441  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long does it take you to start getting profit in crypto trading on: July 27, 2017, 09:35:11 AM
If you buy the right coin you can make profit in one day, but if you choose the wrong coin maybe need to wait a while and maybe you won't get your money back, so it depends on how good is your speculation, the first time I bought alt coin I lost money, from that moment I learn how to trade and analyze

Actually there are a lot of altcoins today that has still no value or very low but i think in a few months or a yearprices would increase and so today is a good day to buy or invest in some of this altcoins. There are some altcoins that are up there years ago but  price is still low until now so better be a smart investor.
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: July 26, 2017, 12:28:39 PM
Any insider news on where Kyrie is heading?

There is still no certain team on where Kyrie is moving. But it seems that he prefer to go with Spurs or it's just a crowd suggestion. But if that will be the final move, Spurs will be empowered with him. And there's another player in addition with the strength of Spurs and that is Pau Gasol that recently signed a contract with them.
He should move because there will be rival of star between him and Derrick Rose because they played in the same position, although Derrick Rose is not highly paid now but he still have that capacity to play and to defend his opponent. Slowly if he will remain being healthy he can recover and maybe he will be back again on his old style of play, he belongs to be good team so I guess it will be a challenge for him.

D Rose moving to Cleveland finally is a nail to the coffin that Irving will moved away from Cavs. I hope D Rose can revived his career with the Cavs and help them at least go to the Finals again. I still believed that D Rose has still has it, although he lost a step or two, but definitely can contribute and score if needed. Let's wait and see where Irving goes and then we can discuss if he is a perfect fit to the team he is choosing.
Well, good luck with Derick Rose. He is my idol since his bulls career starts. But compare to Irving, Irving is a little ahead. Derick Rose also is weak on defense. Hope he improves on defense. No questions about his ability. He is very explosive when he is on attack mode. But since he was injured, the power is still there but the aggression lessened. If ever Irving landed to Spurs. I think it will be a good match up between Cavs and Spurs. But this time i will go for Spurs.

Cavs is stronger with Rose I guess.

But still NBA is still a game of teams and not just with a single player, team play is still needs to be considered for the whole league.

They have made the final decision, Irving leaving the Cavs and looking now for a new home.
I'd say that if Cavs trade Kyrie, Its probably a bad move. I know that Rose will replace him but he hasnt really been the same since his first big knee injury. His last season was good but cant be compared to Irving. He was also their clutch shooter and had hit a lot of game winners to save cavs and personally I think he does that better than LeBron right now. With LeBron probably only having a few more seasons at best where he can dominate the league he isnt that great at clutch and relies on the team mostly to make good plays. Only time will tell how good Rose plays with cavs but I personally think its a bad move for Cavs on the whole.

It's a bad move as we are seeing on how big Kyrie is a loss for the Cavs.

But Kyrie is just becoming wise and it looks like opportunities are knocking to him and he don't want to be a sidekick forever.

I'm seeing him making his own path of career with other team.

We could compair this instances with the good old okc team where durant, harden and westbrook on one team. They were scattered and each of them became a franchise player. But the difference is that the cavs stars won a championship even before some big trades. So i guess irving switching teams is not a new issue anymore.
443  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Accepting Bitcoin and altcoins on your website on: July 26, 2017, 04:14:52 AM
In our country since now there is quite awareness being spread across so few have started accepting it as a payment mode on their local shops and on their website too. Though the number are not huge but it is expected to go up in coming months as there will be more clarity on bitcoin from government side which will help everybody to be on the same page.

This will especially be beneficial to all the bitcoin investors/ users where they can even start spending bitcoin which is not happening at present.

Bitcoin transaction now adays is starting to get more common. So i suppose this guys site would help too in some businesses. But in my place there is not much locals who are into bitcoin and i doubt that there would be anyhere whos gonna accept btc nor use it in there website. Because  in here webs are just advertising rather turning it to online store.
444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: luck behind bitcoin earning on: July 26, 2017, 03:48:05 AM
people think that bitcoin is easy way to get rich but it's not like that, I have been played lottery  since two years.
Still i am not that rich. There are few lucky people who earn so many bitcoins but most of the people still not happy with their earnings.

