By the looks of it, Ronaldo could get upset here as well, which I wouldn't really blame all on him considering the type of players he plays with, but the fact that he got here when they were leading the league and they may lose the league after he got here will definitely cause a lot of mockery.

That doesn't mean that he was the reason for it, but it will not stop people from mocking him of course, just the situation itself is sort of funny already and that is why I would guess that there will be a ton of memes and videos mocking him in the end this season if they can't win the title. They still have the chance, but they just need to fight much harder.
I believe this is the ""price a player will pay"".
For example, like me, many people around the world imagined that Cristiano Ronaldo would work "miracles" during the championship or that Al-Nassr would be an indestructible team. But that didn't happen, only 1 single player can't carry the team on his back, it RARELY happens
I was thinking the same way until I learned that Ronaldo was brought to assist the team and not to do the overall work.
In PSG,  Neyma,  Messi and mbappe were brought for the same purpose ( trophy win) but if things doesn't turn out that way it still never mean they have failed. I'm seeing that the expectations is too much on Ronaldo's side and it's not too good. But What people will say isn't a problem, cuz it will have nothing to do with Ronaldo's relationship with the club as people already know his capability.
Wow, I confess I didn't know that...
Well, I'm not a football expert, but I imagined that Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Al Nassr would be something related to marketing, and also because he's an excellent player (in my opinion, one of the best currently)... There was no doubt that C. Ronaldo could be a guide for the team's newcomers as this transaction was reported worldwide!

Well, to be honest I don't know, but I imagine that if Al Nassr wanted to assemble a team to be champion, they could have hired 2, 3 or 4 players who together could be superior to Cristiano Ronaldo, but I have no doubt that supposedly those 2, 3 or 4 players could never have the impact that C. Ronaldo had on Al Nassr including for Saudi Professional League football

I predict that in the future we will see world cups with even more participants and that these competitions will be held more often, probably every 2 years.  Grin
FIFA really knows how to get income and every tournament they hold instead of adding tournaments, increasing the number of participants will also be just as profitable and maybe what you think will also be implemented by FIFA because they are not satisfied with every money they get from this tournament, so carry it out every 2 years, but the question is whether 2 years will be enough for countries that have never hosted the World Cup to prepare the supporting infrastructure for holding it because there will definitely be more stadiums that must be provided due to the greater number of participants so only countries who have huge funds that are able to organize it or this will be a tournament held by several countries.

FIFA also needs to have enough as an organization and tournaments like the world cup can be good options for them also since they accepted multiple countries hosting the world cup and there will be more countries in the world cup in 2026, they aim to increase the community of the world cup. Increasing the community will give more income to FIFA and maybe that's the main reason for them to make these decisions for 2026.
looking fwd for the upcoming FIFA world cup. But this is a new experiment. Hope they will be able to manage well

I have no doubt that this World Cup will be a game changer.
First time that it will be hosted in 3 different countries and will also have a significant amount of participants...
Well... I have no doubts that it will be beneficial for the host country and also for the countries that never had the opportunity to participate in a world cup before.... well, I don't know, I hope that everything goes well with this new structure for this tournament event

But in the 2026 world cup, that is indeed something relevant, approximately 3 years will have passed, if he is not active (like today) and also out of shape, his chances of going to the 2026 world cup 2026 is almost 0..
yes I agree, he's an active player as an attacker and always runs and moves everywhere, he will get tired quickly and can not make a Portugal didn't effective yet if still let him play on 40 old years. Maybe will be different if let him play as a goalkeeper like Buffon, who in 45 years old and still exists an active player until now, because that position does not require a lot of movement on the field, only the Penalty zone area.

And I imagined that Buffon had already retired a short time ago, but I found that he is still active lol, and even so, he has a relevant performance on the field.
Comparing Cristiano Ronaldo and Buffon, I don't know if this is plausible, we can analyze some specific points between them as players and that's all.

Cristiano Ronaldo still has an excellent shape for his age, but if he doesn't take care of himself, stop practicing sports / physical activities or things similar like  that, possibly his performance will have a drastic drop in the future.

Look at the team of Brazil, Portugal or Argentina as an example (not in the 2022 cup), but all teams had the best players in the world and look back at the 2014 world cup, Germany beat Brazil and won the cup 2014, and your players? Some players from Germany were exceptional, but they had a team that fit together, had chemistry and were an excellent team.

