341  Economy / Economics / Re: central banks and Bitcoin on: August 18, 2017, 01:43:54 AM
Central banks will not attack Bitcoin a lot until it gets a lot bigger threat.
Right, I totally agree with your opinion
The central bank will not attack bitcoin like the one we are currently using, so even if the crisis happens bitcoin will not be attacked by the central bank

Well in a way, they have different style of transactions and security and off course opportunity. More people are into btc because it gives opportunity to people who really doesn't have any money without thinking about interest and taxes. Furthermore banks are just affiliation if ever people want to convert btc. Btc is untouchable by any other entities besides the team who holds it and its not easy to conquer a lot of memories or bytes in the internet.
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most amount of bitcoin you ever had? on: August 18, 2017, 12:21:45 AM
I have between 1-10 bitcoins (I won't tell how much exactly, lol). With current price of bitcoin, I don't have idea how I would be able to get more btc. I think that now, biggest amounts of btc are owned by early bitcoin users, millionaires, high scale scammers and owners of big btc companies. Offcourse, we can't forget to mention mr. Satoshi.
Now, growing bitcoin price and more people joining bitcoin community, it means that for many people 1 btc becomes unreachable amount.

I too had at least between those numbers but ut was on my old blockchain account. In kind of sadden because i forgot the password of the site where i inputted my wallet id and i had at least .03 in there. I did not regret it earlier because it was just a small amount during that time but today I guess it could mean much for an investment if possible.
343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can you tell if you are suffering from gambling addiction? on: August 17, 2017, 01:06:33 PM
I just want to ask how would you know if a person is suffering from gambling addiction. Can you guys tell me the signs of it?

Good question. But it is easy to know behalf of these point of views, that how much time you and any addicted person spend on gambling. If he spend a lot of time, in playing gambling and all the time he think and discuss about gambling and main point is that if he has wasted his money in gambling and also he has lost everything in gambling. Then i could say he is addicted gambler. Because every addicted gamble's hand empty and he has been lost everything in gambling.

Well i spend a lot of time at gambling but i dont see my self as an addict. Because for me an addict is he will do what it takes to make profit from gambling. Most if goes south then he would risk things that are beyond the limitations. Sometimes i admit i can be addict, but over the years i learned to control and handle losses. Because for most addicts they cant handle their habbits until it would go over board. So for me addicts are the one abusing and too much spending on things that is meant to be legal.
344  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long are BTC transactions taking? on: August 17, 2017, 09:38:16 AM
I bought some BTC on Coinbase last night and had it sent to Poloniex.  I know the BTC wallet address was accurate.  Its still pending 11 hours later and doesn't show up in the Poloniex deposit/withdrawal history.  Any clue on how long BTC transactions are taking?

I think 11 hour its lot of time, btc transaction dont have a exact time , it only depend on confirmation number and fee (more pay for fee faster transaction)
Personally i use blackchain and localbitcoin wallet, and in max 1 hour the transaction its confirmed

I think the timeframe of this post is different right now so different strategies could be used. And yeah you fee could tell you how fast the transaction is. But for me i traded small amounts like .007 or.003 to some sites but paid .001. I know fees are robbing us but what could we do about it? We cant just whine and let them adjust to us. Sometimes we should accept its changes and adapt to it. So for me every time i trade i pay .001 and i receive it in 1 hour or lesser with that kind of fee.
345  Economy / Services / Bitcoiners in UK. London part on: August 17, 2017, 08:13:52 AM
Hello guys i dont know where to put this since i did not find any in the local posts. Moderators could move this to its proper place if they read it.

So in a few months i'll be moving to London and i would want to ask if there are anyone of you that lives there?. Is there some kind of services that i can input my money into a certain wallet address? Because probably most of my money would be in fiat and im wondering how could i transfer it.
Is there any site that converts btc to uk pound?
Also are there any services that i can also with withdraw to fiat after i converted the btc into pounds?

Thanks btc community for your help.
346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What made 'Bitcoin' the Bitcoin it is today? on: August 17, 2017, 05:50:38 AM
Thre big advanatage o bitcoin is the fact that it was first cryptocurrency introduced. But if didn't have users support there wouldn't be success. People realised that bitcoin gives great opportunities to make profit, to use it as a payment method, as an investment, to move from the banks and governements and that the value is rising. That all contributed for bitcoin to become what it is now. I think that still in early stage people realised that bitocin is inevitable future and that was the beginning of the success.