Nothing is easy anymore as things are getting to be complex. Years ago, it was simple to earn some money online...those days are forever gone. However, the market is now bigger and it is expanding everyday so opportunities are cropping up like mushrooms. Bitcoin is one of those which we can play with and is presenting a whole new world for all of us.

As you said, it is not an easy way to get rick quick. Heck, even ponzi program can be laborious and you need to constantly promote your program for it to later catch fire and have a life of its own before it can collapse to the ground. In other words, nothing is easy anymore.

This is quite true with Bitcoin though if you are looking at it from the eyes of a fund manager or an old-timer investor Bitcoin can be like a heaven sent.

Maybe in the early days of btc people are hoping for better richness and most probably are eager to try anything that they could percieve as profitable investment. But old timers even sometime were a victim of these scams. But i guess today really is hard because of the advancement of knowledges about btc or any other cryptocurrencies.
445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy new altcoins in ICO stage = profit? on: July 26, 2017, 03:06:29 AM
Title.

Basically is this how its done to receive a profit on Cryptocurrency?

or just invest when research and news is done.

Thank you
Basically, not every ICO is succeed, if it is not, the price after ICO will be decreased or even if that ICO is succeed, after ICO, there may be many people sell their coins, it could lead the price go down.

Its not just.on its sells but sometimes you jave to know what is the coin offering or what is its function. Because this coins now arent just for mining but they are now integrating functions such as bank affiliations or how to transact artworks. Also being familiar with its developer can be a goos impact on the flow an ico. Many have now became victims of false promises by some ico during the early staged but i can see now that most people are now well informed when it comes to things like this.

About time I think. These ICOs were giving the whole industry a bad name

SEC Issues Investigative Report Concluding DAO Tokens, a Digital Asset, Were Securities
U.S. Securities Laws May Apply to Offers, Sales, and Trading of Interests in Virtual Organizations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2017-131
Washington D.C., July 25, 2017—
The Securities and Exchange Commission issued an investigative report today cautioning market participants that offers and sales of digital assets by "virtual" organizations are subject to the requirements of the federal securities laws. Such offers and sales, conducted by organizations using distributed ledger or blockchain technology, have been referred to, among other things, as "Initial Coin Offerings" or "Token Sales." Whether a particular investment transaction involves the offer or sale of a security – regardless of the terminology or technology used – will depend on the facts and circumstances, including the economic realities of the transaction.

The SEC's Report of Investigation found that tokens offered and sold by a "virtual" organization known as "The DAO" were securities and therefore subject to the federal securities laws. The Report confirms that issuers of distributed ledger or blockchain technology-based securities must register offers and sales of such securities unless a valid exemption applies. Those participating in unregistered offerings also may be liable for violations of the securities laws. Additionally, securities exchanges providing for trading in these securities must register unless they are exempt. The purpose of the registration provisions of the federal securities laws is to ensure that investors are sold investments that include all the proper disclosures and are subject to regulatory scrutiny for investors' protection.

"The SEC is studying the effects of distributed ledger and other innovative technologies and encourages market participants to engage with us," said SEC Chairman Jay Clayton. "We seek to foster innovative and beneficial ways to raise capital, while ensuring – first and foremost – that investors and our markets are protected."

This is why most of the ICOs doesn't allow American Citizens to invest in.
I'm much more curious how the US authorities would treat a ICO founder who lands in US? Any information? Because I have some memories for arrested owners of poker companies after the Black Friday.

If they authorities could accumulate enough evidence of those law subject then they would be arrestes. And although there are laws on internet schemes,  i think the legislatine need to pass some laws or agree on some bills that are directed to these kinds of ico projects. Because in some ways these project can run around the law even if they obviously broken some of the security laws.
447  Other / Meta / Re: Paying to keep Thread on Top / Pay per Post on Bitcointalk on: July 26, 2017, 12:42:33 AM
ive noticed a new practice these days and wanted to ask the community about your views on this.

see here.

This thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2024824.0

 - - - - - this thread is constantly on top in the ANN altcoin announcements.