I believe that what I said above can apply to Al-Nassr's team, not that this will happen in the Saudi championship, but I wanted to share it to say that no player can do miracles.
347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: March 24, 2023, 09:39:47 PM
Surely Ronaldo cannot play in the 2026 world cup, but he would play in the 2024 Euro tournament. Ronaldo has not distanced himself from the Portuguese national team, he was called up by their new manager Roberto Martinez, and he also started in their Euro qualifiers game tonight against Liechtenstein, and he has scored 2 goals in this game, and the match is yet to end, so i feel Ronaldo would be fit for the Euro tournament next year, and after that i expect him to retire, he can't play in 2026 world cup.
Well, talking about Euro 2024, i have no doubt that Cristiano Ronaldo will be able to compete in this competition...
He is still active and is also currently playing football. I believe that approximately 1 year is not a significant period and I believe its performance cannot drop drastically.

But in the 2026 world cup, that is indeed something relevant, approximately 3 years will have passed, if he is not active (like today) and also out of shape, his chances of going to the 2026 world cup 2026 is almost 0.

ps:In my opinion, I also agree, this will not happen.
348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 24, 2023, 09:30:33 PM
Damn it, Reggie Bullock hit that 3 in the last 1.7 seconds for the Dallas team to cut the lead to 2. Two days now that I'm losing with just .5 points, hehehe. Still good though, what a game between the two, and as we say there are breaks on the game and the Warriors got the better of it. Seems Kuminga is developing to be like Andrew Wiggins? what do you think? So 1/2 again for me.

I'm haven't check the games though tonight. Might edit this soon, congrats to the winners!!

Edit: Here's my pick.

Magic vs Knicks - Magic, live betting ML @2.10.
Cavs vs Nets - Cavs -3.5 @1.89
Clippers vs OKC - OKC 4.5 @1.96.

Nice hit on the Magic, and also, the Cavs made a comeback, but unfortunately, the spread was not covered. With a 1-3 record, maybe tomorrow will be a better day for betting. I'm sure you'll end up on the positive side. Let's enjoy the remainder of the regular season since it's going to end soon. Soon we will have the exciting play-in tournament to watch.

important games tomorrow.

Lakers vs OKC
Blazers vs Bulls.
76ers vs Warriors
charlotte vs Dallas
Raptors vs Pistons
Indiana vs Boston
Well, analyzing what you commented, I have no doubt, in fact these games will be competitive, mainly Lakers vs OKC, both need victories to be able to distance themselves and get the last seed of the playoffs... it's all very tight, LAL, OKC , Mavs and others looking for wins at the end of this regular season.

I seriously confess that the Celtics vs. Pacers game could be interesting to bet on, I believe that only if a miracle happens that Indiana can go to the playoffs.
But this victory could be interesting for the Celtics, because they will get even closer to the Bucks and try to get the 1st seed.
349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 24, 2023, 09:19:59 PM
They cannot go back to the past. What's important is that they were able to make the right adjustments to make the team better. So if they end up in the play-in, they can surely win without a problem if they are really good. What we are hoping for with the Lakers is to win another championship, but that will not happen without LeBron James, so it's important for him to come back in case they are successful in the play-in.
I totally agree with what you said.
Unfortunately the Lakers at the beginning and during the season, they had a poor performance, poor management of the team, injured players and other things.

But the good thing is, the Lakers "woke up" at the end of the regular season and are doing their best to get a playoff seed in this season.

Only LJ + AD can take the Lakers to a WCF or even the championship game
I even dare say that the Lakers could perform better compared to the regular season.

In the playoffs,  "children of men" are separated, I have no doubt that a player's experience is a very important factor, and I have no doubt that AD + LJ have this (mainly LJ)
350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 23, 2023, 10:50:15 PM
It's probably over for Lakers. If you look at the fixture you'll know they can't win most of these remaining games. In fact I'll be surprised if they get 4 wins in these 9 games. Only Rockets game look easy on paper. All other games are pretty hard or even for them. If Bron was back there could be some hope but in the current situation we can say that they have no chance.
For some reason, Lakers is talked about much more than other teams and the game they play in return is mediocre to say the least.

I think I might oppose that statement you gave because if the Lakers managed to defeat the Suns earlier, then I think they can probably manage to win most of the remaining games. It will be a tough challenge for sure but looking at the current roster now, they are much interesting to see especially now that AR15 is stepping up his game and contributing 30+ and 20+ point in their previous games. The way I see it, the Lakers got more chances now compared to previous roster that made them a weak team even if they are thriving so hard.
Well, carrying out a brief analysis of what was mentioned, I also believe that the Lakers have a little hope to get a seed in these playoffs, but for that to happen they need to be impeccable in the next games, as this will be something decisive for them. ..

