361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The "loaded slots" scam on: January 27, 2024, 06:12:27 AM
If something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. This is the first time I'm hearing about this. I've always heard about so-called insiders about fixed matches, but this is something new. Why would someone sell such a "secret" when he could take full advantage of it? This sounds like the new era of so-called entrepreneurs on social media, boasting about how much money they're making, and they can teach you how to do that too, by paying a "small" subscription or signing-up bonus to justify the "lessons and training" you're about to receive. No way. If I had found the passage to make quick and easy money, I wouldn't share it with anyone.

These scammers never cease to amaze me in finding new ways to earn money.
362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is addiction bad only when it is a problem? on: January 26, 2024, 11:10:26 PM
How about we address the possibility that those who are addicted don't actually admit or recognize who they are? I believe that you're not seeing the bigger picture, but only the surface that they show to the outside world. It all depends on how you define addiction and how it's affecting you in your daily life. What you described doesn't resemble someone who's addicted, unless they're hiding it, like I mentioned earlier. Just because someone is wearing nice clothes or appears to have money doesn't have to be the truth.

If you're able to control it and have balance in your daily life, and it isn't getting in the way of other important things, such as your loved ones or responsibilities, then it shouldn't be an issue.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving effect on: January 26, 2024, 10:35:22 PM
I thought ETF would have made a great impact as of last month being December to elevate the price, like letting it continue the flow but it didn't, is like the price movement was on hold that something was keeping it from getting a little bit closer to $50k.
You're right, if $50k would have been possible since last month the story would have been different and the price market would have been counting $55-60k by now, is not going to be anytime soon ($50-60) before the halving.
I believed that as well; however, the ETF approval anticipation had already increased Bitcoin's price quite significantly, so there's a chance that played its role too. The market grew quite fast in a short timeframe, which may be the reason why we're seeing a little bit of a slowdown. Personally, we should give it some time until we start seeing the effects of the ETF approval. Along with the upcoming halving, Bitcoin is definitely going to cross the $50.000 mark in no time.

The minor market correction is an opportunity to acquire more Bitcoin at a more affordable price before the significant surge we'll see in the upcoming months.

Thank you for your quick reply and for addressing all my questions in detail. I also expected that a large number of scam accusations were due to users trying to take advantage of bonus and casino loopholes. Although it's best not to put everyone in one basket, it's no surprise to me that there are people attempting to manipulate the system. It has probably worked for them in the past,, and they're attempting it again. Anyway, this is an extremely interesting topic. Thank you for being thorough. I enjoyed reading every single question and your reply.
365  Other / Meta / Re: Use of AI on Bitcoin talk on: January 26, 2024, 10:11:53 AM
There are two different things, firstly writing with AI and secondly improving grammar using AI. These two categories are different, but both use AI as a tool. I'm sure many users including moderators don't like the first category and therefore users get their posts deleted and reported, but the second category may still be tolerable even though some other users don't agree with the method.

Many of us are not native English speakers, but our passion for learning and improving grammar sets us apart from each other. The most important thing is that the ideas written are conveyed and can be understood well by other users, if not then local board are suitable for them.
I can't name grammar correctors such as Grammarly or QuillBot as AI, even though both premium versions offer a wide variety of tools to improve your text and its fluency. From what I've noticed, the majority of users who are using AI writing tools are newbies, possibly in an attempt to rank up or appear sophisticated, trying to show off that they know what they're talking about. Moreover, a large number of them think that they're smarter than everyone else, enter a signature campaign, and get away with making money without any effort.

Thankfully, I can't recall seeing any reputable users using them; there are certainly exceptions to this rule, but I believe that the community is generally on the lookout for AI usage, and I've started checking suspicious posts as well, in order to contribute to the AI report thread.
366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To any Bitcoin holder who lost their seed: How did you lose it? on: January 26, 2024, 09:25:35 AM
I've lost quite a few; it's still unknown if any of them had any significant balance, but you get my point. I used to write them in text documents and scatter them on my computer. The majority were lost due to the poor organizational skills of that time. Don't use text documents, and if you write them on paper, don't lose them. I also recall writing on pieces of paper, which were never to be found. However, I did manage to recover a few of them, some of which were empty, and another one had a few mBTC in it. I don't know if this counts as well, but I can confidently say that I've also lost a few wallets, which I remember had some kind of balance on online wallets and services, most of which either shut down or were unable to recover my accounts.

