3061  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Polygon (MATIC) to $20? on: May 23, 2023, 12:56:48 PM
MATIC's price continues to drop from the highs.  It seems like it hasn't yet bottomed out which is odd since most other cryptos have.  That makes me think that the large holders have never stopped cashing out, which is a bit of being a victim of it's own success.  So many people are still sitting on such massive gains in this coin, it seems like the selling will continue for some time.  When it stops, nobody knows.  I certainly am not watching the whale's wallets to determine when they're going to stop selling.  It's good tech though and I think the best candidate for a metaverse currency that we have currently.

Of all the designs to use, why would they use that one? I know it was originally designed by MJB, but it has been completely ruined. Just the amount of shitty AliExpress "coins" I've seen with that specific design makes it instantly undesirable.

Everyone always rips off Mick's design.  It's pretty incredible how he managed to create something that is still being ripped off more than a decade later.  I'm guilty of it too to some extent (I actually paid Mick 'MJB' to create the designs for my Binary rounds as well as my Bitpics).  Whenever I see a creator here use his images though I always try and encourage them to at least send Mick a free one since I doubt they'd consider royalties.  This is something I'd like to see more of from this community.  We should be standing up for creators like Mick instead of buying their designs from creators that simply rip them off.
3063  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is every body absolutly responsible for the outcome of his or her future? on: May 23, 2023, 12:47:00 PM
If there are infinite realities where everything that can happen does happen, what do you think is responsible for the outcomes you experience?  I believe it is your mind, so in a way you determine your reality by your actions.  If there is truly a reality out there where everyone is President or a Hall of Fame athlete, what do you think would determine which reality you experience?  I would think your actions which are determined by your mind are what decides.  So when people say they pray for things or manifest them, it is likely they are determining their future with their thoughts/actions, not magically getting what they want because they asked for it, although it can appear that way.
3064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mempool issue and suggestion: Better if Mempool was planned differently on: May 23, 2023, 12:43:42 PM
Nothing is perfect in life, and Bitcoin is not an exception, I believe there is more to be done. As much as I appreciate and advocate for Bitcoin since I adopted it, I won't still turn a blind eye to the issues that need to be resolved, if possible. The pressing one is the issue related to the high fee/congestion period in which transactions could be unconfirmed for only God knows when.

For over 2 weeks, I've not seen the unconfirmed transactions in the mempool lower than 250,000, which is not acceptable with a good system. There should be a modality/plan/rule (as you might call it) that even miners must obey in which transactions must not be abandoned for more than a certain period of time irrespective of the fee used. It could be within 24 hours, a week, or a month at max (I don't recommend this long), it doesn't matter. Not that people's money would be held in the system without a stamped date it would ever be confirmed.

I think the mempool is simple and effective.  I think it is perfect and is one of the few things about Bitcoin I can't see needing any type of change.  What you're proposing would require more blockspace, as simple as that.  Otherwise, you'd be creating a system where delayed transactions have an advantage over quick transactions, which I don't think is the type of thing you want to be incentivizing.  The only incentive that Bitcoin needs is the block reward.  Incentives like blockspace advantages for Lightning is what leads to issues like we are currently experiencing with Ordinals.  Should have never been done.
3065  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BRC-20 needs to be removed on: May 23, 2023, 12:38:25 PM
Bitcoin was designed as a method for peer-to-peer exchanges (see quote from Satoshi in sig). It was not originally intended to support tokens or smart contracts.

Bitcoin has essentially become digital gold. These changes are breaking the network and eroding the years of trust that Bitcoin has created. This is what gives it value.

Bitcoin will never offer the transactions per second to support these type of transactions. There are many altcoins that do a better job of providing this utility. Let them do that.

The change to allow BRC-20 in Taproot needs to be rolled back. This is a dangerous, fatal flaw to the network that could be used to bring an end to Bitcoin.

What are your thoughts? Should BRC-20 be removed? What is the best way to do this?

I don't see any difference between BRC-20's use of the blockchain and the Lightning network's use.  I also don't think taproot is what enabled the current issues as much as segwit, but what do I know?

You say Bitcoin was designed as a method for peer-to-peer exchange, and then go on to say it has become digital gold.  Is evolution of the protocol a good thing or a bad thing?  Did you expect that the Lightning network would continue to have a blockspace advantage without thinking other projects wouldn't take advantage of it as well?  If anything, this BRC-20 stuff is long overdue.
3066  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Web Browsers begun to have inbuilt Cryptocurrency Wallets on: May 23, 2023, 12:35:02 PM
I still can't believe that Bitcoin hasn't gotten a web browser wallet that can log you into websites using your Bitcoin address the way that metamask (and now others) has been adopted by the web3 community.  Shocking nobody has built it yet.  Almost even a little disgraceful that we aren't logging into this website by signing a message with our wallets or something.  It's like actual real world development of Bitcoin stopped half a decade ago but nobody noticed because the number keeps going up so who cares...  Hopefully if web browsers building crypto wallets is becoming more popular, one of them will take it upon themselves to bring Bitcoin up to 2016 tech expectations.
3067  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 23, 2023, 12:31:09 PM
Reality has an anti-woke bias.
Man is man.
Woman is woman.