OKC, Timberwolves, Mavs and Jazz, these are the other teams that are in a similar situation to the Lakers, that is, it will be extremely close competition for any team to get the last remaining seeds for these playoffs.

Guys, after reading your comments, I also imagine that the performance of Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi will decrease, that's a fact, it's the law of nature.
What we don't know is how much their performance will drop...
Yes I do believe that age is a very important factor for playing football. However, the idea that football cannot be played if you are old is wrong. The game depends a lot on one's skill, fitness and mental strength. Currently, Messi is 35 years old and Ronaldo is 38 years old. In 2026 World Cup, Messi will be 39 years old and Ronaldo will be 42 years old. If they can maintain their performances at the club level and if they work on their fitness then I don't think age will be a hindrance for them in the upcoming World Cup. And Cristiano Ronaldo is always worried about his fitness and he takes good care of himself. So we can expect Messi and Ronaldo to win the World Cup together again in the next World Cup.
An example of this...  LeBron James, he will be 39 years old at the end of this year, and incredible as it may seem, he is still considered one of the best players in the NBA. His athleticism and his genetics is something formidable, I have no doubt that LJ will still be able to play in the Olympics defending the USA (but i don't think that can happen)
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is 41 years old now but his fitness doesn't look like he is 41 now. At this age he got a call up to play for Sweden's national team. Age is just a number. Age does not affect the game if you maintain your fitness.
Yes, that's a fact, because age is completely relative, there are 35-year-olds, 36-year-olds, 38-year-olds for example, who play much better than many younger players.

Well, I'm pretty sure that if Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo are called up by the national team to compete in the world cup in 2026, their performance will not be at the level it is today, especially in terms of their physique (strength, explosion , speed, thrust and other pertinent attributes)

Regarding Ibrahimovic, he is still a good player, but he is far from his prime.
He plays very well, but his physique and his history of injuries is a negative point for him, I believe that this is a sign that his body is no longer the same, especially over 40 years old
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 20, 2023, 10:08:38 PM
Yes, let's see about that but the way I see it, we might see another MVP this time as Joel Embiid is now healthy and probably will stay that way until the regular season ends, and if that happens, he might have the award because of the facts that you've stated above. Furthermore, Embiid has been on this campaign since last season but he failed to get what he wanted because he acquired an unfortunate injury.

Anyway, this will be a good battle for the both MVP favorites because Nikola Jokic is also not giving about it as if he will get it again this time, it will be a three-peat on his side and surely that's a thing he couldn't afford to miss.
Yes, this is true! I have no doubt that the dispute over who will be the MVP this season is fierce, especially Jokic and Embiid.

Well... we have approximately 10 games left in the regular season (guys, correct me if I'm wrong)
I have no doubt, Jokic and Embiid will do everything to stand out in these last games.
Embiid had a relevant evolution during these years, and not to mention that he is one of the most dominant centers in the NBA nowdays (of course, this is my humble opinion).
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 20, 2023, 09:58:09 PM
Perfect.  Wink

The Clippers dominated the Trail Blazers just as I predicted. Without Jerami Grant, there is a hole in their defensive stance especially when it comes to defending PG13 or Kawhi Leonard.

The Bucks had a great close game against the Raptors. I mean, despite playing a back-to-back game they still manage to have a lead or a close game even with exhaustion catching up to them. Bucks still won, Lopez was having fun playing against the FVV.  Cheesy
I am glad I didn't get greedy taking a deeper spread.

Pistons versus Miami Heat was also a tough fight and it was only at the last minutes when the Heat made the gap. Butler and Tyler Herro combined are "bucketmen".

As for the Rockets versus the Pelicans, the Rockets gave them the chills as they chip away the 19-point lead made by the Pelicans. It almost looks like a blowout until they cut it by 8 points in the 4th quarter. Then, the Valanciunas strategy happened, post him up, give him the ball, and win it slowly with free throws.
wow, congratulations @danherbias07, it's a great performance.

I needed to take a break from in my bets to focus on some personal things and the defeats that were happening to me often lol, but... I'll be back soon!

I know, basketball and LeBron James is not the main topic of this topic, and also there is a significant difference between basketball and soccer, I just used that as an example.
I just found it interesting and valid to comment with you guys, and I also imagine, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo still have chances to play in the next world cup, for example, but this is just an unknown and we don't know in fact that this will come true.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: March 20, 2023, 06:05:34 AM
Ronaldo's perfect free kick for Al Nassr marked the night.  It was a very good match, although it was left behind for a long time, they finished the match with 3 points with 2 beautiful goals in the last minutes.  Ronaldo continues to score goals for Al Nassr.
Yes, I watched some highlights of the game and I also saw that free kick by Cristiano Ronaldo, it was a spectacular goal.

