My problem with the current merit system is simple: I was a Hero member, my account was hacked and I had to start all over again since I could not get any help with recovering my account.
'Start over again', what does it mean? Can you explain a bit more about your case? After the hack, your account's postcounts dropped and you had to collect activities again, or you actually lost the Hero-ranked account forever and had to start from zero with a Newbie account/ Which one is your case? It means I never got the Hero account back, had to start completely form scratch as a newbie.. No help, had to open a new account and start over. This actually happened twice accounts RJF and RJF19 both hacked and these accounts had good passwords and no leaks from my computer, odd. I reported it both times, no joy.

Hello! I look at the graph of the coin and the price just above 10 satosh was. This coin is already a year, then why is it of no interest to anyone?
Looks like it's of interest to someone: MarketCap: $3,965,194 USD 650 BTC Volume (24h): $2,580 USD Entire market is depressed, have patience.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone dumping their bags at a loss because they have an issue with 1 GUI out of the dozens of platform projects; I promise that when the market goes back up, I'll spend the profits you're giving up on so many nice things for myself. Yup, I will second that. Interesting...

Too many coins held by a few whales. Look elsewhere.
Top 100 owns 76.78 %.
This is NOT exactly what I would call decentralization. It sounds just like a little community coin of a 100 people community + plus an uncertain number of people deluded into being part of something BIG which is actually very LITTLE... This type of distribution is more wide spread than you think, doesn't make CLOAK unique: Ether: top 100 addresses control 40% Verge: top 100 addresses control 95% Gnosis, Qtum, and Storj: Top 100 addresses control more than 90% And the list goes on and on... Just the way it goes in most projects. Almost all of the biggest wallets are exchanges. Doesn't take many exchanges to tip the balance of holdings in the top 100.

I actually would like an even stricter Merit system: a system were you need to continuously earn merits to be and stay a certain rank. A system where you are never done earning, because only your last 3-6 months are counted. This would remove a lot of paid spam.
In the past I supported similar ideas, but now I am against them again - the problem is that you always punish honest people with such a system, mostly members who wear signatures which are un-paid, and visit this forum not so frequently. Like most of the Core developers, for example ... The goal of "decaying merits" is obviously to rank-down accounts which achieved a high rank automatically by spamming (via Activity) before the merit system was introduced. That goal can be achieved also by other, less drastic means. As people told me, what is currently being done is that the worst spammers/farmers are (slowly) being banned. So in a couple of months we can expect that only few "farmed Legendaries/Heroes" will be left. I am currently beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel - the usually megathread-dominated "Bitcoin Discussion" subforum seemed, today, a bit more interesting that it used to be in the last months. At least a handful of serious threads at the first page. Maybe it's beginning to work My problem with the current merit system is simple: I was a Hero member, my account was hacked and I had to start all over again since I could not get any help with recovering my account. A week or so away from becoming Hero again and they kick in the Merit system and now I'll most likely never get back to Hero. Just my 2 cents...

Any thoughts on Japan banning the trading of privacy on their exchanges? How might this effect XVG?

Something I've always wondered about Electrum but were too lazy to find out <G> Do you run an Electrum server or are they all third party?

FYI: Warning! Stay away from OctaEx Exchange, looks like they just pulled an exit scam or, possibly a major hack, but the site is still up. If not, then they are the most incompetent exchange operators on the planet and the warning stands. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4421347.0

