The Cards are starting a rookie who's younger than me. Off to a damn near 4.5 era, and having a terrible outing his last couple games. I think the Rangers can jump him enough to keep a lead

Lyons first few were great. I think he might have a tell though and people have picked it up on video. He's got control and movement, but he doesn't seem to be concealing what he's up to lately.

Who you got tonight in MLB?

I want do a parlay with three bets, but am having a hard time finding a third pick...

Going with:
Detroit Tigers ML - Fister will take care of business at home after last night's loss.
TEX @ STL Over 8 - Seems like the Rangers can't stop getting blown out, but if their bats get hot then 8 will be easy to hit

Quick question here - maybe it's a quirk of the American betting system that I'm not familiar with. On the Texas Rangers fixture, I see an over 7.5 option. What's the difference between this and over 7? What scenarios would lead you to win with an over 7 but not with an over 7.5?

STL -1.5 over Texas

The .5 in the score is to prevent a push.

I'm far enough east to be in a different state. I'm still not quite decided yet on the fate of this mower either.

Where's the monocle and tophat?  Huh

You have to draw them with you own crayon.

You seem way too trusting, you need to bitcoin moar before making recommendations.

Lol, I've been registered here a full 16 months longer than you have and you're telling me to bitcoin moar?

Jog on, newbie! Where were you when we were buying btc for under $1?

Not sending money to strangers promising fantastic investment returns simply because they could spin a fantastic narrative.

Why would anyone buy BQC when they can just buy actual BBQ meats?
473  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: International payments - hedging against bit coin price swings on: June 19, 2013, 11:09:38 AM
My business does a lot of international transactions via the banking system which are expensive and take ages.

We could use bitcoin but would need a way to protect against the price of bitcoin falling against national currencies.

I am looking for a reliable, trustworthy way to do this.  Basically options or futures contracts on bitcoin vs gbp, usd or aud

I see there is icbit.se, is this recommended?, does anybody have any other recommendations?

Ta

If you want to seriously hedge with options look at MPEX or sites like coinbr that pass through to them. They seem to be the best capitalized of the exchanges trading bitcoin futures and options. If you are moving any serious volume the fear with smaller ventures would be the site being compromised or a lack of capitalization to back your options.

Thank you sir.

xboxgames requested actual codes so I loaded them on the site and he purchased from the guest account.

I'm happy to load actual moneypaks for anyone needing to purchase one.

That has very little to do with the part where xboxgames is being accused of scamming new members out of MoneyPak funds
475  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1.5 BTC Donation for a Project on: June 19, 2013, 08:37:39 AM
Hi everybody!  It's D337z again!

Anyhow, I'm just going to get right down to it.  I've got a project I want to accomplish for the community and not enough income to fulfill it myself.  So, I'm asking if anyone wants to donate to help me out.  Now, I know what many of you who don't know me will say, "SCAM!  He's totally scamming you!"  Well, I'm going to tell you right here and now that a donation is just that.  You don't get anything out of it but the satisfaction that your money might be going to a good cause.  And yes, I said might.  As with any other donation you've made in your life, unless you're standing right there, you can't be sure where your money went to.
Now to tell you what your donation is supposed to go towards.  I have quite a few neighbors around my neighborhood that can't take care of their lawns due to either financial problems or physical inability.  So, I've acquired a 48 Volt battery-powered lawn mower via FreeCycle that needs 4x 12 Volt 9 Amp batteries to run.  The problem is that I can't afford to get the batteries myself as they surplus to over $120 total.  I can make the repairs myself, so I don't need to ship it to Craftsman to get it fixed.  I was wondering if anyone would like to spare some BTC for the batteries and possibly travel expenses in case I branch out to other people outside of the neighborhood who need free lawn care.
The way I see it, my home town here has a law that says that grass can not exceed 8 inches in height or they will fine the owner of the home.  If someone can't afford to be mowing their lawn, they can't pay the fine.  If they're unable to physically mow their lawn, it's adding insult to injury.  I already know of a few people around the neighborhood who could use my free help, so I'll be making at least a small difference.  The mower will last about 10 years on the 4x batteries.  And any excess donations will go towards other community projects...which I haven't decided on yet but may include household wind turbines.

Well, feel free to forward any questions or accusations to me personally.

Take care!
D337z

Every little bit helps!

Edit:  I think I've decided to open a community tool shed where the community can get what tools they need lent to them for free.  I think it's the only way to be truly fair about it.

As I said on CoinChat I might has a salvageable mower if I can ever make it that far west on I-70.

He may have personal life issues nobody is disputing this. But the fact he was able to accept multiple moneypaks from people and not send the BTC at the same time is ridiculous excuse to be honest. As we all know it takes seconds to conduct a BTC transfer so I don't buy this excuse one bit.

Pretty much this part is where it is at. If you are selling BTC you better have them on hand, be online, and be ready to send them when you can confirm as soon as possible after you know what you've sent isn't crap.Even if he pays the MoneyPak traders back he has just generally engaged in some horrible practices for a person selling bitcoin.

dueling picks?

I offer a second set of picks. Ours have overlapped quite a bit. The big difference is I don't take deposits and I tend to be a bit more aggressive>

So apparently, the way I see it, is that someone has some urgent and unforeseen personal circumstances, that by all accounts appear to be pretty damn serious, and people are lining up to make baseless accusations and generally shit all over him. What a fantastic community we're building here.

xboxgames: If you're reading this and need any help, drop me a PM. The btc is immaterial at the moment. I won't judge and I'm here if you need me.
nickassa, owner of notroll.in, said the same thing and look how that turned out. I say give him some time, but I wouldn't expect getting anything back.

I agree with this whole heartily.

Likewise

At least you have those MFC coins Tavin. It might be too early for you to abandon bitcoin completely though if this fucker disappears. Head on over to #bitcoin-assets on Freenode IRC. Letting Mircea have some fun with you on there might be a rather profitable activity.

I don't think they will. Personally I don't think inputs/outputs are inferior enough to change it at this point.
As said, the refactor would be big, and you would need a hard fork. But I'm still missing why Satoshi didn't make it a balances ledger from the beginning.

It protects against reorganization attacks.
