361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin looking like sleeping gigant in this bull run season on: October 30, 2023, 11:31:51 AM
I am still down with LTC, I got mine at $80 per piece and still waiting for the pump to happen. I did expect it to make an upward run after Bitcoin did or during the time it was climbing up but not much really happened. It only gained $3 - $4 which was not decent enough to take back the losses that happened mid-August of this year.
I can not say what will be a next top of Litecoin in 2024 and 2025 bull run for altcoin market but I believe its price will be higher than today price. If you sell your Litecoin today, you have considerable loss from your entry at $80. Fortunately if you hold your Litecoin till next year or next two years, I believe you will not only see $80 price but much higher price than that. Then you will have chance to take profit, no loss at all.

Hold your Litecoin.

Quote
But I am not giving up on this yet, I will patiently wait for its return and I think it can possibly be dragged up when the BTC ETF is approved. Litecoin is still used in a lot of places, especially in the gambling industry. So yes, I will probably just wait longer but it will be a fruitful one at the right time.
Well, it's not like there are good choices of coins out there. I think Litecoin is still one of the best.
Litecoin is one of oldest and strongest altcoins and it was in Grayscale list of their invested cryptocurrencies too.

362  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A bad practice that cost a friend everything. on: October 29, 2023, 10:59:00 AM
A friend lost all his Ethereum and tokens two days ago and it came to my attention, this is someone who I shared some tips about crypto wallets with some past months ago, I made sure he generate the new wallet offline and he wrote his recovery seed down, though I was not there with him, we are having the conversation online.

So I was like how the hell he managed to lost his recovery seed to hackers or scammers, he started swearing that he is damn sure he did nothing wrong, and we meet today, looking into his phone and my mind was on the phone, thinking maybe he rooted the phone or something, then I stumbled on his recovery seed been screenshot, that was when I knew he messed up.
From being taught to write down seed words to screenshot it, it is a very big different in practice. You did not make any fault in your advice to your friend but perhaps you can do it better next time to other friends.

"Write down your seed, store it offline physically. Don't make screenshot and store it in a device you use Internet daily because it is like storing your seed backup online."

Tell your friends to read this guide.
How to back up a seed phrase?.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin looking like sleeping gigant in this bull run season on: October 29, 2023, 10:53:41 AM
I had booked some decent gains in the LTC before its halving rally
Litecoin increased from under $60 to nearly $120 before its halving but after the halving months ago, it dropped deep enough and today its price is not too much higher than before its mini bull run before halving.

I still consider Litecoin as one of my favorite altcoins for next two years. It is a Proof of Work coin that is safer than smart contract coins.

Quote
but I'm not currently Bullish on it I'd prefer Bitcoin at the current time, still I'm looking for a good time to re-enter the LTC as well we can expect some good return in the coming up market momentum due to the Bitcoins massive moves.
I agree that it is safer to add it in your watch list and spend money in Litecoin in a next year, like around April or May. But in last two months of this year, I think it makes sense if you can take a bit of risk, to invest in Litecoin and speculate profit in last two months of this year. When capital flows out of Bitcoin, it will find other assets among altcoins and Litecoin can be lifted up.
364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 29, 2023, 04:42:26 AM
I have no confidence in Roma's performance. The Roma team is not weak. And this season they are able to play quite well. Roma's performance has been very good especially in the last few matches. However, they are far behind Inter Milan. Inter Milan is a strong team. At the same time they have continued to perform well consistently. I consider Inter Milan as the favorite in this match. I don't think Inter Milan players will make any mistakes against Roma. By securing 3 points in this match they will want to go to the top of the table. Now the top spot in the table is occupied by Juventus. So this match is very important for Inter Milan.
AS Roma are not weak but they don't have a deep player resource so that their performance will be affected a lot if one or two important players have injuries. They hardly to find good players to replace those injured important players. They will not have Dybala for a match with Inter Milan and we know how important Dybala is for AS Roma. Without Dybala, Roma will not have enough creativeness in attacking and their strikers like Lukaku, Belotti, Azmoun will not have enough good passes to make dangerous shots.

I believe Mourinho will let Roma play very defensive in this big match and wait for luckiness from counter attacking. He will not be on the pitch by a red card in the last weekend match.

Napoli vs AS AC Milan

Statistically, Milan is still better than Napoli, at least in terms of the number of points collected in the nine matches they have played. I'm more inclined for this match to end in a draw. Because the performance of both of them is not very promising when they meet fellow big clubs. However, Napoli had the advantage of acting as hosts, Milan was in a crisis of confidence after losing to Juventus and PSG.
Milan and Napoli don't have big difference in their player quality and recent forms. The match will be hosted in Naples and Milan will not have advantage from San Siro stadium. Napoli can take advantage of their home stadium as their twelfth player to beat AC Milan and reduce their gap with AC Milan as well as continue their race with Juventus and Inter Milan.

