2101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why nicehash reward dropped so much? on: September 15, 2023, 12:52:08 AM
As others have stated, many changing parts in the NiceHash mining to BTC infrastructure can cause wildly fluctuating mining rewards. I’d recommend using their software and taking advantage of the automated algorithm switching tool to make sure that you’re always mining the most profitable coin possible.
2102  Other / Politics & Society / Re: U.S. threatens more sanctions on NK if the communist nation inks deal w/Russia on: September 15, 2023, 12:49:44 AM
This deal seems like a no-brainer for Russia and North Korea. Russia has a ton of ammunition and they’re using it. North Korea also stockpiles ammunition and could provide Russia with assistance to counter the supplies the West is sending Ukraine. Don’t get me wrong, I’d rather this didn’t happen but with Sleepy Joe Biden asleep at the wheel you can bet America will do the dumbest thing possible, like sanction their way out of having the world’s reserve currency.
2103  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gun-Free School Zones & Shootings Statistics (2023 Updated) on: September 15, 2023, 12:46:46 AM
School shootings, as are any kind of fatal shooting, a tragic event. Sadly it will never stop in a country where it’s so easy to be able to get hold of a gun. It’s part of American heritage, the right to bear arms so I don’t see the potential for school shootings going down any time soon. I think it’s been discussed before about an armed guard being in every school at all times but government make excuses about the cost being too high.

I personally believe that there is still time to tackle the problem of school massacres in USA before it further engraves itself onto the popular culture even more and into the history of the United States, this rates of attacks in schools are quite of a relatively new trend, after all.

The right to bear arms is decoded in the constitution, but that right is not supposed to be sacrificed in order to stop more tragic events. The first thing to do in to close the loopholes which allow criminals and the mentally sick to grab guns.

It is okey to bear arms but that right cannot be for everyone in age, without some restrictions according to their history, mental health and online behavior.

I think maybe a less obvious take on the gun problems we’re seeing in America is that people are fed up with the way that society is being governed. Kids aren’t going to sit around being indoctrinated without fighting back. This is a problem that’s going to get a whole lot worse and gun control isn’t the answer. Nobody shoots people because guns are available, they shoot people because they’re forced into shitty situations.

Denver? I think I can see the Lizzahd people hiding underneath the floor.

No vacation that includes Starbucks can be considered a HODL vacation though. Might as well have some avocado toast in that picture as well. Back when I was coining, we’d go on long walks for a vacation and drink only rainwater found accumulated in puddles.
2105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 15, 2023, 12:36:25 AM
There is no scenario where they keep all their good players and still get Giannis. Mathematically, their contracts wouldn't allow such a thing to happen. Warriors have 209 million dollars salary per year, that is by far first in the league, even with Celtics paying Jaylen Brown insane supermax, its still Warriors ball to conquer. The salary cap is at around 123 million, or so it was last year and I do not know how much it went up this year. It is still easy to say that they are way above that line, and paying a HUGE luxury tax as well. They do have Chris Paul now, no how they managed to make that happen, but it looks like they are paying a ton of money to him, and Wiggins as well. If they somehow trade those two, then maybe? They need to find space, and when you are over 80 millions above the salary cap, that's not easy.

Getting rid of Jordan Poole was a pretty big salary dump. Chris Paul also won’t be around too much longer and could probably be bought out for cheap if it was necessary anyway. I think they would be wise to get rid of Draymond and keep Wiggins, which might be possible since Draymond obviously wants to play with LeBron. Bottom line is that the Warriors would do whatever it takes to get Giannis if the opportunity presents itself.
2106  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to sell? on: September 14, 2023, 01:21:13 AM
Bitcoin is a life changing technology, so I would say that you probably shouldn’t sell it until you can get a life changing sun of money for your investment. There’s a chance that all you have to do is stack and wait. So rather than focus on a certain price, I would say to focus on what you would do with the money. Eliminate debt or secure your future and I’d say selling was worth it.
2107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 14, 2023, 01:18:53 AM
Looks like the cracks rare starting to form in New Orleans. Brandon Ingram has said that he has no plans to sign an extension this year and after the season will start evaluating his options. Basically, he’s not going to wait around to see how the Zion experiment goes. I don’t blame him since I think Zion wants out as well.
2108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 13, 2023, 10:08:24 PM
According to betting companies, the championship favorite of the 2023-24 season is Boston Celtics!
Maybe they can be this year, but it's hard to say for sure, because other teams are also favorites this year. One of my favorites is Phoenix Suns.

This year’s championship is definitely the Suns’ to lose. The only things that could stop them is injuries or lack of team chemistry. If they can stay healthy and get a full season in, I don’t see anyone stopping them.

Giannis today saying he’s going wherever the odds of him winning a championship are the best might as well have been a goodbye to Milwaukee.
2109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 13, 2023, 07:55:15 PM
Kevin Porter Jr.'s career in the NBA has got to be over. His alleged attack on his girlfriend who played in the WNBA, Kysre Gondrezic has left her with a broken neck. He’ll be lucky to avoid a lengthy prison sentence in my opinion, but even if he does I would hope that the NBA never pays him another penny after this incident.

Its a shame, KPJ looked really solid with other youngins on the rockets. Its gonna be bad for him since Houston will be needing him and on rebuilding phase but they still have Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun and of course that dawg Dillon Brooks whos been in super saiyan mode on FIBAWC .