https://twitter.com/TheRabbitHole84/status/1660455838375616512?t=L0RwmbmoOjLZcuvTat7qkg&s=19

(Males become female by changing organs but cannot change bones.)
Due to which a man is unable to give birth even if he is a woman.

not exactly true . the bone structure part is true. but you do not change your organs you simply mutilate them.

ie when you operate on a girl and mutilate her pussy into a dick and balls she/he can not get pregnant or make a girl get pregnant.

or if you savage a guys johnson and balls into a pussy and whatever else then he/she can’t get pregnant or get any girl pregnant.

So it is not a true transgender it is a true trans mutation.

I have zero issue with an adult wanting to mutilate their body into a sterile body.

But I do have an issue on pushing this on anyone under 16-18 as kids do not need to make life long decisions about their reproductive abilities.

If science could really change you from boy to girl and back to boy.

or from girl to boy and back to girl fine but until we can it is simply mutilation of your body.

The really crazy part about the trans movement to me is that they say the parts you have don't determine your sex, but then they all want to rush to change their parts...  They say that they want to be accepted for who they are, but then want to literally change who they are.  It's all so twisted I think you have to have a certain level of mental illness to see any logic in their thinking.

However, Bitcoin doesn't care what you do to your dick.  It's back on the uptrend after testing the trading range lows over the weekend.  I wouldn't be surprised if we were back to testing $30K by the end of the month.
3068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 23, 2023, 12:27:38 PM
It's a sweep! I thought this was going to overtime but Gordon had other plans hehe. He also redeemd himself with that block after missing crucial free throws.

What do you think of LA's final play? I was thinking the coach should give it to AD to tie the game during the last timeout.

The last quarter was really a struggle and you can see how hard for them to defend and also make some baskets against the Denver Nuggets. the Lakers are tired and cannot shoot well in the 4th quarter and they are terribly missing despite their great performance in the first half. Well! that's just the way it is, clearly the Nuggets are way too much for them this year and what we want to see next time is the Miami Heat vs the Denver Nuggets in the NBA finals this year. I wonder how far will Butler's luck bring him this season because we all know that they came from the play-in tournament and beat every team to soon reach the NBA finals when they beat the Celtics tomorrow.
The Nuggets are the better team, I think it just shows how they really are the number 1 team in the West as they finished the job here, sweeping the Lakers. And even if they are down like 15 points at the end of the first half, they didn't panic or what, because they know the caliber of the team.

Thus, when they started to make a comeback in the 3rd with Jokic and Murray taking over you can sense that the Lakers are going to lose this game already. So congrats, and I think it could have been a blessing for Jokic to not win the MVP 3rd straight year, but at least now they are going to the finals.

The Nuggets team has definitely been being built over a period of several years and they did it by developing young players like MCP while picking up guys with a lot of potential like Gordon.  I've been saying for years now that they were going to be the next up team.  Great to see it play out.  Honestly, I don't know how they managed to get Gordon without giving up much, but to me that was the piece that put them over the top.  The Lakers are still trying to figure out who to play with their team slapped together at the end of the season.  I think LeBron forgot what it takes to build a championship team.
3069  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Menbership- 3.5m registered only 56k members survived?..... Why? on: May 22, 2023, 07:19:24 PM
When you think about how many of those "survived" members are using multiple accounts here it surely would reduce the overall count far below 56K.  Bots, alts, newbies that will never come back...  I'd honestly be surprised if there were 20K real active members here.  Still, I think the poll seems like people are figuring out the issues here.  DT is no longer a reflection of activity and trust on these boards, but a showing of political posturing and dealmaking to protect each other's interests and punish those they disagree with (SHOCKER: mostly liberals trying to silence and discredit conservatives).  It's actually shameful that it is still around in it's current form, but the only people who seem to care are the ones who's obsession with gaining trust inclusions has caused this mess.
3070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 22, 2023, 04:31:07 PM
Slightly crazy that the Lakers are down 3-0 to the Nuggets but for whatever reason the lakers are the favorite to win tonight. I know as a gambler you can’t pass on those sorts of odds but I don’t think this Lakers team is going to let their season end by being swept at home. We’ll see. Plus, they’re saying Mo Bamba will play tonight and make a difference. I have my doubts but I would feel safe betting LeBron to win to protect his legacy tonight.
3071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 22, 2023, 05:19:25 AM
You could see the Celtics give up in that game vs the Heat. I think they lose the next one and call it a year. For some reason I haven’t counted the Lakers out yet, but after what I saw tonight the Celtics are as good as done for the year. Quite possible the Lakers only have one game left this year though so don’t miss it tomorrow.
3072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with low spec computer? on: May 21, 2023, 10:39:01 PM
Hello, i am new to the Cryptocurrency sceen and i am wondering what cryptocurrency requires the least amount of computing power to mine.