If Napoli lose the match at home, it's a good proof that they will not be strong enough to defend their Scudetto title.
365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have we seen the lowest low of this bear market? on: October 29, 2023, 04:34:13 AM
What we've seen after FTX, for me, was the bottom. I know bitcoin is always unpredictable and it does exactly the same opposite of what everybody is expecting but right now, between the ETFs and the halving, I really struggle to see how it could go below $15-16k again, we're talking about losing more than 50% from the current value. Maybe we'll go down again to $25-28k, maybe even a little lower, but below $20k I don't know, I don't want to say it's impossible but almost.
Black swan events like Terra and FTX don't usually occur and it's bad to have FTX fiasco only a few months after Terra fiasco. These two fiascos mostly dump Bitcoin to its bottom of the long lasting bear market. I agree with you that low price after FTX fiasco is like a bottom of this bear market already.

I still open with scenario of at least one black swan event or just massive fud to dump Bitcoin market like in 2020 we had it before the halving. I don't know what will be a next tool for market maker to dump the market in first quarter of 2024 before the halving. Because black swan event like Covid-19 which was announced in March 2020 by WHO is very barely seen.

366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a “safe haven asset” on: October 28, 2023, 11:09:58 AM
Take the 2017-2021 market. If you bought anywhere between December 2017 and March 2018 you had a bitcoin worth between 10k and 20k.
Between that and May 2019 you couldn't touch it or you'd take a loss. Imagine that in that period you'd have a financial problem, needed to pay hospital bills, had a house fire, a burglary... You wouldn't be able to use your investment to cover that and you'd be able to come ahead in 2019 only if you bought below 13k because if you were unlucky to buy above that price you'd have to wait until the end of 2020 to come ahead, so 3 years of your assets being frozen.
Only if Bitcoin does not change its history to make a new all time high with each new halving and four-years cycle. It will continue to give us to correct our mistakes of missing good chances to take profit in a previous cycle. If you miss all time high in 2017- 2018, you had many months to sell Bitcoin with price higher than 2017 and 2018 in 2021 to 2022.

I agree with you about money needed for emergency and by this, I agree that we never should spend all money to buy bitcoin. Most important reason is we might have to use it with a market price at loss.
367  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Delisted/Inactive Coins from Exchange on: October 28, 2023, 09:42:23 AM
This is why it would be always important that you should really know on what are the things that needs to check on which i would really be always liking to spot or check their WP and their roadmap.
Their projects are full of promises in White Paper and Roadmap. Roadmaps can be changed many times and I am sure many points in roadmaps will never be completed because many altcoin projects die with time. Their teams only try to polish their roadmap for altcoin degens to speculate and bet with money. Their team members don't lose money to write polishing roadmaps but altcoin degens will lose money if they believe in those roadmaps.

The number has multiplied rapidly between 2020-2021 and the reason for this may be the ease of creating these tokens.
Those tokens were easily created with "smart contracts" that are helpful and powerful tool for developers to deploy scam tokens. Those contracts fail to save altcoin degens who lose money but do those "smart contracts" initially were coded to save investors?

Not, it only created to serve developer teams.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 28, 2023, 04:20:24 AM
I don't have much confidence in Tottenham winning the league this season even though they have managed to remain at the top with five points from the struggling Man City. Tottenham have been known to have pretty good start in most of the season but somehow along the line, they give up too quickly.
They did not have previous good seasons and they are surely not favorite candidate for Premier League trophy. If you knew about Leicester City case seasons ago, when they won Premier League, they will see Tottenham Hotspur are actually better than Leicester City. Better from their ability to end many previous seasons in top range of Premier League. They are not always in top four but usually have high position and they have better player resource, quality than Leicester City.

So I think Tottenham Hotspur can make very big surprise in this season, like Napoli did in Serie A last season. If Leicester City could do it, Tottenham Hotspur can do it as Arsenal are not actually stronger and better than Tottenham. The biggest competitor of Tottenham is Manchester City and we will see how this title race ends.
369  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Delisted/Inactive Coins from Exchange on: October 27, 2023, 02:28:44 PM
Volume transaction isn't the only way to judge if the coin is real, there are many fake and useless shitcoins with high volume transaction, you can check in the top 10 coins in CMC or Coingecko, most of them are shitcoins.

