SOME peoples 4 VRM boards, I'm not convinced its a VRM quantity issue, I think its just some people had bad luck in their miner hardware problems.

My Jupiter had 0.91 on it when it arrived and I ran it on every version of the firmware with little to no change in heat or performance.

These are custom built systems, there were bound to be some production issues for some machines. I think in the early days it was luck of the draw and they have now got much better and ironed out many of the early production issues so that the devices coming off the line now are much less likely to have problems.

3203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 21, 2013, 08:14:34 PM
Any significance to the sticker numbers? All my Jupiter boards have a "1" and I've been running 525-550GH/s fairly consistently.

I don't think so, I have two #2 and two #3 in mine and its been solid at 555Ghs since I got it
3204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 21, 2013, 01:47:21 PM
its a pool difficulty setting.... settable in your pool options/account page ..maybe...if they allow it
although eligius says the min diff doesnt work yet...it does now, for the last 2 days... Tongue

ok I use slush...mainly cause i'm always reading about eligius being down or getting dos attacks or some such

not sure if true what I see

Searing

Slush does automatic diff you can't manually change it.
3205  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 4vrms boards and 8 vrms boards Jupiter on: October 21, 2013, 01:40:32 PM
Nothing that I can tell, mines got 4 and hashes at 555Ghs day in day out.

Some people think it makes a difference but I don't think it does.

Jupiter weighs exactly 10 kg.
Dimensions fit exactly or even too tight for hand baggage limits of ryanair if you bubble wrap it three times.
So be aware of your luggage limits... and ryanair...
and damn stockholmish prices for taxi (15 kms are 60 EUROS) ...
Bus from skavsta airport to city terminal will cost you 16 GBP.
It is faster to walk to knc office from terminal, took me 15 mins tops, 1.2 km walk with GPS navigator.

and damn bloody cold out there -1 to +4  Smiley
I appreciate London's weather after that =)
Was a nasty surprise! Shocked
And a huge mental and physical stress for entire day and night.
Almost certain that one or more fan covers will fall off or be loose, you must check insides before switching on your gadget!

LOL exact same experience. I put mine into cargo came out with three fans off. Smiley

I looked at your website - the cost of your single blade is a half a bitcoin less than the cost of an Avalon mini...only difference is roughly 5.7-6X the hashing power.
in stock and shipping now:

Wow - you're still profiting of the stupidity of people not realising they will NEVER make 1.95 BTC with that crap.
Amazing.

CGminer dev or not...if you're stuck on mining btc only you yourself are acting like a dinosaur.

You need a comma in there somewhere because that sentence has two meanings.

1. CGminer dev or not...if you're stuck on mining btc, only you yourself are acting like a dinosaur. (talking about mining btc in general)
2. CGminer dev or not...if you're stuck on mining btc only, you yourself are acting like a dinosaur. (talking about mining btc as opposed to mining something else)

I think from frankenmints POV any personal mining is worthless, we should just be buying and selling BTC or using cloud mining
3208  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnC news on: October 19, 2013, 11:04:30 PM
People need to be aware of the major dissatisfaction of KNC customers about the way things have been handled for the past 2 weeks and how KNC have responded (or rather, in many cases, not responded).
Thanks

3209  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnCMiner Jupiter Miner First Impressions on: October 19, 2013, 10:51:44 PM
My Jupiter is showing 555GHs and the pool is showing 554GHs so I'm pretty happy that what cgminer is showing is what is actually being output. I'm sure there is room for improvement but with 0.96 everything seems ok.
3210  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 19, 2013, 10:38:56 PM
Higher cost and lower quality? Doubtful. While Seasonic makes excellent power supplies, there are many other companies that do the same.
Even if Seasonic itself was exclusive, you could just go buy these and call it a day.

You do realise that the XFX PSU you linked to is actually a rebadged Seasonic X-Series KM3 unit? In fact most of the high end (up to 1000W) Gold and platinum PSU's from various companies are made for those companies by Seasonic including the latest models within Corsair’s AX series.

3211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 18, 2013, 04:21:54 PM
Cooler Master stand true to their name, their cooling products are awesome, their cabinets are also great. But their PSU's are crap (90%). I've rather bet on Seasonic/Antec/Corsair. They are the most trusted names in psus, at least when it comes to powering up computers. There is a tiered listing of psus somewhere in bookmarks, if I find it, I'll post it.

