One more thing. I will continue to come here for treatment in spite of knowing that his nonprofit organization is a Ponzi, relying on future members joining so to remain viable.

Hahaha I always come here for the entertainment. Bravo Sir!

I don't understand  Huh  I'm still waiting to see what happens with BitconnectX.....did they really rake in hundreds of millions of dollars in the ICO?

BitconnectX should neither be listed, after what happened as BCC, who has the courage to put 1 cent in this "project"?

This place is getting worse than the White House. Smiley

Yeah! Let's go back to the days when Stephen Bannon worked alongside Brock Pierce at an entity prior to the advent of Bitcoin which Goldman Sachs pumped tens of millions of dollars into. Shortly  thereafter, I postulate that James Simons/Robert Mercer recruited select cyberpunks to work on the Byzantine general problem. Years later, Sachs funds the Ethereum initiative while other Wall Street cats figure out how to get crypto on the formidable exchanges in further enriching themselves.

If you've been following the news of late, you've read all about Cambridge Analytica, right up Simons' alley. Cf. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Harris_Simons#Investment_career.

I seriously wonder what is taking so long?  Usually a reschedule is like a month or so in the future.  I wonder what is really going on?  Has anyone called or heard what might be the next court date or what is going on?

Let's say you're a judge who loves having your balls cupped. The accused standing before you is a renown ballcupper. How many rescheduled court dates would you reward said accused?
388  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: LUST ICO is a scam. on: March 21, 2018, 10:11:38 PM
There are so many ICO scams, and because of the lack of regulation there needs to be a decentralized solution. Check out Incremint.io. They have a decentralized escrow platform where token holders vote for release of funds to ICOs to ensure forward progress.

Be care when investing! It's wild out there!

I'm willing to bet that the Russian clown behind BitBase is affiliated with Incremint.io.

Exception made, bud.

Aside: I've been deathly sick the past few days, most likely due to something I ate. If it wasn't for drinking massive amounts of apple juice, I would of ended up in the hospital for dehydration and hooked up to one of them drip machine thingies. Been there - done that, umpteen years ago, so knew what I needed this time. Ass is still sore but that, too, will pass.
390  Other / Meta / Re: Ceterum censeo, Quickseller should kill himself. (Quicksy *TRIGGERED!*) on: March 16, 2018, 08:36:47 AM
Serious discussion first:

And you know that you don't HAVE to do something when people on the intertubes express their preference one way or another, right? If I advise you to fuck yourself with a bag of rusty nails - please think this through. I wouldn't want you to make any rash decisions but I fully support your freedom of choice in this matter.

I have said several times before on this forum that I know how to hit where it hurts.  Quickseller is accustomed to criticism, to rather understate the matter; moreover, although he is not eloquent in the artistic sense, he does have above-average verbal skills (as do many smooth-talking scammers, including Alia).  Yet here, suddenly and uncharacteristically, he flipped out:

You both are a piece of shit. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you?

That wasn’t even the initial version of his reply.  Initially, he just lashed out and called Vod and me “a piece of shit”; he then promptly edited to reinforce his point with a “seriously” F-bomb.  I saw the earlier version.  Clearly, he was in a state of emotional agitation.  Why?

And why really drove him to create that insane attack thread which I have characterized as “Quickseller vs. The World”?

This reminds me of the incident in which a Tor Project employee revenge-doxed someone (!) who had suggested on Twitter that she should kill herself.  She rationalized her such hypocritical anti-privacy action by alleging that this remark could cause her serious harm, due to her publicly known problems with depression and suicidal tendencies.  Triggering, y’know.

Mentally stable people are not internally put off-balance by being told to kill themselves.  I know that if somebody on the Internet told me to kill myself, I would find that either boring, or mildly amusing in the yah, sure sense.  There is only one cause I can adduce for somebody becoming upset by being told to kill himself:  He has actual suicidal tendencies, and his therapist told him that suicide talk is harmful to him.

Really, you’ve seen Quickseller coolly slither about with his alts through 60+ page firestorms of clearly evidenced serious accusations against him.  When did you ever see him react like this to a simple remark of the kind which has no power over any rational person?

You both are a piece of shit. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you?

It's quite obvious that nullius was merely suggesting the best way to

find Jesus

You of all people should know this because this is 100% Quicksy logic.

Hah.  I had actually thought of that when posting.  Then I realized, suicides go straight to the Sixth Circle of Hell.

(Aside:  Having no such religious objections, I myself support an almost unlimited right to suicide.  Those who kill themselves either face such a great pain that I cannot judge them, or are such weak wretches that they benefit all mankind by passing final judgment on themselves.)