Someone can create a new coin and fund it with big amount of money to pump the coin, after many investors are interested to invest in their project, they can abandon the project and run away with investors money.
I don't agree that a coin is real or not real. If it was created, deployed by developers, it is real. The rest is only it is a quality coin or zero-value coin with no use case, no utility and no one minds to own it.

Trading volume reflects demand in the community and if no trading volume, it means nobody has demand on that coin. Hence, no demand, no price, no value and it will be die even developers don't want to abandon that project. In reality, developers usually abandon their own projects before those projects die. They proactively left their projects when they see no future ahead or they smell that a trend for their projects already gone.

What are some good exchanges allowing fixed monthly investment in BItcoin? I need options where my funds will be secure.
I agree with DaveF's advice. Not your keys not your bitcoins. If you leave your money on exchanges, just because you want to automate your DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging), it's very bad idea and if you actually practice it, it can bring you nightmare.

371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IBTC ticker of Blockrock is still listed on the website on: October 26, 2023, 05:27:19 AM
I don’t think that pump was related to the dtcc listing. It was just a coincidence. The link was being circled hours before bitcoin actually started to pump. And DTCC claims it was there since Aug 2023.

Some large player bought and people afterwards were looking for a reason to explain the pump. And they saw it being retweeted on twitter and assumed it was that reason.
I don't think it is a coincidence but it is a plan that plays well by market makers.

Every time Bitcoin needs to move after technical indicators were bend enough to a point for big movement, news and events like this come out. By that I believe no coincidence at all and market makers do all of these to convince us that Bitcoin has to rise up or has to fall down because of well-planned news.

It was there since August 2023? I am not sure but let me check it with Wayback machine.
Unfortunately, no snapshot in 2023 before October.
The latest snapshot is in October 2022 but it is not what we need as evidence.

If I am correct he goes on the stand tomorrow. He will interesting how he will answer all these questions. He will probably be on the stand for another day because he is considered the most important individual in this trial.
I am not sure what will he say and answer all questions against his scam activities.

Because many days so far, his lawyers admitted all accusations against him and I am so surprising and wondering what are their strategies to defend Sam Bankman-Fried by admitting all accusations like this.

I don't think he will not much things to say to defend himself because it's big different than months ago, now there are more people from FTX and Alameda Research, are accepting to be witnesses against him at the court.

When trading volume falls to small enough, exchanges will considered to de-list those tokens even initially they required listing fees from those projects. No free listings nowadays on most of centralized exchanges for most of projects.

Websites like Coinmarketcap, Coingecko will use data from centralized exchanges to categorize tokens into Normal (tracked listing) with full details or Untracked Listing with limited information.

This project is an untracked listing. For more details on listing tiers, refer to Listings Review Criteria Section B - (3).

374  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much could you earn in a day ? on: October 26, 2023, 01:19:05 AM
1. Is it possible to make 1% on a trade within a short time frame as in a few hours or a day ? Would that also inturn mean that you would make 10% on futures with a 10x leverage? I would like to elaborate more on this i just simply dont know where to begin. It would be nice if i could have a conversation with someone who has experience on the matter.
By using leverage like 3x and above like 10x, you will take bigger risk to be liquidated. With 10x leverage, you are most favorite customers of centralized exchanges because your positions will be liquidated easily by their automated tools and they will get richer by money liquidated from you.

If you set your target like earning a fixed amount of money such as $50 a day from trading, it is a wrong approach already. Because it will cause pressure on you and you will always have to trade daily.

You must know, trading too often will cause you loss because your brain must be fresh, calm to trade successfully and you must trade only if it's good entry to open your position. If you don't see good entry, don't trade even days or weeks.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Michael Saylor talks about Bitcoin, and you WILL be disappointed on: October 25, 2023, 11:30:49 AM
Why would I be disappointed by anything Saylor or anyone like him says? I don't want to go into whether he invested in Bitcoin because he thinks it is something unique and superior, or if he just wants to earn a few billion more dollars (because everything revolves around profit). If today Saylor were to dump all the BTC he bought in the last few years, should that mean we should all sell and forget that Bitcoin even exists?
People can change their minds and businessmen can change their minds very quickly. People who are experienced in financial markets don't publicly tell you what they are doing. When they tell you about that, they already did something before that, secretly and only let you and the crowd know when their plan is mostly done and they want to go to a net phase, hype the market and take profit.

Saylor said many times that he will not sell Bitcoin but is it realistic to believe him?

He and MicroStrategy did not buy Bitcoin like their jewelries and consider Bitcoin as what they will bring down to earth when they die. They bought Bitcoin to take profit, enrich their wealth so they will take profit in future.

