If you're having trouble connecting, try the "UDP Mode" option. We've been having sporadic connectivity problems, usually for just a few minutes at a time, which is making it hard for the ISP to figure out what's going on. They're working on it though.

Teppy

Yes, okay, to be clear, when I try in TCP mode I see the message "Connected.  Sending login request." and then nothing.   You're right that UDP mode does connect and I get to the login screen.   I guess this is just and FYI that the issues for TCP are still there.

Quickseller also has the account FunFunnyFan https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=519804 (which he used to sell a DT account last year and troll me a bit while he was at it).  Also, he seems to be behind the account newtons1 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=557356

Just for the list.
323  Economy / Reputation / Re: Douglus should remove cryptodevil from DT due to conflict of interest on: March 19, 2016, 07:44:09 PM
When QS was trolling me as ACCTSeller, Panthers52, Quickseller, FunFunnyFan (etc ?), dooglus noticed a little quirk which he does that sorta ends up being like a signature.  I don't think he realizes that not many people do this.  dooglus suggested we not reveal it in case it comes in handy in the future to identify his alts.

FWIW, that newton1 OP has the same quirk.
324  Economy / Gambling / Re: It finally happened to me! 2.4 BTC in profit @betcoin.tm xD on: March 19, 2016, 03:07:58 AM
I will continue with these strict rules, cash out every time I hit 1 BTC from those 0.5, and cool down if I hit zero.

Since I already won 3.5 BTC, even if I lose those 0.5 it wont be a big loss. When it happens I will recalculate my gambling bankroll, and see if I can try it again.

Sounds to me like you got the right idea.  Stick to it (for a while) and then retire.  Good luck to you man!

Anyone here following the "No Man's Sky" buzz?

I guess not, at least I have no idea what that is.  Any links or tips?

Yesterday I tried to sign into DT for the first time in a while, it never got past the load screen...
326  Economy / Gambling / Re: It finally happened to me! 2.4 BTC in profit @betcoin.tm xD on: March 17, 2016, 08:24:20 PM

You are right, that's why I'm withdrawing regularly, taking advantage of the lucky runs.
I played again for a while. Got nothing to bet with, and decided to try the roulette again, and got lucky one more time. I went from the 0.6 to 1 BTC xD
I requested to withdraw another 0.5 BTC, and will keep playing with the rest.

I will try to keep it mostly on bets, since I want to see if I can make decent wins on bets, and will go to the roulette from time to time.

Right, the important thing to remember is not, repeat, not to get into the mindset that you can recover from a large loss.  It's going to happen (it always does, eventually) where you buy in with, say, your half BTC and you get unlucky.  Since you're already way into the black, just accept that loss and come back another day.  If you chase that loss, most likely you'll end up in the red.  That's my advice and congrats on the big wins.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin in PHP language! on: March 17, 2016, 12:05:05 AM
Is there any Cryptocoin project entirely based on PHP or Javascript? Do you think it's possible? I'm thinking of something. I give up?

I'd certainly be surprised if there were since PHP is especially created for doing CGI and javascript is especially targeted at controlling a web browser.  I know, i know, that javascript especially is being used for more and more things.  If it turns out that there is such a coin, I'd certainly be interested to hear about it.  In any case, I'm pretty sure that 90% of the coins are just clones of bitcoin in terms of their core crypto so, that's all C++.
328  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC on: March 16, 2016, 11:44:38 PM
MyBets is saved local in your browser. So if you use mobile first and then computer, you can't see your mobile bets.

What you can do, is check on your mobile.
If not there, you should try again.

I think you can also type "bet:$BETNUM" into the chat to pull up the info for a particular bet.  GeertBerkers says she's got the bet numbers she's interested in.
329  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: March 16, 2016, 11:43:30 PM
actually, what is best signature campaign for junior member  Huh ?
Just look at the table and pick a signature campaign that is open and pays the most (as of right now YoBit). There is no "best" signature campaign and I'm getting tired of these questions... I mean, I provide a table with all the data you could possible need.

I know what you mean about the inane questions.  But fwiw, there ought to be a bit more to it than just what pays the most for a given level.  For example, a lot of people consider advertizing ponzi's to be an endorsement of them, so that's a principle which can apply more broadly.  Think about whether you really want to be seen with a particular advert.  Also, some campaigns have a generally poor reputation for being mismanaged, I tend to think of yobit as one one these, although I think that hilariousandco has a lot more to say about campaigns and their management than I do.
330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin ever goes mainstream on: March 16, 2016, 06:11:06 PM
I think there is time for everyone to join and jump on bitcoin as it will be slow and everyone would gain some chance to join before complete mainstream adoption.

Lol, one thing the block-size debate has shown us is that if everyone's going to join, it's probably a good thing that they wait at least a few more years for us to sort out how to get their transactions confirmed reasonably promptly.  Hehe.
331  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcoin Specie Project sponsored by the makers of New Liberty Dollar on: March 16, 2016, 06:09:41 PM
Having the 'wrong' value minted onto the coin is a historical note.  It shows the approximate value of the piece on the year it was minted.
Contrast with the 'real-time' value of the QR pricing.

Yes, I do see the contrast, and I do think the QR pricing is really cool.  Eventually I'm going to get me one of these, but apprantely that eventually is longer out than I suspected, ha.  I do think that if I had designed it I wouldn't have minted that "historical note".
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spanish League Prediction Thread (La Liga) on: March 16, 2016, 06:08:02 PM
Pick for the 18.3.16 will be from the game  Getafe v Eibar
The event can be found here:
https://vegascasino.io/sportsbook/pre-live/event/JD9giSnHqy9TptSq2?ref=tipster2

Match:  Getafe v Eibar
Betting option: Home No Bet: Draw (If Getafe win, the money returns)
Odd: 1.86
Stake:0.015 BTC (15mBTC)
Win:0.0279 mBTC (27.9mBTC)

Getafe didnt win in their last 9 games.
Eibar won only once in their last 9 games.
I see here balanced game with small advantage to the home team. Most probably a draw.