Now that we're talking, I still haven't fully learned my lesson because I'm yet to secure my seed as safe as I'd want it to be. At least, I'm no longer using online wallets.
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: January 26, 2024, 07:27:18 AM
Not a bad idea to introduce him to sports betting but actually, it's out of our business anymore. Playing slots regularly as you noticed, that guy is aware of sports betting but instead, he is focused on playing slots. It means the interest in sports betting is not there.

He will also have a hard time keeping up with the gambling part in sports betting as even how good he is at doing analysis, there are lots of betting options in a certain match and likely, some of his analysis will fall on a not worthy odds to consider. Therefore, he needs to do another analysis again just to be able to ride the preferred odds he wants.
That's what I also believe. As someone with quite limited knowledge about football and sports betting, I tend to go with safer options or known teams in uneven matches, mostly in the Greek Football Super League. I can imagine OP's friend having better luck than I do, due to his extensive knowledge regarding football teams. However, I don't find it necessary to attempt to persuade him into something else; if he enjoys slots, let him be; maybe there's a reason behind why he's not into sports betting. You can simply introduce him to sports betting by showing him how everything works, but nothing more, as you may be held liable if he's to lose any significant amount of money.
368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: AMA: I Operate an Online Casino on: January 25, 2024, 01:26:19 PM
Great subject and initiative to start such a thread. A large number of my questions have already been asked by other users; thus, I'm not going to repeat them. From what I've noticed, only one question is of similar subject but doesn't analyze the same concerns with mine.

We've seen quite a few reports in scam accusations of users claiming that a casino is withholding their earnings. A large number of times, the casinos claim that it was due to a bug that the said user took advantage of, which is the reason their funds were withheld during the withdrawal process. With that being said, how often do you or the casino's users come across such bugs, how do you deal with them, and can you recall if someone managed to get away with abusing one and withdrew his money before the casino realized it? Moreover, is it actually possible to happen, or is it an excuse from some casinos to avoid paying users with questionable earnings?
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They know the truth but they don't want to accept it, publicly on: January 25, 2024, 10:58:10 AM
It's all about the money, what will be the excitement when money is being removed from the equation? I know that it's quite normal that some people will not admit to the fact that they came for the money but it very obvious to everyone that have ever gambles that we actually have no interest in it, if  not  for the money involved.

As I saw this topic, am just trying to imagine what motivating factor that will compel people to still gambles if their is no money in it, I really don't see any, because gambling is all about money.
Indeed, the entertaining part is included in the possibility of making money out of it. There was recently a thread asking if we'd still gamble if money wasn't involved; there wouldn't be a single reason to even consider it if it wasn't providing us with the chance of earning something from it. I believe it goes without saying, and no one is hiding that, as the OP is suggesting. I'm not too confident that we'll actually manage to earn anything decent from gambling; I'm mostly using smaller amounts, so I'm not expecting to become rich overnight, but the thrill and the suspense of the immense possibilities are what get us going.

Have you checked the upcoming matches? There are some promising ones coming up this weekend.