Well it has goods but sometimes btc has also its bad effect. Not the btc itself is bad but depends on who and how people will use it. But generally it helped a lot of people everywhere in the globe. I for one admit that my life has changed when i discovered btc. Sometimes only the big traders are still becoming rich and small time traders tend to have just small profits over the time. But i guess everyone is free to do whatever strategy to become also a rich bitcoiner.
347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will Casino Investors Become Worthless Someday? on: August 16, 2017, 02:54:41 PM
nope casino investors won't be worthless someday because they are also stock holders im talking about here the real investors of the company of online casino. those investors have already got their share revenue and they're still making out of it that's the good thing about investment you won't gonna be bankrupt at it because you know that it will have a income every day.
We have two chances to get losses in investing on casino sites. One is if the casino shut down without intimating investors and another one is if the casino gets negative feedback from many users then it will lose players the profit will be reduced and finally you may have a chance to lose your investment. We can make a profit in investing on casino, but you should invest only in an old casino that running for at least couple of years and it should be rated well by users.

Well as long there are ads on there site and anything links then they really are profitting or even visits and views or tries on there site. It can be just an extra profit if there would be any high profile players wanting to make bets on that site. Because i dont think they will have bad insights on the sight. Probably after they have gotten how much they invested on that site, they would start making plans on how to go out without being caught.
348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does Bitcoin affect other Crypto? on: August 16, 2017, 12:45:46 PM
I have recently been into altcoin trading. I just want to know, does the price of bitcoin affect the price of other cryptocurrencies as well? How? I really want to know. I have noticed that ever since the bitcoin price pumped up and reached 4,000 USD, the price of the altcoins had gone really really low. I almost lost my invesment due to this sudden drop. Does bitcoin price have something to do with this?
Bitcoin is also a kind of cryptocurrency. I think, if there's a huge inflation in Bitcoin, there'll be deflation to other cryptos such as altcoins. Maybe, it is because of the reason that cryptocurrency value depends on the market's demand. Whenever Bitcoin is being in demand, the opposite will happen in other cryptos.  All cryptocurrency, I think, is volatile, so this happens often.

Well it is the pioneer of the cryptocurrency so i think it wont be just simply be compared to any altcoin. Although all altcoin have there own value on dollar, it is still normal to think how much it could be worth if it is converted to btc. Technically each altcoin has there own pump or dump but they would just increase because of btc but in terms of how much they are worth in dollars does not have any relation with btc.
349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Corrupt Central Banks and Governments just gonna sit back and watch Bitcoin win? on: August 16, 2017, 11:53:43 AM
Do you think mass will not protest if the central banks and govn want to buy all bitcoin in the market, How much cash do they need. That, will make a country collapse  because inflation due to the bank reserve to much cash for bitcoin. The bitcoin traders will not sell the holdings too. They wait for the higher price, and the bank can't afford to buy bitcoin.
Well those are just bigger entities than most of the members here. Buying btc is not that easy let alone concurring all of it with just one individual. There are many governments around the world and each in everyone of them would just fight on who is more dominating and would be the main reserve. I guess having misinterpretations between the higher ups could just create an unsolvable crises if ever one of them wants to own it.
350  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go pass the 5000 USD mark? on: August 16, 2017, 10:31:13 AM
With the price at 4100 USD per bitcoin. Is it a good time to join? will it go pass the 5000 USD mark?
very likely to happen in this month most probably after segwit is activated. This year has been really great for BTC it is gaining a lot of mainstream attraction, also from some major countries like Japan. So yes it's perfect time to get in BTC.