Thus in the high style of classical antiquity:

Ceterum censeo, Quickseller should kill himself.

"You now want me to write "Ceterum censeo, Quickseller se debet occidere." 100 times?
This is MADNESS !!!"

<humour at Quickseller's expense>

Well, if it isn’t the Doppelgänger of the merit-beggar whom I once awarded +1 for ironically begging me in Latin!

Now, in grand Pythonic style, we must hold a discussion on the spot about whether your use of the indicative be proper.  I know that the historic original “Ceterum censeo” used the indicative, in the sense of declaring a future which shall be, rather than a mere wish; but the English here being translated uses the word should, in the context of my copypaste of Vod’s clearly subjunctive statements (emphasis added):

“I think Quickseller really should kill himself.”  Repeat:  “I really wish the guy would kill himself already.”  Whereas you indicate:  “...Quickseller shall kill himself.”

I raise this question, as a proud user of the subjunctive in English.

Ceterum censeo, Quickseller should kill himself.

Not only is my Latin rusty but it's nonexistent (blame it on the Bossa Google Translation [BGT]). And thanks for correcting my spelling (writer -> write). I corrected it first hoping nobody quoted it, but it somebody did, I hoped it was you - which it was - whereupon I would've PM'ed (or is PM;ed) you to edit your post so to reflect my true brilliance.

BTW, did you notice that in spite of the misspelling, some dude sent me 20 sM for that post?  Cool Cool Cool

If the Earth is flat, then explain seasons. How is it winter in the northern hemisphere and summer in the southern hemisphere at the same time?

source: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flat_Earth_Seasons.svg

So, the sun is a disc having a 32-mile-wide diameter, thus itself not a globe, correct?

No, you dummy, the sun is a projection, duh.

Is the projection of a disc or a globe object?

The wife of a billionaire from the list of Forbes Dmitry Buriak: He drove me out of the house: https://life.ru/t/%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B8%D0%B3%D0%B0%D1%80%D1%85%D0%B8/893936/zhiena_milliardiera_iz_spiska_forbes_dmitriia_buriaka_on_vyghnal_mienia_iz_doma

Quote
The ex-wife of the "King of Bioadditives" said that after the divorce, he left his family without means of subsistence.

The divorce of oligarchs rarely does without large scandals. Especially when it comes to the division of billions of states. Billionaire billionaire Dmitry Buryak and his wife, Margarita, who got rid of the state on bioadditives, officially divorced in February, after 29 years of marriage - "quietly". However, judging by the application to the prosecutor's office from the wife of the oligarch, who was at the disposal of Life, immediately after the break-up, the 58-year-old businessman without a warning put the ex-spouse and three children behind the threshold. The youngest - Philip - at that time turned 18 years old - a young man until recently, he studied abroad at the expense of his father. Beautiful fairy life behind the strong back of the husband-oligarch for Margarita Buriak collapsed overnight. Now the woman has a long "war" over the jointly acquired property, the value of which is estimated at about one billion dollars.

Dmitry and Margarita Buriak were once considered one of the most exemplary pairs in Russian business. The lovers met when the future bride was barely 15 years old. The enamored young man waited humbly for three years to lead the girl to a crown. Together they went through fire and water - from the criminal record of a businessman at the dawn of family life to the creation of one of the largest networks for the sale of food additives. Margarita gave her husband three children: two daughters and a son, whom the man called the meaning of his life. Resident prestigious rating Forbes gave his beloved blossoms flowers and expensive decorations, fulfilling any of her whims. To help her husband sit around, Dmitry helped her create her own charity fund to help children from orphanages.

"The family has always been the basis of my life for me," admitted Dmitry Buriak in his interview, "Margarita is my destiny, the mother of my wonderful daughters and my long-awaited son, the meaning of my existence."

In a marriage Margaret gave birth to Dmitry, three children - two daughters and a son.

The first public quarrel in a happy family happened in 2009, by the time the couple crossed the turquoise wedding line, having lived together for 18 years. Margarita was noticed in the company of then still idle Andrey Malakhov. With a popular TV presenter, the woman spent many evenings, having visited him even in his homeland in Apatity. Feelings to the new favorite died out, barely having time to flare up, Margarita again returned to her husband. However, the weather in the luxurious house of the oligarch and his wife was adjusted for a short time. Seven years later, the woman learned that in another country her husband hides a mistress and two children.

- I was told that Dmitry has a second family in Ukraine for more than ten years now. He often flew there, he has another business there, "Margarita admits.

Realizing that there is nothing more to save, Margarita Buryak filed for divorce. However, such a "riot" did not appeal to a businessman whose plans did not include the wayward act of the once beloved woman. According to Margarita, having decided to punish his wife, Dmitry struck him with a ruble, stopping financing her charity fund and putting things out with the door.

