301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What memecoins are you holding atm? on: March 06, 2024, 09:07:14 PM
Meme coin was one of the hot topics which the solana meme project tried to revive. Meme project has become a ground point for the whales to grab greedy retail investors money. Solana also tried to bring their own meme project craze, and now it seems avalance ecosystem is also trying to make their own meme project that will make a position in the market. There can be a lot of meme project that are making a lot of money for some people but i still believe they are just some kind of scam.

I'm certain Dogecoin isn't a scam. Especially when original developers intended it to be a "joke". Not to mention, it has a large community backing it since its inception. What I would call a "scam" are the bunch of other coins that appeared right after Elon Musk "pumped" DOGE all the way to the moon. I'm talking about Shiba Inu, Floki Inu, Pepe, etc. Such coins won't last a long time because the ones behind them are only interested in profits (not because they want to get seriously involved in development/innovation).

If you put your money into "meme" coins, you should be prepared to lose all of your money in an instant. They're a "high risk, high reward" investment. Why not choose BTC or ETH instead? I won't be surprised if 99% of "meme" coins die in the future, as people move onto the next big thing in crypto. Just my opinion Smiley
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Odds for approving a Solana spot ETF? on: March 06, 2024, 09:00:38 PM
I agree to this. I see no chance for the approval of a spot ETF for Solana in the foreseeable future. It is currently clear that it will not be easy even for Ethereum. Ethereum has been a very stable and established network for years. Solana, on the other hand, regularly makes negative news due to its instability. At times, the network even came to a complete standstill. An ETF must be able to buy or sell the underlying asset at any time. If it cannot do this, it is not liquid. I therefore see no future for a Solana ETF.

Of course. Reliability is a must. Especially if we want "Wall Street" to "pump" market prices all the way to the moon. As I've said before, the upcoming node software release for Solana (Firedancer), should fix the network's inherent issues once and for all. At least, that's the goal. I sure hope developers focus on quality instead of quantity to make Solana a real ETH contender in the long run.

For a coin that suffered dearly from the FTX implosion, and constant network outages, I'm surprised to see it among the top ranks in market cap. Anything's possible in crypto land, right? Cheesy
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin's comeback on: March 06, 2024, 08:56:21 PM
yeah, it's quite disappointing to see what's happening with Litecoin. People used to like it for its gains, but now it's not doing so well. If you look at the market, almost every coin is going up except Litecoin. The truth is, Litecoin has been stagnant for years. It's just sliding down the rankings, and no one talks about it when it's down. but there was a time when people saw Litecoin as a digital currency with real-world use. But nowadays, everyone's just focused on making a profit, and they don't care about anything else. Still, there are some who genuinely believe in its long-term success. It's still in the top 20 coins, so maybe someday money will flow from Bitcoin to Litecoin. who knows?

Funny thing is that nearly every crypto exchange has an LTC trading pair. That's a good sign of how healthy the Litecoin market is. No one may be talking about LTC's upcoming halving event or its limited supply now, but that might change in the future as crypto/Blockchain tech goes deep into the mainstream. The approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs were the first step towards exposure/publicity of the whole industry. If things keep progressing, it's likely LTC will experience a new ATH in market prices.

The sky is the limit to how far Litecoin will go. At least, it's a far more decentralized alternative than Ethereum or Solana. As long as there's a community backing the project every step of the way, there should be nothing to worry about. Cheesy
304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decentralized vs Centralized Gambling....Which do you prefer? on: March 06, 2024, 08:53:42 PM
Decentralized is what I prefer to avoid big taxes and also, gambling is not totally allowed in my country which quite creates a barrier or limitation for gamblers to bet. But I do still play with centralized gambling sites in some games which are not available with web 3.0

That's the idea. To be able to gamble online regardless of government regulations and/or restrictions. Decentralized casinos don't require KYC, and are usually governed/managed by the rules embedded within smart contracts. A few of them don't collect profits for the creator of the contract (making them fair). I sure hope we get to see more decentralized gambling dApps that would make gamblers' lives easier. Particularly those living in restrictive countries such as China and Russia.

With the future set to be dominated by AI, the Blockchain, and Quantum Computing, I wouldn't be surprised if decentralized gambling replace (or becomes comparable to) their centralized counterparts in the long run. Just my thoughts Grin
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the largest meme coin ever? on: March 05, 2024, 07:33:06 PM
Dogecoin is the first meme coin.

Shiba Inu is copycat from Dogecoin.

Floki, Babydogecoin, and Mona are copycat from Shiba Inu.

Pepe is first shitcoin run in BRC-20 chain.

You're forget with Bone ShibaSwap, Dogelon Mars, Doge Killer, and Dejitaru Tsuka where all of them are shitcoins.

