321  Other / Off-topic / Re: Checking in on: November 05, 2012, 09:09:00 AM
Haven't been active on the forums for a few weeks - last I checked BFL had moved their shipping date from October-November.
I guess it's now December? Yet still no functioning prototype has been demonstrated...

I'll check back in a few weeks when everyone's complaining about BFL shifting their shipping date to January  Wink

Edit: Seriously though, there's honestly been nothing shown of any great substance yet for a product that was supposed to have shipped weeks ago? Why am I not surprised?
You must suffer from dementia, you posted several times every day, at least for the month october.
322  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: November 04, 2012, 07:55:29 PM
So... Is everyone content that you will not see your bfl hardware until 2013?
Haven't heard anyone of importance stating that, sofar.
323  Other / Off-topic / Re: ACTUAL Butterfly Labs PCB pics! on: November 04, 2012, 07:15:39 PM
Read the thread, they were.

Wasn't it decided that these pics, while exciting, were still not of a functional unit as they are waiting on the asic chips?
Yes, still not functional, cases/side skirts and asic chips are not delivered yet, boards not produced.

BFL's lifetime warranty won't help you here, I'm afraid. Plus I bet a broken asic or fpga miner would do well on ebay?
325  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's your Mhash/s? (Pissing contest here) on: November 02, 2012, 08:50:03 PM
860 MH/s

 Grin
Is that good for about 7 to 8 coins a month when you mine 24/7? Less or better?
326  Other / Off-topic / Re: Upgrading jalapeno to little sc preorder? on: November 01, 2012, 08:46:12 PM
I was assured my original order date would remain valid.  This is confirmed in my new order.
is this for sure for all upgrades?
TIA

Has anyone tried to upgrade a Jalapeno to an SC Single Upgrade? I emailed requesting that, but I think someone must have misunderstood me because they sent me an invoice to upgrade to a Little Single.
1 jalapeno to 1 Single SC, is not an option, Quote: "Due to popular demand we will amend our upgrade policy to allow you to upgrade 1-4 Jalapenos for a 30 GH/s Little Single and still keep your place in line."  etc.

Cool pic, now just add chips.

I'm pretty sure the Jalapeno will only have the one chip pictured...  Not sure how it will be cooled though...

They have said it will just be passively cooled.
If I remember right they said that the casing would be the heatsink.
328  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: October 29, 2012, 03:20:39 PM
Is the hurricane in US likely to add further delays ?
Who knows, just wait to see if it is added to the excuse list? Not likely, because the storm is eastcoast (amsterdam-new york flights cancelled) and Kansas is mid-us?

I thought about backing it for $200 to get the 64-core one, just for giggles, but there was no way they were going to hit the $3M stretch goal for that.
Same here, they could have had a lot more supporters if they could have done 64 core within a $1,500,000 budget. I wanted two at least.
330  Other / Off-topic / Re: Upgrading jalapeno to little sc preorder? on: October 28, 2012, 01:38:59 PM
I asked them via e-mail on how to do this but yet to receive a reply - so how to proceed?
When did you email them, was your ordernumber in that email? You can only update orders for more than 1 jalapeno into a little single btw.
331  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 2-3 weeks to go until the first unboxing of a BFL ASIC?? MAYBE? on: October 27, 2012, 02:41:53 PM
Would you mind if I hijack the thread back to the OT ("2-3 weeks to go until the first unboxing of a BFL ASIC?? MAYBE?")?

I have 3 major concerns regarding BFLs ASICs

1) Despite some promises that we will get an updated time schedule this week - no new information has been made available.

2) About 4 weeks ago BFL asked the community do chose a representative to go visit BFLs premises. Yochdog has been chosen - but still no word from BFL when to go.

3) BFL does not know for sure if their ASICs will work - or not. It's all based on simulation - there is STILL no prototype yet.

Question (yesterday): "Does BFL have a working (hashing) prototype ASIC miner?"
Josh: "No, we are waiting on our ASIC chips right now, ...".

This clown Frizz32 was banned from the BFL forums, for posting under different accounts with BFL prefix in the account names.
1) they were to busy removing all your spamming under different names on the BFL forum, so it's you that is to blame.
2) so they have to inform you about matters that not involve you?
3) have you cancelled your supposed order yet Frizz32 aka BFL_Lab_Rat aka BFL-Mitt aka BFL_Obama? Your order is as fake as your numerous accounts you use, here too, right?

