321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to motivate Trump to use Bitcoin? on: May 13, 2016, 09:42:09 AM
I think Trump doesn't need to be motivated to use Bitcoin because he has already heard about it 100%. He probably has business advisors and analysts working for him so he must have consulted with Bitcoin experts on whether it's profitable to invest a lot of money  in crypto coins or not. As a savvy businessman Trump knows how to make even more money from his current wealth.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS basically ALIVE on: May 13, 2016, 09:32:22 AM
I agree that the Chinese are basically making a living off Bitcoin by mining but I disagree with the second statement that Bitcoin is an American invention. I think there is conclusive proof that showed Satoshi used UK English spelling of words on numerous occassions so unless it's a trick to throw off people from his/her real country of origin, Satoshi logically can't be from the USA. He/she may not even be a native speaker of English as well.
323  Economy / Economics / Re: General Panama Papers Discussion on: May 12, 2016, 11:55:57 AM
Hey guys I read some days ago an article about the British actress Emma Watson who starred in the Harry Potter movies accusing her of having an offshore company in Panama and her name was leaked as well in the Panama Papers. I think the celebrities are just trying to hide their money from the general public for privacy reasons and not necessarily for tax evasion but I may be wrong.
324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: May 12, 2016, 11:35:52 AM
Gambling to me is like a recreational sport where I bet small amounts of money and have fun watching sport events and any profit that I have made at the end of the day is a plus. I am not desperately trying to earn money gambling and I am not chasing the losses. I am not a profesional sports bettor so it doesn't matter if I am rich or poor I think I will continue to bet for fun.
325  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the effect of knowing Satoshi on bitcoin price? on: May 12, 2016, 11:23:37 AM
I don't think I even saw the Bitcoin price move when Craig Wright went public with his claim of being the real Satoshi Nakamoto. And I don't think it ever changed when the news broke that Craig had been  lying to us all that time so I think the price of Bitcoin wasn't affected by who Satoshi might be. To be honest I think the Bitcoin price did a slight jump when Valve announced their plan to accept Bitcoin on the Steam store.
326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Swiss City to Accept Bitcoin Payments for Government Services on: May 12, 2016, 11:08:46 AM
I admire the dedication of people of the Swiss city of Zug to promote Bitcoin as a legitimate payment method for settling utility bills but I wonder how they are going to pay with Bitcoin as it's not reported in the article. Are there going to be Bitcoin addresses posted on the offical website of the city or people will need to visit a payment terminal in an office or something? It would be cool to be able to pay from home though.
327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: May 12, 2016, 10:45:12 AM
Well you could move money overseas with either one of Western Union, PayPal and Bitcoin but wouldn't it make sense from a financial standpoint to choose the one with the lowest transaction fees so as to save yourself some cash? Western Union has offices in remote locations and in less developed countries buf if Bitcoin is available where I am sending the money to I would use Bitcoin in a heartbeat.
328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if Satoshi Returned ? on: May 12, 2016, 10:34:34 AM
A lot of people would ask him for a donation.

Pretty much this or he/she will be risking getting kidnapped because with a net worth so huge like these 1 million unspent coins there will be a very long queue of international criminals waiting to get hold of Satoshi Nakamoto. If I were Satoshi I would be scared to go outside and will be looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life. Or people would nag me for donations all day long. Imagine what a shitty life that would be if Satoshi decided to return.
329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Civil War on: May 12, 2016, 10:22:41 AM
As a person who has seen the movie I have to admit this picture is hilarious. I don't know who the guy is in the Black Widow outfit but it fits him perfectly  Grin I can recognize at least Gavin Andresen so I am rooting for team Iron Man Wink But in reality the Bitcoin community is going through hard times right now and the plot of Civil War is kinda eerily fitting.
330  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is not the currency of the people and likely never will be on: May 12, 2016, 10:13:20 AM
People are not spending any Bitcoins they have bought with fiat money because they are scared that the price of Bitcoin may rise and they will miss out on easy future profits. As long as Bitcoin remains so volatile as it is today no one would be willing to spend coins when fiat is available. Bitcoin at present is mostly used as a store of value. When the price of Bitcoin stabilizes it will become more popular as a digital currency and few people will invest in it like they are doing today.
331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much do you earn from referrals on gambling sites? on: May 11, 2016, 01:56:15 PM
I have tried promoting some Bitcoin sportsbooks affiliate links on social media websites and gambling forums but sadly haven't had much success with it. I suggest concealing the link through a url shortener as people tend to deliberately avoid using the posted referral links and go to register on the gambling websites themselves thus cutting the referrals out of the picture.