If you want to buy meme coin, you should only choose in Dogecoin.

You forgot to mention Garlicoin, and Monacoin (not to be confused with the copycat "Mona"). The first one is relatively new to crypto land with a limited supply of only 69 million units. It's completely different from the average "meme" coin. But it has a low price due to poor marketing/promotion efforts, and inactive development. Then we have Monacoin which is a very old "meme" coin often admired in Japan. This last one has survived, despite the fact that other "meme" coins have taken the crypto world by storm.

While investing in "meme" coins is a gamble, it wouldn't hurt doing DCA for short-term profits. For something more serious, Bitcoin is the only solution. One thing is certain, and that is no other "meme" coin can outmatch Dogecoin in terms of market cap and price. It's like saying Ethereum or Solana will overcome Bitcoin in the future (which will never happen). Cheesy
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Odds for approving a Solana spot ETF? on: March 05, 2024, 07:28:41 PM
It will not become a reality. The stability from the blockchain probably one of consideration to add it as ETF, solana blockchain is not yet stable and it can also go offline anytime. It will be very embarrassing to be listed as ETF if solana blockchain can still down anytime.

Of course. The SOL blockchain must focus on stability/reliability if it wants to gather "Wall Street's" attention. Why would anyone want to use it in the first place (other than whales)? There is hope that the new "Firedancer" node software would provide a permanent fix to the network outages. At the time of this writing, the SEC delayed the application for Ethereum spot ETFs. Don't expect Solana to get one before Ethereum, though.

Nevertheless, the future is bright for the whole crypto/Blockchain industry. If SOL went from ~$20 to ~$120 a few months later, it could easily reach a new ATH with the spot ETFs. In crypto land, anything's possible. It wouldn't "hurt" to "hodl" a few SOL tokens, right? Cheesy
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana blockchain on: March 05, 2024, 06:38:45 PM
Many investors made huge profits when they bought solana at the previous bottom. The workings of the blockchain have not changed since then. I think that in the near future nothing will change and the blockchain will not work stably. But now it is probably too late to buy coins.

The blockchain could improve if developers put their efforts into it. There are rumors that a new third-party node software (Firedancer) will solve Solana's network outages for good. If that happens, we should expect SOL to become a reliable cryptocurrency for payments and all things "De-Fi". I would never compare it against Ethereum because of it's semi-centralized design. But nothing can beat Solana in terms of cost-efficiency and performance.

Imagine how big it will grow with the approval of a Solana spot ETF by the SEC. The sky is the limit to how far will the cryptocurrency go. Crypto land often behaves in many strange and bizarre ways, so expect the unexpected. Grin
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin's comeback on: March 05, 2024, 05:07:38 PM
It is often stated that litecoin lacks marketing not only here but also in the litecoin telegram, the forum, on x etc..

The answer was that they like it like that. Litecoin moves at its own speed so it seems. The litecoin foundation invests in updates but not in marketing.
Marketing Litecoin is big events talking about litecoin to litecoiners. Splendid idea to make its features known to people already knowing those features.

That's true. Litecoin lacks marketing compared to the rest of the pack. I think that's a good thing because it forces the project to focus on utility, instead of hype. The cryptocurrency goes up in price at a slow and steady rate. With relatively-stable market prices, LTC could be the crypto of choice for those looking into a reliable store of value that's truly-decentralized. "Wall Street" already joined the revolution with the Bitcoin spot ETFs, so there's a high chance Litecoin will get its own ETF in the future.

I'll see you in the next bull market. Maybe Litecoin will finally get the attention it deserves? Cheesy
309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decentralized vs Centralized Gambling....Which do you prefer? on: March 05, 2024, 04:49:51 PM
The fact that a game is built with a smart contract is not enough to call a casino decentralized because the guys who generate that smart contract are the ones who create the rules of the game and the ones who will get profit in the long run. I don't see what doesn't have of decentralized. I mean the community can't change the house edge, that would be a good example of how a decentralized project works.

For me, all of them are centralized, but they use different technologies to operate, that's all.

Some smart contracts are built this way. The developer can decide if he/she wants the profit to be transferred to his/her address, or remain on the contract itself (to pay for gas fees, etc). Decentralized gambling could have a future if governments start cracking down on centralized gambling sites (particularly those dealing with cryptocurrencies).

Gamblers will ultimately decide which kind of casino or gambling site is best for them. As long as gambling is done in a fair & responsible way, nothing else matters. Smiley
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🟣OFFICIAL SOLANA THREAD 🟣 [ Discuss everything about Solana here ] on: March 05, 2024, 12:34:34 AM
can some one please explain how the SOL chain keep "stopping" then restarting .... how does Sol maintain integrity?

