3261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any tips on how to tell if a coin will flop or not? on: June 20, 2017, 05:49:30 AM
There are plenty of altcoins that would have made a huge profit if we invested into them when they first came out, however there are so many others that just fail. I know that this is just high risk <> reward, but is there any useful tips to make a decent guess as to if an altcoin is worth investing to when it is released?

invest in them after a while!
you don't need to invest before release (aka currently popular ICO investment) or in your case invest in early days. let them exist at least for a while and see their movement. if you noticed a strong support and a strong upward movement then invest and if like 100s of new project they were moving sideways or dropping like a stone because they were listed on an exchange and miners were dumping, then don't invest in them.

this way you are still making profit but are relatively safe. also you should make sure to think about planning on selling them immediately after buying. most people invest and then sit around and start wishing for profit. decide on a price to sell and make damn sure to sell.
3262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum on: June 20, 2017, 05:37:03 AM
i've been hearing a lot about something called Ethereum these days .
if you know any informations about Ethereum please comment it so i can know more about it .
and is it true that he threatens the existance of bitcoin ?

the short answer is no, it has no effect on bitcoin or its existence in long term. the big market may suck in some money from bitcoin market for a short time but it will all come back.

long answer is that etherum is a project that started some time ago by some people notably the developer called Vitalik Butt and its main purpose is to make them money. in this process they firsts secured themselves 72 million ETH tokens and then started the crowdfunding, advertising, bribing, paying news sites to publish false information, paying poloniex for pumps, ... and have been earning a lot of money.

it is also a platform that made creation of ICOs easy. and the only way to invest in these scams is to buy ETH tokens that is why its price went up!

now to address your second question.
ethereum is not even a currency to even want to start threatening bitcoin. it is a useless token belonging to a buggy crypto contract project. it has a lot of big problems, the one that is becoming obvious these days is its extremely high transaction fees. it also has a serious scaling issue, an expensive way for developers to start a new project on it and another DAO can easily happen and can lead to loss of a lot of money (it recently caused a Canadian exchange to lose 14 million dollar)
3263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: New Litecoin rally speculation on: June 19, 2017, 07:57:55 AM
Well whales like to suppress price while loading. This one probably didn't do this on time so now trying to buy some time. My predictions going even further but this won't happen overnight.  Also everything is under question mark, what will happen with BTC in the next period, and how this will influence LTC.

i added an edit, the big wall was reached multiple times as price was rising and the buy support kept hitting it and eating through it fast so now it is completely removed. i don't see any walls like that anymore ever since the 0.018BTC was broken.

After this accumulated face I expect a very high pump as most big buying are dumping Ethereum for litecoin since on Friday last week. The volume of traders has significantly increase as shown https://coinmarketcap.com. I am see litecoin price at $100 before the end of this year.

well i can say this rally has a lot of steam to it which is causing a pretty nice rise. and i agree that it seems like some money is coming in from other markets. lets hope LTC sees the real price that it deserves.
3264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / New Litecoin rally speculation on: June 19, 2017, 06:41:37 AM
you may have noticed that LTC has been on hibernation (which we later found out it was an accumulation phase) for some time after the SegWit rally. and now it is awake and rising up again.
- the volume has been high all this time during the low price aka accumulation phase
- the price was stable and never dropped below support lines, any dip was followed by a big buy in hence increasing the volume even further.
- and finally the rise has started again.

so what do we expect of this rally? is it the 0.05BTC rise

it seems to me that litecoin finally got its turn for the rise, after all the other altcoins either stopped getting pumped or dropped hard in their dumping phase.

although there is one thing i don't get!
the buy orderbook seems very healthy and strong and the path to rise is all clear except for one whale putting up a huge 120BTC sell wall and he keeps moving it upwards as the price rises!
so it obviously is a fake sell wall but i don't get why
here is the picture:
edit: this was completely removed as the price rise became faster...

3265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum a pump and dump? on: June 19, 2017, 06:08:30 AM
because smart contracts is the only thing that it offers and unlike bitcoin it is not really a unique thing to use, there are other platforms that does the same thing even better!!
and also the business world that you are talking about will never use ethereum, they only get in, watch and learn, then go implement their own thing to have extra security and don't worry about the 72 million ETH token premine thing...