That got me interested so I dug a little deeper.

This is what I found:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2039055.0

Is this the first PPP (pay per post) campaign on Bitcointalk or have there been more?

TY

Well honestly this is just my 1st time too seeing this and i gotta say that this is just to help the project advertise its ico. This kind of ppp to me unusual but seems legit. It is not the typical ppp that i was accostumed of. I too am curious feel free to update you posts if you have came across the same type of ppp.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] Artcoin - Artcoin.fund Token Sale and Presale - Real Art on: July 25, 2017, 07:12:46 PM
As an art enthusiast, having a platform for art combine with the technology of blockchain is indeed wonderful. I'm not really keen on looking at platforms where I can buy and sell artworks so it's really nice to see one at a place where I am interested as well. I'm looking forward to invest both some of my money and time to be a part of this wonderful community we will have.

The project has good prospects, not just for art enthusiasts, but also the regular Joe like myself with no idea about how and where to go to buy or sell artworks. Should this workout as planned, then it will make trading artworks much easier and secure.

But i think its uniqueness is still a good purpose for the society. As i read the previous comments, there are still posibilities that there was a project for arts but i have never heard some of it.
449  Other / Meta / Re: bitcoin talk account security on: July 25, 2017, 04:16:56 AM
What if we lose our account, can we report to admin? With accurate proof, then they try to restore our account
Yes,you have to provide a signed message from one of your staked addresses that if you have staked an address otherwise oldest posted address is considered.
However restoring accounts takes days, months and there is no guarantee you will ever get your account back even with submission of valid proofs.

Yes, this is what I was doing in past saving password in text and storing it on a locked usb drive so no one can access it.
But it was not convenient so I switched to LastPass and highly recommend everyone to use it.
It will save your password in the database and even they cannot access it.
That's a lie.If they have stored your password in a database, how come they can't access it ? Assuming they can't access it,how would you access it if required ? If it goes to a database,it is more vulnerable than anything else.

In my previous year when i was in hiatus maybe in mid 2016, my password for 5 months is just the same. I have not encountered password hackings because my emails during those time where jot yet official.Even now i do not care if some topics are offering something that links the btc account to there own phishing site. But there ico also that made the same schemes.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Mixer a must? on: July 25, 2017, 03:34:08 AM
No one is definitely not needed many hardware wallets have many addresses and it sends from multiple and you can request with a new one

That hardly protects your privacy. Bitcoin mixers are a must especially if you deal with sensitive and often illegal activities online. But for your general Bitcoin usage, it is not really needed.

But if somebody knows our bitcoin address, then he can watch us as long as we use the same wallet. This is really bothering for me. I couldn' find a solution rather than btc mixer.

Well it is really in a users preference, some do not care about mixer some would make it a big deal depending on hiw much they transacting. Because for me i do not mind for this moment as i have yet  make transactions bigger than .1 btc. Because they me publicized but i think it is untouchable and if were to become hackable there would have bewn a big issue on the security of blockchain.
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still support Ethereum? on: July 25, 2017, 02:58:48 AM
Even if you dont want to, if you are supporting an ETH based ICO you dont want to let ETH fall.
It will be a problem with other coins that are just starting and the larger the ETH value is the more of the other coins you could buy which makes it more profitable. So best way is to suport it too rather than taking it down with threads that are bashing it.

Even with many ico's created through ethereum, i still cant believe that it still has many bashers. It is one of the most helpful successful ico's out there. There may be also flows like btc but i guess because its price is still producting it is prone to critics and questionable decisions. Because if the fail most ico too would crumble on its foundation
452  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think about bitcoin interest in the near future? on: July 25, 2017, 02:30:51 AM
I believe something huge is going to happened, bitcoin is a very potential coin, there are so many things that can happened in the future and bitcoin can become a very profitable business, so in the future there will be a lot of people involve in crypto currencies

Really something big will happen in bitcoin in the future because as youve said bitcoin has really a big potential coin ever since it is created it has own uniqueness and potential on greater price. People will really adopt the bitcoin and used it in their daily lives and sooner it would be the means of payment in daily spends

