361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a Fake Bitcoin? on: August 17, 2020, 03:45:25 PM
It's possible for real money. What we use for our daily expenses. But the coin we can't touch and only visible in virtual life that can't be copied or something.Only the name can be copied or the people can be fake but the fake bitcoin  will not be added to your main wallet.

Cryptocurrency in India is not prohibited and as we all know banks don't want cryptocurrency to exists.Because if they do there transaction with crypto it will be a loss for them.So it’s  better to use crypto with out giving bank any information about it.so they cant freeze  bank accounts.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: United Nation Expert admit Digital Currencies Could Replace Bank Accounts on: August 14, 2020, 09:31:58 AM

364  Other / Politics & Society / Why is Africa stuck in the stone age? on: December 18, 2014, 12:11:52 PM
This is not meant to be an offensive post, I am genuinely curious as to why Africa is so far behind the rest of the world.

The Roman Empire had running water, amenities, reliable shelter and clothing for its entire populace 2,000 years ago. 2,000 FRIGGIN YEARS AGO. They created art, sculptures, vast architecture using 2,000 YEAR OLD technology yet if you go to a random area in Africa, it is plagued by poverty, destitution and just overall squalor.

Why is Africa 2000+ years behind the rest of the world and what can be done to correct this??
365  Other / Politics & Society / Sony Pictures cancels James Franco movie "The Interview" due to death threats on: December 18, 2014, 02:54:56 AM
http://deadline.com/2014/12/sony-scraps-the-interview-1201328639/

This sets one of the worse precedents if you ask me. Need a movie or any other media removed? Just call in a death threat. Who says we don't give in to terrorism?
366  Other / Off-topic / Re: Iphone or Samsung on: December 17, 2014, 04:38:36 AM
I have an HTC One M8 personally. Has been a blast to use so far and has a really really good low light camera. Not a big fan of Apple or the Iphones but I played around with a friend's 6+ for a bit and liked a camera a lot. Gotta give it to the for making a good camera phone despite the inferior overall specs compared to Android smartphones.
367  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does torture work? on: December 17, 2014, 04:26:38 AM
Every time this topic comes up I like to think of the Batman quote;

Batman: I'm no executioner.

Ra's al Ghul: Your compassion is a weakness your enemies will not share.

Batman: That's why it's so important. It separates us from them.

Political activism hidden in Batman comics? Sounds like my cup of tea.
368  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you bought something that you regret? on: December 16, 2014, 07:17:45 AM
I bought a used bike from the classified section of my uni. The bike was a marin larkspur that had so many problems with it I ended up just giving up on it. I'd already sank $150 into it when it was only worth $80 max. This was before I knew anything about bikes but I still kick myself in the balls cause I should've known better.

Ever go meet someone to buy something and you buy it just because you don't want to embarrass yourself? Yeah, that's what I did. Learned big time from it.
369  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst Movies You Have Ever Watched on: December 16, 2014, 07:14:34 AM
Probably "The Room" with Tommy Wisseau.

It's actually one of those "good" bad movies. One where you can watch with some buddies with the same sense of humor to get a laugh or two. Other than that I really wouldn't recommend it.

370  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How would world politics change if everyone on earth became immortal? on: December 15, 2014, 07:47:38 AM
That is an interesting question but total immortality or biologicial immortalty.
The biggest crime would not be murder but confinement because their immortal.

I'm sure that science would progress at exponential rates since people would not die off, so we would send off all the crazys to colonize the solar system (just like Australia and its criminals)

Politicans would be immortal so not sure how the heck that would work old blood or new blood  George Bush in the same room as a Barack Obama, might get some interesting discussion if we had a 100 presidents a ways into the future all discussing politics.

And no politican assinations so my answer is Crazy things would happen, the monarchy if it was 200 years ago may be strong still and we would have wars but it couldn't be conclusive.
Infinite ISIS soldiers spawing vs immortal soldiers from the US in Iraq.

(Think I just thought up a hollywood movie lol)

Thanks for your input. I enjoyed the read. Let's say for the sake of discussion that everyone becomes biologically immortal. No one dies of old age anymore. (Technically nobody dies of old age at the moment, but from other factors like disease taking advantage of a weakened immune system)
371  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Education Programming 101: Destroy Logic on: December 15, 2014, 07:42:59 AM
Teaching and the education system has been de-railed. Schools don't teach for the sake of teaching anymore, they teach kids to take pointless standardized tests that basically have nothing to do with what their jobs entail in the real world. I would know because what I do at my job now has nothing to do with what standardized tests have taught me.

