3243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Equivalent Network Time on: August 10, 2021, 04:48:52 AM
The Equivalent Network Time (ENT) for Epoch 3 (since May 2020 till now) and Epoch 6 (circa May 2032) shows that miners will have to spend about 384 seconds to mine 1 BTC since May 2032, that is 8-fold spent-time than currently.

Consequently, Bitcoin will become more scarce, at least in eyes and perspective of Bitcoin miners.

Additionally, more Bitcoin will be lost. I expect the rate of lost Bitcoin will be slow down than in the past. Because the higher the BTC price is, the more carefulness people will take care of their Bitcoin and BTC wallets.

Currently, probably 4.2M BTC was lost [1]. The cut-off to estimate probable lost BTC here is 5-year+ unspent UTXOs.

By the way, let's look at the post in June 2010 from satoshi about lost Bitcoins.
Lost coins only make everyone else's coins worth slightly more.  Think of it as a donation to everyone.

The essential don't in this forum is plagiarism, many newbies often unaware of plagiarism until they already got banned and it's the end of their journey.
Plagiarism is treated very strict on the forum and when it is detected by anyone on the forum, reported to moderators and get handled, mostly the result would be permanent ban.

If a user who plagiarised does not have good net-contribution on the forum, there will be no second chance and permanent ban is irreversible.

3246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Covid-19 affect On Bitcoins on: August 09, 2021, 12:34:28 PM
What happen to Bitcoin if this pandemic did not solve?

I think Bitcoin will be spread along the way and the population of Bitcoins will be long and infinite an the value maybe down and decrease due that maybe Bitcoins can notice that more people use it in time of pandemic. But we're hoping that the value of Bitcoins are consistently.
You used conflicted words. Stable, volatile, consistently that make your first paragraph is unclear in its meaning.

Quote
Does every people in the world participate bitcoin during pandemic?

Not all people participate in bitcoin during pandemic but if we compare before and after pandemic I assure that during pandemic time Bitcoins is one of the source of income to some people in the world and I think 50% people will participate in bitcoin inorder to live and earn money even if pandemic.
The fact is Bitcoin goes to mainstream since 2020 and I am sure more people on Earth began to join bitcoin market since the last year. You are arbitrarily using 50% to make your statement more impressively. I don't believe the real figure is close to 50% and don't believe you read it somewhere else then mentioning it in your topic.

The pandemic makes people understand more about the traditional financial system and the intrinsic hyper inflational characteristics of fiat currencies. QEs give people more money and unofficially give them reasons to join cryptocurrency.

How the world compete with the pandemic; How long will it take to end the pandemic; How serious are pandemic effects on societies, financial systems after all. Many factors will raise awareness of people about Bitcoin inflationary supply and its scarcity. With or without pandemic, people will be more awared of such. Fortunately, the pandemic boosts the awareness much faster.

Two mandatory before posting: read and search. I invite you to two topics.  Cheesy

One minor recommendation. Your text size looks a bit large and I think you will make your topic looks better if you reduce text size smaller a little bit.

Do you know about Twiends.com, OP? You only need 100 followers that is not a big number and you can easily to get it.
3249  Other / Meta / Re: Banned Displaying signature. on: August 09, 2021, 09:43:29 AM
although if memory serves me correctly something similar happened when Yobit was running its last campaign--but it wasn't because of Yobit's scammy nature; it was because the participants were spamming the forum like crazy.  It was unbelievable how many garbage posts were cranked out during that brief period when Yobit had hundreds of signature campaign participants promoting them.
It is because of what you said but also because of Yobit approach to run their signature campaign on the forum.

They did not have announcement thread about their campaign, on the forum. They run its on their website and in the first round, they opened it from Full member rank and above. Additionally, it is a paid per post campaign.

After theymos solution to ban their signature and spam participants (who were reported) a few months, they came back and kept spamming the forum. Until the take over of yahoo62278 to manage that campaign.
3250  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to stay safe from scam cryptocurrency app. on: August 08, 2021, 03:04:12 PM
The fake applications on App Store are less than on Google Play but you must be careful with both.

If you want to download applications, you must download with links from official websites. The most terrible method is search with Google search, with either App Store or Google Play. Especially Google Play has many fake apps.

3251  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin the most Bullish crypto of the moment on: August 08, 2021, 01:50:41 PM
Bitcoin at the moment is in another bullish position while other altcoins, except a few, are in a downtrend mode this leads me to the conclusion that Bitcoin is the most Bullish crypto at the moment
Bitcoin is the leader of crypto market and altcoin seasons always are triggered by Bitcoin.

In bull market, altcoins will give you highest profit. Obviously, you can get it only if you choose good altcoins and hold them. Altcoins are easily to have 10x, 20x growth in bull market.

However, in the long run, Bitcoin is the safest asset for you to invest & the most profitable crypto asset for you as well.

Hello guys, lately i joined a signature bounty here in the forum and one of the rules was to provide a Bech32 address which is my first time hearing about it
Bech32 address is native Segwit. You can chech the Bech32 adoption with the page from Bitcoin Wiki: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Bech32_adoption

You can get it from Software wallets, Hardware wallets to Exchanges. Electrum is the SPV wallet that is very light and you don't have to assign too much space in your disk to use Electrum wallet.

* The wallet creation wizard no longer asks for a seed type, and
creates segwit wallets with bech32 addresses. Older seed types can
still be created with the command line.
3253  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic foundation of Bitcoin from the perspective of Denationalization of Mone on: August 08, 2021, 10:03:08 AM
Bitcoin won't replace fiat or CBDCs. Never.