But what is expected is the august 1 update. Users have been complaining about delayed payments and even high fees, so i guess that new bip well at least change things a little bit. Maybe in the near future there will another threatening issue but at this moment we might not still know it for sure. But there will always be complains even if some services are in its best posibble performance.
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much money will the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor fight make? on: July 25, 2017, 01:56:32 AM
In the Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight, PPV buys were in HD ($100) versus SD ($90). The fight generated a record 4.4 million PPV buys, HBO and Showtime announced, which produced more than $400 million in TV revenue alone. That shatters the previous record of 2.48 million PPV buys set by Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya in 2007. That pushes the total revenue for the fight to between $550 and $595 million. Of that $500-plus million in revenue, more than $350 million will go to Mayweather and Pacquiao. Mayweather will take home between $209 and $210 million and Pacquiao will take home between $142 and $143 million.

I estimated that the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Connor will pushes around the $700 million to probably around $1 billion mark. Basing on the previous revenues of Floyd and Manny. For all we know, they are going to break that record and will be the richest boxing event of all time. I don't know what fight could generate such revenue without Floyd name in it.

Yup....And, the funny thing is that this fight isn't going to be worth the popcorn kernels left in the bottom of the bowl once the fight is over.  It's not even a competitive match!  It's joke!  It's a carnival!  I just wish Nate Diaz would have choked this little leprechaun out the first time, instead of let the boy surrender...McGregor is just a carnival barker...this ain't a real fight!

HaHaHa. But that leprechaun had already make a lot more than us and will probably make millions more once the fight with Floyd is than. It maybe a circus carnival but people will buy tickets because those two athletes have already hype this fight.

I'm thinking around 1 billion can be generated by those two. Damn it will be a lot of money specially for Connor. It will dwarf any PPV records, even the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight.

I didn't say that it wouldn't make a lot of money. I actually agree that it will most likely break all the records as far as generating revenue.  However, this fight is not going to be worth anywhere near what we're paying for to see....The outcome is obvious....it's a mismatch....if Mayweather doesn't beat the crap out of this dude, then we know it's was rigged!  If Mayweather was 15 years younger, I'd give the fight to him in the octagon too.  This little leprechaun doesn't stand a chance in the ring under the rules of boxing....his lucky charms aren't gonna help him this time!

Of course mayweather promotions are known to hype games beyond their value and thus wouldn't be different, it's obvious he will be laughing to the bank afterwards but they might sell us a sub standard game which might be the retiring game of mayweather I think.

But even if we have this kind of mindset, most people still are hyped to watch and moreover bet on this kinds of games. And i think betting has a big factor on how much boxing promotions are commisioning. Beacause really at the end of the day people are just gonna be disappointed and making pointless arguments about every round and who should've won the event.
454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Privacy of us citizens at risk, what is the best platform to prevent this? on: July 24, 2017, 10:42:18 AM
Hi,

Swedish government gave database away of its milions of citizens. I think blockchain woud be a good sollution to this as we will see more privacy blunders from authorities all over the world. But what blockchain would be best suitable for this problems because I beleive there is what we should invest in now.

More on news:

News in Dutch, i translated just a bit.

https://tweakers.net/nieuws/127517/zweedse-overheid-gaf-databases-met-gegevens-miljoenen-burgers-uit-handen.html

"Swedish government transferred databases with driving licenses, inclusive picture, and dat about their cars and infrastructure in 2015 to cloud services of IBM and NRC in Tsjechie and Servie."
Also data about militairy vehicles and roads, names adresses of pilotes of defense,..;...

List obviously goes on and on but can this be solved with the blockchain?
Anything that is on an internet and not an intranet is at risk of being made public.

I don't think Blockchain technology would stop this, cryptography might though.