A lot could happen during that segwit activition. But i think this is the day that btc will be adopted my many countries and some businnessmen. I think most in the asia has already made big impacts on btc so thats not new and even 1st world countries. A lot of people too are speculation that there will a 7k increase during the activation of the segwit plus if a third coin would be created during that segwit then more chances that btc will increase more.
351  Economy / Economics / Re: Btc or Bcc on: August 16, 2017, 08:15:06 AM
Bitcoin its bitcoin Smiley
But the new bitcoin cash have a good road to new innovations, i think invest now in bitcoin cash its a good idea, in the future it can grow up like bitcoin, and you can make a lot of money

I have some btc but i think its not really good to hope that btc will increase because i think it already had its pump during that hardfork. I do still believe that btc can increase more in prizes. So better for me to invest in btc as to there are a lot of speculation that btc will go up to 10k$ after that segwit2x will be activated during august 21. But i think we have to wait for another 3 days after its activation because for sure there will be another clogs.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's real use of segwit activation? on: August 16, 2017, 07:06:58 AM
Dear all
Yesterday i sent 0.036 BTC from my electrum wallet to my localbitcoins account.Electrum wallet showed me automatically a fee of 0.0003 BTC.I adjusted it to 0.0005 BTC.Already 24 hours gone, still transaction was not confirmed. Some times,it shows 84 hrs to get confirmed, then 6 hrs, then again 84hrs then again 20 minutes, then again 84 hrs.I clearly understand that the miners are not showing any interest in confirming my transaction. Now today,i sent another 0.0112 BTC again with a transaction fee of 0.0003BTC.Four hours gone, still showing 84 hrs for confirmation.I am in desperate need of money now. Now,i just have a question that what's the use of activating segwit and increasing block size then? So,what i understand is that miners think "You all do whatever you wish, activate segwit or not,we are the only authorised people to decide what the transaction fee should be"
I think i have catched their mind voice correctly.Just i want to know what you all people think about this? Is segwit activation then just an eye wash?

Segwit isn't activated yet. Once activated you can opt for Segwit transactions. With Segwit more transactions can be accommodated in a block and the transaction size also gets smaller so quicker transactions and a slightly lower fee. Segwit does solve the scalability issue to an extent, but isn't the ultimate solution. Segwit opens the door for other scalability solutions and one of them is LN.

Some miners will spam and try to manipulate fee. With on chain transactions miners control the fee, but with LN, off chain transactions gives users the choice to have instant transactions at a very small fee.

Segwit will get activated next week and other implementations would be integrated soon.

Well technically the money you are transfering is just a small number to the priorities of the miners on how much they would confirm. I see that he said needs money but i think the minimum fee is .001. With that fee you could expect longer transaction. Because i transfered .006 to a site and it just took 30 minutes and i risked .001 payment. So i guess try and that minimal fee if you want faster transaction.
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: August 15, 2017, 04:37:56 PM
What's up with the Irving trade nowadays, does he have a team to go to already?

I don't have an idea on what team did he jumped to. But before anything else possibly that he don't have choice but to keep on playing for the Cavs again and just endure his feeling with Lebron. So he doesn't have a choice or else he will be blanked and no team to play but I doubt it, this is probably just a sort of drama.
Nothing is hot about the Kyrie Irving trade. And no team that is linked to him is closing in on the deal. Because all of them are following a similar offer to what the Timberwolves sent for Jimmy Butler and what the Thunders sent for Paul George to keep it short they are wanting Kyrie in exchange for their trash which the Cavaliers clearly don't like. Also from what I know Kyrie Irving is spending some time alone away from Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers this might be a signal in which he really does not want to be with the team anymore.

But with the current trade on rose, i think he might have lower minutes to play or rose could be a shooting guard. I know cavaliers have stacked lineup and bench but i think irving wont be having a leader role if rose could have his gameplay in cavaliers. And if irving would leave cavs, that would leave them in a high salary cap in which they could acquire a high paying player. And it would be a long journey if irving would again want to be a franchise player and carrying them to a playoff.
354  Economy / Speculation / Re: Remember $4,300 this is one of your last chance to get cheap coin on: August 15, 2017, 02:11:07 PM
Now it is 3950, I wanted to sell mine right after I go home after work if the price remained 4300 but I have to wait now. I am afraid we will see a big correction in price as the huge rise in the price of bitcoin was not reasonable, had nothing behind to support it, at least in my view.

