361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoin are on chinese exchanges? on: September 09, 2017, 09:43:41 PM
It's not possible to exactly know how many bitcoins they own. But it actually gets scary .
If just the trading volume is taken into consideration then that's more than 15% of the available bitcoins in rotation.

That's actually kinda believable. China has been part of the crypto scene for a lot now and they are also responsible for all the manipulations that occur (they happen at their exchanges.)

We still don't know how many bitcoins are held in cold wallets or held for the future.
All I can say is it's not good that all the those coins are in the possession of a single region of the world.
I heard that China is going to ban exchanges. I don't know if it's gonna happen or not.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Now ETH is going down to the dip. You SOLD or HOLD? on: September 09, 2017, 09:07:41 PM
Now ETH is going down to the dip. You SOLD or HOLD?

I missed the time to sell ETH.

I lost more than 10K USD. HOLD or SOLD with loss, I kept 250 ETH with highest price.

Wait and hold.
Why would you sell and lose money ?
Just wait and forget about them. Sooner or later the price will get back up again.

Don't just panic and end up losing your money once again. Just learn that in crypto prices go down but they do come up again one more time (that's in case of good coins like eth and zec).

Right now altcoin mining profits went down but what do I do ? Just keep the coins where they are until the price gets up till I want and I'm not gonna lose anything right ?

Just learn to be patient.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan ready to kick Bitmain's ass on: September 08, 2017, 06:03:38 PM
That's interesting to see other companies ready to get into the mining field. At least to create some competition.
It's of course good to see more than one company creating the miners.

This should basically mean that prices will get down (competing to sell more) and advance more in little time.
The thing is it's not that easy to "kick" bitmain which totally has dominance over the bitcoin mining game at the current time.
Hopefully this actually turns out to something serious and not some articles spreading some talk.
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: China to allow ICOs again on: September 08, 2017, 05:55:56 PM
Rumors everywhere and every single person is saying something different.

Some say China is banning exchanges and that's why the price is crashing on their side.
And now you're telling us they're planning to allow ICOs "again" ?

Can someone say what's going on truely without adding on his own opinions/hopes/wishes etc.
Even translating Chinese pages directly is not working properly as we don't know an official side that speaks the law.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What will be your top choice? on: September 08, 2017, 03:13:17 PM
It's no longer about the cards themselves. They can all mine with almost the same hashrate.
The question that is really important is for how much you are going to get any of these ?

I don't know if you have an idea about the current gpu market status but all graphics cards are usually out of stock and the only ones available are sold for imaginary prices.

If you can find any one in your local area who sells any new cards for good (normal) prices, just grab them at once and don't think twice. Be it rx 470,480,570,580 or gtx 1060,1070 whatever.

I can't get any card now for under $400.

Good Luck
366  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is there any Signature campaigns available for Newbies??? on: September 08, 2017, 02:12:23 AM
There are currently no signature campaigns available for newbie members.
It only takes about a month or so to become a junior member and be able to take part in signature campaigns.

Right now don't worry about it. Just take part in discussions and try to learn more about crypto. And eventually you'll find that you've met the minimum requirements for the rank (activity needed is 30).

You may know more about ranks and member groups over here.

367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Only 210 Watts from my mining rig?! on: September 08, 2017, 02:05:46 AM
You are right, I have a couple of 1060s and one 1070 but my 1070 is only giving me 100 h/s while my 1060 is giving my 225 h/s at base clock. What could be the problem?

There must be something wrong here. Overclocking my 1060s gets me at least 300 h/s with zcash using EWBF's miner.
So the 1070s must be higher.

Check if you have the latest drivers of the graphics cards and use the latest drivers for ewbf for zcash and claymore for ether.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: will market for etheuem drop when it moves to POS and wtm after pos on: September 07, 2017, 02:15:19 PM
will market for etheuem drop when it moves to POS and wtm after pos
It can go both way. No way any one can predict what's gonna happen exactly.

also does anyone know offhand when that will be?
This topic was asked hundreds of times throughout 2016 and it was believed that in the mid of 2017 it will turn into pos but here we are and still nothing happened. Some people say in 2018 but I  don't buy it anymore.

another question, what other coins are best mined with gpu's?
Ethereum Classic, Zcash, Zclassic.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Please share your EXIT strategy... on: September 06, 2017, 11:44:50 PM
I deal with a local trader who is almost ready to buy bitcoins at all times.
So whenever the price gets high enough and I'm ready to sell, I just pm him and he sends the cash to my bank account in a few hours.

Just try to find someone like this in your local area who invests in crypto.
I've used a service called Virwox a few times in the past to buy bitcoins using paypal and they withdraw as well but I make sure to take a look at the fees before dealing with any service.

Good Luck
370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Hassle of Using Bitcoin In Everyday Life on: September 06, 2017, 11:35:45 PM
Yup that's totally right. I've tried to buy stuff more than once online and in real life using bitcoins but failed to find a legit shop that accepts crypto.
I guess it still has a lot to do until it's worth trying to use it.