The V1000 is made by Seasonic its the new KM3 platform

Check out the johnnyguru review. http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story4&reid=344

Just a bad one from the batch, will RMA it tommorow.

3212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 18, 2013, 09:44:51 AM
In other news, my brand new Coolermaster V1000 PSU that was powering my Jupiter just died.

I nearly had a heart attack, output went down to zero and I pulled everything apart thinking I had a blown VRM or something.. then realised the PSU wouldn't start even when it wasn't connected to the Jupiter, so swapped it for a 1500W Silverstone I had on one of my folding rigs thats down for maintenance and the Jupiter is back up and mining fine.

But the Coolermaster PSU is pining for the fjords, so RMA on that sucker. Sad
3213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 18, 2013, 09:35:22 AM
As this is a bit of a fuck-up and no one has mentioned it here yet, I'm going to xpost it:
http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/hardware/8377-it-should-be-removed-before-the-cooler-is-installed-this-is-a-instalation-quality-check-failure

Hopefully it was a limited incident, but worth adding to your "before powering up for the first time" checklist.
LOL that's crap

Bound to happen to a few machines, I've seen that on HP and Dell servers that we've recieved before. Heck I've even done it on a cpu waterblock before Shocked

But good catch for anyone who has one or more ASIC's that are much hotter than the rest.
3214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 17, 2013, 01:50:35 PM
No, I want an update on what the F is going on in Sweden. I want my order - yesterday. And I want an apology from you for all the propaganda you spread and the baseless shit you've said about me. Did you answer my post yesterday that challenged that "1000 units left" comment you made on the 9th? Because that's a real BS figure now. No, you never do. Now go be a good boy and tell KNC to update their LOYAL and extremely tired and stressed customers like they promised, least they break another promise.

LOL asking for an apology is great, what are you going to do if he doesn't give you one? Beat him to death with your keyboard?
3215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 17, 2013, 11:37:09 AM
Got my Jupiter up and running last night.

Came with 0.91, had to flash it to 0.95

My ambients are high, think the ambient where it is located is about 30°C because of the other equipment there.

Still let it connect to Slush's last night and Gh/s slowly grew and since this morning has been sitting at 548-550Gh/s

Temps are:
ASIC slot #1: 65.5 ℃
ASIC slot #2: -
ASIC slot #3: 67.5 ℃
ASIC slot #4: 72.0 ℃
ASIC slot #5: 63.5 ℃
ASIC slot #6: -

All I have done is (put back the fans that fell off in transit) add a 200mm fan on the back with cable ties to help exhaust.

I have a desk fan on rotate across my server farm, inc, the Jupiter is getting some airflow, plus I have a second big deskfan blowing air out towards the window.

Waiting for winter Smiley

Could anyone with a KNC miner do me a favour and ssh into your Miner and post the results for TOP.

So ssh into miner type top (Ctrl +  to exit) and post your results. Troubleshooting mine at the moment so need to compare.

Thanks

Dave

GMTA Smiley mine was around 15% mem 5% cpu on cgminer
3217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 17, 2013, 01:16:26 AM
Sadly I fall into that category Joeventura brought up:

I did get an emailed note from Emilia earlier as posted in the thread and true indeed I see my order status changed to shipped.   However I received no tracking email from neither DHL nor UPS.

Does anyone know/can confirm  do I need to flash to the latest FW once I recive my unit or will it be flashed to .95 already at this point?

The one I got today had 0.91 so needed to be flashed
3218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 16, 2013, 03:52:33 PM
My day2 went to shipped yesterday and I picked it up from the office today. There are loads of people coming and picking stuff up. One guy came with his van and picked 6 Jupiter's up in one go.

Got to meet Orama and Sam and some of the other guys. They were rushing around like worker bees but still took the time to chat for a few minutes.

I don't comment much just watch the fireworks in here but it is funny hearing how people have an inflated opinion of their impact on what it's going on.

I can see there are a few frustrated customers, but they have shipped near 1500 miners so there are a hell of a lot of happy customers that no one is hearing from.

And a few probably non customers who are playing out the keyboard warriror syndrome to perfection. Smiley

"Peace"
3219  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC Countdown to shipping all units - 15th October on: October 15, 2013, 12:22:32 PM

36X Day 2 here just changed status to "Shipped" its a pickup so I guess they have to now ship it to their office where it can be picked up from as I imagine they don't want ppl having around the factory.