OFI vs. AEK will be quite competitive; I'm curious to see how it progresses. Olympiakos vs. Giannina should be a piece of cake for Olympiakos. I'll have to check the odds on that one; it's an almost guaranteed bet. The rest are quite meh, I wouldn't bother with those, except PAOK with Panathinaikos, a quite tough match, but judging by how PAOK has been performing in the past few matches, I believe that the scale is tilting in their favor.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Launchpool, a possible earning opportunity? on: January 25, 2024, 06:22:47 AM
I didn't participate in the manta farm so I have very little knowledge about how much the rewards were but I have participated in the AltLayer bit and so far so good — BnB and FdUSD that are the two assets used in farming $ALT are down horrendously (even more surprising is that FDUSD depeg). The only way farmers of the AltLayer launchpool can break even is if the price of ALT debuts around 0.45 to 0.8 or possibly $1.
FDUSD's depeg is quite insignificant; we've seen a lot worse. It's not like it's frequently off the $1 peg. A few days ago, it was well over the $1 peg, reaching as much as $1.05. With that being said, I don't think it's something to worry about. Altlayer looks promising; however, I highly doubt we'll see its price anywhere close to $0.45, let alone $1, at least at its listing. I already have almost 200 coins; that would be an insane yield. Imagine that. I guess we'll see in a couple of hours.
well thats just how staking mechanism everywhere you get locked period but that with a reward, i think such staking launchpool in my honest opinion only good where the price was still rather low and bearish, at bullish well its not really good we can be making some grand from staking and we missed opportunity of cashing out our investment and missed tens of grand thats what I mean by missed opportunity by staking, moreover sometime the reward is not that great anyway there are many whales staking their millions for the sake of earning opportunity through binance launchpool and that alone already such a turn off for me thats why im just sticking to trading instead and staking outside the binance platform despite the fact that there might be risk carried by the staking such as contract breach and so on but so far I only staked at reputable platform.
other than that whats really important is that some people that stake in binance should know that sometime the project have allocation for airdrop outside the platform despite being listed in binance and have binance launchpool but sometime they just give some airdrop to their community that has done some testing to the blockchain and so on and the amount even more worth than staking a half million sometime.
I don't think you understand what this topic is about nor if you actually read it. Binance's Launchpool doesn't have a lock-in period, you're unaware of the coin's price till its listing, although you mention something completely different and irrelevant in your post.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Launchpool, a possible earning opportunity? on: January 24, 2024, 09:01:24 PM
Altlayer (ALT) will be listed in less than 24 hours, tomorrow, January 25th, at 10:00 UTC. From a prediction I read, I don't recall where its price is expected to range from $0.15 to $0.30. We'll see how it progresses soon enough. Kudos to any Manta holders out there, as it's currently one of the highest performing coins on Binance, with a 26% positive change in price in the last 24 hours, trending at over $3 per coin. Considering the 2-day farming period during which Manta was available, its yields were quite impressive, as its price has jumped in an extremely short period since it was listed.
373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: January 24, 2024, 01:01:02 PM
How can patience assist in gambling? You're neither investing nor buying a portfolio that requires you to be patient and persistent in order to see the desired results. It won't change your luck or your chances of winning. The only way I could possibly understand how it would help is to not rush your bets in an attempt to increase your earnings. However, that doesn't necessarily require patience, but self-control and not being greedy and reckless.

Other users are mentioning learning: What's there to learn about gambling? Unless we're talking about poker or other card games, I don't understand what you're mentioning.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever regretted selling your bitcoins ? on: January 23, 2024, 10:17:49 PM
This certainly isn't the first time this question has been asked in the forum, but anyway. At some point, we've all sold some bitcoin. It's inevitable; you can't keep holding it forever. I'm not going to regret what I did five or more years ago; it's of no help. I've certainly made some mistakes that could have been avoided or could have been handled better.

The most recent sale of bitcoin I did was in late December 2020 to early January 2021. I sold approximately 0.05 BTC. The sale was somewhat of a failure; I sold too early and pumped in the upcoming few days. I don't regret selling them because I reinvested that money into staking and made a decent profit that's still reinvesting through Binance's Launchpool, but I regret panicking and selling at the wrong moment; had I waited a few more days, I would have sold for a significantly larger amount.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Launchpool, a possible earning opportunity? on: January 22, 2024, 12:39:27 PM
Check this out mate. https://twitter.com/_RichardTeng/status/1748002280895340763?t=Fo5aFut5It_NOwXh8BqKOA&s=19

Id think you definitely reconsider considering the new CEO is on game with the launchpool series. I think this will be continous till the bull run and definitely will not let bnb out of sight for those big projects that will conduct launchpool. Also theres none launchpaf yet since then so probably they are brewing a grand launch for new project that will be out soon.
That's interesting, thanks! It's true that in the past couple of months, Binance has introduced quite a few Launchpool projects. I regret not taking part sooner, to be honest; the first one I participated in was Pendle, and it wasn't for all the 20–25 days it was running.
It is like Staking your Coins anywhere else with low APY. maybe people with large capital really earn good profit from binance launchpool but if you stake only $200 or little bit less or more than you could only earn Around $2 per launchpool round. which is not a good amount.
The only Good thing about Binance launchpool is there is not any risk of losing money because you'll get your funds back in your  account when launchpool end.
Nope, it's not like staking anywhere else with a low APY. The APY on Launchpool projects, although it hasn't been announced, is generally decent and higher than staking USDT or FDUSD. The majority of the projects I've staked were worth it. I made $35 with Manta, and I would have made more if I wasn't at work at the time of its listing. During its two-day farming period, I'd make at most $2 through USDT and BNB staking. The same applies to other projects, such as XAI, Cyber, Neutron, ACE, and plenty of others.
You can stake stablecoins in launchpool. most of the launchpools allow staking FDUSD and TUSDT stablecoins.  and you can't take and sell the tokens earned during launchpool. because binance launchpool only add new projects. tokens are listed when launchpool completely ended.
All coins are listed approximately a day after the launch pool is finished. Some exceptions I remember were SUI and Cyber, if I'm not mistaken, which were listed for trading a week after the initial launch of the farming period and ran simultaneously.
376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greek 2023–24 Super League Predictions & Discussion on: January 22, 2024, 10:54:48 AM
Another good prediction with PAOK winning by a landslide...
To be honest I didn't expect them to dominate that much even though it was almost a certain win for me...