And also Fred Vanvleet and Jeff Green is solid addition for the rockets since they will be also need Veteran presence. The Rockets will be doing good next season

With all the news coming out now about incidents with the team and throwing tantrums at clubs, destroying property, etc. It’s pretty shocking that they had him on the team in the first place. He doesn’t strike me as talented enough to be a major problem to his team like that. Pretty sure we will never see him play again.

That all silver 10 BTC Casascius coin is one of my all time favorites. A great collectible for sure. I’m tempted to bid on it so that I can have one I actually see. It’s been so long since I’ve seen mine in storage, at some point it’s like I don’t even really own it. These would be baller pieces to carry around with you in your pocket and you’d get to see them!
2111  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: September 13, 2023, 07:46:40 PM
According to users on X (twitter for those outside the know) if you place a call to Tesla to try and purchase a vehicle they will tell you that the Cybertruck deliveries to customers will start in a matter of days. That’s pretty huge news. It certainly seems like they’re happy with the production model they have and are ready to start selling these to consumers!
2112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much Bitcoin is needed to buy iPhone 15? on: September 13, 2023, 09:27:21 AM
It is a little bit crazy to think that you can get a new iPhone now for such a small amount of BTC. Surely Bitcoiners won’t be spending their BTC on this, but it’s nice to see how extreme the appreciation of BTC has been over the years. Comparing it to iPhones is a decent way to show the increase in valuation over time.
2113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Franklin Templeton files for a spot Bitcoin ETF on: September 13, 2023, 05:52:46 AM
The latest company to throw their hat in the ring. While I don’t think this alone is a huge story, the overall picture of many companies filing applications for a spot ETF suddenly shows that maybe something has changed among regulators and the industry has caught wind that they’re ready to mass approve Bitcoin spot ETFs.
2114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 13, 2023, 04:47:35 AM
I keep seeing reports claiming that Blackrock is buying billions of dollars worth of Bitcoin right now. I actually hope that isn’t true because if they are and the market is still down this bad then I think that doesn’t show strong demand. With some luck they haven’t started buying yet, or the ETF approval might be a let down.
2115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 13, 2023, 04:45:17 AM
Draymond Green came out today and said that he doesn’t see why the Warriors can’t win another 2 championships. I think that may be a little optimistic. I thought when they had Wiseman that they had a chance to win another one but I don’t think an old CP3 is going to put them over the top. I think they need a big man who can shoot.
2116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the new Apple toys & Invest in Bitcoin, history always repeat itself. on: September 13, 2023, 12:47:06 AM
One of the last big purchases I made using Bitcoin was an iPad. I think I paid 1.25 BTC for it. Looking back, that wasn’t my best purchase and I don’t even use it anymore. So I can attest that if you have some BTC, it isn’t always the best idea to dump it for a new shiny thing, although I’m about to make the same mistake with a Tesla.
2117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 13, 2023, 12:45:15 AM
You can't exactly ban resting, they will just list those players as injured and since the doctors are the team doctors there isn't really anything you can do about it neither. Yeah yeah I know they will definitely "do something about that too" which they say every year, but first fix the free throws and lack of defense. We complain about all-star games becoming no defense games, people just show their shooting range and all, but regular season games are not getting any better, all those amazing defenders back in the day would foul out in the first minute of the game today. Every year they they will be more careful with the fouls, and every year they give 100 fouls a game. I don't believe a thing NBA says.

You know as they say, the NBA has become too soft nowadays. The highlights of the game are mostly from the three-point area or long-range shooting. No one defends the inside as hard as the 90s, nor is there anyone even brave enough to play like that because of the current rules governing the game. I know that they are actively going against players that are 'flopping,' but I don't think it's enough of a change to bring back at least a semblance of basketball wherein defenders are actually trying to prevent the enemy team to shoot.

They might as well call this rule the Kawhi rule. I also found it interesting that they had to come up with a definition for a star player, which they defined as having made an all star team the last three years. I imagine this leaves out quite a few bigtime players, but it’s a step in the right direction. The regular season needs more people caring about it.
2118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: September 13, 2023, 12:43:10 AM
Ngannou doesn't do trashtalk. It could be because of language but he doesn't do that either even to his MMA fights. Him noticing the belly could be interpreted differently but seems more like a joke.

But looking at it from a boxer's perspective, Fury is becoming fat and that belly is a belly of an obese fat. And Fury also wants to fight Jon Jones. Yep, this is going to turn into a bigger circus. They discover how easy it is to make money with crossover fights like how the Pauls did it.

From watching Ngannou sparring I would say that Tyson Fury wins this fight easily. Sure, Fury isn’t in shape like Ngannou, but that’s nothing new for Fury. At least he’s a proven boxer. After seeing Ngannou box in practice I am pretty sure this is just another money grab gimmick fight. Not worth watching in my opinion, but I’ll bet on Fury.
2119  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 13, 2023, 12:39:41 AM
The CEO for Binance US just resigned. This is not a good thing by any means. I assume that means that Binance US was doing some shady things with customer deposits. While the US branch of Binance is just a company licensing their name, I do believe that they intermingled funds at some point, which would be a no-no. Get your big boy pants on. The market is about to separate the believers from the speculators.
2120  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 12, 2023, 05:47:48 PM
Between FTX and mtgox there is going to be a lot of BTC flooding to the market in the coming months. That being said, the ETF approvals will unleash a tidal wave of capital onto crypto. While you could try and time this perfectly, I think the best strategy will be to buy often for the next few months. In another 7 months BTC is going to start getting hard to come by.
