301  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 12 SC 60's BNIB Ready to Ship Now Offers on: December 10, 2013, 03:20:32 AM
I don't know why people try and sell here? Go get top dollar on eBay or Craigslist. There is a fool born every minute. People here are too smart to be taken in by over priced gear. In January you got a bunch of companies coming out with 500gh to 2 tb machines.  Take the $2000 while you can because in 30 days that SC 60 will be worth .10 BTC.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 30, 2013, 02:49:25 PM
People that say buy BTC not miners just want the difficulty to stay low so that they can mine more BTC. Holding BTC has it's own stress. Friend of mine purchased $20k of BTC when it was near its high during the summer. He then panicked when it dropped below $80 and sold. Unless you have a crystal ball that can predict the future, you are better off buying mining equipment.
303  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: November 26, 2013, 11:26:28 PM
Well BTC is near $1000. Only a matter of time.
304  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Next Generation Miners on: November 26, 2013, 11:16:01 PM
I like how everyone has a crystal ball that can predict the future. If you knew BTC was better than mining equipment then why didn't you buy BTC when it was sub .01 back in 2011? Could have gotten 10k of BTC for the price of a pizza.  Is holding BTC now really that great of an idea? For someone to make double their investment BTC would need to go to $1800.  Funny I heard the same arguments about KNC first generation machines. Never ROI. Well now people are saying I could have made more by holding BTC.  Yes you could have if you didn't get cold feet when BTC went to $60 in July and sold because you thought this was the end for BTC.
305  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS]: KnC Upgrade module on: November 25, 2013, 04:47:17 AM
Everyone is entitled to try and maximize their ROI. If I had a module, I would try to sell it for $5000 dollars. This is call free enterprise.
306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I bought a miner from a friend.. on: November 24, 2013, 09:04:39 PM
You could have probably gone higher but $500 seems fair on eBay.
307  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Does mining require a professional on: November 24, 2013, 07:57:09 AM
I say do what your gut tells you to do. I remember months ago people saying that buying asic mining equipment would never ROI. Instead buy BTC. Buying and holding is not as easy as people say it is. You have to have nerves of steel to not sell when BTC prices and dropping. Person on Just-Dice lost 7000 BTC playing a 96% win roll. Investing in mining equipment or BTC both have their challenges.
308  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Jalapeno received today - 5ghs mining at 7ghs on: November 24, 2013, 07:46:01 AM
Yep got my Jalapeno and it was mining at 7.5 ghs. Didn't pay for the upgrade so it was a pleasant surprise. I am mining with mine. I could sell but I prefer to mine.
309  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BTCJam on: November 21, 2013, 07:22:45 PM
BTCJam sucks. I had a loan to a guy who was offering 15% interest on a 3 BTC loan for 30 days. I did the loan and then at the end of the term he couldn't pay the interest but did pay back the initial amount. When I pulled my  BTC out they kept 5% for their fee. What they did to earn that  5% I don't know.
310  Economy / Computer hardware / BFL Single Scam on: November 21, 2013, 07:02:40 PM
So this guy has some singles he wants to sell on eBay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/60-GH-S-BFL-Single-SC-ASIC-Bitcoin-Miner-In-Hand-Ready-To-Ship-Pay-With-BTC-/161155908387?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2585a40323

I asked him about doing escrow and he says he won't because he wants immediate payment and won't wait for escrow. Also he wants payment only in BTC no Paypal. Does this seem fishy?
311  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [100 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: November 20, 2013, 05:12:53 PM
Four in a row??

