341  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Bitcoin registra novo topo histórico a R$ 6000 on: May 13, 2017, 09:03:34 PM

342  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-05-13]The strange mix of reasons why bitcoin has soared to all-time record on: May 13, 2017, 03:34:55 PM
Bitcoins traded at over $1,800 late last week, marking a new all-time high. To understand how significant this is, even in the volatile bitcoin market, the cryptocurrency’s previous record price of $1,165 took three years to topple, which happened in February this year when bitcoin traded at $1,210. That milestone has now been crushed just two months later. What’s going on?

Last match of this day is

Stoke - Arsenal,  going clean win to arsenal they need win for CL place next season

Arsenal don't win at Stoke since 2013 and they have a crappy alway form. Bet on Arsenal today may be risky

No home game has won all home games in a 7 game series since 2008, Celtics vs Cavaliers.

The stats are in favor of a Boston win, and of course they want to make the series shorter, now that the Spurs finished theirs in 6 games

The result is quiet opposite on your prediction. Boston is now on do or die situation after washington wizard defend their home beating boston on a blow by blow match. This match is the amazing to watch because they are nearly equal. The Cavs now are vey on facing any of two team since the winner will have a fatigue factor when they face the fully rested cavs player. Hahaha. Cavs will surely get the east.

The defeat came in the last seconds by a 3 point shoot, was a balanced game that could go either way. And by what I see the Celtics lead by a good margin until almost the end, then blackout'ed and let the victory slip

Maybe the Wizards win the next too and keep the tradition of no team wins all home games in a 7 games serie
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be used in space? on: May 13, 2017, 02:55:15 PM
Yes, but the main chain would still have to run without significant delays, at least with the current design and algorithms.

You can generate a transaction offline then propagate it to the network several minutes, hours or even days after you generated it, an astronaut propagating their transactions with the speed of light delay wouldn't be so much different.

But I can't see how a decentralized solar system wide blockchain would work
346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Losing Faith in Bitcoin? on: May 13, 2017, 02:49:54 PM
The unconfirmed log and chaos in price happened before the first ETF decision, some months ago. Price went upwards because some people hoped for an approval, now everyone expects another rejection and are preemptively selling, expecting some crash after the new rejection
Wait a few days after the decision to see if everything happening now are or aren't problems artificially caused
347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Regulations for Chinese Bitcoin Exchanges Expected in June, on: May 13, 2017, 02:45:36 PM
I assume this will help the price of Bitcoin shoot upwards more.  I wonder what percentage of people in China are buying bitcoin?

In short term may cause another dump. Some people may have their bitcoin frozen for months and will sell them somewhere else to take the profit, then taking price down

But regulation is better than doubt, people project the worst nightmares in the things they don't know
348  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-05-12] And a Bitcoin Is Now Worth... on: May 12, 2017, 05:57:12 PM
Be careful with your price comparisons.

by Lorcan Roche Kelly

With a 94 percent year-to-date gain, and a single "coin" now worth $1,843, bitcoin has been on a helluva run lately.

The increase in the cost of the massively-volatile electronic tokens has led to many comparisons with that other favorite outsider "currency'' — gold — recently.

True, a unit of Bitcoin passed the dollar value of one troy ounce of gold this year, and is now more than $600 higher.

349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: May 12, 2017, 05:44:49 PM
Please remove the pool.

Now most people got it "right" because it still open, so people can vote in the right result.

Also clearly the final will be Cavaliers v Warriors, the question is, how long will the series be?
350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Besides its speculation ,what is the real use of bitcoin ? on: May 12, 2017, 04:04:40 PM
Buying drugs and guns on the internet.

Lol yes, can't forget that. A currency isn't a currency until you can buy drugs with it.

And not getting caught for it. I think that is the best part of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Anonymity, although this is not fully anonymous most part of it helps in many ways. People will always tend to try new things to do illegal sh*t so it is nothing new to bitcoin.

and being scammed in the process, or being caught on the delivery

you know, lots of drugs and guns are being illegally sold much before Bitcoin existed, I believe it should be easier and cheaper to buy drugs and guns with cash
351  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Bitcoin registra novo topo histórico a R$ 6000 on: May 12, 2017, 03:58:49 PM

352  Economy / Speculation / Re: What price would you stop buying Bitcoin? on: May 12, 2017, 03:23:13 PM
I will buy until either I don't have any money left or I have too much in Bitcoin that diversify is a must(probably around $1M worth of Bitcoin, still a long way to go).

Bitcoin has potential to easily grow some orders of magnitude in the incoming decade, so any price is cheap now
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was the value of 1 Bitcoin when you first mined/purchased? on: May 12, 2017, 03:18:19 PM
Was close to 2013's Christmas when I deposited, I think I bought after the first Chinese ban of Bitcoin. Price was around $600

Of course was less than 1 Bitcoin because I was a noob

356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Besides its speculation ,what is the real use of bitcoin ? on: May 12, 2017, 02:42:50 PM
Transfer money around the world for cheap, even where there are economic sanctions that would make such transfer impossible
Have a storage of value that won't surely loses value over time and won't require trust in banks or store or physical objects that can be stole, counterfeit or lost. Good if you live in violent places with fragile bank system.
You don't need to have a bank account or credit card to use them
357  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For New Investors - The 3 Percent Bitcoin Rule on: May 09, 2017, 03:03:11 PM
Why 3% ?

Better use the same value as suggested for the economist as how much you should save every month for personal savings, that is, at least 10%, if possible 20%+. It is usual to save 50% in some parts of the world.

3% will only give you some money and feeling you could have much more if you spared just a little more
358  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 09, 2017, 02:55:59 PM
japan is the most cash heavy developed society. something like 85 per cent of transctions are cash.

it maybe means more future potential but there are other places more ready made.

maybe they see Bitcoin as some form of digital cash Huh

also Bitcoin as investment would not be used for daily transaction

I don't think the japanese hold their savings in cash, they would devalue every day and could be easily stolen or destroyed in case of fire or something  Huh

maybe they just don't like banks, so they prefer to use cash daily
359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please run a full node on: May 09, 2017, 02:51:14 PM
Most people will have only 8 connections or will shut down the node from time to time and will be syncing most of time, so they will be a burden for the network most of time.

Also I think the network is more than strong enough with the current nodes. It is more a future problem maybe than an urgent issue
360  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-05-08]Bitcoin hits $1,600 for the first time on: May 09, 2017, 02:36:54 PM
Bitcoin hits $1,600 for the first time and one investor says it could rally to $4,000 in a few months

The bitcoin price. could rise to about $4,000 within 8 to 14 months, investors say.
The recent price rise has been driven by positive developments around the underlying technology with a rival cryptocurrency called litecoin.

Bitcoin is "fully valued" and could see a pullback in the short term after hitting $1,600 for the first time on Monday, according to one investor, but the price could go as high as $4,000 over the next 14 months.

The cryptocurrency has been on an upward move since April and was trading around $1,575.52 by early afternoon trading in London after hitting an all-time high $1,601.05 during morning trade, according to the Coindesk bitcoin price index.

In the last 30 days, bitcoin has risen over 33 percent.