Almost all altcoins can do what bitcoin does but better yet bitcoin is still on top. Why? Because it is the first cryptocurrency on the market. The same can be said of Ethereum, smart contracts can be done by other coins yes but Ethereum has first mover advantage. As for the premine it was never hidden from the public.

not at all.

first of all bitcoin is NOT the first cryptocurrency on the market. there have been a couple of others before bitcoin and some more just small projects not a full network before it. but bitcoin thrived among them and became big. so it pushed them aside and became number 1.

also bitcoin doesn't have a premine but eth and most of the altcoins do.
bitcoin have a good developing team that has been checking the code, improving and other things. but none of the altcoins can say the same. they fail to do simple things. ethereum is easily exploitable for example.
bitcoin has the most secure network which none of the altcoins have.
bitcoin has the most adoption among merchants which NONE of the altcoins have, the altcoins never leave exchanges and ethereum is never used in anything other than smart contracts which is a fancy word for ICO scams.
and a lot more ..

so you see the fact that you are not informed properly doesn't mean you are right. people didn't randomly choose bitcoin for investment or for store of value or for usage as a currency they chose it because it is the best thing among all the cryptocurrencies. but in the past couple of months because of problems the fees have gone up and all the altcoin pumpers are using this fact to milk the masses out of their money by fooling them into investing in all the altcoin craps.
3266  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Honest reply to a scaling question on: June 19, 2017, 05:58:48 AM
think other cryptos will develop a lot better, price wise and were thus considering further diversification.
any investment will have risks and rewards. if you think the rewards of an investment in other altcoins is high enough that it covers the risks of investing in them, then don't hesitate and do it. but the important part of it is to understand the risks first, not just going in blindly because you "think" bitcoin won't get an scaling and you "think" altcoins will go up if bitcoin drops.

Quote
What do you guys think? Will Bitcoin finally get a scaling solution? Is the 2mb+segwit really deployable in august or is that just a smoke screen?  Or another date in the near future?
i personally think there will be a lot of drama in August but nothing will happen. but i hope some middle ground is reached and we can finally move on, and it seems like a most possible outcome to me too. specially because of the SegWit 2mb thing.

Quote
I'd like to see bitcoin getting a scaling solution. Even trading is hard when i move a chunk from one exchange to another and it takes 10-12 hours.
if you have ever made a withdrawal from an exchange you would have known that all of them have increased their fees and their transactions rarely take any long time to confirm because they are all paying higher fees than 350 satoshi per byte. some even pay 400-500 s/b!
3267  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sold on: June 19, 2017, 05:52:59 AM
I sold about 10% of my stash. I'm not sure whether the bubble has burst or not, but I decided I'll take some profit (bought at sub $100).
it was a good decision and i have been doing the same all along. you sell some after a big rise and then transfer the profit out to your bank or something and then invest the principle back in again in a dip.

Quote
We might see $5000 or $10000 in the next few days, but I'm pretty sure the price will go down to $1500 (or even lower) at some point in the next few months or next year,
these two statements contradict each other! and both of them are wrong.

first the rise to $5000-$10000 in only a few days is simple impossible. bitcoin is not a small shitcoin with $100 volume to be pumped like that.

also about the drop down to $1500 i have to say you have to way of being sure about it. you are simply making a guess and saying you are sure. there is nothing indicating it may or may not happen. there are some possibilities but the chances of all of them are very low at this point. this may or may not change in the future. that is all we can say.
3268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Predict the date for the 'Flippening' - on: June 18, 2017, 06:36:47 AM
Whether or not you can 'buy goods' with ETH isn't so interesting.
then stop calling it a cryptocurrency and start calling it token.
also the whole topic becomes useless since you are comparing a token with no usage with a currency called bitcoin with lots of usages and merchants. and you think this token can replace bitcoin!!!
and lets not forget how expensive it is to make an ethereum transaction because how its fees have grown over the past 3 months!

Quote
Ethereum is a platform that will support many, many remarkable types of transactions
in other words ICOs which out of 100, 99 are scam and 1 is poorly designed project.

Quote
Technical advance cannot happen in the 'consensus' scheme.  For that reason, Ethereum has remarkable advance and Bitcoin is forever stuck precisely where it was 3 years ago.
in other words ethereum is centralized.
3269  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Litecoin on: June 18, 2017, 06:10:49 AM

I think ltc has been drowned for so long. For a month, do not leave 1 place for 0.011.
Currently there is a big price spurt. It has risen to 0.0154, equivalent to 38 usd. So maybe it's $ 70 in the coming time is not surprising. =))

it is the awakening of the chikun Cheesy
LTC, after the SegWit hype pump dropped down to 0.01BTC price range and has been keeping up there ever since. and as i said multiple times that was a very good sign. and we can now see that has led to another rise. and while everyone is so busy with the highly expensive and already in a bubble ethereum, all the other altcoins such as LTC and so many other small ones are rising like this and giving investors a lot of profit