It keeps restarting because it's a "shitcoin". If it was a serious project, developers would've addressed the network outages by now (with a permanent fix). They're now hyping the launch of a third-party node software (Firedancer), claiming it will fix Solana's problems once and for all. I'm yet to see whenever that will be the case in the long run.

With Solana being an unreliable chain, it's best to look for other options. Why not choose Polygon instead? It's cheaper, and faster than Ethereum. Best of all, it has been running smoothly since launch (if I'm not mistaken). It's a "free market", so time will tell us which coin wins and which one goes all the way down the drain in an instant. Grin
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON is bad coin, here is why on: March 05, 2024, 12:28:32 AM
It is cheaper than Ether. This is the biggest good reason that explains the success of Tron, after it succeeded in attracting a large portion of Ethereum users, especially those searching for the best way to complete financial transactions. However, in terms of development, Ethereum is superior to other networks, and the number of active applications on Ethereum can be noted. The other problem with Ethereum is that high fees lead to low transaction speeds. Therefore, higher fees and a delay in confirmation. Unfortunately, these problems will increase after moving from pow to pos.

Cost-efficiency is NOT a guarantee a crypto project will be successful in the long run. I've seen many "shitcoins" with cheap fees and fast confirmation times, only to be forgotten because of lack of development and innovation. Remember, it's not about the hype. But rather the utility of any given cryptocurrency.

I'm afraid TRON will die soon, especially when investors prefer other coins. It's been years without any substantial movement in market prices. It would be a "miracle" if TRX hits $1 in the future. The competition is fierce, but there can only be one winner. And we all know no one can beat the "King of Altcoins" (ETH). Cheesy
312  Economy / Economics / Re: China are back to mining Bitcoin. on: March 05, 2024, 12:13:49 AM
China is back; or was it ever out? The prohibition was a distraction from global economic dominance. Think about it. Bitcoin mining is about power, control, and the new financial system, not just bitcoin. The Chinese government's flip is a deliberate strategy in a complex geopolitical chess game, not a crypto value epiphany

What about economic impact? Don't kid ourselves. Bitcoin mining's impact goes beyond miner profitability. It's about entering the digital frontier and safeguarding the future's financial pie. This is strategy, not charity. Bitcoin will boost China's economy, but at what cost to global power? Watch this space; the game is just starting

Of course. It has always been about power and control. If China adopts the revolution, it can increase its chances of global economic dominance. That's assuming it moves quickly in embracing crypto/Blockchain innovation before anyone else. The US could be left behind in the dust with its uncertain crypto regulations.

China is already one step ahead with the launch of a CBDC (the eCNY). It could support its economy by secretly mining Bitcoin. Russia could be doing the same. Who knows how China's Bitcoin mining operations will fare in the future? Smiley
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cash (Paper Money) vs Monero on: March 04, 2024, 11:45:59 PM
monero there are no online stores that support payments using monero. so of course it cannot be used for transactions. while fiat money or cash can be used for shopping anywhere and anytime. if for flexibility, of course, choose to use fiat money or cash.

That's not a problem. Especially when you can trade XMR to another cryptocurrency through a DEX or instant exchange (Changelly, FixedFloat, etc.). If there's an online store that doesn't accept XMR, you can convert your coins to one that can be used as payment method on the platform.

The main reason why stores don't accept XMR directly is because of fear from the government. They're afraid the government will shut down their business or hold them accountable for performing transactions that can't be tracked or traced whatsoever (which opens the door to money laundering, tax evasion, etc). It's the "image" Monero has for being a privacy coin. At least we know what to use once central banks take down paper money for good. Cheesy
314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decentralized vs Centralized Gambling....Which do you prefer? on: March 04, 2024, 11:41:14 PM
Let's assume that gas fees and confirmation times are negligible. I'm still somewhere in between centralized and decentralized platform. The reason for this is because, with centralized platforms, you know what kind of service you will be getting unlike decentralized gambling platforms that comes with inherent smart contract risks. So it's a case of "The devil you know is better than angel you don't know".

The second reason is because decentralized gambling platforms still have a long way in terms of user experience. I wanted to play recently at a web3 gambling platform on zksync recently and they didn't have good games and most fixtures in sports section were not confirm and very few features. There are other shortcomings so I'd still stick with centralized platforms in the interim.

You can always verify the smart contract's code to determine if it's safe. That's assuming you have some level of technical knowledge (particularly in programming). If you don't, you'd need to make sure smart contracts were audited by a reputable security company before launch. I know decentralized gambling is far from perfect, but it's a good alternative for those living in countries where online gambling is illegal.

