321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police reportedly seize South Korea's largest crypto exchange Bithumb on: September 02, 2020, 02:52:23 PM
This crypto exchange has several scandals and I wonder what are the laws in South Korea that allow them to continue doing business despite a very careless and unprofessional attitude towards the security of their company and ultimately their clients. Only two things help here, a complete change in the management structure or the shutdown of the company - this looks like nothing but complete amateurism.

In June 2017 hackers stole user information from a Bithumb employee's personal computer.

In January 2018 Bithumb was raided by the government for alleged tax evasion. They were found not guilty but still had to pay nearly $28 million in back taxes.

In June 2018 about $32 million of cryptocurrency was stolen from Bithumb in a hack.

In January 2019 30 out of 340 total Bithumb employees were laid off in response to declining trading volume and profits in 2018.

On March 29, 2019, Bithumb said that it was hacked. It pointed its fingers at insiders. Nearly $20 million worth of EOS and Ripple tokens were estimated to have been stolen.

On April 11, 2019, Bithumb announced a net loss of KRW205.5 billion (US$180 million) in 2018, a sharp turnaround from the KRW427.2 billion profit in 2017, despite 2018's sales rising 17.5% to KRW391.7 million. The company blamed the loss on the sharp decline in the price of cryptocurrencies and reduced trading volume.

Now, I wonder why they raided by the police. I thought that bithumb is trusted ande safe haven cryptocurrency exchange but all of my expectation was removed by their performance. It just affect the momentum of every coins in the market. Now, that one of the largest crypto exchange was alleged to be fraud. They might lose some of their traders and I think it will really affect the current condition of market. If bithumb was found guilty, then all of traders in bithumb might hop to other exchange. I don`t know why does a catalyst always exist when the market is having a greenish days.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has bitcoin done for you? on: September 02, 2020, 02:45:00 PM
Bitcoin literally changed my life lol. First things first it has opened the borders for me to deal online with people from foreign countries as other online wallets were blocked in my country and also it's totally hustle free you don't get any errors or anything like that when sending/receiving the money.

Looks nice! Bitcoin is really a complement. It has an integration of learning and earning. Bitcoin or cryptocurrency give us some opportunity to explore the world of internet. It makes our lives more comfortable and easy. We transact in a fast phase to any person throughout the world as long as he is connected in internet. A lot of things that bitcoin made to me and I am really happy even until now that I am part of this community. I enjoy every lesson I have learned and use it to become productive in everyday life.
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some Influencers Are Not Helping on: September 02, 2020, 06:43:14 AM
I don't understand how people being a follower if someone from a very known personality says somethings.

"This project is good and profitable", "This project is promising" all have been glorified, but have we think that they are actually investing this or those projects? Not for sure, and probably because they are just being paid to attract people and to invest their project.

These called market manipulators are also the ones who never know about what they saying but just a scripted talk. They making money from it but not they think about how it affects the lives of the others and might give losses.
As long as they are earning with the projects they are promoting, they don`t care about it. However, there are also famous personality who are keeping their credibility and reputation. If they are promoting a scam or ponzi scheme, all of their fame may end. A lot of market manipulators that overwhelm buyers. They serves as a catalyst toward a project. And somehow, many people are still believing with them even we know that they paid to shill the project to their followers.
324  Economy / Economics / Re: The number of jobless people has crossed one million in US - worrying sign? on: September 01, 2020, 11:50:41 PM
The unemployment rate is a factor of economic stability. If there is a highly increased in unemployment rate of any country, there is also a low growth of production and services. It damages the whole economy when it comes in GDP. As an individual, we should be worry about it because it is not meant to say that we will not be affected even we are not living in USA. Imagine, a first world country has a problem with jobless people. What is more about those who are living in 3rd world countries which has a lot of jobless people even there is no pandemic? It might affect our living specially if we are looking for a job outside of our country.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't fall for this YFI / YFII Telegram scam! on: September 01, 2020, 10:11:18 PM
Thank you for sharing this stuff!

A lot of people will probably use this two coins to scam people. As we all know that yearn finance I and II are being hyped in the market. Yesterday, I was looking for the telegram group of  yfII because I want to ride on their hype in binance. However, I did not see it. I just ride on a hype and move out my funds right now. I don`t want to fall in scheme because Y series coin might lead to a rich quick scheme which made as instant poor also.

If mods will forgive every banned account here, banning would become useless. In short, we should pay for our consequence. It is also guide as a warn for every user that we have to abide to the rules imposed in this forum. Because regrets are always at the end. The forum is strongly prohibited plagiarism and spamming. It will give us a banned consequence for the entire life. If you want to work and share in this forum, try to make a new but I think it will lead to a ban evasion. It just a lesson for all of us that we should not play against the rule. Even we don`t want the condition for you OP still we can`t do about it anymore. Let see what moderators can do to your banned account sir.
328  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: which is a good option?? Trade or Hodl on: August 31, 2020, 11:31:38 PM
I always watch youtube tutorials even before and one youtuber have been said that it is upon your strategy. My set-up would become hassle to others and their set-up might not fit to me. Either you hold or trade, either you scalp or swing. It is useful when you earn. We should not argue it anymore because as long as we earn in our set-up then it is the best strategy that might fit to us as a trader.

But, in my own point of view. I am more in swing trades than a scalp. I always caught up the bottom fish but I do not trigger when the price move in 5%. I usually sell my position when it hits my 10% target or more. Swing trades fit to me specially that my internet was unstable for the current week.
329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Satoshi Stop bitcoin? on: August 31, 2020, 10:44:52 PM
To stop it "again"? Has he ever done that before?

