321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bloomberg bitcoin domains keep value on: July 21, 2014, 11:25:54 AM
There has been no drop. $500, 600, 700, 800, 900 1000, etc. was abnormal exchange rates. The last stable exchange rate was between $45 and $125. There have been a price increase

Yeah exactly, I don't really get the 'drop in value' or 'comes back from the dead' or similar headlines. Bitcoin is still up almost 1000% from last year's value and yet media reports keep on ranting. At least the media coverage seems to get better now!

Ha well, I guess it's quite safe to assume they did really sell gen 3 at cost. At least large parts of it. That being said it remains to be seen whether the self and franchised mining is going to yield anything. I doubt there'll be many divs coming from gen 3. Sad thing.

It's no more safe for you to assume that than is it for me to assume that you molester children based on the evidence your posts have provided. People like you spreading total nonsense is what's really sad.

Jesus, what's wrong with you? Why would you attack him like that? We didn't even receive any response to the questions for friedcat. Gen 3 just didn't work out the way it should have. Friedcat doesn't even seem to answer people who are interested in hosting franchised equipment! Sell down and feel liberated again!
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who owns these addresses ? on: July 18, 2014, 12:16:42 AM
Just a heads up, while you might be able to find the thieves there is nothing blockchain can do (if this is who it's through) that can save your btc. I've opened a lot of tickets with them and basically the answer is "sorry". I'm sorry I can't be more of help, but at least the google adwords thing is down now.

I'm sorry for everyone losing their BTC, but this is the very nature of bitcoin: transactions are irreversible and whoever owns the private key to an address can decide what happens to the coins in it. This is something most proponents advertise feverishly and when something bad happens, everyone cries for help and regulation. These are the things that make me wonder or even doubt that bitcoin is ready for mass adoption...
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is how bitcoin will turn the world into better place I believe! on: July 18, 2014, 12:08:31 AM
I've got to say, your premise does actually sound more like the worst nightmare straight out of a textbook about the perils of deflation  Undecided
People should be at least somewhat encouraged to spend their money and not only hold on tight to it!

Do we have to submit the collect-form today or how long could we theoretically wait for this month? What timezone counts?

Anytime is fine, expect payment in ~48 hours though.

So, I was just rethinking this... technically this would mean I could still claim my payment on July 27th for the month of July, is that right?
I know that everyone wants their payment ASAP, but I'm merely talking about technicalities here... Smiley

No u would then need to wait for next payment. But its fine to claim on 17th in any time zone, its not fixed to specific one.

Okay, so e.g. people on the west coast or Hawaii are almost 1 day behind Australia. That means, claiming at noon UTC on the 18th is basically the cut-off date

I wonder if stunna would show us his profit from the start of PD 1 until now  Tongue

I highly doubt anyone would be willing to show their profit. but I think I would be correct in saying that hes doubled the amount of Bitcoin he owns.

Just had a good streak and won a fair bit of Bitcoin.

Could be. I guess a year gives you back about 30% of your bankroll in a casino here in bitcoinland. Or what do you guys  reckon?
328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 17, 2014, 11:45:49 AM
It's nice to see that in between the dumping the price still slightly goes up. It's just nowhere near enough. There is still some buying pressure. But how how much longer...these dumps just seem to go on and on.

Well, the support seems at least pretty strong. People do seem willing to buy. It's amazing, we may be at a deep valley where everybody would have liked to have bought their stash, if we look back in a year... Or maybe only a couple of months!!!

I would use MYBB if I were you it is also free and very simple to use. Also you can change themes etc.
MyBB is pretty good too, i had a forum with MyBB, there are lots of extensions for MyBB.

I wonder how the 'new forum' theymos is apparently working on will be like. I guess he ordered it custom tailored? It'll be interesting to see what features get culled from this forum and if everything's at least as safe and secure as it is with this forum. Please don't go downhill from here  Smiley
330  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which of the 6 new states would you move to if given a choice? on: July 17, 2014, 11:37:20 AM
Difficult, I've only been to 2 of those areas I guess. I don't like a climate that is too hot... Maybe Silicon Valley, if it incorporates San Francisco in this classification! It's an interesting city!
331  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: July 17, 2014, 11:33:58 AM
Okay you guys got me intrigued there, i will start with breaking bad tomorrow probably, we'll see.

