361  Economy / Lending / Re: Need $1.50 Paypal short term loan on: July 23, 2014, 11:43:27 AM
Understandable. I'm not a scammer although it may seem like it since I'm a newbie. I sell on eBay all the time my PayPal is linked to my eBay if that helps some.

That doesn't help at all you should talk to friends and family and see if they will lend you this money because it is only a small amount.
362  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTB] Canadian Gift Cards on: July 23, 2014, 11:42:09 AM
Are you using escrow? I know that your trust isn't really based on trading but it is based on you (maybe) lying.
363  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin ever reach $1000 dollars again? on: July 23, 2014, 11:38:02 AM
its not going down for 500$ per 1btcso basically there is still a chance but instead of dreaming that it could reach 1k why not focusing on not to drop it again to nearly 300$

I would say there is a 90% chance that we reach 1k $$ again there is to much demand for it to not reach that amount.
364  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: July 23, 2014, 11:36:08 AM
Are you his/her mother ?

Where should we go to?
Also important who do we bring with us and why?

365  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk phishing scam! on: July 23, 2014, 11:35:17 AM
I only use this email addy on this site and I have been getting heaps of virus, spam, phishing emails.
The site has been hacked a few times but Theymos swears the hacker could not of gotten the email list, even though they had access to the backend for like 6 months........... Interesting ay.

How come they got your e-mail?

The email addresses must of got leaked if this is the only place you use the email and are getting Bitcoin spam and virus emails.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum questions. Can Bitcoin do these things too, with implemenation? on: July 23, 2014, 11:33:45 AM
Can't see this project getting very far if that is the case this had to much hype and now the cracks are starting to appear.
367  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi, I'm new to the BTC scene on: July 23, 2014, 11:31:09 AM
Stocks are risky too. We don't know what future brings, just hope for the best.

You should look at recent charts to get a better understanding of the stocks but yes you are right its a risky business but if it pays off if pays off big time.
368  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free electricity but no free Internet... Should I still mine? on: July 23, 2014, 11:30:11 AM
Get a job and invest in proper mining equipment if you want a chance in making some profit from mining its so hard to get into mining these days you need a lot of cash to begin with.
369  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Paypal -> BTC on: July 23, 2014, 11:29:05 AM
Anyone with a brain should never sell Bitcoin for paypal so OP you will have to find another way to buy Bitcoin as the risk of charge back is to high.

371  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many of you use reddit? on: July 23, 2014, 10:40:27 AM
I read over reddit but don't have an active account there anymore I never posted on the account that I did register and it's around 1-2 years old now.
372  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Armory or Electrum? on: July 22, 2014, 09:02:25 PM
I prefer Electrum - I am not technical at all and find it much more intuitive to use

It's a lot more user friendly and faster to run than most of the other trusted wallets but it's not the best option for security but having said that you can create a paper wallet on there.
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How big do you think the Crypto bubble will get? Compared to internet bubble? on: July 22, 2014, 07:02:27 PM
$25k to $50k per coin is as far as I allow my imagination to take me
I agree that some of the more optimistic scenarios are a real stretch of one's imagination

I still can't imagine it going that high. I think I could accept it going to $5k-10 but don't think it could go any higher than that.
374  Other / Off-topic / Re: Harry Potter Vs Lord of the Rings on: July 22, 2014, 06:56:51 PM
What? how can you even compare these? they are on total different subjects and also total different levels. Lord of the rings out classes harry potter by a large margin.
375  Other / Off-topic / Re: 17 Year Old vs 34 Year Old. Who Ya Got? on: July 22, 2014, 06:31:19 PM
well that paid off , i mean those hours paid off. Little guy is fearless, which is the most important factor in fights i guess. But don't ever fight.

Why not?

Not fighting on the part of Bitcoiners is why BFL is getting away with ass raping half the world!

I agree that putting up a fight is good in some cases but in others it just makes the situation worse not in BFL terms though they really are taking advantage of the Bitcoin community.

/ontopic I'm really thought the old guy would of beat this kid at the start of the video how wrong was I? do you think the 34 yr old was holding back?
376  Other / Off-topic / Re: What System You Use on: July 22, 2014, 06:27:30 PM

I don't think that is the only reason. But I have to admit that comparing it to windows 8 in performance and resource wise then windows 8 tops it. it has a little faster start up times and shut down times and makes use of hyper-V. it's pretty lightweight compared to Windows 7. but it does get some getting used to and that's why I think I hated it they changed a perfectly good design which everyone liked and turned it into a tablet theme.

my previous comments I was comparing Windows 8 to a Linux distribution and that's why I was saying windows 8 was poor. because any Linux system even old Linux systems will beat any windows operating system hands down.

But if we want to compare windows 8 and windows 7 then windows 8 does have a few extra features and an annoying interface which takes a long time getting used too (I couldn't get used to it at my workplace)

But I don't see any major improvements that would out rank windows 7. Windows 7 is good and with a few tweaks you could make it perform just as well or even better than windows 8. I just don't see why people would pay more money for a windows 8 operating system when it's pretty much the same as windows 7.

Okay, I will agree with you there.  Linux will crush any PC and most Macs for that matter.  It is clearly the best OS without question.

I don't mind the interface, the start menu(screen) is a lot more customize-able than anything before it, the screen is larger and you can control how big the items are.

As far as purchasing a windows 8 versus 7, I didn't mean that.  I just am saying that if you happen to purchase a windows 8 machine or 7, it doesn't really matter, they are very close in terms of speed and reliability.  I would not purchase windows 8 if I just had a copy of 7 because it simply isn't worth it!

We've reached an agreement then! (sorry if I sounded like a complete moron) I was trying to argue and present my point why I didn't like windows 8 at my old job because I'm used to using Ubuntu and other Linux distributions. But after reading my replies I didn't clearly state that and went on and on about the same thing without explaining my self.
377  Other / Off-topic / Re: I got an email from the FBI!!! on: July 22, 2014, 06:15:33 PM
What a pathetic attempt. if anyone does fall for this they don't deserve to be allowed any where near a computer.
If they send out the mail to 1000 bitcoin users they will surely get at least 10-50 users who might download it.
I hope OP reported that mail to Gmail as Phishing mail and blocked that particular mailing address.

I don't think they would get over 10 users to be honest. It's a silly attempt and most Bitcoin users are aware of phishing attempts and know that you should never download anything from a unknown source.
378  Other / Off-topic / Re: What System You Use on: July 22, 2014, 05:56:39 PM
When you're talking about Windows 8, are you talking about Windows 8 per se, or also include Windows 8.1? I've kind of stopped following the whole thing, but I hear that Windows 8.1 is the Windows 7 to Vista  Grin

I think you heard wrong....From what I heard Windows 8 was not the greatest, and 8.1 and 8.1 with update are extremely great.  It wasn't that 8 was just terrible.  It was a few features were missing to make it look better, which 8.1 and 8.1 with update fixed.

As far as the OS goes, they are probably slightly better than 7 and people just hate it because of the start menu disapearing(even though they just made the start menu a big table screen instead)

Only time will tell I guess but Bitcoin has a big expectation by a lot of people and I'm not quite sure that it will live up to those expectations. but like I said only time will tell.