Nice tip, but I'm a little curious about the nobet thing if Getafe wins.  Normally if you lose a bet on a draw, you lose your money, right?  What am I missing here?

I really wish that the OP or some moderators would go ahead and lock this thread.  Anyone who still doesn't know if "martingale really works" after 95 pages of discussion is just not going to learn anything because a few more paid posters add their 2 satoshis.  This thread gets brought back from the dead twice a year and nothing new is ever actually added.

Yes, for people who have read this thread already there is almost nothing new everytime the thread is brought back. But we shouldn't forget about newcomers. I think almost everybody who start gambling comes to idea of martingale in one form or another. It happened to me too some time ago. I thought martingale was my invention.  Grin

So for the sake of newcomers I think this thread should not be locked ever....but that's just my opinion of course.

Locking it wouldn't stop them from reading it.  And it would prevent the actual interesting posts (which are somewhere in the first 20 or 30 pages iirc) from being even further buried under mountains of "it didn't work for me!" posts.  It also wouldn't stop people from just reading the wikipedia page on matingale, which actually has quite a bit of analysis.  Whatev, yobit.net posters will apparrantely be bumping this thread for as long as they can get away with it.

Is there some decent FAQ how to play it or some strategies??

There's a wiki:

http://www.dragons.tl/mediawiki-1.16.5/index.php/Main_Page

For anyone who play this game, is this legit and can get profit ? I mean i looking games that can pay in bitcoin like farmsatoshi. and we can invest on this game or not ?

You can profit, if you're a lucky gambler.

Don't except to get profit from this game(getting lucky in this game is super rare) lol. a week ago i deposited 500 mbtc and lost it all, i will never play dt again.

I think like any gambling, you shouldn't risk more than you're willing to lose.  In a contrary story, I've gotten a 500mBTC jackpot from the "weekly lotto" twice now.  So, it's a luck game, like you expect.
336  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: March 10, 2016, 09:14:55 PM
I wonder if you guys are just using different versions of the software.  Perhaps the filtering was added recently?

Make sure the expression is valid for a bitcoin address. You can search for [O0l] without ever finding a result.

That would actually be a good improvement for vanitygen, to do a validation step to ensure that what's being looked for actually could match a bitcoin address.  I haven't thought about the completeness of the problem but at the very least you could (as you point out) rule out any expressions which explicitly look for [O0I].  I don't think I have the code checked out at the moment or I'd consider submitting a pull request myself.

It does:

Quote
Invalid Character 'I' in prefix '1BIG'

I guess it depends on what you actually entered as neiter "small ell" not "big eye" are filtered for me. Are you using -r?

Code:
$ ./vanitygen -r '1BlG'
[154.22 Kkey/s][total 4432640]

./vanitygen -r 1BIG
[159.72 Kkey/s][total 2447104]

./vanitygen -r 1BiG
Pattern: 1BiG

I was playing about a month or two ago with SaltySpitoon, as we do from time to time. I bet 1.5 BTM on the Serene Garden Dig and it just took my money and didn't allow me to play. (And I know how to play that game, I am pretty positive it is a bug) I used the game master message system to report the bug but I haven't gotten a response yet.

I'm not upset or anything, I'm glad it was just 1.5 bitmil and not 1.5 bitCOIN haha. But I would like to make sure that this is noted, because it was a pretty major issue. I'm not sure if its happened to anyone else yet but I would appreciate having someone get back to me. My username in the game is Mush, but I don't play all that often.
Thanks!

Hey, Mushroomized,

I've accidentally bet on plants in DT and messaged Di and he actually gave me my money back.  For that reason, I suspect that he just didn't see your message or it fell off his radar before he saw you again.  I'm also pretty sure that if it had been 1.5 bitcoin you would have gotten a response.  The game can be pretty slow and weirdly unresponsive, but I don't think it's actually buggy, just cluncky.   That's been my experience anyway.

Also, I know what you're talking about with that "message a game master" menu item.  I've always just contacted Di in game with "/message Di [your message here]" in the chat box and he's eventually replied to me (as I said, even when I was actually at fault he's given me grace and refunds).

339  Other / Off-topic / Re: UNIX tools hash vs hashdeep on: March 05, 2016, 08:11:07 PM
Thanks DH.  I guess I didn't turn up that wikipedia article in my searching, all I was finding was the online versions of the man pages.  I did go ahead and try using md5deep on a directory, and it told me:

Code:
$ md5deep ~/public_html/
md5deep: /rc00/d05/vocab/public_html/: Is a directory

I suppose there's some other way to take advantage of that recursiveness.  In any case, I'm only actually hashing strings with these programs at the moment so effectively, I can expect the deep versions to be equivalent to the nondeeps.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
340  Other / Off-topic / UNIX tools hash vs hashdeep on: March 04, 2016, 07:03:12 PM
On Unices that I use, there's md5sum and md5deep and md5:

Code:
$ echo -n "foo" | md5
acbd18db4cc2f85cedef654fccc4a4d8
$ echo -n "foo" | md5sum
acbd18db4cc2f85cedef654fccc4a4d8  -
$ echo -n "foo" | md5deep
acbd18db4cc2f85cedef654fccc4a4d8

For sha, I see sha1sum and sha1deep, sha256sum and sha256deep, etc.

From what I can tell, there's no difference between the output of md5 and md5deep.  And the "sum" versions just adds a " -".  Can anyone let me know what's going on with these variants of these hashing tools?

Thanks in advance!