0:28:41, 0:39:23, 0:40:31, 0:03:56

Gotta love these mining times  Grin

*knocks wood*

heh did an upgrade on my 1 month knc miner to the .99 firmware got an extra 25gh on slush plus this is very pleasant

1 month today on the Jupiter 550gh made 21 coins * 750 usd on www.mtgox.com ..yeah it is an insane number (paper dream only plan to keep but still)

been a good week to say the least

better to be dumb and lucky then plan I guess (was figuring on 9 month ROI not 25 days)

back in my day (old days of summer 2013) everyone mined 1st then they speculated...now it is probably better to speculate then mine...on the other hand
you can't mine right now easily equip is kinda shy.....whatever "the ways of bitcoin speculation ie china are mysterious to me"

What KNC did you buy? I'm wondering if I should do it on my Mercury...

well I had a "well running unit" and the knc update page says something to that effect if your unit runs well upgrade to .99

I myself was a coward it ran 555gh out of the box with 95 and was rock solid ...afraid I'd brick the unit I held off till this last diff adjustment and took a chance a couple days after 99 came out....and got a 25gh increase in gh on slush's fund as a result after it burned in for 24 hrs

also remember I have a Jupiter 550gh unit oct 18th at 7:30pm cst it went up and the 21 btc was made in a month from then till nov 18th 7:30pm cst  ie yesterday evening (we have day light savings time..goes back 1 hr) ..the 21 btc was made in that time frame also slush had some good luck the beg of the month when I put this unit up...also for the month my unit was only down 1 hr when slush had an upgrade issue is all otherwise mined

as to .99 well they say (see prev replys to me in threads over past few days) that you can go back and forth firmware w/o issues again this is if you have a 'stable unit" if it is flaking out with core 0 issues or other stuff maybe not such a good idea if you found a knc patch that works well (why I stalled) compared to others at first of month 555gh on .95 was screaming
but worked for me...

the only change is I only had maybe 1 core go off/on on my unit once every 4 hrs or so ...and then maybe 1 other 2x a day...now I have them go off on more and 2 more cores go off/on but not very often once every few hrs and not in clusters my temps went up with this patch on all my cores maybe 7 or 8c each.....I was told did not check that my elec use may have gone down from what it used on 95 (not an issue last month my elec was less then 100 bucks)

so my other idea is you can do the enablecores so that your cores are always on with only 2 cores kinda flakey and 2 other not even barely flakey wonder if their is a down side (overclock) elec use heat? etc so stalling on that till more info on enablecores risks

if enablecores is easy to toggle on off like the patches (I think you do the enablecores.bin the same way you upgrade  the firmware not sure thou)

anyway if it is an easy toggle may do so by enabling all my cores I may get maybe 5gh more out of the unit at best

what the heck

anyway...all I know sometimes it is better to be dumb and lucky to really knowing what you are doing

also when I got my miner on oct 18th I think bitcoin was $150 now it is according to www.mtgox.com it is $750 USD so yeah considering it was a hobby and I figured maybe I'd make ROI in 7-9 months maybe at best and making ROI in 25 days and $15,750 bucks in a month take that  21btc and you get $15,750 usd - $7,232.80 w/ship less power supply and that is (on paper I have no plans to sell btc) and you get $8,618.2 profit as of 2min ago...how people with 100 plus coins not cash in I have no idea ...I'm here a month and want to cash out as bad as a wino going to the store for ripple....(must resist)

what the heck it will probably all blow up go back to 200 and I'd still have a 25% return this month...so who knows what the heck

but like I said in the old days of summer 2013 every NOOB mined first then speculated .maybe all NOOBS now spreculate (no miners to get buy/quick) and will mine later

but human nature what it is a NOOB imho will buy equip on the chance they can get ROI for 7k ...not so much just drop 7k on a hunch that bitcoin will go up...or at least it was in ancient times of summer of 2013......

my 2c worth

Searing

You backed the right horse. If you had preordered equipment from Terrahash or did one of the group buys for chips then I think you probably would be singing a different story. I also believe that the people saying not to buy mining equipment are those who don't want to see the difficulty rise. Telling people to buy BTC instead drives the price up while they mine with their equipment.
312  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMiner Blade Custom Case on: November 19, 2013, 10:46:37 PM
I like it. This is a very clean setup for Asic Blades. A lot better than the PVC tube setup that I have seen people use.
313  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: FS:3xKNC Jupiter -22.5btc each with escrow. 21BTC each no escrow on: November 19, 2013, 08:11:23 AM
Still the same guy trying to sell his overpriced mining hardware. Why would anyone buy it when the will never break even?

