He doesn't have to, but I think a big complaint boxing fans tend to have is that a lot of the big fights that people want to see never end up happening, or they don't happen in their prime. Undefeated fighters often will duck fights for obvious reasons of not wanting to potentially lose their record, or disputes over money mean the contracts never get signed as both parties want bigger cuts. People have been wanting the AJ/Fury fight for probably near a decade. I don't think for one second Fury would duck that fight, but it's easier to walk away undefeated. When there's still people like Usyk to beat I can't see why he'd walk away. I think Fury beats both AJ and Usyk, though Usyk would be more difficult. I could see that fight going the distance. I just feel like Fury still is at his peak and has a good few years left in him before he walks away and doing so now when there's still good fights to be made is disappointing and he's walking away from the chance to cement his legacy further. I'm almost certain that even if Fury steps away from boxing for a number of years he'll just end up doing what most boxers do and end up doing exhibition matches way past their prime just for the money. Fight Usyk and/or AJ, do the blockbuster fight with Ngannou and then call it quits. I'd much rather see that happen than a 40/50 year old Tyson box and 40/50 year old AJ cos they're desperate for some cash.

Well if he beats more people he's only going to cement his legacy. I think walking away now is a bit of a cop out when there's still a good few fighters he hasn't fought. Usyk would probably be the trickiest for him but if he beats him and unifies all the belts that's another huge career milestone. He could then walk away and vacate having nothing else left to prove. With or without the belts the AJ match it still the fight Brits want to see. It would be even better with the belts though.


I think Ngannou is by far the biggest hitter in the UFC and he's surely got to be one of the biggest draws outside of McGregor as well so the cross promo fight with Fury makes a lot of sense to me. Maybe Ngannou should rematch the Derrick Lewis fight at some point as that was one of the worst UFC fighters ever with both fighters failing to commit. Hardly any punches were thrown let alone landed.


I agree. I want to see him fight Aj/Usyk (or both)) and then Ngannou. I think he wins them all. I don't think it's out of the question for AJ to win the belts back somehow but the odds are stacked against him. Hopefully he's working on changing his game plan for the rematch as he's going to have to do something different.

It was a good fight but that was to be expected. Rounds 5 and 10 were especially great. I'm surprised they gave it to Taylor though. I thought Amanda probably edged it. Thought it might have been stopped in the 5th as Katie was taking a beating and not really defending herself but kept swinging and didn't look unsteady on her feet, but saved by the bell. I'm sure they will rematch it as there's not many better options for either fighter. I bet Eddie is regretting ducking that 1 million dollar bet with Jake now.

You win some you lose some. 0-0s are probably the riskiest scoreline to go for. Probably the rarest I would have thought too, but sometimes they pay off. I really couldn't pick a winner in that fight and couldn't see any goals so it had to be a bore draw for me.

He's undefeated but with every fight you risk losing that status and once it's gone it's gone. There's going to be so much money on the line to fight Usyk and AJ that I'm sure it's a risk he's willing to take. I think he wins both fights though.

He seems to be being very reasonable. He's happy to re-sign with the UFC and even do a cross promo event with them for the Fury fight but he has to be allowed to do the Fury fight. If Dana can let Connor do it then he should be able to do it with Francis. Why would he contonie fighting in the UFC for 500k a fight when he get get multiple millions for a boxing match. Francis also explained how he lost a 1 million dollar sponsorship deal with Coinbase because UFC took the Crypto.com deal. Not letting fighters have their own sponsorships like that really stiffs them out of a lot of money. In fact, for the big fighters most of their revenue comes from sponsorships. The UFC is going to end up shooting itself in the foot if they don't compromise a little and start paying fighters what they're worth as the big names will just bounce and leave the organisation as soon as they can.

If he's Premier League quality then it must be a bottom of the league team. I never understood why United even signed him. I was listening to True Geordie over the weekend and they said looking at the stats for Centre backs in the PL he comes out 38 out of 40 or something  . He was benched in the last game an I'm surprised it took this long. Not sure whether it was related to that bomb threat he got.


I didn't watch the game but sometimes 0-0 scorelines can be deceptive so look at the other stats. Could have been lots of chances and woodwork hit etc but none of them just go in. I had 1-1 on that match. I've got 0-0 for tonight's game as well. Leeds really need at least a point from this. If they don't get something I think they could be in real trouble as they've got some very tough fixtures coming up. Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea all in a row. I doubt they're getting any points from those three so could come down to their last two games against Brighton and Brentford depending on the results of the other relegation battlers.