Critically thinking is put to the wayside in school nowadays. How do you expect children to think for themselves when all they learn are a series of regimented classes and practice sessions with little or no wiggle room for creativity.

I can't even begin to describe the woeful absence of financial advice I'd never received from school. Why are no "doing your taxes" classes offered when it is a fact of life for every single person in the U.S.?

I could go on and on and on about the series misteps in the U.S. educational system but I am depressing myself thinking about it.
372  Other / Politics & Society / How would world politics change if everyone on earth became immortal? on: December 15, 2014, 07:33:12 AM
I was just watching a TED talk the other day about pro-longing human life and this simple question was brought up in my head.

If every single human alive now suddenly had the ability to live forever, how would this change politics on a global scale? How about in the U.S. specifically? What would be the most "responsible" thing to do? Voluntarily die after you reach a certain age as to not cause a burden on society? How would those in power handle this?
373  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Martial Law Mind-Set on: December 15, 2014, 07:25:52 AM
Martial Law in the U.S. takes place all the time. You hear it in the news all the time as well. You guys may hear about it as a governor or any other government official calling it a "State of Emergency". When the boston bombing took place, the police raided dozens upon dozens of homes without a warrant. That's basically martial law but under the guise of something else.
374  Other / Off-topic / What is the coolest thing you can buy on Amazon for under $20? on: December 15, 2014, 06:10:16 AM
Trying to gather some ideas for this year's gift exchange at work. The limit's $20 so anything at that value's fair game. The company has a fairly laid back atmosphere so gag gifts are open season for me. I'd like to get somebody something they could use on the daily preferably. Maybe like a survival kit or a knife.
375  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best Cartoon Ever? on: December 15, 2014, 06:02:51 AM
Ninja turtles was pretty cool back in the day but i would have to vote Family Guy number 1.

+1 for 90's Ninja Turtles cartoons back in the day. I don't know what they're showing now but I'm kind of wary of looking because of all the crap they show to kids nowadays. 90's Transformers were pretty damn good too, I remember waking up at 6 am as a kid to watch that on UPN or whatever that channel was.

Some honorable mentions; Alvin and the Chipmunks, Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles, Magic School Bus
376  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where should a Freelancer go? on: December 14, 2014, 07:51:10 AM
Sorry for the bump.

Still kind of wondering if there are anymore recommendations?

I'm in a similar situation. About to graduate from Uni and I'll have a while until I take the GRE for grad school. I was thinking of Phuket, Thailand myself but still open to suggestions. It's a little bit different for me because I could do a little work while abroad so I won't make much of a financial dent.

Considering traveling and backpacking SE Asia because it's extremely cheap there. Best to go with a buddy though I hear.
377  Other / Off-topic / Re: What watch do you wear? on: December 14, 2014, 06:44:14 AM
I haven't worn a watch since middle school. Just feels cumbersome and bothersome to have it around my wrist for some reason. I just check my phone nowadays if I need the time. I think that's what everyone does these days but I could be wrong.

Those new smart-watches look promising though. I'm about to look into what those babies can do.
378  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is reddit so popular? on: December 14, 2014, 06:41:03 AM
I personally really like the interface. Simple to use and customize. Lots of subreddits for any topic you can think of really.

I've received help on my physics homework on /r/askscience, learned how to buff out scratches on my car from /r/autodetailing, learned about bitcoin from /r/bitcoinmarkets, gotten some sound advice on a business model on /r/entrepreneur, got help on building credit on /r/personalfinance just to name a few.

I guess you don't like it much because you haven't really done anything productive with it. But once you have it's great.
379  Other / Politics & Society / Re: One of those times when it's OK to laugh at atheists. on: December 14, 2014, 06:30:21 AM
Now that's just silly. Don't patronize the diner if you don't like their rules. Why draw attention to atheists on a bad note like this? Retarded reasoning to sue if ya ask me.
380  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How to make a career fit a relationship before having a relationship? on: December 14, 2014, 06:25:24 AM
The key to a successful relationship is compromise in my opinion. Even if you find the perfect soul mate, in one way or another you guys will have things you won't agree on. That's the make or break point. One of you has to agree to disagree and put up with the other. This was one thing I learned after my 3rd girlfriend. I didn't compromise for her and it broke us up. Completely my fault. I learned from it though and I'm doing a million times better in my 4th relationship.