I do think also that btc is a pure solution but it could help in some ways. Because offcourse the only risk on btc is the anonymity. Because there are also talks in our country that they would also give databases for the public for easier access and transaction because honestly it is good as long as the infos are not too much informative for an individual risk also to avoid further delays.
455  Other / Meta / Re: Should ICOs without blockchains be removed from Alternate Cryptocurrencies forum on: July 24, 2017, 10:23:17 AM
I don't it would be possible to remove ICO's from this forum at all. Bitcointalk is financially supported by ICO's - now we can see ICO advertisements in forum ad spaces. Why they would need to cut off branch on which they are sitting now.
I would agree if ICO's would have their sub-forum, to separate it from usual coins. Because now on Altcoin announcement board we see almost only ICO's.
They don't have to be removed, and shouldn't be removed. But depending on the type of fundraiser, I do believe that there should be different types of forums as well. As is, it's extremely difficult to conduct any market research.

For many years member now here are now adept to those scams not only the ICO's but also other ponzis in the physical world because it has almost the the same schemes. Some users may have different perspectives on this ICO's but nothing it could be done to change those. There are many payments for these schemes but it is just the same what ever it is. Schemers could just find new ways and smarter to hide those facts in plane sight.
456  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How hard is it to make payments Bitcoin? on: July 24, 2017, 09:22:43 AM

bitcoin payments to buy the goods we want

It really depends on what you are buying. Some things are easy to buy using bitcoins and there are things that can't be bought using bitcoins.
Usually VPNs and VPS and other online services are pretty easy to purchase using bitcoins. But if you are looking for something like a vacuum cleaner, tough luck. You have to convert those coins to fiat.

Actually there are sights who posts there own btc address. So i think that is just a go sign to use btc a a means of transaction. And time after time there a lot of sites that are now introducing btc in there own market. From what i see the only problem is the transaction delays and fees. But nonetheless it is better and faster to use btc as means of payment because its easier and faster that you dont need any virtual cards or accounts.
457  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC grow or less on: July 24, 2017, 04:51:29 AM
Hi! Do you have something information about grow Bitcoin or less on the next week, two weeks??

Regards All !

Bitcoin is scheduled to grow, there's definitely room for it and sentiment driving investment which will assist this.

Weak hands lose in the market, don't panic and don't invest more than you're willing to lose

And with the coming update it will surely grow but at what costs and when shall ut become stable?. Btc is a growing economy and even if the price goes down, there are still gonna be many patroners. So for me its okay to panic as buy as long you do not do it so always and just for experimental issues. One thing is for for btc and that is the anonymity. And probably there will be new issues to be solved
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the first sign of a scam project (ico) for you? on: July 24, 2017, 12:33:46 AM
Is this a "How do I run a scam ICO without being spotted" kind of thread?

While I doubt it is, I don't want to give any con artist any ideas. If you want to protect yourself always try to think from the position of a scammer. You will always learn something new that way, and will eventually learn how to keep your funds growing.

I think this is just an honest questions, besides scamming with icos must need a lot of money and intellectuals so i doubt any bigtime scammers could even lurk around this community in a long time. But i agree that we should just not divulge any ideas in a forum full of random people.
459  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I invest On BITCOIN right Now or Later on: July 23, 2017, 11:51:51 PM
Nobody can tell what will happen to price on 1st august but on long term you can be sure that price of bitcoin will rise. So just invest what you can afford right now and don't keep thinking about it looking at $100-200 dump/pump. That is just a normal market swing, just don't sell your bitcoin for loss after you buy it.

There could be new strats that could emerge after august 1 but on my observation, a  lot of fresh investors are basing there judgement on few people whom they could think that has lots of experience but i think it is better to have own research and own reading so you yourself can make your own strategy then try to compair with others on who has applied better strategy.
460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what determines the value of BITCOIN?? on: July 23, 2017, 11:08:43 PM
Bitcoin price go up or down because bitcoin supply is limited  so we cant buy bitcoins how much we want. Also informations are important in affecting to bitcoin price and also how much is btc solded and bought.

If you take into account that the supply is limited the price should go up all the time.
And you can buy as many bitcoins as you want , but probably you lack the money.
Where did this nonsense come from?

For small time traders, money for investment is a big issue. Because some beginners are having the mind set that they have to buy a whole btc to make it count as an investment. Prices of btc is may be affected by supply and demand but alt coins also rotate around btc, so btc isnt just the coin that could be worth investing.