Ha, awesome! Please let us know what you think! Try to get a good quality version and please don't distract yourself with your smartphone or anything Grin Give it about 4 episodes I guess, if you're not hooked by then you may move on. In the 2nd season I realized this may be the best thing on TV. It only went uphill from there Wink

I don't believe the over 70, no way!
I am almost 64...  Undecided

Explains a lot. I'm suddenly a little critical of you, it's less your fault your stuck in your belief-structure at age 64.

Keep in mind that people at a rather progressed age (no offense Smiley) have seen a lot and watched new fads fade as quickly as they appeared. Of course some of the new technologies that emerge eventually become successful, but there's no way of telling which ones are the successful ones before actually see the outcome!
333  Other / Off-topic / Re: Klee; split from Wall Observer BTC/USD topic on: July 17, 2014, 12:30:25 AM
I really can't believe this thread seemed to have completely died off!!! This such an unbelievable thing to happen to that poor guy! Also, it's extortion at its finest. I mean, he even had to cave in publicly! This is insane  Sad
334  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dealer Plates on: July 17, 2014, 12:27:24 AM
Ha, yeah maybe your country just doesn't want people to do that kind of job 'on the side' I mean, there are requirements concerning the insurance, you have to keep track of the people using the cars... This would be a perfect way to conduct shady things with those cars, so I totally understand why it needs to be regulated.
335  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just saw an overstock.com commercial on TV... on: July 17, 2014, 12:24:52 AM
Yeah this just seems a way to push the banks to accepting it because the large companies see know reason not to accept it and conduct their business.  I'm not sure how much revenue Bitcoin will bring Overstock right now but as time progresses I'd suspect there to be some serious growth in adoption of customers using BTC.

What would be wrong with that? But why do you think so, I just can't seem to see any causality or even correlation with that?
336  Other / Off-topic / Re: Distorted Google Earth 3d Imagery on: July 17, 2014, 12:23:06 AM
It's not normal because they used to be sharp and completely constructed.  And it's in many places all over the world, where they also used to look sharp and fully constructed.

You can't possibly say that looks normal, that's hilarious.

This is normal: http://postimg.org/image/suh27d20r/

Nah, I guess he's right. That picture is of a constructed, i.e. built in an editor, set of buildings. You can't possibly do that for every minor crappy place, so they scan and process those images automatically. And that technology has its limitations, yeah.

Where to buy the script ?
I will run it in my language, not in english.

As you can read at the bottom of every page, this forum is based on SMF (Simple Machines Forum).

Give a look at http://www.simplemachines.org/ for further information.

Ha, I doubt, it'll come with all those crazy additions theymos developed. Well, it is some rather stable forum software, although it reminds me of the early 2000s at times  Tongue
338  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 17, 2014, 12:18:30 AM
Age average is a bit higher than I expected.
It's rather bullish, means the majority have a job and colleagues to persuade to join btc Cheesy

I guess it also totally depends on the area of the forums you're in. This sub-forum is directed to people who work with stocks or Forex professionally or at least invest certain amounts of money. I'm completely convinced that the other areas of the forum feature a lot more younger people.
339  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best Cartoon Ever? on: July 17, 2014, 12:15:35 AM
Does anybody remember this one show, I used to watch it in Canada when I was very little. I BARELY remember it but I think it was called "monster by mistake"? I'm pretty sure I enjoyed it when I was little.

Holy moly, I just looked that up because I was sure I remember this one. Yeah, it had incredibly crappy animation and I really don't know if I ever watched it or just switched to another channel immediately.  Grin
340  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: July 17, 2014, 12:12:07 AM
The only series i've bothered to follow is the Walking Dead. Might start with Breaking Bad since everyone doesn't shut up about it.

I tried watching the first episode of breaking bad and stopped watching within 10 minutes such a bad start to the series. I haven't watched another episode or finished that one since.

Ha, well I guess this just isn't the right show for you. It has to start exactly that way. It's about how regular, boring life can take some unexpected turns and with the right - or rather wrong - decisions we gradually may end up in situations we could've never imagined. The series isn't just throwing you into the plot - you couldn't relate and wouldn't buy the premise. But rather, it is gradually fading you into it. Believe me, it's the best thing there is. They can't start all exciting, where would you go from there?
