341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: February 22, 2018, 08:26:37 PM
I missed some of the news regarding Bitman Sia ASICs. Is Sia modifying the code to block them, or are Obelisk owners now going to see lower returns due to Bitman beating to the finish line?

Sia is not modifying the code to block them, and decided they would only do so if ASIC decided to harm the network with say a 51% attack. So yes, this will mean lower rewards on the Obelisk.
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: February 22, 2018, 08:24:04 PM
Can someone tell what was the motive behind rebeanding lisk? Was the old brand a bad omen? Do lisk think that rebranding like rai will take it to the moon.

Many thought the old logo was a bit amateurish. Also, some thought it was important to market their vision in a professional way. Some thought this is what they needed to get Neo like gains. While I thought they could use a new logo, I never thought re-branding would make the price explode. What will really drive the price is a working SDK. The team seems sharp and hard-working. I am patient and will give them time to deliver the goods.
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | NEO Smart Economy⚡Now a Top 10 Cryptocurrency⚡| Official Thread |Updated Aug10 on: February 21, 2018, 06:53:34 PM
Hi guys,

I have a question that probably was answer before, I was acumulating GAS in my NEO wallet some months without claim it, and yesterday I transfered some NEO to an exchange and today when I open the Neo gas Claim window looks like I have lost all the GAS that I was accumulating. Basically If had 4 Gas avalaible to claim, now I have 0,00xxx.

Is possible that I lost my GAS if I have transferred some NEO to an exchange and didn't claim it before?

Thanks

All the GAS accumulated should be associate with that wallet address. Make sure your wallet is fully synced. To be sure, check all your unclaimed GAS on the block explorer: https://neotracker.io/address/YOUR-NEO-WALLET-ADDRESS
344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: February 21, 2018, 11:23:22 AM
Should I continue to hold Komodo?  I also have blocknet but I see komodo down 30% in the last 28 days and Block is up 30% in same time?  But I still think both are the future.

You will get pretty biased answers on this question, as most on this thread are true KMD believers. The long term for KMD looks very bright, so I would HODL it!

346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ARDOR | Scalable Blockchain-as-a-Service Platform | Proof of Stake on: February 20, 2018, 06:23:32 PM
I heard that ARDOR want to add in the near future on Binance. Is that true?

Yes, they held a fundraiser to get it listed, and met their goal, so hopefully soon. Read about it here: http://www.ardornxt.group/community-funded-projects
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: February 20, 2018, 11:37:30 AM
Can we create list of exchanges that support this Airdrop?

None that I know of have said they will support it, so it looks like an empty list.
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: February 19, 2018, 11:36:55 AM
Is there any information about the launch of masternodes  in SIA?

+1  Smiley
very interested too

There are no plans for this.
349  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Will people pay taxes for bitcoin ? on: February 19, 2018, 11:32:44 AM
Let the taxes' enthusiasts pay it. You just need to say for what public services Crypto taxes are going and I will make sure I won't use them, Ok?  Cheesy

Easier said than done. Every exchange or service that you have used in the past year(s), has a complete log of all your crypto activities that at some point may be used against you. If you have verified yourself on whatever exchange, and the government raids that exchange, or forces exchanges to submit all their user information due to new regulations, you'll be on the wrong side of the road for sure, if you haven't paid your due taxes. Even holding crypto on an exchange without actually doing anything with it requires paying tax. All centralized services are a plague when it comes to maintaining a private identity in this market.

It's amazing how many think they will get away without paying taxes. I think most of these types are probably 18 year old with $1,000 accounts so they will be OK. I think the hammer will come down some day and they will see the truth.
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Matchpool GUPPY [GUP] Price Speculation on: February 19, 2018, 11:25:52 AM
now we need to see the results of the improvements and have an impact on the price. we're out of patience. investors are waiting for.

You mean you are out of patience, many hold for the long term, and don't worry as long as the devs are showing some progress.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: February 18, 2018, 06:09:23 PM
Hi! I'm just looking at DEcred as a whole. How do they intend to identify themselves as they continue to grow?
I'm thinking with the limited supply and also the fact that most supply will be tired up in tickets at any one time, that it'll be a store of wealth coin.

Yes I think a store of wealth. The Decred team is made up of ex bitcoin coders that got frustrated with the drama and lack of progress with BTC. They built Decred to be what they wish bitcoin would be, as some else wrote:

Only project with functional on-chain governance. Did the first ever on-chain user activated hard fork.

Everyone says this, but fantastic devs. Ours include the developers of btcsuite, & also the author of the atomic swap code used by btc and ltc recently.

Unique hybrid PoS/PoW system that is extremely resilient to attacks. Making a 51% attack extremely difficult & a minority hard fork nearly impossible for example.

Direct PoS. No masternodes or DPoS where you will inevitably run into issues like the "Lisk elite"

The project is relatively young, just over 2 years since launch. So it's still getting in early.

Great, active community, that is distributed pretty evenly around the world.

Big war chest in the community treasury (something like $30-40 million currently).

Support from many influential community members including Charlie Lee & Jimmy Song.

At least 2 competing ASICs coming out next year... should be an indicator of where some see this project going.