Don't listen to him regarding retirement. Most of that was likely just trying to sell this fight. He even brought Ngannou out and into the ring after the victory to try hype up the bout so it looks like that fight is probably going to happen next year. I'm sure he will fight the winner of Aj/Usyk as well. Maybe even both of them as AJ will struggle to win the belts back (though I don't think it's impossible). Maybe he will just look to do huge exhibition matches on his own terms but I doubt it's the last we'll see of Fury fighting. Keep an eye out if he vacates the belts or not. If he does then that will be a pretty good indicator he's done with fighting for them but is he going to walk away from the belts that easy? I'm not so sure. I think fights against Usyk/AJ will still be bigger than the Whyte fight so even if AJ doesn't have a belt if that fight comes up I'm sure he will take it again.

I dunno. I think he'll be up for it. He has to be. Going into this fight half-hearted would be a very bad idea. He knows what he needs to do and this is the biggest stage he's ever going to have so even if he doesn't win putting on a good performance will earn him some fans. I don't think there is a rematch clause if I recall correctly what Tyson said, but I'm sure if Whyte did win he'd be all too willing to fight Fury again. If there's no rematch clause then the ball would be in his court so he has all the power and can dictate the terms of the rematch which Fury would have no choice but to accept.


They can still fight even if AJ doesn't have a belt. With or without any belts I still think the fight would be the biggest British boxing match of all time. Bigger than Fury/Whyte that's for sure. Of course it would be even bigger if all the belts were on the line. I don't think it's impossible that AJ can't win the belts back either. AJ knows what to expect of Usyk now so I don't think he's going to make the same mistake. My money probably would be on Usyk again but I could see it going the distance next time. Nah, not away. I know Brighton beat Spurs away last week but City are a different animal and are in the title race so I'd be very surprised if they even get a point from this. A win for them tonight will take them back top but anything else will see them stay in second place.

I agree about him not exactly having the gift of the gab, but he could have at least offered some insight or tried to do some mindgames on Fury. It was all just vanilla, but I'm guessing deep down he still doesn't really wanna promote the fight given there's nothing in it for him at this point.  Whether he should retire or not depends on how well he does in this fight. If he gives Fury a hard time I'm sure this will renew interest in him, but I'm not sure that will happen. As for the money, he might feel short changed in regards to what Fury is getting but it's still more than 8 times than what he got from his last fight. It doubles if he wins as well so there's a hell of an incentive. He will have enough money to retire after this fight but boxers seem to go through cash like it's unlimited hence why they end up fighting way past their prime.  There's still probably options for him though.

Has anyone backed an upset on the Man U / Norwich game? I haven't but at the same time Norwich grabbing a point wouldn't surprise me. They've grabbed 4 points from their last two matches and Man U have a draw and a loss to Everton last week. Is Ronaldo playing? Actual ticket sales will make up only a small portion of the income from this fight. The big money comes from the PPVs. I'm sure the in person tickets will sell out but I think this fight is going to have to do very well world wide to make a decent profit. I'm sure the demand in the UK will be huge but I'm not sure how excited American audiences will be.

It's not really worth watching as he doesn't really say much. I'm guessing either Warren gave in and acquiesced to some of Whyte's demands in exchange for promotion or there was actually something in the contact that required it. It's in Dillian's interests to do something as he'd be a fool to walk away from this fight which we know isn't going to happen. It's still his biggest payday by far and likely will be the last time he gets that sort of money again unless he actually beats Fury which isn't likely to happen.

That was mostly Madrid's fault. Felipe kicked out at Foden after he made the tackle after earlier cutting his head open with a foul that he wasn't even carded for. He should have been sent of much earlier so don't know why he was complaining. Madrid did some horrific fowl throws as well. Hoping it's not an all English final. It's always boring when that happens. Liverpool should beat Villareal but they've got this far and just knocked out Bayern so probably won't be a pushover. Yeah, results went as expected and pretty much everyone backed them. Tonight's games are tougher though, especially the Chelsea/Real Madrid one. Chelsea losing 4-1 in the PL to Brentford at home and then also Real Madrid getting stuffed at home to Barcelona the week before has thrown a spanner in the works of predictions. Even more so when Real beat PSG last round. Think I'm gonna have to go for a high scoring draw on it. I certainly can't pick a winner.