There is NO way they worked on this for 4 years for it to be a 10 cent coin. When this thing catches momentum it is gonna blow up. I think we are being held back on purpose by others because others see the writing on the wall that DNotes is the Future of Money!!!
DNotes has always strived to be the professional in a sea of amatures, a guiding light as it were, to show others the way. Problem has been DNotes has matured faster than the industry in general and most competing coins as well. That is slowly changing as regulation and gov't oversight make themselves felt withing the space. I bought DNotes the week it was released (and mined thereafter) knowing full well it was a long term investment. Even with the recent setbacks, I have not changed my outlook on the project. Instead of mining, now I'm staking. Either way, I get more DNotes! DNotes will succeed and those with the maturity to hang on will succeed with it. Plenty of other coins to play with and day trade. Keep the faith baby! RJF, thank you for your objective assessment of DNotes and our industry. Come to think about you are one of the few who have (almost) seen it all since the initial stages of our industry and the birth of DNotes over four years ago. You are also one of the very few who have been to Smokeys Gardens and met with the founding team. Here is a little surprise for you to check out: (No official announcement yet – waiting for the most appropriate time.) https://smokeysgardens.com/gallery.php?kw=DNotesThose are beautiful! Nice work. Are you getting all the rain up there that we are getting in East? Everything here is saturated, ground is like walking on a sponge!

I mined to iconomi wallet and send to exchange. no problem exist. never use windows-qt. If you cannot sync just try add node.
thanks, but this I use and have about 15 stable connections for XVG QT wallet. But it sync very slow, when I let it offline for 5-10 days it takes about more 2-3 days for sync. I just wanted to try the electrum wallet but this one is worse - offline and is not able to connect. now, I have just to wait more days for full sync of QT and after that I can sonsolidate my balances and send all out of this wallet. If I don't run the wallet for the amount of time you mention, it takes about 30 minutes to sync. Sounds like something going on on your end. Perhaps antivirus or blocked ports in your firewall? Yery odd... yes I thought it, I tried it on another - test computer, completely clear OS, no antivirus and firewall off, and DMZ for that IP was set in router. Still the same, long sync. Syncing slowly, block by block, often randomly stuck and stay there for 10-20 minutes and go on, this repeats always. So result is hours up to days for fully sync. The only way is to download zip with latest blockchain everytime after days beeing offline + only several hours of syncing after that. As I said, only XVG does this in my system. Other multialgo wallets are syncing well. Rather odd, sorry I can't help you out with the current wallet but, they are rewriting the code, don't know how long that will take. Good luck!

and another issue, as I mentioned: problems with very very long sync of QT wallet... I installed electrum wallet for transfering my XVG from QT. Went through seed verification, set password, and finally got error: wallet is offline. Let it run for 30 minutes and still offline (on 1Gbps connection + static public IP makes). Do you mean it is good? devs? You are not able to handle QT wallet and electrum too. I am really thinking about the dump all my XVG (can say a very big holding now, can see that crypt***a has enough orders in its first 1/3 of listfor me) regardless the my sell price (my profit was really good before). XVG was one of my favourite coins but you have made the piece of sh*t from it for now.
I have to say that the XVG has made me very disappointed and will be better to transfer money to another crypto.
You should stop blaming others for what may well be your own problem. I don't see many (any?) others complaining like this in the forum. I have been running XVG QT wallets for years without major issues. Perhaps you should re-evaluate your own hardware such as available memory, processor load, actual sustained throughput on that "gigabyte" connection, etc. BTW Nobody cares if you dump or not. Statements like that do not help when you are seeking tech support.

New wallet is cool but, really need to allow for changing dimensions. Most of the writing at the bottom is overlapping. (Windows)

Hello CloakCoin believers, Our aim is to add value to the whole crypto community by giving the best user experience to analyse cryptocurrencies. It would be really great help from your side if you can spend 60 seconds of your time and give us your valuable feedback for our two recent updates 1) Snapshot and 2) Colourful interface of CloakCoin at: https://cointopper.com/coin/cloakcoinConstructive criticisms are always welcome at CoinTopper. Thank you!! Nice clean interface, perhaps a little dated but OK for what you are doing. Articles need to be proofed and checked for proper composition if your are going to use English. Found it hard to follow some of them. Good general information on the coin, not too much, not too little. Nice work with a few improvements needed. All in all, a good start, I like it. Good luck!
