Grin

Quote from: "Bitcoin Millionäre - Satoshi's Erben packen aus" S. 9/10
Es sind somit maximal 2.100.000.000.000.000 Satoshi möglich.

Zum Vergleich: Die Geldmenge M3 der Eurozone beträgt ca. 10.000.000.000.000 Euro. Die US-Dollar-Geldmenge MZM beträgt ungefähr 11.000.000.000.000 Dollar. Zusammen also 2.100.000.000.000.000 Cents.

Ein Satoshi entspricht also ziemlich genau einem Cent. Ein Bitcoin ist demnach 100 Millionen Cent, bzw. 1 Million Euro/Dollar.

wait... what?
3329  Economy / Speculation / Re: $55 mio series a funding of bitcoin core, wtf ?? on: February 04, 2016, 11:38:35 AM
$55 mio pumped directly to some core devs. the very heart of bitcoin. is this good for the price of bitcoin?

I have been reading the article from coindesk about this $55 million investment, but I can't find anything about that the money is going to core devs....??

http://www.coindesk.com/blockstream-55-million-series-a/

The article says the money is going to Blockstream.

Quote
Blockstream has raised $55m in Series A funding to continue its work expanding the bitcoin code base for commercial use.

Blockstream was co-founded by the Bitcoin core developer Gregory Maxwell and Dr Adam Back who invented hashcash, which is the the proof-of-work system used in bitcoin. They want to fork Bitcoin to support their sidechains technology.

i understood core were the "no-hard-fork" guys...

price tells you it's neutral.

55 mio is a lot of lube. i think i like it. this is going towards bitcoin blockchain and not to private blockchains/altcoin. this is definitely not the "blockchain is good/bitcoin is bad" gospel we have been hearing a lot lately.

3333  Economy / Speculation / Re: 232 days before bitcoin block reward halving on: February 02, 2016, 01:04:56 PM
op for sure & some of the posters of this thread seem to not consider a very basic fact:

if you run a mid-size/big/giant mining farm you are running a company. companies have to stick to certain economic rules if they want to survive.

when a company invests it calculates the outcome of the investment. the bigger the investment, the longer is the timeframe to consider. companies try to not fuck up theses calculations, because if they do, money is burned, jobs are lost, careers get ruined, etc. when you run a company that does only one thing, bitcoin mining, then every big or little calculation about future revenue of investments in miners and energy will always include the halving.

the miners know it. do you really think there are some guys out there handling hardware worth millions and then one day in june 2016 they get into their office and notice that there are making only half the coins and go belly up? "sorry mr investor, this halving came out of nowhere!"

because everyone knows. because it is a feature.  Roll Eyes

I bought at 380 thinking it would only go up, and you know what? I hate being wrong ><

The common traders emotion, "Why does the price always go down after I buy and goes up right after I sell". Well we just need to wait for a little while for the price to push around the $390 mark again.

True, but I see only a lowering trend and it's bothering me a lot  Grin

Unless the blockchain issue gets resolved or some big news that will make everyone to jump back in there's not enough push for the price to recover.

Well if the blockchain issue isn't resolved, btc is dead no? (From what I understood)

when i went into bitcoin "larger scale" price was at $120,-  a few weeks later price went below $70,- at some point. you will get a glimpse of how that feels if price goes down to $275,- or so.  that was 2013. later that same year price went over $1000,-

so.... relax.  Smiley
3335  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you consider to be a long term investment. on: February 02, 2016, 10:50:14 AM
For bitcoin 3 months is very long.
For stocks 3 years is quite long. So it depends on the time.

3 months is nothing for a serious Bitcoin holder. For people who are chasing quick profits 3 months can be seen as very long. Even 1 month is long for them. I don't count these people as Bitcoin holders.

Heh, 90% of the time, a week is far too long for my trading account.  Cool
It's a different story for my cold storage, but those are essentially free so they will be in profit as long as someone is willing to pay any amount for them. As such, They can sit, basically forgotten about for a long ass time. Probably 5 digits somewhere. I haven't decided on my "Good enough" price yet

you hold a 5 digit btc stash being bearish? in what kind of area will the "good-enough" price be? $ 2k ? or much higher/lower? (if you mind telling)  Smiley

Likely a punctuation fail on my part... Cold storage isn't quite 5 digits yet.  Cheesy I meant a 5 digit price will be a good enough time but I haven't decided where between 10k and 99.9k

i took my pocket calculator and played around with figures concerning my cold storage and decided that i am with you on this one. somewhere in that range.

If Bitcoin goes down my dollars are worth more Bitcoins.

Either way i'm winning. Cool

i don´t get why no one seems to see the the beauty of your argument. you nailed it.  Smiley

Stole this from Masterluc's thread:

https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCCNY/M4BdmB6G-30m-ew-count-btcchina/

"Market at start of wave 3 of (3) of primary 3 of cycle III"

Translation: Strongest wave, of the strongest wave, of the strongest wave, of the strongest wave.

The Master left because the time for daytrading is over. This is it. This is what we've all been waiting for.