You can be mad at Frizz23, but that is not really any of my concern. The points he is making are relevant. If there are no ASIC prototype chips yet, it will take a lot longer than 2-3 weeks to get a package from BFL.
Nor is your concern my concern, that is why I addressed Frizz32, and not you. The questions this turd brought up are asked dozens of times now, legitimate, but no longer from his mouth.
Plus that the post he made was almost 1 on 1 copied from the BFL forum user m0mchil. If that is another Frizz32 alias, I don't know.

I posted the letter from GOV what more facts do you want, the fact that your company asked it not to be "Made Public" makes it even worse.

Inaba You mad bro?
from the letter:
"Dear Ms Little,
I am writing in response to your letter of October 5, 2012 concerning Sonny Vleisides,"
etcetera.

The whole complaint was about one thing only, Sonny Vleisides, wasn't it?
You just tried to rake up the old shit that went on here for months, spreading fud, and a company asking to not make this fud public, is hiding something?

It looks to me that you are hiding something, by not giving details about what your complete complaint at the DA (or whatever it's called) in regards to BFL was. You got your whopping order cancelled, jeez, 1 jalapeno is a to scary investment risk, really?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=109349.msg1204701#msg1204701
This guy invested 180k and is totally calm.
I have read so much garbage in this thread, because of what?
Because a looser can't miss a lousy 163 dollar for 1 Jalapeno.
No direct answer, only ask you to read this and read that.

I am not wasting my time anymore on this shit.

+1

Read.... every question you have asked has been answered.
No, they've not. So once again: could you also post your complaint letter to give the full picture? Or a link to it if it's already floating around here somewhere?

edit: Is it common practice in the US (and thus legally sound) that correspondence, between in this case BFL and the DA (I assume) is sent through to the initial complainer?
335  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is butterfly labs mining with those ASICs at the moment? on: October 26, 2012, 01:41:26 AM
Read it and answer the question to the posts smart guy's "Are they mining with those ASIC?"
Answer is: no, they are not mining with those asics.

Could you also post your complaint letter to give the full picture?
336  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is butterfly labs mining with those ASICs at the moment? on: October 26, 2012, 01:21:42 AM
Could you also post your complaint letter to give the full picture? As in, I don't see your point.

A) I Believe BFL has been misleading customers, I do not believe they even had any sort of product when they offered pre-orders, They were just raising capital to build this dream machine.
B) BFL avoids answer questions in order to further there standing in the market. It may not be illegal but it is not very moral.
C) They provide smoke screens to please the masses when things start to stir up for them to continue sales. 1000 Coin bet, Trip to the factory, Things of that nature. Once again throwing smoke screens to avoid being looked at harder.

Like I said I do not doubt they will provide a product, but anyone who says they are not just a little disappointed thus far is not being honest with them self. You will get your product..... October.... Nov..... Dec....... You will get it when you get it do not question me.

My only concern is for the community, I can not stand to see company treat customers in such a manor. You would not stand for it from any other company why would you for this one?
A)I first read about Asics end of July, read expected performance was based on simulation and studies, decided to buy some through pre-order KNOWING  they had to be produced yet. Who did not know then, or today, wasn't paying attention.
B)Moral or not is subjective. No point there, at least, not for me. Spent 50x as much on a Mercedes pre-order, wasn't interested in their place in the market too.
C)Every info given other than the presentation/delivery of the actual product, is pearls for swine, for a lot here. Smokescreens, what other than the presentation/delivery would not be a smokescreen for you?
338  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Announcement] Butterfly Labs on: October 25, 2012, 01:50:19 PM
The word "assemble" can be misinterpreted. Soldering components to the PCB? Or putting the PCB (with all components already soldered) together with a cooler into a case? My guess is BFL's first batch will be soldered by the same place that did their FPGA boards, and BFL will put the boards together with coolers in cases in their own facility.
That's my impression too, but I think their end goal is to be able to do both, without any outside assembly at all.

The confirmation that the existing foundry would be used for the first wave of ASICs has forced me to delay upgrading the rest of my fpgas. The QC at that place is just sloppy - so chips that aren't flush.

I don't really think I'd want a rig that comes from there... hopefully they'll get fully in house before the second round... up the quality a bit.

But if you win the bfl signature contest (but you won't coz you still have not put the link to your profile here in your entry there) you'll have to put up with one, with lifetime warranty though.

Thanks all for your efforts and sharing them. Just bought an msi wind netbook for €60. I don't think I'm going to get a RPi up and running stable enough for mining, at least not at this moment.

Maybe just pm Nasser asking him to explain here what he meant when he said that in relation to the time when he did etc., coz this speculating leads to nothing.