We shall see if this growth persists

It would be a good sign (in fact, even a telling sign) if Litecoin continues to rise when Bitcoin goes down. One thing is rising along with the latter (even if faster than it), and it is a completely different one if Litecoin would rise despite Bitcoin going down. If this tendency comes to stay, that would essentially mean that Litecoin no longer blindly follows Bitcoin (as it has been most of the time) but now plows on its own, and people are likely moving their wealth from Bitcoin into Litecoin

well so far if i recall correctly this tendency was the opposite. meaning when bitcoin went up litecoin followed and when it dropped ltc also followed. this was the first time that bitcoin price drop initiated an LTC rise.
so it is hard to say if it going to stay or not because so far this was a one time thing and we can see bitcoin has already reversed direction and is now rising up again.

also it can be because of a couple of news about litecoin such as bitstam (which if i am not mistaken) added LTC market and posted a big supporting tweet for it.
3270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC: moon or doom? on: June 18, 2017, 05:58:56 AM
Relax, its pumping because of Bitstamp, not because it was below 30 for a long time, after bitstamp you going to see another stagnation until Lightning.
What is the reason for the current pump, can you just explain,i thought the network has being upgraded and it is now lightning network,so when do we see that transformation completed, but good to see the rally coming back to litecoin what ever may be the case,it is undervalued for a very long time.

there is no "transformation" or "network upgrade". litecoin is as it was before and the only change in the network was activation of SegWit which is now considered a very old news. and Lightning Network is not a network upgrade it is more like an additional feature which will be added on top of the current system and work on it.

the rise for litecoin is long overdue. it is a good altcoin compared to the rest of them, and it deserves the rise. and when you look at other altcoins which have gone up 6000% and look at tiny LTC's rise you can see why it is undervalued.
3271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in ETH or ETC? on: June 18, 2017, 05:45:34 AM
ETH already rose too much, and there will be sell pressure because of the ICO's, also if some of them get scammy people might panic and dump.
Since there are no ETC ICO's that I know about, I think ETC is most likely to not go down and maybe rise.

Of course long term(years) things may be different

Its true that ETH already rose a lot and possibly that is too much but for me the bigger question is what is the value of ETH and ETC based on? I think ETH has benefited from a lot of ICO's but I don't see anything that would have given ETC any value. This is why I think ETH may fall again yes but I think ETC is much more likely to do so and more than ETH.

that is exactly the difference between these two coins!

ETH price has gone up with ICOs and will get dumped with ICOs too, when they started to cash out their ICo money and sell ETH it will create a massive sell pressure on the market and crash the price.

ETC on the other hand has gone up without any of these. it is simply a pump and the dump already happened and now it is becoming more stable. we may however see ETC drop when ETH starts getting dumped but i don't think it will be as big.
3272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to use altcoin staking on: June 18, 2017, 05:36:53 AM
thanks for answers guys.
OP's question gave me a couple of ideas that i am currently researching. i need to do some calculations to see if things that i have in mind are going to be profitable enough based on the costs of VPS they need.
if i ended up doing it, i will make a topic here.
3273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum a pump and dump? on: June 17, 2017, 07:34:05 AM
the problem with ethereum and its price rise is that the community is using it! but they are using it in a wrong way. in the past few months that the price skyrocketed people have been rushing to exchanges to buy ETH tokens in order to participate in the countless ICOs that currently exist and there is no possible logical explanation for their actions since not all of them are even half good!

and the biggest problem that will show itself pretty soon is when all the developers start turning all those free ETH tokens they got from ICO crowdsale thing and crash the price hard! and when a drop happens it usually is followed by panic sells.
3274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to use altcoin staking on: June 17, 2017, 07:21:13 AM
i have some pos coins and i want to stake them pos wallet nearly delisted all of the coins and where are you guys keep your pos coins for staking,I have a laptop and keeping a laptop on 24/7 is not possible and can you guys recommends some online staking service that I can trust

Learn how to use a VPS server like Vultr. You can stake 24/7 there. Also, you are in complete control of your private keys.

which one of their options is needed for this purpose, i can see the cheapest one is $2.5 per month! offering 20GB SSD and 500 GB bandwidth! how can it be true and is this enough?
also i didn't find bitcoin payment, i beleive they only accept credit cards, if i am correct do you know any others that are good, cheap and accept bitcoin? thanks.

3276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fast & Safe? on: June 17, 2017, 06:53:48 AM
option 1:
choose one of the hardware wallets that are currently available, such as Trezor or Ledger. buy one, learn how to use it and transfer your funds to that. fast and safe.

option 2:
learn how to use bitaddress to generate a paper wallet. do that, print it and send your funds there.

p.s. if by cryptocurrencies you mean multiple altcoins not bitcoin, then i believe Trezor or possibly others support some other altcoins such as LTC too. also there is another project (which i don't know if it is good or not) which is similar to bitaddress and generates paper wallets for altcoins
here is the link: https://walletgenerator.net/ but i don't know if it is trusted like bitadress or not.
3277  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▂▃▅▆█ BITSLER █▆▅▃▂ 🎁 BURSTCOIN🎁Most Popular Dice & Roulette🎁FORUM 🎁 on: June 17, 2017, 06:33:09 AM
It's great to finally see Burst coin added to Bitsler to gamble with. I also noticed a lot of Burst coin rain once the coin was added and also saw a few people win some Awesome amount of Burst coins. As I hold a nice amount of Burst I'm hoping that by Bitsler adding Burst will help the price and also bring in new players to Bitsler which I believe it already has.