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin on webcam sites ? on: May 11, 2016, 01:05:52 PM
Bitcoin is a great way to be paid for cam girls because it's semi-anonymous and won't raise any red flags on their bank accounts plus all the profit they can get isn't taxable so they will get more money for their services. Also to the guy asking who pays for porn nowadays, well, some people want to book girls for private shows and request them to do special kinds of things you know. Something you won't get when watching a prerecorded show.
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not Craig Wright? Who did you expect? on: May 11, 2016, 12:53:44 PM
Satoshi Nakamoto is 100% the pseudonym of a group. Craig Wright tried to take all the credit to himself which was despicable but at least he admitted that there was a group of coders who had helped create Bitcoin. Personally I don't have any expectations as to who the real people behind Bitcoin may be. I strongly believe Satoshi is not a single individual now that there is evidence multiple people were involved. I can live without knowing their identities and they have the right to remain anonymous Wink
334  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who controls the Bitcoins? on: May 11, 2016, 12:38:03 PM
There is a difference between Bitcoin getting regulated by the government of a country and directly controlling and enforcing the way Bitcoin is developed. I think regulation of Bitcoin means it's recognized as a legitimate digital currency but the government officials can't meddle into the development of the core client. Bitcoin is by design a decentralized system so no one can exert control over it. Also there are multiple people involved in the development so no individual can make all the important decisions by himself/herself.
335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF the NSA wanted to take control over Bitcoin, how would they do it? on: May 11, 2016, 12:18:00 PM
I agree that if the price of Bitcoin gets huge at some point in the future the NSA or other agency may try to intervene and take control of the Bitcoin network in the name of the US government. But doesn't the strength of Bitcoin depend on its user base? So if people can see that someone is trying to disrupt the Bitcoin network everyone will pull out of the crypto and its value will plummet in hours. What is the US government going to do with a defunct crypto coin then?
336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do to get bitcoins? on: May 11, 2016, 11:30:41 AM
Bitcoin is past the point of being free money any more and as there is no free lunch people need to work hard for it just like in the real world. If you are a Bitcoin freelancer you will get paid according to what skills you have and how much time you decide to spend working on gigs. If you aren't skilled in anything then you will need to apply to tedious jobs with shitty pay and long hours required. I would suggest learning some trade like designing signatures or writing blog posts etc. and look in the Services section on the forum if you want to make some good coins.
337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, why do we need to use Bitcoin? on: May 11, 2016, 11:16:34 AM
I am using Bitcoin in addition to using fiat because Bitcoin is a better alternative in some cases. For example I prefer to invest in Bitcoin as I believe it can yield a higher profit long-term than the interest rate of my bank account. Also Bitcoin is a much cheaper way of sending money to friends and family abroad than Western Union or PayPal etc. I do not need to use Bitcoin because I can do the same things with fiat. I am using it because sometimes Bitcoin can be more efficient that's all.
338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is it to store your bitcoins on a mobile phone? on: May 11, 2016, 10:49:53 AM
It's not safe to store the bulk of your Bitcoins on a mobile device like your phone that is constantly connected to the Internet. And there is a chance that you may lose it somewhere or it could get stolen and if you have made a backup of your private keys or mnemonic words in the phone's memory or on the microsd card you are basically putting the key to your money in the hands of strangers. I would recommend printing out a paper wallet and use that as a cold storage for your main Bitcoin stash.
339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Banks Hates Bitcoin? on: May 11, 2016, 09:59:38 AM
The big banks don't like Bitcoin because it offers more benefits to end users than traditional checking bank accounts. That's one of the many reasons why some people are closing their bank accounts and flocking to Bitcoin instead. Also Bitcoin can be used as a savings account if you are brave enough to buy and hold coins for the long-term investment value and the interest rate will be much higher. That's why the Blockchain technology is sought-after by fiat financial institutions.
340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why arnt we seeing more bitcoin ATM popping up? on: May 11, 2016, 09:42:14 AM
The demand for Bitcoin ATM's is low probably due to the unreasonably high fees that operators of these machines tend to deliberately set up in order to price gouge their customers. I have seen Bitcoin ATM's only in the touristy areas in my country and in some of the bigger shopping malls. I don't see a reason to use them because I can get better rates and lower fees on the exchanges though. But I do admit that Bitcoin ATM's offer fast transactions when you need cash or coins urgently.