I don't know why Greek super league odds are like that sometimes.
I can get a 1.44 for a team I'm sure will win, but when I bet on an uncertain match, the odds can be even worse. Tongue
What can I say. Glad I took advantage of that bet anyway.
I dunno if any of y'all are following the predictions but if you are don't be afraid to say hi! Wink
It was an expected victory, to be honest. Although I also didn't foresee them winning 5-1, although there's no such thing as a guaranteed bet, you could also say that this was an almost risk-free bet. I doubt that there was even a chance of Volos winning. What were the odds of OFI vs. Panetolikos? I saw OFI win 1-0 in a quite competitive match; both teams are quite similar in their performances after all, but I wouldn't easily bet on who would win, even though the scale tilted towards OFI. There were far safer options available.
377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Higher and lower risks in gambling is the gamblers choice. on: January 20, 2024, 04:29:10 PM
Agree with you that taking low risk is not a good gambling strategy. For those who want to enjoy gambling and earn profit from it, there is definitely no alternative to take risk. At the beginning of gambling I thought I could gradually increase my bankroll by taking less risk but that was wrong because after I won a few matches in a row with low skate bets, when I lost a match I lost all my winnings and I had additional losses. If one likes to bet he must take risks. I research before taking a bet and then take the risk. If I lose, I don't regret it because I assume that I will lose there.
I had the same mentality when I started playing Crash. I believed that playing a large number of games and cashing out fast would slowly build my bankroll. I soon realized that it was false after losing all my deposited balance. I'd need 10 bets with a 1.10x multiplier to come up with the same results a single bet with a 2x multiplier would achieve. It's far more likely to lose money within 10 bets than a single one. You'll eventually lose more money than you'll actually win, and it's a lot harder to recoup your losses.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Higher and lower risks in gambling is the gamblers choice. on: January 20, 2024, 02:53:59 PM
I'm not an often sports gambler, I'll bet when I see a decent opportunity, with low openings for error. There's no guaranteed bet for sure, but I prefer going for safer options, betting for the teams I deem as superior and more likely to win.

Personally, I believe that the lower the risk isn't necessarily the best technique. For instance, in the crash game, withdrawing at x1.10 multiplier is far worse than winning a few games with larger multipliers. A win with a 2x multiplier will outperform multiple wins at 1.10x, and it's something I've experienced myself. The risk is actually much lower aiming for 2x.
379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greek 2023–24 Super League Predictions & Discussion on: January 20, 2024, 08:46:10 AM
I was actually thinking of this thread yesterday evening. The majority of these matches seem a little uneven, especially Panathinaikos-Asteras Tripolis or Volos-PAOK. Although there's no such thing as a guaranteed bet, the odds of winning are far greater by betting on the most superior team, and most of the matches you posted are a little propensity-uneven. I'd go for Volos-PAOK, Panathinaikos-Asteras, and Aris-Olympiakos; the rest are a little controversial, but the ones I mentioned seem a little more likely to hit.

As a supporter of OFI, what's your view of them and Panetolikos?
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the tension make you take risk that are sometimes worth it? on: January 20, 2024, 07:20:35 AM
What you mentioned is the worst outcome. But even professional gamblers experience taking risks because of the tension they feel. When they feel that it's now time to bet more, the thrilling and excitement build up at these gamblers and that makes them think that it's worth to try some risks.

In gambler's view, we will not end up winning huge if we don't take risks. I sometimes do that on slot games where I risks a good amount of money to buy a Buy Feature of that slot with an average bet of at least $5 per spin. Triggering a huhe multipliers on that bet amount is already exciting.
Well, not necessarily. In my opinion, being tensed comes with making irrational decisions, which is a no-go for me when dealing with money. I'm not against taking risks, and that doesn't only apply to gambling but also to investments and life in general. I believe it's best to take them with a clear head and peace of mind, acknowledging what you're doing. I feel that when you're tensed, stressed, or emotionally unwell, it's not the best time to be taking decisions, especially those that involve money that can easily go down the drain. More often than not, it's not going to have a positive outcome.

I've done it a few times in the past, playing Crash, and let's say that it didn't turn out as I hoped it would.
