We have re-evaluated and would like to move our bid to 50 @ 9.1 (is this possible?).

For a practical hint, this is a very liquid auction so unless you are buying in the hundreds (m billions), your bid does not have a noticeable effect on price. Therefore you do well to decide what is the maximum you want to pay (minimum yield to accept) and then bid that amount directly, and just wait until the end of the auction Marquess of Rome bids 50 @ 8 Royal Gifts
The Marquess of Rome, the Earl of Grass, Sir Riddick, Dr. SS, and zrue are also gifted a bottle of CLXII.
Thanks for the gracious gift!

Great initiative to clean up the code and improve the documentation, I like the long term / person independent vision. Is it possible using Shapeshift.io to donate, using XMR to BTC? Shapeshift does not seem to support the below feature: Make sure that you enter the payment ID to be aabe8732aabad9a7ec7c885015c3aeed2fcca66b1dc54fb089f01cb9d13c1f72! Otherwise, we will not be able to assign your contribution to this specific project! Looks like it doesn't. Easiest thing to do would be to create a new MyMonero account and use it as an intermediary.

is it normal to have no bitmonerod log? i have no idea how to route bitmonerod console output to a file on windows lol guess i should just recompile on the weekend and see how it goes from there You definitely should have one. It's not stored (by default) with bitmonerod. It's stored in c:\ProgramData\bitmonero where the DB files are.

By the end of 1983, I owned a Commodore 64 and wrote a basic word processor in 68000 assembly language No 6510 (essentially a 6502 plus some extra integrated functionality). 68000 assembly would be far less impressive as it was close to the pinnacle of user-friendly CISC microprocessor instruction sets. (After that ISA development went RISC or stalled.) Almost a high level language by comparison. Correct. Its been a while (22 years) The Atari ST was 68000. 1983 was 32 years ago(!).

Sorry if this has been asked before. Is there a trusted / open source Monero vanity address generator out there?
No. Well there's a Javascript one on Mooo's/saddam's site. It's super slow though. http://moneroaddress.org/There's one written in Go as well: https://github.com/ehmry/monero-vanityLast commit was 1+ year ago, but I don't think it would break with updates. I imagine Go would be at least a little speedier than JS, but not really sure. Interesting, checking it out. Update: seems to work well enough. I found 42Luigi overnight.

Stone has been transmuted to "buildings".
Notes: - In New City, Rome had 3,340,700 stone, which was transferred to Lucky Lion without compensation due to Rome not having a suitable lot. - In New City, Rome also bought the stone that could not be stored by the owner, for 133 m/stone
Interesting. Seems like Jacket got the good deal out of this one. 500 shares out of 2000 The CEO may have something to say about that. All I wanted to say is that the compensation was not debited because my job was just to get the stone away. You are free to do whatever with it now, including sell it if needed. (The easiest would be if LL pays the owner some agreed compensation, eg. the midprice 133 m/stone). Rome completely understands the reasoning. There is no harm done, and it will be sorted out.

Regarding #6, this is possible but will cost you 10 XMR. Importing into simplewallet is free.
<fluffyponies hate this guy If you create the seed, then log into MyMonero with it, THEN send coins to it, you won't have to pay the import fee (I think). It won't be a "real" cold storage account at that point though. You might as well create an address @ MyMonero instead to be honest. Of course it'll be a 13 word seed instead of 25 word, if you have some reason for preferring one over the other. Edit: looks like saddam hasn't updated http://moneroaddress.org yet. Grabbing mooo's version from Github should work great.

Thanks, merged, signed, and pushed. Addresses generated earlier are still totally valid of course, and can be restored with simplewallet. Yes indeed. Thanks. If someone desperately needs to restore their "cold storage" wallet to MyMonero, and they created it before this new change, they can contact me, and I'll walk them through it.

... Awesome spreadsheet, thanks for sharing!
Can I make the suggestion to change the date format? 9/7/2015 reads like the 9th of July 2015, but you mean the 7th of September 2015. So YYYYMMDD or DDMMYYYY would be less confusing then the current MMDDYYYY
Agreed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601 FTW FINE.

seems to me like there is some memory leak with 0.9 beta on win 7 x64. after letting it run 24h something like 8 gb of ram was used, but not visible in the task manager. once i stopped it ram droped down to the usual levels. will try to retest so i can give better feedback. I don't know what actual commit that beta is on, I'm on one from Aug. 10th, and having no issues with memory. I'm usually around 40MB. Edit: run with "--version" to see.