The only thing I successfully bought was some amazon and psn gift cards from some websites. They accepted btc and ltc.
Not that much people know about crypto where I live so we can easily say that there's many years ahead of us for crypto to become how we want it to be.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does anyone know any cheap datacenters? on: September 06, 2017, 11:26:41 PM
Hi,
I live in a country with expensive electricity and was wondering if anyone knows any cheap datacenters that are not scams anywhere in the world that will host my 10 odd bitmain miners?

Regards

I don't know if it's a good idea to trust some "people" that you don't know to hold your machines.
Those miners aren't cheap. That's what I'm talking about since losing more than $10k isn't a nice feeling.

373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The next Bitcoin? on: September 02, 2017, 05:07:07 PM
Whatever coin comes to existence, it will never  ever replace bitcoins.
Even if it has better features, btc will remain the leader as it's what came first and what people actually care about.

All other altcoins don't have any usage in real life. They are only traded against bitcoins for profits.
I still can't understand what kinda "features" you're talking about ? Btc already has all that it needs. If there are some issues, they may can be solved by applying improvements by the devs.

It's what introduced the blockchain technology to the world and all the others are just copying it in one way or another.
374  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I Need an advice about Signature on: August 31, 2017, 04:25:49 PM
Hi Valentina.
You came to this forum two weeks ago which means you there's a lot of things you need to know.
Do a lot of reading. Learn more about how crypto works and get invloved in discussions.

Later on, you'll find that you got to the jr. member rank which is the minimum to be able to take part in a signature campaign.
You can learn all about the ranks and how it goes from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.msg2513302#msg2513302

After that head over to this thread which has all the campaigns available on the forum (although it's not daily updated but it's good).
375  Other / Meta / Re: A highly misleading topic at bitcointalk.org on: August 31, 2017, 04:21:35 PM
I have no idea what your company is all about nor have I ever used your services but it seems that you have some issues.
McAfee security regards your website as "high risk - dangerous".

When I googled "a-ads" as you said, this is what came up.

Here is the site report that the popup gave me.

https://www.mcafee.com/threat-intelligence/site/default.aspx?url=https%3A//a-ads.com/&ref=safesearch

I just wanted to note you to that one as well as of course it would discourage anyone who is trying to deal with you.

Good Luck
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi just sold his mined Bitcoins from 2010 on: August 30, 2017, 03:08:40 AM
Well whoever this person is, he must be so happy right now.
Things that had no value at all are worth millions of dollars and granted him the title of "millionaire".
If I understand it correctly, SegWit uses newer P2SH (pay to script hash) addresses, which start with a three just like the ones that this person is sending to.

Rather than jumping to the conclusion that this early adopter is "cashing out", we could consider that they're moving their coins to SegWit-compatible wallets - something which people with the opportunity should certainly be doing.

Well that's still actually a possibility but we'll never know since these addresses are brand new. Actually the scenario that the coins got sold is acceptable.
Maybe a new investor bought ? and just created one address and the other is the exchange address of the owner.
377  Economy / Services / Re: [2 OPEN SLOTS] Rollin.io Signature & Avatar Campaign on: August 30, 2017, 02:06:33 AM
Hi guitarplinker,

I've decided to leave the campaign as well at the end of this month since the rates have been decreased.
I've been part of this campaign for 5 months (since April 1) and I can totally assure you that this is the best signature campaign I've ever been part of.

You're an incredible manager. God bless.
See you around again (maybe in another campaign Cheesy ).

Good  Luck
378  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How can an online exchange account be hacked with 2FA turned on? on: August 25, 2017, 04:13:54 AM
As you read the article, it was a phishing website where a new site is created as a copy of the old one to scam people.
Basically what it did was it logged in the fake website owner to the real bittrex, how ?

Let me explain.
1- Enter fake site
2- enter email and pass
3- fake site logs into real bittrex and enters the data you typed exactly
4- real site sends you 2fa code to make sure it's you
5- you only see the fake site
6- fake site asks you for the code and you enter it
7- fake site goes to real site and enters that code.

Congratulations, fake site owner is in your account and can withdraw all your coins easily.

Always be cautious and check the url more than once. Not only in exchanges but generally in anything that involves your money/assets/identity.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin now better coin? on: August 25, 2017, 04:05:24 AM
Am I the only one who sticks to trading coins that have been around for a while ?
I only trade Zcash and ETH and maybe some ZCL and LTC.
With small amounts only as well.

Although the movement in them might take a lot of time, but it always happens.
I prefer that to a coin which is not even established and can fall in any minute.
For example Eth increased a solid $20 per coin than Aug 21.

Just check the charts and see where the average is, buy when it's lower. WAIT. Sell when higher than it. Smile Smiley
380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: please point me to the BCC/BCH tutorial posted by theymos to claim on: August 25, 2017, 03:59:35 AM
Since the split already happened some time ago, I don't know if you can still claim it.

Basically I put my bitcoins in an exchange (bittrex) which said that it supports bitcoin cash and automatically I got the same amount of bitcoins I had in BCH.
I was then able to trade them or withdraw them do anything. Just basically free money.

Any way here's the link that was posted in header of the forum.
