The fact that the description of the pool (advertising) are out of date since 2011 is this normal? It turns out in this forum, give false information .... For 4 years a lot could change
I think you'll need to point out which information is wrong.

how do i turn namecoins into bitcoins?
You can sell them at an exchange, for example btc-e.com

To create a successful new coin you really have to create something significantly better than bitcoin. And even then bitcoin may just copy your new fancy feature and you lose anyway.
Even if you could beat bitcoin it probably makes more sense to work WITH bitcoin instead.

With rentals on average you earn a little less than what you pay. The more you mine the more money you lose.

Back before it became completely impossible to mine with a PC, bitminter was my introduction to mining. I hope you are pleased with how easy and accessible your software and mining pool make it for new comers.
Definitely. I hope it helped some people get started with mining and perhaps even with bitcoin. Getting close to 340 000 registered users now. Now that it is almost impossible for newbies to mine without ASICs, have you given any consideration to doing a bitminter for an altcoin?
I thought about it sometimes. But most altcoins appear to be scams people came up with to make themselves rich. They have no purpose and crap code. Or usually they don't even have code, just the bitcoin code and a quick search-replace of the name bitcoin to something else. And after one or two rounds of pump-and-dump they die off. An altcoin pool would probably have to replace the coins as they die off and new scamcoins are hyped up. I'd probably feel that I was taking part in scamming people.

So if i wanna earn bitcoin what i need to doexcept faucets? What is wrong with that application so that it works so slow? I saw one's app in first page of topic that runs faster than mine. If i can get it run faster?
PCs are useless for mining now, since 2013. You need to buy bitcoin ASIC mining hardware.

All our four namecoin blocks today have been orphaned. This happened because a mining pool named F2pool (also known as Discus Fish) decided to enforce BIP66 rules on the namecoin network before all the other pools. Since they have somewhere around 75% of the namecoin hashpower they are basically controlling namecoin at this point.
The last of our orphaned blocks was one of 11 blocks mined by the other pools, all orphaned as F2pool's fork overtook us with 12 blocks. I'm not sure how many blocks from other pools have been orphaned in total.
Bitminer is now running modified namecoin software to mimic F2pool's behavior and stay on their side of these forks. That should help us avoid any further orphans caused by this issue.

Reminder: getblocktemplate and getwork support ends tomorrow on the first of august.
If you are using a pool URL that starts with "http" then you need to switch to stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333 (or if you are using an ancient version of Bitminter client, switch to the latest)
Since the shutdown was announced we have gone from 120 to 90 active HTTP mining clients. Compared to the 17000 active Stratum connections this is a small fraction of our miners. It doesn't look like everyone will switch in time though. If you need help with this, please ask.

Ok, let me know if you keep seeing miners fail over. Most useful would be your IP address, the time period the miner couldn't connect to mint.bitminter.com and a traceroute to mint.bitminter.com Email that to me at operator@bitminter.com or use the contact form on the website (don't post your IP here or anywhere else public). How to traceroute: Windows: open a command prompt and type tracert mint.bitminter.comLinux/Mac: open a terminal window and type traceroute mint.bitminter.comCopy-paste the output.

If it had been the olympics they would be drug testing your mining rigs right now ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

My Miner keeps going to another pool? Not sure what is up? It reconnects to bitminter tho.
How often does this happen? Could you try us2.bitminter.com:3333 or eu1.bitminter.com:3333 and see if that is more stable for you than mint.bitminter.com:3333 ?

Yeah, you can see how it was dragging its feet registering work for a while, and then speeding up again. All work was registered though.

Bitminter is phasing out GBT. Could you update the local work column to only Stratum? Thanks ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Steam OpenID (steamcommunity.com) is down. If you use Steam login at Bitminter and you need to log in before their server is up then use the contact form on bitminter.com to get help.
