3341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum be taking 1st place in 2020? on: March 06, 2020, 11:00:49 AM
Ethereum has been steadily on the rise for a good while now, and this first half of Q1 2020 has proven that they have brought that same energy into the new decade. They have started 2020 with a bang, more than doubling in value in just 2 months.

There are quite a few factors that have come into play to make this a winning year for Ethereum and here are just a few: https://thecoinshark.net/en/5-reasons-why-ethereum-is-winning-in-2020/amp/

What do you think we can expect to see for the rest of the year?

They are already 1st place among the altcoins but 1st place in the market I don't think so, not at this point in time, Bitcoin is having a great time this is their halving year I don't think any coin can beat Bitcoin on it's halving year, and besides Bitcoin dominance is something any coin including Ethereum to address.
3342  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you know when to sell on: March 06, 2020, 01:34:39 AM
I am a college student looking to make a buck every once in a while trading crypto (mainly BTC). My portfolio is $500 of my savings so nothing big really. This is like a pilot project where I get to learn what is what and see if I can trade. I am considering going full time during summers and hopefully after finishing college if summers will have spared me. The question I am constantly facing is, how do you know when you should (or have to) sell? When the price is rising, I don't want to sell because... greed ––tbh. But again when the price is dropping, I don't wanna sell either... sometimes the price might be lower than when I bought. In general, I am bullish that the price will eventually rise and I will make a killing, so no need to hurry. But again, I don't want to be a hodler; I want to be a trader. How do you guys know when to sell?
You must check your motivation first, there's always a temptation not to sell when the price is rising it's natural I have experienced this so many times in the past and still experiencing it, you must make a spreadsheet on when do you want to sell when it hit your sell preference and you must follow it, and after selling don't look back sometimes we regret after our expectation did not happen.
3343  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A good advise for the beginners. on: March 05, 2020, 03:51:24 PM
For all the beginners out there, Do not mind the profit that you may have in this forum, there is a right time for that thing, all you need to consider first in this platform is how are you going to learn something about cryptocurrency. An eagerness to gain knowledge is better than the enthusiasm of earning money, yes I understand if you really need money right now, but, nothing improvements to you if you prioritize it than gaining knowledge.

If you have so much knowledge in the cryptocurrency, then for sure you may use it for you to become a better person in the virtual world, cryptocurrency is being prominent all over the world, and for sure it will be so popular soon, so it will be easy for you to follow the emerging cryptocurrency if you have full knowledge about it. Our earnings here will come soonest, just be patient, all things will be worth it.

Well that's true but not all newbies are really newbies some of them are already making money from other niche and they just want to transfer their skill here, I have writers who are newbies but they write good content and they are making a lot from bounty campaign, some new members here are long time lurkers here and just want to share their story or knowledge.
3344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling a threat or fun? on: March 05, 2020, 03:21:01 PM
It simply is related to self-control. Those who have control over their greed and they know what amount of money actually they can spend on gambling are the ones who enjoy playing this game. Those who have sole objective of gambling to make money are the ones who often get addicted and frustrated.

To be honest, not all of them are being addicted to gambling.

I do also want to earn money from gambling, and again, to be honest, that is one of the purposes why I am gambling; all of us are dreaming of winning something from gambling. It really depends on the gambler himself since if he really is a responsible human being, he will never let himself be addicted to gambling, he knows when to stop and he knows that no matter what happens, gambling will never be a source of income and you are just having fun.

It's really is wishful thinking, thinking that you can make an income out of it and there lies the danger and become a threat when you keep on thinking that there is money to be made in gambling and the fun stop when you think that you can cheat the house and your win can extended if you play it right, which will prove wrong eventually.
3345  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Any recourse for this frozen account? on: March 05, 2020, 03:03:20 PM
Greetings.

I had a transaction halted on hitBTC and KYC requested today. The problem: I claimed to be from another country upon signup. Not smart, but they would not accept users from my area and I could not find anywhere else to sell these coins.

Does anyone have experience in similar cases? What would you do here to give best chance of recovering the funds?