Also, initial distribution. I'd argue that Decred had one of the fairest distributions in crypto. Decred founders started with 4% of total supply (which they paid for w/ cash into the community fund) and airdropped another 4% to crypto community members. The PoS % of new DCR is purposefilly set low so the relative power of holders decreases, not increases, over time. Compare to today where it seems like 90% of projects are totally premined with the founders starting with the majority or all of the tokens that will ever exist.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: February 15, 2018, 11:24:22 AM
What happened whit ETC  Huh Value has remarkable decreased since yesterday... I think it was due bitcoin increase but other coins have kept the value...  Roll Eyes

I see it as down only 2% in 24 hours in USD terms, but up 69% for 7 days, so not too bad. It is normal for a pause after a big run.
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RADS] Radium - Bringing Advanced Utility to the Blockchain on: February 14, 2018, 11:18:44 AM
Update from devs for week of 2/11/18

Preparations for the 1.5 hardfork continue; minor but important details are being resolved as we get ever closer to rollout.
On the ConceptCrypt side, we’ve updated the graphics on the website to be more appealing, and the marketing team has begun searching for partners in our efforts to bring CC’s functionality to end-users such as graphic designers, musicians, and photographers. We’re also beginning a relationship with a small business advising firm to aid in the development of our business and marketing strategies.
https://twitter.com/RadiumCore/status/963201019659341825

Also some clarification regarding reward reduction:

According to current specifications here - https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Radium_Core/Blockchain_Specifications
RADS reward will drop to 0.25 approx in a week on 21 Feb.
Recently devs raised an idea to hold 0.5 reward for more long time due to low inflating rate in RADS and upcoming HF would have to prevent this drop to 0.25. But as HF was postponed, we still will see 0.25 next week.
After HF it will restore to 0.5 again and will stay at this level about next 2 years and then drops to 0.25 approx in 2020y.
That's the plan, I suppose devs will post some official statement for that, so stay tuned and don't be confused when you see 0.25 soon, it's temporary untill HF.

So do you need to be running the 1.5 wallet for the HF?
354  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Will people pay taxes for bitcoin ? on: February 14, 2018, 11:16:36 AM
Bitcoins itself could not be taxed because it is not regulated by central banks,it is a virtual currency working on its own. Unlike fiat money which is governed by the rules in the central banks and government, but even though its is not taxable, the way we spend our earnings is already being taxed. Like buying goods and services, taxes are already imposed in everything we pay.

Well if your government says they are taxable, then it can be regulated and taxed like in the US. The government can require exchanges to send user trade data at some point in the future. When you cash out to fiat the gov will want to know the source.
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: February 13, 2018, 06:41:42 PM
Hello,
banks do not like bitcoin (eg goldman sachs) and often say that all cryptocurrencies will go to 0.
But factom works with banks ... .. how can they say that it is worth nothing while they themselves are also busy with bitcoin (factom)?
Sometimes I think…. is factom much smaller than I think. probably goldman sachs is not a client from factom because they dont believe in bitcoin.
I have my factoids for more than 2 years and every time I think ....now there is news... but every time nothing really official.
Am afraid that m3 delays and all energy goes there and before you know it we are one year further.
You never read anything about factom on other cryptosites, about good investments 2018.
it is really a passive investment.
Maybe I dont fully understand this protocol and the price will be like this for years to come?
Starting to give up holding.
Hope to hear something great in the very short term ........

It is only when holders get board and all leave that the price will take off. Unlike many coins out there with just a white paper, this one has real deals and revenue. Sell at your own risk, the cream will rise to the top eventually.
356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: February 13, 2018, 06:39:26 PM
SIA falls due to problems with Poloniex !
SIA falls because of asik A3 !

SIA will grow if it is added to all exchanges and will be traded not only to bitcoin but also to the dollar!!! it is enough to add millet to many exchanges and its capitalization is confident that it will exceed 4 billion, and we will see an increase of 15 billion.
sorry if misspelled, I use a translator

You better find a better translator, I can only guess on your intention of this message.
357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: February 13, 2018, 06:29:39 PM
I'm assuming the potential rewards from here on will mean the vast majority of nodes will have similar specs and be managed pretty well, and the pools will punish operators who run unreliable nodes. Too much money on the table now!

I agree, notaries will be be professionally managed, @ 50USD the KMD marketcap is still only 5bil USD, and that yields 75K USD per month for each notary. I expect this by Q1 2019.

I predict we'll go over 25 USD later this year myself, so around 10k per month by Xmas this year.

Payout ratio is where the majority of competition will be, plus who has good profile. If KMD's version of andreas antonopolous ran a node he'd get elected with zero payout to voters, but for less visible guys we can only go by what they offer.

This election will be cool, getting popcorn ready Smiley

Edit, I decided not to run this year, will try and bone up on Linux and think about 2019

25 USD? You missed something, let me correct you.

2,5 USD
OH yes because you're such a good troll. Lol people don't give up.

Oh, I thought they meant $2,500
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | NEO Smart Economy⚡Now a Top 10 Cryptocurrency⚡| Official Thread |Updated Aug10 on: February 13, 2018, 11:19:55 AM
Is there any non-staking/gas-producing wallet for NEO (besides Exchanges, which are to unsafe of course)?

It's ironic, but I don't want it to produce GAS (tax laws in my country are the reason).

and how should your government know that you generate gas^^? if you dont tell them they will never know it.

when i double click on one transaction i made i get a internet popup to https://www.antchain.xyz/tx/hash/2abdea6b80c34892781a444913f27bb985b97bc90c51f564af6c62d1cf3facf8 but this site is not working. is this a bug or do i need to update my wallet?

When you exchange your GAS for fiat the government will want to know when it was acquired. I would not recommend trying to cheat the gov. You are setting yourself up for a world of hurt.

Bye KOMODO team, I hope you will atomic swap your ass with mouth.

Alright, I must admit... I got a big 'ol chuckle out of this.

Yea me too, but good riddance to people like this.

What is yours capitalization? Im really interested in investing in your project! Can you give me your website?

Mr. Senior Member, seriously? Why you don't open Coinmarketcap and get everything you want in just a few seconds: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/neo/
Haha. I was thinking the exact same thing. How can one be this active and not know about CoinMarketCap? Maybe he is an old member returning?  Undecided

Likely a hacked account. Expect the spam to start at some point.
