341  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can we withdraw dollar from mtgox? on: February 24, 2014, 08:32:27 AM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=179586.0

Might be worth a quick read...

Ow wait its 200+ pages of US dollars not coming out of gox.  Euro or Yen only and thats a massive gamble the dollars are moving slower than a snail.

Also might be worth checking out all the news on gox. Some might be FUD some might not who really knows.
342  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGox deletes all tweets from their twitter feed on: February 24, 2014, 07:56:18 AM
I think a lot of people would be really happy to ignore Gox if wasn't for the fact that they have been waiting and extremely long time already to get out of Gox.
So easy for people to say this when they have not been waiting months and months to try and get their US dollars out.

I'm not one of those people I might add.
343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nvidia stepping into cryptocurrency mining on: February 24, 2014, 07:48:16 AM
Oh they're going to steal the "mining crown" are they? Roll Eyes

The only thing they're going to steal is the money of morons...

So I should go and pre order some stuff from butterfly labs etc instead right ?

Personally I would love it if a real company would get in on the mining hardware supply so I could actually buy something in stock and get to mining right away instead of waiting and waiting and wait wtf do you mean its actually still a prototype!!? as the months slip on by.
344  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGox deletes all tweets from their twitter feed on: February 24, 2014, 07:40:31 AM
Dear Gox

While some of might thank you for presenting yet another fantastic buying opportunity one cant help but think WTF Undecided
345  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hope those suckered into the GOX rally lose everything on: February 24, 2014, 03:26:59 AM
Hey thanks Op buddy Grin  I'm sure the worlds already been treating you as you treat others. Still I would like to take this opportunity to tell you life can get better nothing lasts for ever so chin up go outside let the sun warm your face.

Edit: Been getting Euros out of gox for months now. Its not fast but is working . Still I decided to leave a bunch in and gamble scooping up cheep coins that may or not be worth something. Time will tell and until then i wish you well and hope life improves for you.
346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Neo & Bee world first bitcoin bank about to launch in Cyprus tomorrow. on: February 23, 2014, 05:49:47 PM
Good for Cyprus. Being able to buy stuff in local shops with coins this just makes me feel happy. Really hope Cyprus can forge ahead on this path. On a national level Cyprus might be taking the first steps for a very real proof of concept.

@Calhil dude surely you can see many are not confident in their own ability to protect their coins yet wish to be involved. This way we might actually see little old ladies popping out to buy some olives from the local grocer with bitcoins.
347  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Here's my gox theory on: February 23, 2014, 05:00:00 PM
Just no. This is unlikely, its incompetence not malice which is dragging it out this long. My prediction : Withdrawals by wednesday, everybodys happy and life goes on. Oh except for the people trying to sue, they get their accounts locked for a two year legal battle and end up with pennies on the dollar.

I also believe its incompetence not malice. Still not everyone thinks this so good luck to him.
348  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Here's my gox theory on: February 23, 2014, 04:28:11 PM
Having travelled round the world a little and peered into some darker parts of society I would be amazed if he had not received some death threats. For me its a given.

Some people need proof of everything but in this well meh for me I am happy to trust my gut on it. Not much point worrying about it either its not like I'm going to be able to make a difference for him.
349  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mt.Gox Dumps coming! on: February 23, 2014, 11:11:35 AM
and down we go but how far nobody knows
350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A story that might not be a story, and a recent reminder from Satoshi. on: February 23, 2014, 11:07:37 AM
Wow that's some scary fiction would read again. I do hope its fiction.

Still would be kinda cool to hear from Satoshi
351  Economy / Economics / Re: So are only bots left on MtGox? on: February 23, 2014, 09:34:22 AM
If the tweet is real he is dammed if he made it dammed if he did not.

What he could have done was tweet a little transparency. I'm starting to think he either lacks basic social skills and/or has no regard for his customers that have trusted his company.
352  Economy / Economics / Re: So are only bots left on MtGox? on: February 23, 2014, 09:07:34 AM
Lol not been keeping up on marks life and have no idea if that is real or not. Either way if he was running why on earth would he run to America ?
Way I see it most of the pissed off Mt Gox customers that own guns and have had massive problems withdrawing dollars are located in the US. Lol good luck Mark buddy.
353  Economy / Speculation / Re: OMG, Mark is just trying to write his name! on: February 23, 2014, 08:31:11 AM
Wow, and just think... M is the easiest of the letters to write.

The volatility in A will be horrific xD

EDIT: Or wait, is he going to capitalize all the letters? Lowercase a is even worse! :O

 Grin Grin

You a funny dude!

Since this is a function it is impossible to spell out letters that do not pass the line test.

Simply put you cannot have two different values for the same exact time.

Therefore the only letters you can spell are M, N W, T . Y. U. I . H, J, L, V and most of them (the ones with the straight lines) would be Italics.

also possible:
halting trade repeatedly to be able to write other letters.

I suggest that Mark tries to write the following:

CRAZY VOLATILITY Cheesy

(I actually worked 30 minutes in paint to get this result, WTF Tongue)

30 mins spent well sir Grin

Would love this as a widget.
355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Solar powered Bitcoin mining!? on: February 23, 2014, 07:20:42 AM
Depends. I have about 4kw of solar panels outside, some on my main shed, some on a smaller shed, and some sitting around. I used to have them grid-tied, but since my state put in "smart meters" I got a nice letter saying that unless I had them re-installed by a "certified" solar installer my power would be disconnected. This is what we call "one union protecting another", so that is as they say that. Technically with the bitcoin miners I would never back-feed the utility, but I abide by rules.

Oh they also had the gall to send me an "efficiency" letter that I was using 20% more power in the last year. Guess it was the panels. Screw them.

However I can use them to charge about 400ah of 24 volt batteries in the shed (house backup for when we lose power) so I have been re-wiring them appropriately. 24 volts is not as good as 300 volts (what you feed a grid-tie inverter) but it will still work. So this spring/summer I'll try running miners off the panels and see how many I can run with 4kw *5 hours of sun/24 hours a day.

C
Hey bud I can see why you are pissed with them but there are some real concerns for not the energy companies but for the guys who work on the grid.

Self installs can be done exceptionally well and pose no danger whatsoever to anyone but equally these installs can also be done by total idiots. In most case's they have no way of knowing if the system has been linked to the grid or that it may become so when said tinker decides to tinker some more.

As I'm sure you know a system that does not have a self imposed shut down (and very strict rules about starting back up again)  should the grid go out is a major hazard to line workers at least in my country.

Cool project for the miners tho I did something like this back in 2011. Great way to mine Smiley

@dmartig aside from ufo sourced power I agree with you 100% about micro hydro  Wink  nothing beats it.

357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin shop in London on: February 22, 2014, 06:50:01 PM
Really hoping it works out for him. We just need more things to spend bitcoin on here in the UK. Scan.co.uk taking coins is awesome we just need more to follow suit. In fact I'm going to email a company about this tonight.
358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking: MtGox Now Testing Bitcoin Withdrawals on: February 22, 2014, 06:39:55 PM
@rammy2k2

I don't want it to go down. Just don't want it to go up just yet. Hey lets forget we are all still in the dark when it comes to Gox. Anyone seen Mark in the last 24 hours ? Could he be sipping frappuccinos on a private island as we type or maybe he's deep in the gox code working his ass off for his customers.

Me wishing the market one way or another has no effect either way so chin up dear chap Smiley
359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking: MtGox Now Testing Bitcoin Withdrawals on: February 22, 2014, 05:19:38 PM
I don't know why I am always surprised when I see that people are so gullible.

No time for logic move aside
