Noobies: Don't invest in any altcoins before reading A LOT of info about them, their creator, the differences they have with bitcoin (if they just changed one value, like retarget time, it's more than likely a scamcoin), and future planned improvements See the altcoin forum, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0

Ah ah Is CG3 a new 51% attack? OP talking about the PWC 51% attack: In my opinion, this is a good thing. It is the law of natural selection in the digital crypto world. The strong traits "coins" survive, the weak ones die off. This is critical in evolution! Look for much more of this to happen.
This can't be a new altcoin anyway: Way too many alt coins coming out at the present. Good for miners I suppose, but I would think this is detrimental to cryptos on the whole. Too watered down imo.

1. pywallet does this with the '--dumpwithbalance' flag (takes ~2 min / 100 addresses, of course depending on your connection)
Which version of pywallet does this? I got mine from Github yesterday, and it does not have this option! All versions since long ago. It does have this option, I just checked. Please check with 'python pywallet.py --help' 2. why don't you just import the wallet.dat in another bitcoin-qt installation?
Because frankly, the mess with Bitcoin in Ubuntu is such (because of the differing libdb versions) that a different installation will crash on start up if I give it my wallet backup. I've tried. Ok I get it, I didn't read the 'backed-up wallet' part

Is there a way of extracting the private key from the wallet ? Im using the latest QT version i have tried a few methods here in total i have tried 1 million + passwords so far Would it be possible to load an old version of the QT wallet ? i think it has 16 characters + maybe 2-4 more if you have an old (unencrypted) version of the wallet, copy it several times, before you do anything you can use pywallet to extract all the keys. For the record, pywallet handles encrypted wallet for several months

This is a coin that has a 12yo as a "dev", who made fastcoin just to make money and can't code Or maybe the 12yo kids are the people who actually bought the fastcoins

Ban scrypt altcoins, they belong to litecointalk Only other coin worth talking about is litecoin, the rest are scams and ones that won't go anywhere.
Are you kidding? Namecoin is SHA256, it is the first altcoin, it is the only innovative one and yet you want to ban it?

Anyone else notice the block times you will get 2 in 2 minutes, then none for 30 minutes, its really annoying.

I thought BitCoin only generated in 50 coin increments, but I got 50.44 here.
I'm sure theymos learnt his lesson during these 3+ years Is the fee enough to always ensure the profitability of running a node, even when BitCoin generation stops being profitable?
BitCoin lol

Satoshi Nakamoto gave bitcoin as OPENSOURCE software.. /thread
So you see no problem that all scrypt coins go to litecointalk, right?

I'd take them at $20 each Beware they may contain viruses too
