3201  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CryptoKube Container Data Centers on: December 25, 2014, 12:58:38 PM
I like the concept and the implementation looks good, but at the same time who can afford to buy a container for $45,000? You could buy a new one few a few $k, screw a few racks in, pay an electrician to come fit it out, cut some holes out for big ass fans, ad some IP cameras etc etc...

I know you need to make money on these, but it *appears* the costs and sale price are years apart. Can you explain why that isn't the case and it just appears like that please?
3202  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN Products on: December 25, 2014, 12:56:03 PM
Is there a distributor here in the states?  While the price with coupons is decent, the shipping makes it a no sale. YMMV, but the shipping doesn't work for me on the S3+, C1 or the S4.

If Tech support is needed (not likely) they will actually help you...try getting support from bitmain -- they make it such a pain that you want to give up.

You mean like the 100s of Bitmain customers who get help every day? Ps, why was there so many blank lines after the end of your post?
3203  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 25, 2014, 12:48:41 PM
I dont want to send anything back , unless you think its broken

What does Zombie mean? does it mean its broken and cant be fixed? Is there anything I can do to ensure that it stays mining and not saying ZOMBIE ?

I have an antminer u3
7 port Powered USB HUB, with AC adapter
ZADIG 2.1.1
CGMINER 4.8.0

I actually also had this problem at the beginning. After removing the powered hub between the antminer and my Raspbian, it stopped displaying Zombie in the cgminer

That's a good idea. Going zombie on these is typically due to some form of interruption, the most common being power / USB power related.
3204  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: December 25, 2014, 11:28:57 AM
Obviously, I was looking for free shipping.

The shipping has to be paid by someone, somewhere. Free shipping was cancelled because it wasn't fair for those in cheaper shipping areas to have to subsidise those in more expensive areas.

Hi problem switched to antpool not as fast so I threw an s1 on ther with the two s3's problem I am confused to what link I should use ?

Solo Server:   solo.antpool.com:3333 solo.antpool.com:25   Using this one which is fine But I don't see any earnings yet. Diff here s 2.01k

P2P Server:    p2p.antpool.com:3333    p2p.antpool.com:25 this link The DIFF on my status page is 5000 to 9000 is there any command I can put on the Miner Config page that sets the DIFF level.

now I copied a clip from another site and I am really confused if it will work on antpool here it is...
Notice that after my bitcoin address in username, I've added /5000+512 to the end. Here's why.

The /5000 means "don't give me low difficulty shares". And in general, it's just you not being an moron. I have lots of 40-80GH miners show up, so I want to make sure they can get shares quicker. Putting the /5000 in means they will. It won't hurt you at all. You'll just get more of the higher difficulty shares you want anyway, increasing your chances of getting shares before a block is found.

The +512 is crucial. It means set my difficulty to 512. This means you'll communicate to the server less often, and get work in bigger chunks. That means you'll have less rejects, which means more bitcoin! The general rule of thumb is /1000 and +128 per 100GH of mining power. You can use anything for password. I picked "x".

solo is solo, you wont get paid unless your miner finds a block.. which wont happen.. so dont use it.

512 diff is ok for s3. i wouldnt go much higher because then you will get more stales..
stales are worse then rejects.

Solo is not solo mining, its pooled mining like normal. The stats are just a bit slow to show up for the first time.
3206  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 25, 2014, 11:18:10 AM
Seems like as long as the SD card is good, the C1 is a very reliable miner. I had some issues with mine on startup but wiping the SD card and uploading Dogie's original disk image got me up and running.

Anyone have better uptime yet?

I think my second unit would have had a higher one if I'd taken a screenshot, but I turned off its PSU to move it circuits Sad
3207  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S2 Setup [HD] on: December 25, 2014, 11:14:20 AM
Online is a new version of firmware - https://bitmaintech.com/files/download/initramfs.bin.SD-20141029.tar.gz

Someone used it?

I'm curious also.  I've tried to upload it, but get an error when I try to flash it.  Anyone else have issues with it?

When you download the file and send it directly to the S2, you're getting an error? Don't extract it or anything beforehand. Can you screenshot the error please?
3208  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S4 Setup [HD] on: December 25, 2014, 11:12:11 AM
thanks for the guide.

No problem
3209  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner New R-Box Setup [HD] on: December 25, 2014, 11:12:03 AM
Finally got my New R-Box running today – was trying the setup with a Raspberry PI B+ / and cgminer, but I couldn’t find a working disk image…Gave up and connected the New R-box to my laptop – works fine for now, ordered the older Raspberry PI…

Set the --rock freq to 350 and I am seeing gh/s anywhere from 120 to 159…The average is 132 gh/s  Grin…I hope i don’t burn the box out, but this was the setting recommended by  eyeboot.com…

Question – Are there any links out there on how to connect multiple R-Boxes?