Liquidity has come back. That is what I like to see. My general expectation is for USD Price floor to rise inversely as block reward declines, until DNM adoption increases currency use. Being the most liquid privacy-enabled coin in the universe makes the selection of XMR a no-brainer.
The base block reward at the moment is 9.004 When is "halving day"? According to my spreadsheet, it's Sept. 7th, 2015. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qXi7zUSIh7F6UuSuhOryyFbHEy_LJuym3I3neAga_2s/edit?usp=sharing

NewCorp stone market has opened. In the mid-longer term (once we get the Quarry3 running and before the Boroughs 6, 8, 9 are opened to break the monopoly*) we intend to sell stone. But right now we also need to buy stone. So unless you have a reason for holding stone balances, now is a good time to sell them and net about +70% compared to the price of as little as 2 years** ago! So please mention directly to the admins if this is in your interest! - The current price is in /trade_stone tab! - The admin to record the trade gets a 7% commission payable by the buyer, NewCorp - The seller gets a NC1600C gold coin p.o. Also every buyer of stone from NewCorp gets the NC1600C gold coin p.o. as follows: - minimum buy to get the coin is 200,000 stone, or the whole amount needed in the building project, if it is less - minimum sale to get the coin is 200,000 stone, or the whole holding in a borough, if it is less - (when buying stone from us for a building project, the BI does not get a 7% commission, sorry ) We are looking forward to the Luigi stone market to open a competing service! It appears presently I'm again in the lead in total stone reserves, but overall stone reserves in the kingdom are very low. My stone market is open again, and prices have been adjusted...significantly. I encourage the wonderful citizens to consider selling to me, instead of reinforcing the coming monopoly! To help you to make the right choice, I'm offering significantly better purchase rates.

Hey Monero-ites... I have a question RE: MyMonero vs. the offline-wallet generator software.
I made an offline address and then tried to "open" it with the given mnemonic seed words in MyMonero, i.e. I was kinda just testing how all this might work IF some day I wanted to make a safe address, to put some monero on it, and then later (eventually) access it again to move/spend the money.
But the ADDRESSES that resulted were NOT the same!
Is that correct? How is this supposed to work, exactly?
For sake of illustration since I'm not gonna USE these addresses now, here is what I got:
Offline Generated Address: 4AYrGeied2XEbaL3uk3gBK1z95DQrcVwncMr5kXPUd7T4RoHhjxyryRWU7qvsp2wJ6L4g1eFaqM6YbD 6RX52j4KQ8PfuBk8
MyMonero Address: 4AYrGeied2XEbaL3uk3gBK1z95DQrcVwncMr5kXPUd7T4UcUpNefenD8HSZ7d9XWSXhmELmfCkvRQGT hzNeCUkaJKDd9nTV
MyMonero View Key (Private) 0ce617dbd51845dd6ada2f3b2d040b5deb6dde38f6640f65abc2a36518045802
MyMonero Spend Key (Private) 8c81ca3b40ae5c199ee10819b9c29959dcc4e97242d93cc6119938ea3858c303
Mnemonic Seed Was: gigantic motherly lordship worry pool karate lopped certain major demonstrate pepper colony jobs people befit merger lending envy lectures sifting puzzled nanny lodge paper certain
So...? IF I had sent money to that first address WOULD IT have BEEN there at this "second" address? I suppose I could just test it with a few cents worth, LOL, but seriously this doesn't seem RIGHT.
An address is an address and for normal humans to EVER be able to understand any of this stuff I think at least THAT has to be consistent.
That...is...weird. MyMonero's viewkey is completely wrong, it should be 0a731057880aec5b222887ee5101e5d8b6c0734c30cefb293f512f4c75637009. I'm going to have to figure out what's gone wrong. Did you use the HTML offline generator, as in this one: https://github.com/moneromooo-monero/monero-wallet-generator ? I can answer this. It's due to the way the MyMonero code derives the viewkey, which is different than simplewallet. Now, for "MyMonero" 13 word seeds, this is correct as it's the established behavior. For 25 word seeds, things can get a bit wonky. Without getting too technical, simplewallet only generates "seeds" that are valid private keys, but will accept *any* 25 word seed. Mooo's address generator currently produces random seeds, not ensuring they are valid private keys. Due to the way MyMonero creates the view key, it will come up different ("random seed" vs "valid private key seed"). If anyone is interested in the code, I wrote it up here a few days ago: http://pastebin.com/MHYZzWWzSimple answer: if you send coins to either of those addresses, they'll be recoverable; you'll just have to pay attention (you can "properly" generate the view key from the seed and log into MyMonero with the "Login with Public Key" if you want). Bonus: here's the seed for that address which will work for both simplewallet and MyMonero (will produce your first address): hoisting sorry alerts sieve request stockpile eels bemused digit ivory acidic guru jobs people befit merger lending envy lectures sifting puzzled peeled maze mocked lectures
