361  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's List of Bitcoin Scammers, Shills, and Users Not To Trust IMO on: July 23, 2013, 11:39:53 PM

So I guess the thing to watch now is how many mining (not quite) bonds start leaving the securities forum...
362  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to apply pressure to Mt. Gox to pay up. on: July 23, 2013, 11:13:35 PM
How about flying over and running naked through their office wearing only an ammunition belt, a plethora of guns taped to several limbs, an RPG slung across the back and a raging hardon? That should work.

The last one is probably the important one. The armament pales in importance to the erection and can be done without.

If someone does this you'll be a NPC in S.MG's GTA too.

It probably won't be long until one of the e-Lolyers or shills here who can't stop loving the Gox breaks down and does it anyway. It will probably happen when they found out the Feds gave their seized Gox dollars to one of the lending scammers on welfare, probably this one.
363  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sports betting Challenge (Me vs You!) on: July 23, 2013, 10:53:49 PM
damn. 12-3 . your bookies must hate you

If they are doing things right, they probably just hope they make the lines right. There should be money to cover him and the vig on the other line.
364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting Picks ( RECORD 143-64-16) on: July 23, 2013, 02:45:43 PM
I've won on Dodgers too many days in a row. Might take Padres over Brewers again, because of the Braun suspension.

That seems like an interesting pick.  At +111 I think I will give that a go as well.

It's two no name pitchers and a brewers outfield where the second choice to sub is injured and the Brewers have drama. Also +111 isn't a bad return.

Much lols from you, tip awarded.

Thank you for your 2 mBTC I'll be sure to gamble it away on something other than being able to withdraw it from Gox.

Wait, crap. Does my signature count as third party ads? I mainly just put them up myself because I enjoy the service/site.
It's text based, and I will let it slide if you move the inputs.io ad to the first line (instead of how it's currently the second).

Confirm ranlo Smiley

Is it alright like this or does it have to be size 12? I'd like to keep my siggy visibile, but that's not possible if it's size 12. (I'll set it back to 12 if that's neccessary)

Somehow I made it work...
367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting Picks ( RECORD 143-64-16) on: July 23, 2013, 01:30:04 PM
I'm thinking the way the Dodgers are hitting lately, I might have to put something on them tonight.

368  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DMS hedge, please cite in DMS thread. on: July 23, 2013, 12:25:17 PM
Well I'd bet if the action looks like it will make it an exciting bet like what happened here: http://bitbet.us/bet/113/bitbet-will-we-worth-more-than-satoshi-dice/

I was thrilled.
369  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CampBX withdrawal to Bank Account-- Long wait time on: July 23, 2013, 11:54:19 AM
Banks have cut off times and you missed it by several hours, they dont work like the bitcoin network...

This part is the real shame and a part of why I like bitcoin. Also a 3 day ACH can take up to 5 because ACH sucks...

Atruk would you quote me in the thread please? Or just tell people over there?
It's gonna be really interesting to see what people think will happen.

If you stick around and get posting privileges outside of this section you will be able to do it yourself. I'd rather not post this there and have people assume I'm taking a position on this. Once more bets are placed I might place one on either side, but I don't have a set feeling on this.
373  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DMS hedge, please cite in DMS thread. on: July 22, 2013, 10:52:02 PM
I made a new bet that could be interesting for people wanting to hedge DMS.
http://bitbet.us/bet/485/dms-will-still-be-traded-at-the-end/

If there are non-newbs here and you are interested in DMS/this hedge could you cite this paragraph in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=228327.0 ? I've been following the thread since day one but never felt the need to post. Also I think it's inappropriate to ask Deprived to post it there.

This looks interesting. I don't invest in mining, but depending on the action that finds its way to this bet I might take a position.
374  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Escrow on: July 22, 2013, 10:48:13 PM
Are you supposed to just message the escrow in a PM with details about a transaction?

To initiate the process, but there's more to it than that. In the example of John K he will provide a signed contract with an escrow address to send the BTC to while he is escrowing. Once you have the contract you are responsible for verifying the signatures are valid and his. You are also responsible for checking that the contract came directly from him.

Different escrow providers will use different variations on the process, but one of the most important parts is making sure that you are actually working with a trusted escrow provider and not just some Alt of your trading provider pretending to serve as escrow.
375  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTS 0.5 BTC for Vanilla Reload on: July 22, 2013, 07:59:33 PM
Thanks Atruk for the smooth transaction.

I appreciate the feedback.
376  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Escrow on: July 22, 2013, 04:19:21 AM
Agreed, JohnK is the best escrow, but there are also a lot of other possible escrow providers with various ups and downs. Also, keep in mind escrow with paypal is kind of pointless (paypal can be charged back unless the escrow is 45 days)

Chargebacks can happen even later than that with PayPal... There's some real horror stories out there.
377  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sports betting Challenge (Me vs You!) on: July 22, 2013, 02:26:54 AM
Also liked Dodgers myself, but couldn't unload on it when I saw Puig was not in the lineup. Thought dodgers would win but just couldn't fire on it, so I went with Oakland instead. Congrats for hitting the parlay! Just let me know if you want to do a challenge, I will also be having a handicapping contest/pool for NFL season which I will announce closer to the first games. I will also offer a challenge or two special for couple people to challenge me for NFL full season, and not a 14 day or 30 day challenge but instead the full season of NFL and only NFL picks qualify. Still working out the details for both.

Also, thanks for posting in my thread, I feel like sometimes I'm talking to myself here.  Wink

Edit: Also, congrats Msbitcoin, I see you went 2-1 today for again +0.90 units. Record updated. If I'm wrong let me know.

My picks have their methods. I'm more into NCAAF than NFL, but I'll think about it.
378  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sports betting Challenge (Me vs You!) on: July 22, 2013, 01:28:06 AM
Had what I considered to be a play of the week today, took Oakland ML -130 and Oakland won easily. Easy 5.7 BTC won off bitbook as well as another +1 unit for the challenges. Hope everyone did well themselves today. Still looking for some more Head to Head Challenges! Up to 1 BTC per person!

I might consider the head to head for a month in the future. I also today have Oakland to thank for a win (pending this parlay getting graded): http://bitcoinsports.eu/bet/d81b7?destination=parlay-slip
