research on the viability of such leagues. Even smaller boards like the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have jumped in with their LPL. In most cases, these leagues end up as loss making ventures, because the boards overestimate the potential revenues.