Why does anyone buy a new car? The moment you drive it off the lot you have already lost 20% of it's value.

Right now the KNC Jupiter is one of the best miners available. They are sold out including the November batches. So the only way to get one is here or eBay. Sure 22.5 BTC is expensive. But so were first batch Avalon's.

Only time will tell if 22.5 btc for a KNC Jupiter is a good or bad investment. BTC value could drop to $1 and with it difficulty. You could then very easily get your 22.5 BTC back in a few weeks. Does that mean you break even? What if BTC price jumps to $2000 for 1 BTC. If the buyer is able to mine 10 BTC from the Jupiter then does it break even?

Everyone calculates ROI with increasing difficulty. They don't consider the possibility that BTC could take a dump and difficulty would then fall as people and farms stop mining due to the low BTC price.
314  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Fs bfl jalapeņo 6.8 gh on: November 19, 2013, 07:45:45 AM
No
He's offering $130 for 5GH/s, when there are 60GH/s machines selling for less than $800 now, I'd take that and be happy.

You have a BFL Jalapeno for sale at $130? Because if you do I'll buy. Also provide a link for 60GH/s machines selling for less than $800. I 'll buy those too.
315  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Jalapenos finally came! on: November 14, 2013, 05:49:16 PM
I got my Jalapeno a few weeks ago. I didn't pay for the upgrade but it was a 7.5 GH/s unit not the 5 GH/s one and so that was a surprise. I could sell it now on eBay for $500 to $600. Making almost double my investment. But I won't because I am a miner and I like mining. Seeing the little guy hashing away makes me smile.
316  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Did HashFast delivered any BabyJet yet ? on: November 12, 2013, 04:43:41 PM
HashFast starting to act more like BFL. Lots of delays and empty promises. They changed their TOS once. Who is to say they won't change it again.
317  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs 5Ghps or Blue Fury? on: November 11, 2013, 06:10:39 PM
I got a better story. About 4 months ago I almost purchased 13 GHs Asic Blade. The guy at the last moment sold it to someone else who was willing to give me more than the 43 BTC I offered. I would have never got ROI on that deal and go luck. I can't imagine those who paid over 50 BTC to Friedcat, what their ROI is on them.
318  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How much BTC per day is 60 GH/S producing for you? on: November 11, 2013, 06:04:17 PM
I don't really care about how much btc it is generating. My miner is by my feet and keeps me warm.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 10, 2013, 02:53:23 PM
I see some people love to calculate profit/loss in $ instead of BTC. To them I can say only this, the higher the value of BTC in $, the higher the LOSS you take if you don't mine back your spent BTC. Simple as that.
This is an example of my bad investment with KNC: I spent BTC 160 (about $18500 at the time I bought the gear) and i expect to mine back BTC 50. If BTC price goes to $1000, I will NOT have a gain of $50,000 - 18,500 = $ 31,500, but rather a loss of BTC 110, meaning a loss of $ 110,000

So you prefer that btc go down in value to $5 so that people stop mining and then your miner will make more btc. If difficult goes back to early 2013 levels then you will make your btc back and then some. Your 160 btc earned from mining would only be worth $800 in fiat. You then have a btc profit but fiat loss. Does this make you feel better? You would then consider this a good investment with KNC?
320  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: free electricity - In what should i invest at moment? on: November 09, 2013, 10:06:57 PM
Start a GPU farm with 50 7970s. Mine LTC. Good value now from LTC and you don't get the massive difficulty rise as such from BTC.  Setup 10 computers with 5 GPU each.  Your cost for this setup is about $8500. You can mine 30 LTC per day with this setup. Will get you $120 per day.  In 72 days you will have achieved ROI and then everything else is gravy. You can't see this with Asic mining gear.

FPGA and ASIC for scrypt is in development, I don't know how long until they do mass production, but when they do. Good luck...

FPGA for scrypt is not cost effective. You pay $600 for a FPGA that will mine at 500 KHs. A $200 7970 does 700-800 KHs. ASIC scrypt miners are years away if they will even be developed.