Haha. well you missed but i guess you should me more on the price watch because its just like 4 hours ago it was at 4200. Damn this price increase is so unpredictable. Now its slowly going down so better start at least dumping some of the coins. I had really profits for selling earlier so i guess i gotta wait for another price pumps in the coming days. Now from what i see is at 3880. Goodluck selling guys.
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looks like another crash is coming!! on: August 15, 2017, 12:54:19 PM
By the looks of things with bitcoin sky rocketing, this looks familiar!! Another crash is imenent, taking the alt-coins down with it hard!!  Anybody seeing the same pattern here we seen in June of this year!!?
Its possible but there would be no crash after all. There might be a price correction and its just normal on this kind of situation when price of bitcoin do suddenly go up non stop as of now and we do almost hit up 4500 which is really an amazing thing but price corrections would really happen soon and we should wait for that time to happen and selling on the possible sweetest spot as we can.

i think it is just normal for it to crash. Crash as in fall down in price not to have technical difficulties. Because if you are a very keen observer of the price you would know when to sell the price before it falls down again. Not after the price would go up but probably just to cooldown and laylow transaction that could happen everyhour. A lotof altcoin also still are having negative increase so i guess these could mean something.
356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN affect in WWIII (WORLD WAR 3) on: August 15, 2017, 09:57:21 AM
I think it could fund the war on both sides. Countries could take sides and depends on who in which team, certainly those countries could have already have bitcoin in there banks. But from what i see, there are many countries who doesnt want to be affected by any wards because of the traumas that had happened so i guess there will be just talks and debated between these countries just to avoid casualties.
357  Economy / Economics / Re: How to make money only with BTC on: August 15, 2017, 08:53:05 AM
I hear many saying they don't mess with altcoins...how do you make money with btc?

Just buy the dips, sell for usd (or other fiat), then buy back in...rinse and repeat?

I'm not talking about long term holding but about how to build up your bitcoin without touching alts.

Thanks

I think that your wants are not that safe and fast to reach your goal to make money with only bitcoin  because, you need to expand your coverage for your money in order to make money. If you will not touch the alts or other strategies like long term holding then how can you make money with your bitcoin if those things that you don't want are the key for you to make a lot of money?

Or try some services in the forum that pays in btc if you dont have any btc on you. Signature campaign, twitter or even fb campaign. These are some common servives in here. There are also referral links that gives out small amounts of btc and even captchas. Your own risk as long as you know at least basic knowledge in trading. There are still a lot of services in the forum and that could give you a head start on btc.
358  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the world really needs virtual currencies on: August 14, 2017, 11:08:40 AM
I came across an article this morning that, to me, really shows why the world needs a virtual currency. I'm from England, and there's a saying here that goes: "When America sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold." The article discusses the history of the Asian Financial Crisis, and how we may be heading toward something similar.

It amazes me that we have a currency that can potentially protect us (working people) from global financial crises. This is unique and incredible time in history!  Grin

https://www.rt.com/op-edge/398890-financial-crisis-asia-curency/

Our world now is very high technology, In my opinion I think all nations needs this virtual currencies. Yes it is true that USD became powerful and strong currency of all time. But time will come that physical money will disappear when virtual coin(bitcoin) become the new world currency. So much better now to start using it.
Virtual currencies are very good, and is an easy, modern, and fast way to make transactions without banks. Does the world need it ? A capital “YES!!!” the world needs it for a more secure, speedy transaction.

Not only for that, virtual currencies are also very cheap no matter how much you’re sending or receiving, unlike banks where you’re likely to spend hundreds of dollars. Don’t forget that they can also have their own risks, despite the benefits (it’s a common thing)

Well it could help a countries economy because it can be seen as free goods as long a country has its own infrastructures regarding btc. Because in the near future there is a chance that btc now is used for money transaction and the only use of fiat is in some 3rd world countries where btc is not yet familiar. virtual currencies i think are atms but maybe cryptocurrency is the new virtual money.
359  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price bubbled? on: August 14, 2017, 10:11:05 AM
Considering the already high price, I was always skeptical and thought it will fall again anytime soon. But meanwhile I am convinced that it will rise further, because if you take a look at the Fiat money nonsense, I am confident that more and more people will start to use bitcoin. Probably not the older generation, but the younger and middle aged people surely.

In just one week it went in a increase frenzy. It may fail but i think the stagnant price now is at 3k. And there is even a price in august 1. So i guess better invest than having regrets at the end of the month. A lot really would notice a 5k$ in dollar in just one unit of a cryptocurrency. In my locality many are now having questions and they are enrolling in this links that are seen on fb. So many more strategies are coming for the sake of new people to try it.