What are you getting at the pool? There should be no difference with using multiple R-boxes, just put them on a powered hub and you're good to go.
3210  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S4 Setup [HD] on: December 24, 2014, 09:24:14 PM
My only problem is the noise, Has anyone else modded the firmware to adjust the speed of the fans???

Also is there anyway to add a power on & power off scheduler, The miner being so loud i'm only running it during the day

I wanna be able to set it up to run between 7am & 8pm everyday...

You may find running them at 100MHs quiets them down enough for you.  They are very power efficient at that speed (for their generation), and you might be able to forgo the whole timer thing.

If its just for noise and he doesn't have a terrible ambient then just the firmware mod should do the trick.
3211  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Re: [GUIDE] B's Moderated Biased & Opinionated Miner Sellers Trustworthiness Guide on: December 24, 2014, 09:18:01 PM
Why this was snipped out of my thread I have no idea.

Scam?

Seriously.

I am guessing the first post should be made in his thread.

No idea. Its one of the affiliated troll accounts anyway so I wouldn't mind it.

In the other thread there is a firmware mod to lower the fans, you'll have to search for it though.

I'm not sure a timer will work on the S4 as its quite picky about requiring a hard (PSU) restart once you drop a module or chip out.

Well, lets see what happens with this one. I have to say the formatting makes a change and the site is pretty filled out.

Hello:

I have a batch of S3+ I bought, all are running on 1300W power supplies, At first they worked, but now suddenly I can only get 228Gh/s out of them ( I see many post with the same issue), even when i reboot or try 1013 image. I am not too happy about this, what can I do? I guess I have beg you now to use a beta firmware? what to do to fix this. I just found out I missed days of mining because of these miners which are not stable.

Can I send these piece of crap defective S3+'s back and get a refund for S5? No, because you charged me out my butt for shipping so I can't return them to you...

Every other tab i get some HTML error message.

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed Location: http://192.168.1.118/cgi-bin/luci/xxx/admin/status/miner/ Line Number 348, Column 34:   Modify voltage and Save&Apply, then need to Power off and Restart -------------------------------------------------------------^

Can anyone tell me what to do with these half baked pieces of junk that dont work, and I tried all the images, still same crap. And dont give me any crap about it's my power supply, I am using G2 1300W.

Can you take a picture of how you have your power lines hooked up and your status page in the web interface?

This please.

How long does it take to see your first payment/reward?

Quite a while, some hours.
3217  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, Shipping on Jan 4th [Sales Open] on: December 24, 2014, 02:41:08 AM
there are cost savings to be made which would cover those overheads

What cost savings?
3218  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: The New Standard, 0.51J/G, Shipping on December 27th on: December 24, 2014, 02:09:42 AM
To argue that it takes longer to ship within the EU than it is from China to the EU is, in the light of day, as counter-intuitive as it is ignorant. All it takes is planning ahead.
It would take longer to ship from China to EU Reseller to Customer than from China direct to customer.
If you did not plan ahead, yes. But look at where we are at with the S5 right now. From what I glean from this thread, they have adequate capacity and have already commenced production. So if they shipped the batch destined for EU customers in bulk yesterday, they'd be at their re-seller by tomorow.

Now do you wish to argue it will take longer to ship within the EU on / before the 27th to the EU than it would be if they were shipped from China on / before the 27th ? It is a no brainer on all levels if you choose to look at it from the perspective that it deserves.

You can make up theoretical numbers all you want but it doesn't work out. Miners have to be sent via air which doesn't hold significant bulk discounts compared to a few units vs a pallet at a time. You've then got to pay EU to customer shipping again, AND more overheads, AND the lost mining revenue from the 2 day delay to get to the customer. If you really think its a good idea then you're more than free to open a UK shop and try and sell.
3219  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 24, 2014, 02:05:20 AM
I think I have it going..

Its showing all the stats running now, the 5 second ghs, 1m GH/s etc.

Now, on the antpool my workers are inactive... Do I have to wait any amount of time before they start showing as active?

Well it was working, then it said ZOMBIE now its showing failed to initialize

Which software are you running? You can find the latest versions here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=879732#post_section3

Antpool is quite slow to update.
3220  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 24, 2014, 12:47:09 AM
Ok, Im back. All hooked up..

Now how do I get this running?

Can you take me a screenshot please?