Changing the subject...
Could someone tell me if the balls for the Saudi Professional League matches are the same ones used in the world cup, European championships and others?

I've been analyzing and realized that if the ball of a certain championship is different, I have no doubt that this could be a relevant factor in relation to the goals...
Depending on the quality, material and weight of the ball, this may make the game ball more suitable for a certain purpose, such as free kicks, dribbling, and others.
356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: March 20, 2023, 05:47:56 AM
They both were already not at their peak, Christiano Ronaldo was a bit sad to see actually. He was replaced and his replacement played much better than him.

Messi was still OK, but not at a spectacular level. He won the world cup in the end, but it was more of a team effort really.

I don't think any of them will be able to play at that level in the next world cup.
I also agree with that. Regrettably, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are not in their prime, but anyway, they still have a relevant performance and technique, I dare to say that they are still one of the best players in the world, maybe they can be a top 5 or Top 10 players currently.

I believe this will be the trend, the "Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo era" will soon be over and soon Mbappé, Haaland and others will be references in world football.

I confess that I am very anxious to see and analyze the performance of Mbappe, Haaland and others in the 2026 world cup
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 19, 2023, 10:55:21 PM
De Andre Ayton is out for the Suns tonight, and Kevin Durant also remains sidelined so that leaves the C position for Bismack Biyombo, as the Phoenix Suns takes on the Oklahoma City Thunder and SGA, the Phoenix Suns are considered the slight underdog here with a 1.97 Odds on ML, that'd be my first bet for the night, I'm hoping this well for me, before deciding on what to do with later fixtures of the night.
Well... I have no doubt that this absence will be somewhat relevant for the Suns, Ayton and Durant are ""key players"" for the team, their absence will be significant for the Suns.

Even with their absence, I believe the Suns even played an interesting game, Booker was onfire and scored 46 points, CP3 also played relatively well...
I have no doubt that if Durant and Ayton were playing, they could easily beat OKC.

if CR7 becomes the main focus of the Portuguese national team in the 2026 world cup, then Portugal will have their chance to win the world cup

the Portuguese national team still has young talents who can work well together in the squad, there are many legends who are far better than CR7 but when they are old, they must give hope to the younger generation so that the strength of a team does not decrease. The 2026 world cup is still quite long, but the Portuguese national team has definitely prepared for it thoroughly

Players like Cristiano Ronaldo can help the teams more than normal players and that is what we saw in the last world cup about Argentina Messi and how he helped his team, while still the Portuguese national teams have enough young players and they can even find a younger to replace player even if that player is Cristiano Ronaldo but still I think Ronaldo will not show the good performance in 2026 to be a part of his national team anymore.
decline in performance due to aging + potential young players who continue to appear in the Portuguese national team + political conditions for the Portuguese team will definitely make it difficult for CR7 to get the chance to play in the 2026 world cup

Likewise with Messi, I still doubt he will play in the 2026 world cup after he made a statement that he would retire from the national team if the Argentina national team won the 2022 world cup

I'm really curious about the new faces that will compete in the 2026 world cup later
Well... talking about this subject, I was thinking to myself, what level can Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi will be in 2026?

Will the decline in their performances be very relevant? Or can they still be the best players for their teams in the 2026 world cup?
359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 19, 2023, 10:49:32 PM
Just let them be mate hehe, I understand your frustrations about Lebron and how he dictates some fate in the league. I mean, we cannot really blame him because he is surely one of the greats and has been dominating the league especially in his return on the Cavaliers. But look at him now, he sure still look great for being close to a senile man but things have changed, even if he wanted to win, it's already evident that he cannot do some lifting anymore and the team will not reach far if this is how they perform.

LeBron, when he was young, also couldn't pull the whole team because the Cavs roster was pretty mediocre back then. As an example, LeBron gave it his all on the court during the playoffs of the 07/08 season, but he could not oppose anything to the Celtics' big trio. The same thing happened during the playoffs of the 06/07 and 08/09 seasons. I mean, it doesn't matter how talented and great a player is because no one alone can win the title for a weak team.
reading this comment, I would also like to share that this does not only apply to basketball, it is no use for the team to have the best player in the world if the rest of the team is not in tune.
Another example would be Cristiano Ronaldo in the Portugal team and also, Neymar for the brazilian football team.
I clearly remember those seasons from 06 until approximately 09.
LeBron James did miracles for the Cavs, but unfortunately he was stopped by the big trio of the Celtics at that time.