I don't use Instagram and I am not aware of their ban against Bitcoin and conversation about Bitcoin. Reading your post, I would like to find announcement from Instagram but I got this Binance feed.

Instagram Bans Bitcoin Posts : New Controversy Unfolds

It happened two weeks ago.
Instagram suspend accounts for posting about Bitcoin.

Only Bitcoin, but still allows shit coins. They did a right thing and great job to block a best cryptocurrency while allows many scam coins on their media platform.
377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blackrock ETF listed on the ticker index… perhaps it’s approved? on: October 25, 2023, 02:42:36 AM
And scroll down to IBTC you will find the Blackrock iShares ETF trust.

So I am guessing since it got an actual ticker…. Perhaps it’s approved.

Along with that false report last week and all this bidding on Coinbase spot it seems someone got this news early.
It is another attempt to heat the market up with early news for Bitcoin Spot ETF approval in the USA. There is no approval for Bitcoin Spot ETF in the USA. and the ticker iBTC is only if that application is approved.

When it will be approved? We don't know.
Will it be approved? We don't know too.

Good news recently is from Hester Pierce, one of SEC staffs under Gensler. She said she is a supporter of Bitcoin and she believes Bitcoin Spot ETF should be approved according to current active laws and regulations. Rejection is only because of Gensler, the SEC chair and if he changes his mind or there is another member votes Yes for Bitcoin Spot ETF, it will be approved.
378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another attempt at Bitcoin ETF..You knew it was coming once BTC raised above ATH on: October 25, 2023, 02:29:10 AM
Hype is like a pandemic, it can easily be contagious, and I bet after the investors bought some Bitcoin they just won't stop anymore.
At least this mistake made a good effect on the value of Bitcoin. Not that I agree with what they have done because it can also be a virus that will be mimicked by other cryptocurrency news services just to boost other cryptocurrencies that they like. It's wrong and somehow right especially if you are one of the Bitcoin investors too.
People never stop reacts emotionally on the market that can not have market waves if people can control their emotion better and if everyone can control their emotion and actions perfectly, market will be very boring.

Because they can not control emotion, the psychology of market cycles still work very well for market markers and whales in any market.

Quote
Now, I am waiting for the whales to dump because Bitcoin ETF is still not approved it will just be the same shit all over again. They won't be scared just yet to manipulate the market. Sorry if I am an early pleasure spoiler. Cheesy
I expect Bitcoin will have significant correction within one week or two weeks because ending week or starting week of each month is very sensitive with big movements.
379  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Genesis Block. Inflation, Israel and Gaza, coincidence? on: October 24, 2023, 02:15:39 PM
Generally speaking, any war can cause the prices of commodities and services to go up for many reasons and on top of the heap is scarcity and the increasing demand, not unless majority of the people in a certain country can be decimated so demand for many stuffs is critically reduced.
War can cause many things as war consequence from politics, army to economics. Wars are unpredictable on how they will end and with what cost after all war processes.

The war of Israel, Hamas in Gaza will be bad because they are located in Middle East that is a hub of oil and any dramatic war in this area will result in rise of oil prices. We know oil can affect many industries and aspects of society in many countries.

Quote
Let's hope the war will not spread, otherwise this can be catastrophic on our end.
Let's hope Israel, Hamas and Iran, USA will not escalate this war from between two nations to area war and many allies will join it.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: October 24, 2023, 04:39:54 AM
I believe Luka Modric will depart soon since he's not getting much playtime in Ancelotti's current tactic. Moving to the Saudi Pro League isn't a bad choice, especially for older players like Modric. It's unrealistic to expect Ancelotti to keep favoring him while neglecting younger talents.
Modric said many times that he want to retire in Real Madrid but this giant club does not have good history to keep old players in their club and give them chances to retire. Some legendary players had to leave Real Madrid like Raul Gonzalez, Iker Casillas, Guti, Marcelo and will Real Madrid give Modric such chance?

Additionally, the growth of Saudi Professional League in the last one year since World Cup 2022 actually makes it more attractive with star players like Luka Modric. If he joins a club in Saudi Arabia, plays there like two seasons and earn salary like 4 or 5 years in Real Madrid or small clubs in Europe, it's worth for Modric to try just two years.

Quote
We can't deny that, given his age and physique, Modric still maintains a strong physical foundation and smart gameplay. Nevertheless, it's about time for him to make way for younger players.
He is still strong and very energetic when he plays. He is technical and smart enough to help his team to quickly change from defensive to attacking and I am sure Modric is still a useful player for many clubs even big clubs in Europe.
