1108  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Does coindesk.com write for payment? on: February 18, 2014, 11:08:33 PM
It doesn't matter if:

the company gets paid by the people they are writing about,
the company accepts advertise from the people they are writing about,
the company doesn't accept money from the people they are writing about,
the company doesn't accept money at all,
the company is for profit,
the company is not for profit,
the company is losing money,
the people who work for the company get paid by the people they are doing the story on,
the people who work for the company are salaried reporters,
the people who work for the company are freelance reporters,
the people who work for the company give their info from various sources (news feeds, etc ...)
etc ...

if the person reading the story reads the stories with a degree of intelligence.

Have you seen some of their articles it's very biased and obvious they are recieving money to advertise services.
1109  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 1 BTC Loan (UK Escrow to hold Collateral) on: February 18, 2014, 11:07:33 PM
Does the 16 coins add up to the amount of 1 Bitcoin? I'm unfamilar with silver.
1110  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: POTENTIAL TO JOIN A TEAM TO CREATE THE FUTURE OF CRYPTOCURRENCY (Not a new coin) on: February 18, 2014, 11:05:45 PM

Was this a genuine bug in the person's software?

Probably experimenting with raw outputs and made a few mistakes and sent a lot of transactions on accident.
1112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I made a physical 8Bit Bitcoin (8Bit-coin) for fun, just wanted to share :) on: February 18, 2014, 11:03:22 PM
Thank you. It was just for fun.

If there's enough interest, I may consider making some more. For now these are just for my personal stash and to help get some friends involved in the revolution. Cheesy

I'm sure there will be interest because that is the style of most Bitcoin people I think.
1113  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Status on mtgox? on: February 18, 2014, 11:01:41 PM
I thought I read somewhere that withdrawals were supposed to resume around then, but I am not sure.   They definitely don't always go with what they say in their press releases...

Hopefully they will and people will just take their money and leave mt gox for good they have lost my business for sure.
1114  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Does coindesk.com write for payment? on: February 18, 2014, 10:58:41 PM
Yes we I think they get paid by certain companies to support/advertise them in their threads and I find coindesk to be misleading and don't read it often.

I agree, it would totally make sense for the bigger players in the industry to pay the most visited BTC news websites to post positive info about their company.  Sucks that the news we receive is so convoluted, but that seems to be the case with any kind of news these days.   You can never really 100% trust what you read...

Everyone seems to link to coindesk and think what they have read is 100% true but they normally get things wrong and say misleading things and have been called out on it a few times.
1115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock-nears-a-total-of-1m-in-Bitcoin-purchases on: February 18, 2014, 10:57:07 PM
I didn't know they accepted Bitcoin as a payment just because of that I will go and buy some things from them.
1116  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Does coindesk.com write for payment? on: February 18, 2014, 10:54:24 PM
They sometimes note it when an editor is a co-owner of a mentioned company.

They shouldn't be allowed to post articles aboout companies they are in thats just stupid they are going to praise it.

1118  Economy / Service Discussion / Status on mtgox? on: February 18, 2014, 10:48:45 PM