No, he doesn't have the power to stop it. If anything, if he ever comes back, he might temporarily be able to strongly influence the market. Considering the immaturity of the markets, that's possible but wouldn't last too long though. Otherwise, it is pretty unstoppable. Why would you listen to a guy who disappeared for a decade and sell everything or suddenly stop using BTC because he says so? We already understand the system and we like it as it is.

Who knows?Even it is already an open-source and decentralized,  He programmed bitcoin and he can do anything of it. We just say that he has no control because we haven`t see it yet. But the bottomline of this is that, why he will ruin his own project? He should be happy right now that bitcoin was popular and worldwide been using as crypto payment. If he will stop bitcoin, his dream to have decentralized and anonymous transaction would lost. This is now the reason why he will not stop bitcoin.
330  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Think about when you invest in hyip website on: August 30, 2020, 11:20:22 PM
There are already a lot of explanation on how on how high yield investment programs and ponzie scheme works in this forum. People constantly warn others about the risks and scams associated with it (like the exact way you are warning!), but there are people who still fall it. They get greedy and without thinking twice they start investing in those programs and loses everything eventually! Again, there are people who "knows" that these are scams, but they still want to try their luck and see if they can escape with profit.
I might sound harsh, those people deserve to get scammed. At least they will learn a valuable lesson from it and warn others.
Greediness pushes the people to join in a ponzi scheme and high yield investment. Imagine the returns that it can bring to you when it will be hyped by the people. They want an easy money yet they fall to a scam. In my opinion, it is better to invest to a project that has potential but drives slowly than a project that is quick in returns but a bubble. We not be baited by returns in short run, remember investment is risky when you put it in hyip or ponzis.

Just a quick update for the bucks. They have decided to boycott the game against Orlando Magic to protest the police shooting of Jacob Blake, as said in the news. I don`t know if the game will be forfeited or they will just postponed it until the conflicts will arrange. Let us see what will happen next in the buck vs magic series. A lot of people are waiting their game, specially for bucks supporters.

337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whale Sold at $12,000 After 2 Years HODLing on: August 25, 2020, 11:36:24 PM
A Bitcoin whale, who accumulated 9,000 BTC in late 2018, has sold after 22 months and two capitulation phases.

A Bitcoin (BTC) whale — an individual investor who holds a large amount of BTC — took profit after two years. Data from Whalemap suggests the whale purchased nearly 9,000 BTC in the third quarter of 2018.

The whale held on to the BTC for nearly 22 months, through two major capitulation phases. Bitcoin dropped to sub-$4,000 level twice, first in January 2019 and second in March 2020. The investor waited through both periods, ultimately selling at around $12,000.

Who said that bitcoin is no longer profitable?  Smiley

He is really a whale. Imagine, he tripled his investment for just 2 years. However, he will regret when bitcoin reach its ath or break it. I think this bitcoin holder is a businessman which need to pull out his investment to get back his track with his other businesses. But who holds it is not a big deal, but how bitcoin made a person more successful. This is a slap for those people and speculators who said that bitcoin will devalue during the year 2018. He bought the FUD and he sold FOMO of other people.

339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: August 23, 2020, 11:33:20 PM

Tomorrow is the perfect chance for the Lakers to show everyone who is the best team in LA and who is hungrier for the championship.

Let us see how LA will wake their fans. In the first game, it is obviously that Lakers gave the win to Portland Trail Blazers since most of the spots and scores are not that good as how they played in elimination round. LA Lakers will surely win the championship in this season and King James will dominate the entire series. I am not an LA fans but I want to be a bandwagon when it comes to my bet. I always after the domination of the team. Good luck laker fans.
340  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Pay Could ‘Destroy the Financial System’ on: August 22, 2020, 11:30:58 PM
snip~

If there will be a lot of shops or merchants having crypto as part of their payment method, I don't think users will think of the volatility issue. If it is already in front of them, they will use it for convenience purposes. And owed to this pandemic, I am guessing a lot of merchants are thinking of adding crypto in their payment system to lessen contact from fiat money owed to this virus. But right now, I don't think crypto pay could destroy the financial system, it is too early to have such effect.
For effectiveness issues, I think payments using e-money are more effective because they are more common than cryptocurrencies. It only converts physical form to electronic, with the same nominal value. While we know cryptocurrency adaptation is not yet widespread and only some people are familiar with it. Of course, volatility is a problem that is quite disturbing for me if I have to use cryptocurrency as a means of payment, it depends on each perspective, because for me cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin, is more effective as an investment tool. except, payment using stablecoins, it looks like this can be a little considered Smiley
This is what majority been thinking if they should really be using up their coins on making up transactions if they can possibly do it via fiat without any hassle and problems.
E-payments had already existed for a long time now and been offered by most banks or institutions which i cant deny that most convenient way when it comes on transacting up thing.
Im not against with crypto but we should accept that it cant really replace fiat system anytime soon neither physical or online ones.So i dont really see the threat on where
its being tackled on here.It would rather be good to be an option.
We can order foods in online store already.
We can buy some products in online stores already.
We can pay bills using cryptocurrency wallet.
We can pay our loans through E-payment.

There is a convenient way that E-payment is giving to us already. We should accept the fact that we need it right now. Specially that there is a pandemic and only one thing we can do, that is to stay in our house. Therefore, I think there is still the possibility that crypto will replace the fiat system soon. As we all know that dollars is gradually decreasing its value. Anytime soon, it may cause an inflation.