As far as I know, gambling dApps don't require KYC. However, you can get flagged or traced by the government within the Blockchain itself. That's because most blockchain networks with smart contract capabilities don't have built-in privacy features. I'm talking about Ethereum, BNB, Solana, and the likes. Maybe developers will solve this by making use of ZKPs (Zero Knowledge Proofs)? Until then, centralized gambling would be the preferred choice of many gamblers. Just my thoughts Grin

316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Decentralized vs Centralized Gambling....Which do you prefer? on: March 01, 2024, 10:25:51 PM
Thanks to the inception of smart contracts, we can now enjoy decentralized gambling in a provably fair way. I've used a few gambling dApps in the past, and the experience was great. Except now that dApps charge high gas fees (on ETH) due to increased network congestion. But with L2 scaling solutions and alternative chains, this should no longer be a problem.

Do you think decentralized gambling dApps will eventually replace their centralized counterparts? If not, why? Which do you prefer? Centralized or decentralized gambling? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Odds for approving a Solana spot ETF? on: March 01, 2024, 10:18:56 PM
If Ethereum gets its own spot ETFs approved by the SEC, do you think the same will happen with Solana in the future? I mean, Solana is the most popular smart contract Blockchain after Ethereum. It rose exponentially in price over the past few months. If spot ETFs are approved, market prices will soar all the way to "Mars".

What do you think? Will a Solana spot ETF become a reality? If not, why? What are the odds for approval? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your view and your opinion about Ethereum? on: March 01, 2024, 06:29:58 PM
The second most popular cryptocurrency coin is ethereum, Ethereum is ranked #2 in the cryptocurrency market place. Currently many people are investing in Ethereum and they say that investing in Ethereum can be more profitable than Bitcoin, because they say that when Bitcoin is 100k then Ethereum price will reach 10k. In this they can earn more than Bitcoin. Also, some are saying that once Ethereum's SEC charges are over, the price will rise so much that they will be able to profit more than Bitcoin.

What is your view and your opinion about Ethereum? You can share if you want.

For once, Ethereum was one of the most decentralized cryptocurrencies after Bitcoin. But things have changed with the switch to PoS. I think Ethereum is now dominated by VCs, institutional investors, and companies alike. They hold a large stake in the network. ETH could make you profits if it keeps rising in price. But what use would that make if the network itself is centralized? Most people want to make money instead of focusing on what matters most. Only truly-decentralized crypto projects will stand the test of time.

I couldn't imagine what will happen with ETH after the hype ends (or worse, when Vitalik Buterin is no longer with us). At least, the code is open source. With forks like Ethereum Classic, and ETHW, we can still relive the good-old days of ETH. We can't predict the future, can we? Cheesy
319  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is never enough! on: March 01, 2024, 06:27:07 PM
People have a habit of not being satisfied. In truth, there is nothing wrong with being greedy or having many dreams in life, as long as you don't do harm to others to get everything you want. For me, if you are capable of doing something and you know yourself that you can achieve your dreams, there is nothing wrong if we aspire even higher.

It's been proven from time to time that money doesn't make people happy. I've heard stories of rich people falling into depression and even suicide. To live a fulfilling life, you need a lot more than just money. At least, having money allows you to survive in this world.

Why focus on accumulating wealth when you won't take anything with you after you die? If you don't have any heirs, all of the money you've accumulated will be long gone. Be aware that "money is the root of all evil". Just don't let greed take control of your life, and you'll achieve true peace of mind. Grin
320  Economy / Economics / Re: USA Economic and power status will go lower new Country will take over on: March 01, 2024, 06:24:32 PM
The US dollar is the strength of almost every country, and right now we can't fully rely on it for economical survival due to  some
economical factors on ground. The US economy is shaky right now and that's why people are looking for better options like cryptocurrencies.
Whether USA remains the superpower or not we can still opt out to better alternatives and choices to cope with as human beings.

I don't think i have a problem with France holding the superpower, and there are several countries that wants to be recognized as the world's superpower but whichever case as it may be,there should be a smooth running of the global markets, leading to a significant difference in the economic system at large.

The only way there would be a "smooth running of the global markets" is if geopolitical tensions and wars come down to a halt. And I don't see that happening anytime soon. Until Russia stops its invasion of Ukraine, and the Israel-Hamas conflict comes to an end, things will only get worse. The US has been showing signs of weakness for quite some time now. I believe the Biden administration has been the worse by far in its handling of foreign policy, the economy, and domestic issues.

One would hope a change in leadership would make the US stronger in the long run. Otherwise, we can say bye-bye to the US as the world's leading superpower. Its replacement could be either China, Russia, or the EU itself (in which France is gaining traction). We're living in uncertain times, so lets hope for the best. Smiley