Thank you

If you are caught that you are not from country they are serving you can just request to withdraw your funds, they will caught if you try to change your IP by using a VPN or using other people to login and trade, they can see your log and your residence unless you have a friend that is willing to do KYC for your part.
3346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you see Markets on Gambling Sites? on: March 05, 2020, 12:14:14 PM
They offer promotions, they offer certain things and they even had merchandise! (Well some of them has it)
As a Gambler How do you view these things? Is it worthy of a try? Or it's just a thing of the company to get more sales and money?
Yes why not it's free they are giving it to gambler to attract more players to use their platform more than their competitor, gambling sites are doing this from time to time specially those new gambling sites, I receive bonus and promotional bonus from time to time from gambling site where I have an account.
3347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still staking Bitconnect tokens.. on: March 05, 2020, 11:17:14 AM
Much to my surprise 2 years after Bitconnect shutdown, it's blockchain apparently has remained up and I've gained
50 BCC tokens in staking it on a server that I use as a multimedia SAN..

Anyone here been staking BCC?? Obviously I can't be the only one staking it because I'm getting rewards every
several days.. Any real use for it? Anyone trading them? It's a Proof of Stake blockchain.. Yeah it was used by probably
the biggest scammers dealing with crypto currencies, but it's still blockchain technology..

I figure someone would just rebrand it to something else useful and use it for whatever..

Just thought I'd ask since I pulled up the wallet and saw that I have 114 total BCC tokens..

-TR

I don't think it's worth re branding because they have a very bad reputation and the authorities might go after the new developers who will try to revive it, I've check it on Coinmarketcap and I don't see it anymore on Coinmarketcap and Coingecko, I think it should be forgotten and do not try to revive it.
3348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What coins or algo can I use with this graphic specs on: March 05, 2020, 06:26:39 AM
Hi I am new in mining and would like to ask what kind of coins or algo can I use on this kind of specs, there are a lot of coins worth mining now that halving is coming and would like to explore.

3349  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Staking vs Mining Cryptocurrencies on: March 05, 2020, 06:05:08 AM
Very good trick, yes, I have given reference. So I don't think my way of reference is wrong. But yes, your way is better, I will definitely use in future

You are already a member you should know better you are a bad example of ranking up and yet ignoring the rule, you should quote it, give your own observation and post the reference link, one quick look and people will thought you have created that thread your way of reference is wrong don't twist it.
3350  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What age would you recommend the forum to ? on: March 05, 2020, 05:25:35 AM
Cutting a long story short , I’ve been asked to do a short talk at my children’s school about Bitcoin. Their IT teacher is very progressive and gets the children involved in a lot of IT projects, like coding and cyber security and one of my kids mentioned Bitcoin and I’ve been asked to do a presentation.
It will be a 10-15 min very informal intro. into Bitcoin with the emphasis at the end to explore the Bitcoin world by themselves and I will recommend reading material and certain websites .
The age group will be 12-13 yr olds.
My query is whether to mention this forum?
Currently I’m thinking not to mention the forum , but if they find it , then so be it .
My thoughts are that the forum would be more suited to 16 + because of these factors
- scams
- trolling
- bad language
- gambling
I’m sure there are or have been many members under 16 and if possible I’d like a bit of feedback . TIA
This is placed in Beginners and Help , possibly Meta may have been better , but I really want some constructive replies please  Smiley

Anyone who knows how to open a computer and surf the internet can find everything here so even a 12 years old child can land in any websites, the best thing we can do is to guide them and if you are going to discuss Bitcoin, there's a big possibility that they will stumble Bitcointalk, because it's part of the industry.

3351  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you prefer to buy bitcoin or do bitcoin mining? on: March 05, 2020, 04:08:09 AM
I'm mining other coins and new coins but mining Bitcoin at this point of time is a waste of money because of the halving, in fact many miners are abandoning mining Bitcoin and now shifting new coins to mine, so I prefer buying it than mining it, and it's also the choice of the majority here.
3352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling or Casino gambling? on: March 04, 2020, 04:46:22 PM
With the kind of traffic that we had in our country I'll pick online gambling more than casino gambling, I only visited gambling casino once and they do offer drinks and foods and it's free here, but I want convenient, I can go on and off on online gambling with just a few clicks and I am anonymous knowing will know I'm gambling because it is done at home.
3353  Economy / Services / Re: ★☆★ Bitvest.io - Plinko Sig. Campaign ★☆★ (Member-Hero Accepted) (New2) on: March 04, 2020, 04:23:03 PM
Morning Hhampuz,

I would like to take a part in signature campaign.

User: TopTort777

Posts Start: 929

Little anniversary post.

It has been 1 year since I have joined Bitvest.io signature campaign. More than 2000 posts were made during that period, as well as 41 merit was obtained during that period. Also managed to climb from Tier D to Tier A. Never failed to meet the minimum post requirement for the campaign. Was warned only once to improve post quality. During that year survived bounty manager change and reward reduction.

