The Crypti node being Node.JS based, is cross-platform out of box and can run everywhere, the tricky part is building the node-gyp and native code on Windows. That why we looking to wrap it in easy to use cross-platform Docker.

That said, Mac being Unix-based should work too, I will check with Boris if we can post instructions for it as well.

You will need to register a merchant account in the web wallet, and pass the automated validation procedure.

After the launch we will do a real-life validation with CoinsSource.

We just received the final balance from Bter, and it matches with our own numbers.

Therefore we can proceed with genesis block distribution, mainnet launch and making the release Crypti nodes available for download.

As I've explained, there is nothing that prevents from you to compile the Node native libs on Windows/Mac and have a Windows/Mac Node - we just looking to make this process simpler for the users.

As per the plain text password in the config file - this what the sending second pass phrase feature is intended to protect against. Even if any virus/trojan (or "we") manage to get the password from the config file, then only thing the attacker will be able to do is to login in the wallet under your account. They will still need the second pass phrase to do send funds or do any other operations.


That said, I can understand the concern about keeping a plain text password in the config file, and will discuss with Boris how it can be improved.

We will release a Linux node first (same version to be used by Bter), Windows and Mac cross-platform versions are expected to be available later during the weekend, once we migrate them to boot2docker.

We look to avoid having this process, and use boot2docker for a same version across all the major platforms.

We have mentioned several times that we will receive the funds from Bter and Maxmint only after the mainnet launched and the Crypti is available for public.
That's the meaning of escrow.

The code will be available on a quarterly fashion.

Status update

We have completed the mainnet package and the genesis block, however have discovered a discrepancy with Bter data during a re-check.
Currently we are looking for Bter technical team to start their work-day, so we could check with them and confirm their portion of genesis, then proceed with the mainnet launch.

Bter update

Bter has finished testing the testnet operations and has green-lit the switch to mainnet (with some minor remarks).

We are now preparing the mainnet package for Bter and for public download, and will post both here and in our blog once it released.

We are in constant contact with Bter, and know they are testing the integration before they will be ready to switch to the mainnet.

Once we hear their confirmation, we will post an update here as well.

As said before, the schedule depends on Bter integration confirmation, which we are looking towards as well.