It will go to mainstream, more. It will become more popular on Earth each four years because of its cyclical bullish seasons but it is not Fiat-killer or anything similar.

Keep your mind neutrally and look at Fiat currencies and CBDCs. CBDCs would be the future of government-based currencies and the younger population will more likely accept it. However, the elderly would still use fiat currencies in paper, polymer, etc.
3254  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to prevent security risks when playing blockchain? on: August 08, 2021, 09:42:50 AM
If 51% attacks can happen with altcoin networks, it can happen with Bitcoin network.

The Bitcoin network fortunately does not have any single attack of such so far, because in early years, when Bitcoin network is small, it is unpopular, so there was no attack. Nowadays, when the network is huge, the risk is lower significantly because the cost to run 51% attack on it is very expensive & somewhat unprofitable. The community nowadays with better technologies & tools are able to fastly response to such attacks.

Imagine if nowadays, Bitcoin network has small hashrate like 8 years ago, it would be attacked very easily. Fortunately, again, it is unrealistic.
3255  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how many whales are trading in the last 24 hours from analyzing the blockchain? on: August 08, 2021, 06:52:13 AM
Whales don't trade like tiny investors. They are hodlers so they do neither use all their Bitcoin to trade nor trade too regularly.

You can get some overview on whale distributions & on-chain activities with following resources. In the past 30 days, there are around 150k BTC was withdrawn from exchanges. [1]

They are for on-chain activities but you can not connect them to trading activities.

3256  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me differentiate this thought, teach a man how to fish or give him Bitcoin. on: August 07, 2021, 03:13:31 PM
The meme was emphasizing on giving a man Bitcoin and you'll fees him for centuries and it got me wondering about the popular quotes that says "Give a poor man fish and you feed him for a day, but teach him how to make money and you feed him for lifetime".
Time for Bitcoin faucets are over many years and now, people have to work to earn fiats or altcoins, then use them to buy Bitcoin.

There are airdrops, faucets with altcoins, so people can join them and sell those altcoins to get Bitcoin. Do you know ICP? They run airdrop years ago but requested fees to do KYC on airdrop receivers.

It was traded about $600 months ago so airdrop receivers have good income with ICP. If they sell ICP at top, they can have about 0.01 BTC that good enough.

I disagree that you have to give anyone Bitcoin to help. Additionally, many people are close-minded and they don't want to hear about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency.
3257  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullish News!!! on: August 07, 2021, 02:35:55 PM
As crypto investor, you should have your vision as long term. Such news can be real, fake to manipulate price of Bitcoin in short term. It is very common when positive news spread around on social media, price soars a lot. Days later, such news are confirmed as unreal or at least, it won't be implemented too soon.

Nevertheless, long term Bitcoin will be accepted more, integrated more into many ecosystem, from small companies to big corporations, being legal tender in small nations to big nations.
3258  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The one with the mirror behind on: August 07, 2021, 02:02:35 PM
The rule of not using public Wi-Fi should be a priority. Having got into your phone, that is, having hacked it through a public network, a fraudster will receive a lot of data about you, you risk losing more than just showing the screen of your mobile.
It is best to avoid using public Wi-Fi but if you use it, open your VPN.
I never store my Bitcoin, my personal details in my laptop and bring it around, connect it to the Internet especially public Wi-Fi. Important things, I store them at home, and barely connect it to the Internet.

Frankly,  I have a little fraction of Bitcoin in my laptop, but just minor amount, ready to use just in case.
3259  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal: to remove fully posts rather than "This user is currently ignored". on: August 07, 2021, 01:41:01 PM
This is a simple proposal. Sometimes, for more intense pleasure to read and participate here, we all end up "ignoring" some users  Embarrassed
As such rather than see this polluting line : This user is currently ignored. Why not simply shadow banned the ignore list?
I think it would be easier for reading and less tempting to un-ignore nefarious posters.
People can change and the line "This user is currently ignored" reminds you that member was ignored by you. If you remember that case, have time to glance at post history to find potential changes or want to bury the hatchet, the UnIgnore button works.

Many people don't change but some of them do. And if you are open-minded, want to refresh your Ignore list, it is helpful.

You won't have to go to your Profile and check your Ignore list in Ignore User options.
Code:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2863922;sa=ignprefs
Above is your Ignore list.
3260  Other / Meta / Re: Is there discrimination in the forum on: August 07, 2021, 01:20:52 PM
But this is not the point of the problem. The crux of the problem is that he mentioned in his reply:
If there was any doubt in my mind that the forum is being specifically targeted by Chinese handlers, this removes that doubt.

I would like to ask, is there such a statement or discrimination circulating in the forum?I’m not sure if there is a certain unspoken rule for a certain nation, a certain culture. Please let me know if so.

If yes, can you give some examples of racial discrimination or ethnic discrimination. If not, that would be great.
The forum does not have any rule about ethnic discrimination. The forum is opened for all and it is big enough to have some conflicts of interests, opinions inside.

You can agree or disagree with another and you could be right about that specific person. However, if you generalize it too much, you would be seriously wrong. There are good and bad people in same nation, same local area.

Control yourself, on what you write, what you want to read. If things are not your favorite, ignore them (members, topics, boards). Don't let such ones expose your eyes and let you unable to control your discussions. Then you will never fall into discrimination.