Your question isn't as simple as it sounds.  There are all sorts of different coins you could mine, but in the end it depends on if you want to hold the coins or hold BTC.  You can use a service like Nicehash to mine using GPUs but get paid in Bitcoin.  They have a program that will even switch to the most profitable coin for you.  I assume when you say least computing power, you mean most profitable.  This is another good resource to check out: https://whattomine.com/

Your computer doesn't matter much to be honest.  It's mainly about what GPU you have and if it is profitable to use.  Check out whattomine for that info.
3073  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 21, 2023, 10:34:44 PM
It looks to me like the current danger is still the head and shoulders pattern that would take the price down 30% to $20,000.  Will it happen?  I wouldn't consider it more likely that a breakout upward, but we are still trapped in this consolidation range from $26K to $30K that we've been in for over 2 months now.  Lately we have been pressing against the bottom of that range, and falling through likely would mean completing the head and shoulders pattern.  So if you're a leveraged trader, I wouldn't get too far from that sell button.  If we drop below $26K it could get ugly fast.
3074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 21, 2023, 09:56:04 PM
Another day with a team being down 0-2 and being the favorites. I think given the odds you have to take the Heat here. I’m surprised the Celtics have been playing so poorly and think they’ll win, but as a gambler I don’t think you can bet on a 0-2 team who has the odds unless they’ve got a player returning or something. So I’d take the Heat.
3075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 21, 2023, 06:34:24 AM
Oh WOW, Denver!
3:0 versus the Lakers with yet another dominating performance!
They didn't even need Jokic to have a monster game, just a normal one was enough tp win in LK.

Not sure if you guys know, Denver has not only never won the championship before, they never played in the finals as well!
The way this is going they can plan for the finals. I also think they will win the whole thing.
With Boston having their back on the wall, these finals can come faster than expected. There might be a chance to see a double sweep in the conference finals this year, not sure if this ever happened.

Looking forward to the Miami game today/tomorrow. If Miami can defend their home court both series stand at 3:0, who would have thought.

Really looking like it’s going to be the Nuggets and Heat in the Finals. I’m happy for the Nuggets. They’re packed with young talent and I’ve been saying for years now they were the next team up. I wanted to see LeBron add to his legacy but it appears it won’t be happening this year without some history making run now to win 4 straight and advance.
3076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 21, 2023, 12:59:24 AM
With the Los Angeles Lakers vs Denver Nuggets game about to start, I think the analysts pretty much nailed it. I’m expecting a lower scoring game with Jokic scoring most of the Nuggets points. DeAngelo Russell will probably get less minutes with Rui picking up his time on the floor. I think this sort of game favors the Lakers, so we’ll see if Jamal Murray can break the defense and have another big night.

Chipmixer was known for fresh minted BTC in exchange for your BTC. But instead you got dirty BTC from past crimes.  Grin

My guess was first that Chipmixer is a honey pot of a big institution or country to spy on its users.

EDIT:

Next 24h are critical...  Roll Eyes

EDIT: At least we should reach page parity soon.

Seems like one wake up after a long, long nap. I dont know what about this guy because im not so old here, but interesting to see posting again after 6 months.

Why next 24 hrs are critical?

There is a wedge pattern that’s supposed to finish or something along those lines. I wouldn’t worry too much about it though. I can’t imagine any huge thing happening to the price over the weekend. Most of the big money is probably sitting poolside.

Chipmixer was indeed shut down for questionable behavior, but they did a lot of business on this site and invested a lot in advertising here so be conscious of that when mentioning them.

It would be pretty sweet if those were made out of silver. That would be an epic piece. Would make my 10oz silver coins look tiny in comparison. I wonder if they would be willing to do a custom silver version. Might have to reach out and get a price for shits and giggles. A gigantic silver minted seat replica would make me happy but I wouldn’t know how to keep this thing from tarnishing. Probably why they don’t use silver.
3079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 20, 2023, 07:22:08 PM
Went 1 for 2 hit the over but sucked it up with a Celtics ML loss.  Boston is in trouble no doubt.  For tonight's game I'm taking Denver money line.  Going to be tough to win in LA but I think this is where Denver starts to step on tueor throat.  Bold prediction: lebron 0-7 from 3 and LA losses by 3.

Good luck and enjoy the game!

With the Lakers down 0-2 and being the favorites to win tonight, I think you have to take Denver. Sure, the Lakers will give it their all tonight on their home floor so if they win a game this series it will likely be tonight, but winning by 6+ after getting beaten twice in a row seems like a tall order. As a gambler, you gotta go with the cards you’re dealt.
3080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 20, 2023, 12:11:32 PM
The Celtics and the Lakers have to be feeling the position they’re in. One more loss for either in the next two games is likely the end. Both teams get to play their next games at home, so we can’t write them off yet. Tonight is a must win for the Lakers or their season is pretty much done. I’m hoping they win, even if it just extends the series a little longer than 4 games.