Margarita Buryak was seen more than once in the company of Andrey Malakhov.

- The next day after the divorce, returning from work, I could not get to not only our house, but also to the territory of the village, - says Margarita Buriak. - I had to call the police. But the arriving employee reported that the house belongs to my ex-husband and I can no longer stay there.

According to lawyer Margarita Buriak, his client was the victim of injustice, because the mansion, located in the elite suburban settlement, was purchased for money from the general family budget.

- In February we filed a lawsuit about the hindrance of Dmitry Arkadyevich Buriak in the residence of his ex-wife in the territory of the land plot acquired in marriage, - says the woman's lawyer. "But until June this business did not move from the dead end. Dmitry himself lives abroad, and ex-wife and children evicted to nowhere. He put up a guard, hired some guest workers who even threatened Margarita. Dmitry filed a counterclaim with demands to deprive the ex-spouse of the right to use the house. The court satisfied his claim. Us - refused. What is a gross violation, since this house is a co-owned property. And, despite the fact that Dmitry is the owner, both spouses have equal rights to him. Unless otherwise provided for by a marriage contract, which my client did not conclude.

August 31 in the Moscow Regional Court will again be a meeting - the woman decided to go to the end and appeal the deprivation of her rights to use the common house in higher instances.

Dmitry and Margarita Buriak for a long time were considered an exemplary couple.

In addition, Margarita filed an application with the Investigative Committee, the Office of the Federal Security Service, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with  indictments that convict the oligarch of organizing organized crime groups and laundering money through his company Vision International People Group, which produces popular European supplements.

"The amounts that were exported abroad and imported into Russia are of considerable size and of doubtful origin," writes Margarita Buriak in her statement. - My ex-husband heads this criminal grouping, which includes seven more people. They cashed in money through one-day firms. This I learned when I was admitted to manage one of its Russian companies.

Also, according to the statement of Margarita Buriak, the former husband, without notifying the FMS of Russia, received double foreign citizenship - Ukraine and Greece, which is a criminal offense.

"Recently he lived abroad, explaining to me that he had" disagreements "with the Russian authorities and he does not want to be on the territory of the Russian Federation," Margarita continues. - I believed. After all, in the nineties he was a member of the well-known criminal group of the brothers Chernykh. Later served 2.5 years in the colony for attempting to fraud and obtaining a loan for fraudulent documents. But I, however, was trying to convince our whole life together that this was a tragic mistake that he would never repeat.

(I did hyperlink Quickseller’s attack thread, which contained both quotes of you  Vod Sir.)

(I smile because copy pasting this is a good thing)

Aye, and it would make for a good meme for signing off every post in a Quickseller thread.  (Too bad the Iago bit went over this Iago’s head.)  Thus in the high style of classical antiquity:

Ceterum censeo, Quickseller should kill himself.

Ah, Quickseller, the great master of rhetoric.

What’s wrong?  Do the voices in your head agree?  Did I hit close to home with the dark thoughts which plague you when you realize you are alone in a universe which so evidently hates you that it refuses to bow to your whims?

I suggest that you convert to misotheism, for your last rites before you kill yourself.

And by the way, why did you call Vod and me “a piece of shit”, singular?  Do you think that I’m Vod’s alt?  “That is very clear. Anyone who does not see this is simply closing their eyes.

Ceterum censeo, Quickseller should kill himself.

I'll probably release Satoshi's PMs and logged IPs addresses in ~8 years. This'd probably be of great historical interest. (Though he always used Tor, as far as I can tell.)

Regularly used exit nodes come to mind.

What else comes to mind? I'm betting that some 3-LA (NSA, etc.) requested, then received everything related to SN on this forum long ago.

If I'm getting all these right, you're telling me that Satoshi, the founder of Bitcoin and the genesis block miner, had 1,000,000 BTC from the 20,000 blocks he solved. AND because he lost faith in this project becoming reality, he didn't care about them enough and lost the goddamn keys to this 1mil btc?

Damn son! I'd be hiding from my stupidity as well...

No, I am saying that Bitcoin wasn't worth anything for the first 18 months and therefore people including Satoshi didn't care much about preserving the private keys. Remember the 10,000 BTC pizza transaction? That transaction took place at the end of May 2010 which kind of established any worth for BTC for the first time. Think of it like something that was like a penny but wasn't even close to worth a penny. If you dropped one of those pennies, I bet you wouldn't care much.

So, how many 10K BTC pizzas did Satoshi own when he quit mining?
Probably none.

Theoretical was implied/inferred/assumed (playing pick a verb).