 Wink

Congratulations that is such an achievement and you made the right decision to stick around, this is the , most stable signature campaign so far, in my case there are temptation to try other bounty but I don't want to regret later, pay is good and weekly and managed by a good manager what more can I ask more, looking forward to stay a year like you did.
3354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Age restriction in gambling on: March 04, 2020, 03:27:29 PM
And I thought that the legit age to gamble is when a guy has a job so he can spend his own money to gamble, but five years old, I don't see the logic and I don't see how any five years old can go to a gambling casino, there should be a parent to accompany, I consider this inapproriate for a parent to teach their children to gamble at that age.
3355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am fed up with scammers and newbies. on: March 04, 2020, 06:43:46 AM
Last week, I found an airdrop project in Telegram called Marco Protocol, the airdrop looked decent at the first stage, I earned 200 MAPC tokens and that was instant! But you only can withdraw from your MAP wallet when Airdrop program will end, that's good, I am okay with it. Their airdrop tweet got 8K retweet and 9K likes, so, you can understand how hype it had!
But yesterday, they announced they are going to sell Bitcoin at a 50% discount to celebrate the halving. Can you imagine? 1 Bitcoin price is 8600 USD, people can buy by 4300$! I believe This is absolutely scam but many newbies already have fallen for that! As they saw MAPC has huge support in twitter, and they listed on CMC too.

50% off announcement: https://t.me/MAP_POB_channel/87

That's an outrageous offer, it was not done before in the past, imagine selling Bitcoin at half the price, one rule apply here, if it's good to be true then something is wrong, telegram and airdrops are full of scammers you should first do a lot of research, and read reviews but be sure that it is real reviews.
3356  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why is it some newbies looks like have enough knowledge? on: March 03, 2020, 11:59:03 PM
Hi! I am curious about this why is it some of the newbies here looks like they have already a knowledge about cryptocurrency? Because when we say NEWBIES that is basically the first time to learn about crypto especially here in the forum. It is understood that they don't have enough knowledge about crypto. LIKE THIS ONE this user seems he have already a knowledge in crypto even if he has newbie, so probably they learn crypto before he created an account on bitcointalk? But where he learn about crypto i thought bitcointalk is the main source of knowledge about crypto? Or just maybe he created an other account.

You can learn Crypto here in Bitcoin without creating an account and just read what the topics all about and a legendary member or an old timer can also create a new account as a back up account because the forum has no restriction if you want to create an alternative account.I myself took me a year of roaming here before creating my own account.
3357  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be patient, be wise and be courteous. on: March 03, 2020, 05:09:45 PM

And the best thing we should do is be courteous, respect everyone in this forum not only those people who have a high-rank level but also the beginners. As a human, we all need respect.

Respect is not ask it is given, we cannot  respect people here who are trying to scam people, we can only respect those who deserves it, like those people who guide us and help us on how to grow in Cryptocurrency, that doesn't necessarily high ranked members there are new members that also contributed a lot.
3358  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 50 BCH Stolen by Stake.com on: March 03, 2020, 03:17:23 PM
OP should change the title because Stake have proven that the amount you've deposited did not land in their wallet, it's unfair to have that title and visible to all readers, they have addressed the issue and they are trying to help you out with your issues, which is not their fault anyway.
3359  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why KYC is extremely dangerous – and useless on: March 03, 2020, 10:43:37 AM

No KYC for altcoin / shitcoin bounties or altcoin / shitcoin airdrops where the owners are likely scammers or incompetent.
Until now many people especially those who are newbies in the Cryptocurrency, they do not even have second thought  doing KYC because they thought it's natural and nothing wrong on it.

Quote
No KYC for shitty exchanges where the owners are likely scammers or incompetent.
This is very important you should only pick the right exchange to do KYC there are so many scam exchange now.

Quote
No KYC for low amounts of money where it’s just not worth the risk (this probably includes everything that doesn’t make you rich)
Still wonder why people for as low as $20 are willing to sell their credentials.
3360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shit bounties are getting attention and hype! Stop doing these bounties! on: March 02, 2020, 06:11:38 PM
Ozcar project has a scam accusations by posting fake team, they are trying to save face by defending their project, in the first place they should not fake their team, it's a deception on their part and if you want millions from investors you will never fake any information about your project, it's a big no.