Its good to see another cryptocurrency for the website however I don't really see burst being used much except for the early adopters or maybe the devs of the coin.

Reason being is that its crazy volatile at the moment. It was like 100 Satoshis back in March, then spiked up to 1000 Satoshis and right now its sitting in the middle.

Pretty sure most people won't be selling their BTC for BURST just to gamble it here since the price can change very quickly.

True however since that price spike for Burst coin it has since settled down like you said in the middle and has been a steady price of around 450 to 650 sats so I don't believe it is all that volatile any more. In fact the same could be said about Doge coin as well which is doing very similar to Burst in price, a huge spike and then it's sitting in the middle. Then there is the fact that people can mine Burst cheaply from their free HDD space and then use them to gamble with instead of using BTC to buy Burst coins.

but DOGE has been around for ages and it is connected with the USD price, while BURST is a relatively new coin (compared to doge)
burst mining doesn't require any additional equipment ,neither it wears your hdd down significantly
there are numerous gambling sites that have doge listed as one of the currencies, while burst had one big site only until lrecently
now when Bitsler introduced it,it should add popularity to the coin and increase the price,at least be one of the positive factors
of course, none will be selling btc to convert them into burst to gamble Smiley doesn't make sense
but investing into burst could be a good idea,we saw random altcoins increase their value multiple times, burst could be one of them very soon

investing in an altcoin is a very different story. being added to bitsler, although it is helpful, but it doesn't indicate a good investment on its own. it is best if a proper research is done before investing.
in case of Burst i can see it had a nice rally in May and after the bubble burst it is staying above 550 satoshi pretty nicely with a good volume.
and as for random altcoin increasing their value it has already happened as i said back in May.
3278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is happening ? = all coins down by 20 to 35 % on: June 16, 2017, 07:55:30 AM
go back about 2 weeks in the altcoin board and look through the topics that were posted then. with the subject "altcions are in a bubble, be careful". and you'll see what the reason for all these drops are!

lol , it means = best buying opportunity , VERY cheap coins , i'm buying ETC and ETH

good luck. because to me it seems more like the start of the dump of these two. and also pretty soon all the ICO funds will be released to their owners and they won't hesitate to dump it specially since they are seeing the drop and wouldn't want to lose anything.

Thanks for your kind advice Smiley
I'm glad i didn't follow it , i bought ETC/BTC this morning and i  already made 1,000 $ profit , and still holding it Smiley

Of course for long term investment i will keep my capital in btc , but for short term trading : ETC/BTC is making me high daily profits

can you explain how?
here is what i see based on time of your post compared to times on the chart from bittrex, both of them are in my local time.
i'm just trying to understand how you bought ETC in the morning of 15th and made $1000 profit and price has been dropping all that particular day

also the biggest profit was 8.5% from June 13 the very bottom to June 14 the very top!
and to make 0.4347BTC profit you should have bought at that very bottom and sold at that very top. and have invested >5.11BTC
so your timing and prices don't match each other!

3279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can someone please explain how altcoin ratios work? They'r not aligned to price? on: June 16, 2017, 07:38:21 AM
where did you take 27% from? i can't seem to find any rise in ANT price in the past 24 hours.

24 hours ago from your topic's time stamp ANT was 0.00127BTC and 0.0093 ETH
now it is worth 0.0013BTC and 0.0094 ETH

there is no 27% rise! (maybe i am looking at it wrong, so please elaborate and if possible post a chart)
3280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will RSK be the savior for Bitcoin?? on: June 16, 2017, 07:02:24 AM
it is my understanding that RSK will work on top of bitcoin, it is like an additional service working with bitcoin blockchain. it is certainly helpful but it is not changing much about bitcoin itself.
i am not sure how the 100 tx/sec is going to work but it seems to be off-chain. so again nothing to do with bitcoin.

What is RSK? Please share additional info if possible. I do not think this would be possible, there have been attempts before.
Look what happens when u try to merge mine Ether and Decred, not many GPUs can sustain this for a long time. How would this work for BTC/LTC since there re different algos.

http://www.rsk.co/
i've seen d5000 give some god explanations about it. check his post history or just ask him.
